Quintessentially Bangali khaabar-daabar. Such homely flavours. But it's not a fancy dine-out. Good for daily meals and for the times you're absolutely craving homely Bangali meals. Also very close to Infosys headquarters gate 9. One of my fav. and rightly so 👍
I was missing Kolkata biriyani so ordered chicken biriyani from here and was happy. It tastes delicious with chicken pieces, egg and potato just like Kolkata .
This is the best place in electronic city for Bengali food. Starting from Chicken Biriyani (Kolkata style), Posto, Muri-ghonto, Luchi-Chicken, Mishti doi everything will make you remember the taste of Bengal. The seating is comfortable, and although the lighting is not that much fabulous but it's perfect for a Bengali eating outlet. Bright lights are preferred in Kolkata against dim lights, while eating.
If you are not a Bengali, do visit the restaurant to get a taste of awesome Bengali food in the most simple style and reasonable price.
This place has awesome music playlist which is worth mentioning.
Get a thali, enjoy the bengali food. Will recommend mutton dish and the paturi. It really taste goods with good quality and quantity. If you are a Bengali it's a must visit.
Food is nice overall... Rather, good food in cheap price ... Biriani is very much like that of Kolkata ... If you're a Bong in Bangalore do pay a visit here if you're missing homely food... :)
When u r far away from Kolkata and missing the potato wala Biriyani do visit here...food's tasted like it came all the way from Kolkata..Must try..
This is one of the places which you'd normally miss if you walked past it. No fancy interiors, no comfy seating, no soft lights. But I'll base my review on what the food here made me feel.
You see, there are only a few places where the food makes you feel right at home. And this is one such place. If you are a Bengali or Assamese person, and are craving for some authentic homemade-feeling food, then this is the place for you. The Chicken Kosha is the go-to food, along with the Mishti Doi. Throw in the Pabda curry and you have a complete dinner. Can also try the fried fish eggs here (Dimer Bora). I loved these so much that I have gone for them every single time.
Bonus: the place has an awesome music playlist, so enjoy the music while you have the oh-so-great food!
Authentic bengali food. Luchi, aloo-r dom, biriani, rosogolla and every bengali food you'd look for, is here and in comparatively cheaper price. Biriani is remarkably good :)
Away from Kolkata and missing Bengalee food?
Not to worry! Delicious Bengalee food is always at a phone call away. Try out Calcutta Cabin.
I tried Mutton Kosha, Bengalee Pulao, Luchi, Dhokar Dalna recently with my friend Shreya Parekh and Iliazuddin Ahmed and my experience was good.
☺️
Awesome bengali food. Value for money. The most interesting part is they serve the Bengali thaali unlike other bengali Restaurants in Bangalore; which pretty much includes all the basic dishes required to complete the meal at a much cheaper rate; would n't require to order separately specially the potato fries (jhuri bhaja).

I like this place, it has been 1 and a 1/2 year since I have been ordering from here, whenever I crave for home food this is the only place I look up to.
Very good restaurant especially fish paturi. The good part is that they are not making fool to people like other bong restaurants in Bangalore...
Macher Jhol and Rosogolla made me feel am back in Bengal. Mshti dahi was also good. Overall good place for Bengalis who craves for Bengali cuisines at affordable prices.
Was good. Nicely packed. Taste was above average as well. Ordered fish thali. It had everything as mentioned and everything was fresh at the same time.
I would say this makes you feel at home away from home 😍. The dishes starting from polou to paturi to ilish mach to alu posto to the kosha pathar mangsho, it acts as a life saver in a place of idlis and dosas. All the dishes were really good but the place is a bit small, would recommend the owner to increase the seating arrangements.
I am a frequent customer of Calcutta Cabin. It's just an awesome place where i get the taste of home made bengali food ; while sitting in Bangalore. Today i ordered 23 plates Biriyani ; it also taste good. So either for daily usage or for party; Calcutta Cabin could be a better choice friends.
Awesome food and delivery. Authentic taste of Kolkata. Each and every food items are served well . Biryani is the most yummy food to try for any Bengali craving for that Kolkata Biriyani.
Being a student-budget-probashi-bangali, this is the best you can get in Bangalore! and, it is indeed better than other restaurants serving Bengali-cuisine, who also charge you big bucks compared to Calcutta Cabin. Been to Durga-Pujo stalls, and other places; didn't find anything better in the city. Mutton Kosha, Pabda Jhal and Bong-Sweets are must try apart from Bengal-style-Chicken Biryani. And the cherry on the pie? they also have their own delivery service till a certain circumference which is indeed even lighter on my wallet. Thanks for making us: refugees! , feel at home through our taste buds.
Very delicious food. Chicken items are yummy. Highly recommended. Bengali people can surely give it a shot. I just hope there are more varieties of sweets and desserts in future.
Once I visited there.. I ordered fish thali n one chicken biryani for my husband.. after long time we felt the Kolkata style flavour in both the foods...As I live in ejipura ,so can't order from this restaurant 😥😥.. Please open any outlet there in Kormangla@rahul Chakraborty

This place is for those who crave for bengali cuisines but cannot afford to go the expensive authentic bengali restaurants.I very good experience, the prices are very competitive and the food quality is also up to the mark.Looking forward to go again .
Perfect place for vegetarians and fish lovers. The place serves authentic bengali food. Vegetarians are not left with any options but whatever I tasted was good too. The veg Thali was quite enjoyable.
The place is very small and may not be able to accomodate many people on a busy day. Ambience is 2.5/5
Amazing biriyani.....i can say the signature dish of this restaurant....the taste and quality of the food is to the mark. The price of the food items are reasonable. Overall experience was nice and it is a place for repeat visits!
The Chicken biryani is to die for ! Made with all the essentials of a bengali styled biryani, this is a must try.
P.S. 1 full plate of biryani is bit less for 2 people.
1- Biriyani- authentic bengali one
2- Mutton - delicious and soft
And at a price point too difficult to resist.
Full biriyani comes at just 150 which i felt too much for a single person, and the half is just 90...
Very satisfied.....
Delicious bengali food at a very reasonable price.
Ek baar khaaoge...baar baar aaoge. You may have to wait for sometime to get seats...but believe me, it is worth waiting. One of the best places in Bangalore I have been to.

If u r a Bengali u will always try to find out aloo in ur Biryani so am I ☺️
Food :- That's what I found here a quintessential Bengali Biriyani far away from Kolkata in a reasonable price. The portion is quite large so if u r not super hungry go for the half plate one. It comes with a egg, 1 aloo and one chicken piece of moderate size. They don't serve half plate mutton Biriyani 😢
The next time I would like to visit the place to have variety of fishes though I found it a little costly
Service :- Service was good. The food comes within 15 mind generally. The staffs were courteous.
Ambience :- The space is very small so don't have high expectations. I feel the place can be cleaner ☺️
Awesome tantalising dishes and authentic taste of Bengal. The best place in Bangalore for pampering your Bong taste buds. The ambience and especially the hospitality of the people over there will definitely impress you . A great salute to Deep - a successful entrepreneur.
Mutton is the best take. I admire original mutton so I can say that...Also fish fry n bheti paturi are worth trying.
Kheer and rasgulla are my take in sweets.
All-over a perfect bet for bengali dish lovers and mutton lovers.
Excellent food... Biryani taste is just like Kolkata Biryani and even tastes much better than average Kolkata restaurants' Biryani too ... In Bangalore, it is the best Kolkata-styled Biryani available telling keeping in mind Zeeshan and few Bengali-run restaurants in Marathalli/ BTM/Koramangala area. Its mutton kasha also is quite good and reminds of Aminia Mutton chap to a large extent. Biryani cook is excellent and everybody should try once to experience what is Kolkata-styled Biryani ...
Im lucky to eat at places which have great food and great stories at reasonable prices.
If you are looking for lip smacking Bengali food this is the place to go.
The owner is a professional aeronautical engineer and runs this place as well. He helped us figure out what to eat as we wanted to have only veg food.
We had the parathas (hot, soft, yummy); alu poshto and aloo gobhi. Both the dishes were cooked to perfection.
Quantity is very large- hence be careful while ordering as u might end up ordering too much. Also they serve certain food items on specific days. Like luchi is on sat and tuesday only. The pricing is very reasonable. Its a very small outlet, with basic furniture and loud music.
Moat def recommend this place!
Very homely food! Ordered mutton thali and paabda Maach. Both were awesome with mutton being the cherry on top. Thali had a variety of dishes to offer.

If u r carving for Bengali food n missing home made food from Kolkata den I must tell you this is the place..I personally tried alu posto and I also tried chicken biryani which exactly tastes like Kolkata.
Must visit😊
Aloo poshto and juri bhaja are to die for. Luci aloo, whenever it's available, is excellent. The veg thali is what I order most often, and would totally recommend it. Deep, the owner, is super friendly.
In search of good old Calcutta biryani, we landed up here. And yes they did justice to it although the rice used wasnt the one we have back in Calcutta. The gobindo bhog payesh was a cherry on top.
Good homely Bengali food. Just the way I like it. Their portions are a little small but then prices are relatively low too. Do try the Kalia and the Kolkata Biryani
It's not often you come across a place that serves more than decent Bengali fare in Bangalore (at least I haven't). Calcutta Cabin serves that purpose. Nestled between larger chains of restaurants, this is a very easy to miss place. At first glance, the ambiance appears a bit cramped, but the food makes you forget about the ambiance.
While we (me and my regular lunch group) haven't really had a lot of stuff from the menu, we have had the essentials. The fish curry is great and goes well with a bowl of rice. The thala (or thali as it is colloquially known across India) is worth the money as well. The Mutton Kosa is lip-smackingly tasty, but, at times, contains more bones than meat. But that is a minor quibble.
Overall, this place serves fairly authentic Kolkata food (as testified by a colleague who hails from the place), and is worth the money.
Good bengali food. Biriyani is okay. You get the feel but something is missing somethimes. For example.. rice grains need to be of better quality. The special bengali biriyani alu needs to be of full size rather than a broken piece. And it should be a proper dum biriyani with not so much of oil sticking out.
I love the thali and paturi here. Mutton thali is amazing! The chutney reminds you of home and you keep craving for more.
This place is just 99% satisfaction. Quality is as good as the quantity. This is not a place only for bengalis its a must try for everyone. It's not expensive at all but best.
I like the food..!!
I went many times and I am getting bengali food like home food at Bangalore, I am happy..!!
I want home delivery at my location.
I request Zomato to deliver at my location (Singasandra) as well so that I can have this food more and more ..!!
Awesome bengali food and decent clean restaurant. Must visit for all bengali food lovers. Price to quality ratio is excellent. They add Aalu in Biriani too

The restaurant keep up to its name... Classical Bengali food with enough portion that can be shared.. Rice, Mutton Jhol, Mutton Kosha, Mango chutney... just worth a visit
I was frequenting this place ever since it opened and until I shifted out of E-City recently.
The constant dish here was the Chicken Biryani and the occasional Chicken Kosha. Don't expect a fine dine experience here, it is a compact place whose clientele has been ever increasing. So walk in, find your seat, get served soon and be ready to make way to the next diner immediately after you are done.
The biryani is out of the world, and not like a the regular Kolkata biryani, but with a little upgrade.
Biryani + Gravy here is therapy of sorts!
We went here looking for authentic bengali food and we werent dissappointed. we have become routine once-a-week customers now. Appreciate the services and extra efforts put in by the team to ensure customer leaves the place happy and satisfied. Keep up the good work
Authentic Bengali style biriyani at affordable price along with other delicious Bengali dishes .... One of my favorite restaurants in e-city ...
I had a craving for some delicious Bengali cuisine since a very long time. Found this place on Zomato. Went here for Lunch. A very small place with 4-5 tables arranged in a clumsy way. As it was Bengali New Year that day, it was very crowded. But luckily, I found a table. I had Catla fish jhol and mutton jhol which were really very tasty. And I ended my meal with roshogulla which was even more fabulous! You won't find any ambiance or anything in this place, but if you want to have some good food, this is the perfect place.
(Heavy taste... ) Only Bengalis will know what I mean by that.Authentic Bengali Restaurant.pocket friendlyAwesome TasteIf you have it.... you will want for more.
There is nothing to say about the taste of food. I ordered the food home on bengali nobo borsho(new year) for lunch and it made my day. The first time I tasted a spoonful of the kosha mutton curry, it took me back to my home in Kolkata. A perfect blend of spices, a 5 for the mutton kosha. The chingri malaicurry on tasting made me jump with happiness for having tasted a prawn preparation in bengali style after so long. The only thing is that the black vein in the prawn was not removed from some prawns and had to be removed at home. The quantity of curry will serve two. Price is pretty pocket friendly compared to other places that serve bengali food. I am looking forward to visiting this place to satiate my craving for bengali food more often.
I order chicken biryani once every week. Totally in love with the quality of the food and specially because i love boiled potato wala Kolkata biryani (Bong cravings). And also they never fail to deliver food in the said time. :):)
:(:( But I ask for an extra potato other than the one already present in the biryani. They will never provide though. I have been putting it in the comments from last 5 times. I order biryani from this place specially because of the aloo, otherwise i can get it for much lesser price nearby my house. Now its the 5th time today. Really disappointed :(:(
I have tried mutton curry, veg thali, bengali pulao. Loved every dish. Just this aloo matter broke my heart. ((Only a true bong foodie would understand :D))
A nice and cozy place right in the heart of Electronic City. The food here is really good and tasty. The price is reasonable considering the quality and quantity offered. Will be visiting frequently.
The perfect bengali ambience with the taste of authentic bengali cuisine. The Bengali delicacies are served in the exact way you would have wanted. My all time favourite dig-in in Bangalore.
P.S. You cannot miss the Biriyani, basanti pulao, bhetki paturi and chicken kosha. Oh, also the Bengali Rasogolla..
Me and my friend went for dinner there. Order chicken biriyani and mutton kosha. Chicken biriyani is not a Kolkata one. Most like ambur biriyani with Kolkata ALU and chicken. No egg is there. But mutton kosa is good, but that also not authentic kosa. Mostly test like a rezala. Food is good, but a Bengali or Kolkata style.
Talk about Bengali Food....This is the authenticated place for that.
Good Behaviour
Awesome Taste
Felt Like Bengal
🍻
Keep up the good work Calcutta Cabin
Authentic Bengali food destination in Electronic City, Bangalore. The food is delicious reminding you of your roots. The price is reasonable. The ambience and hospitality takes you back to Kolkata. Friendly staff and management which will compel you to keep revisiting.
Nice food and taste exactly like Uthentic Bengali food. Fish was very good and kata chochodi was also delicious. But need to improve on tomato chatni.
Snacks are also good.
Liked the food...good quantity and Macher jhol actually tasted like it should..loved the jhuri baja too.If in the mood for bengali food like I was today then do go for it...tasty and well prepared . One issue is that online delivery wasn't functional during the day so no way to satisfy lunch cravings. ...
You have a very high benchmark for Bengali foods especially when you belong to Kolkata. No doubt this restaurant is serving good Bengali food but don't compare it with Kolkata. I would recommend it atleast for try
Food - 3.5/5
Staff - 4/5
when u feel homesick this is where u need to go... authentic bengali food and no compromise with the taste. the mutton is to die for. though i would prefer the prices to drop a little as that would increase the traffic more. overall a good destination for all craving a taste of kolkata.
If you are a Bengali you may have already visited this place and if you are not a Bengali, you should visit this restaurant. Calcutta cabin will provide you with decent quality of food with great quantity and reasonable price. It is cheaper and better than other Bengali food joints in this area. If you crave for something spicy and different from your daily routine food, order here! The ambience is not so good but surely the quantity and quality is fair enough.
Must go for Biryani if you like spicy non-veg. Thalis here are also nice. Vegetarian thali is delicious as well!

One of the best and pocket friendly place to have good food in Electronic City. Food quality is great, so is customer service. I can feel the Bengali flavour in their food.
Food was good.. Good to see a restaurant serving authentic Bengali food in Electronics city. Loved the fish, loved the chicken, loved the mutton.. loved the veg dishes as well. But most importantly loved the "aloo" in the biryani.. :D
Very reasonably priced food. Good biryani, not too spicy but with lots of flavours.
Fish fry really cooked well with less spices, but tastes good with lemon.
One of the best pocket-friendly restaurants which serves so tasty Bengali cuisine. Having their Chicken Biriyani reminds me of being in Kolkata. Bhekti paturi was finger-licking good and specially the jhurjuri aloo bhaja. Plus point : The atmosphere on a Sunday afternoon was similar to that of being in Kolkata with Anjan Dutta's BELA BOSH been played in back-ground alongwith the staff's behavior been so friendly. A must go for all Bengalis @ E-City.
I am editing my first review as I am unable to submit more than 1 review for the same resturant. Ordered for the second time with some different items. Taste is as usual quite authentic. Big shout out is that Calcutta Cabin has again delivered it by themselves even though my house is beyond Zomato's delivery radius from the resturant!!! Great Work!! Great Food!!
Ordered food through Zomato but delivery address was beyond Zomato's delivery radius from the restaurant. Calcutta Cabin still delivered it by themselves.
Now coming to the food. We ordered Chicken Mughlai Paratha, Shorshe Catla and Mutton Kosha. All the items were very good and quite authentic in taste. The quantity of each dish was quite good compared to the price. We will definitely order again.
Delivery: 5/5
Taste: 4/5

Value for money: 4.5/5
Probably the most authentic Bengali food I have had so far is at this place. How did I reach this conclusion? The amount of mustard one of the dishes had gave it away and did I relish it or what. A tiny place, probably a little bigger than a booth but serves good food. We tried the mutton thali, biriyani and a fish fried in a banana leaf(the dish with the amazing amount of mustard). Loved the place. Parking might be an issue and the place only has around 5 or six tables.
This place is a home away from home if you are craving for some Bengali cuisine..
i was taken aback by the awesome taste of fish curry.
I had ordered for the Fish thali one afternoon and the delivery was made on time .. liked the tomato chutney and the mix veg and fried potato fingers.. our second time thali order had mudi ghanto as well..
Wish if the oil usage in the fish curry is reduced , it would still be tasty and be awesome bengali food..
Belonging to the east of India you would definitely appreciate the simple yet good restra who have made efforts to bring bengali food to your homes..
Looking forward to try some Jhinga Posto as well in future..😋😋
It's a home away home.... I tried a few items over here.... All are homely n fresh..I just love their chicken Kotha... . Nothing much to say.. Keep going :-)
Im regular here, not coz the owner is very pleasant and interactive, not coz it serves bengali food. But coz I love its food as it never failed to tantalize my test buds. Seats are less so suggest u to pack ur food. Do try the fish patury that fish crooked in banana leaf , and mutton kasha.

This is a very new restaurant serving Bengali cuisine in Ecity. The food feels very homely. I love it because this small food joint gives a chance have proper Bengali food .
Nice place to enjoy bengali cuisine. Ambience is not that great. But the food is really good. It is very cheap and tasty as well. Try the Calcutta Chicken Biriyani
Delicious bengali food available, here. Flexible timing and availability. Bengali food with homely ambiance are main two attractive features here. We, the bengalies EC shouldn't roam around here and there in holidays for a change in taste........... :-)
One of d best places to have Bengali food in E city.. They have a plethora of cuisines.. We ordered chicken biriyani and fish meal. Surprisingly they serve Aloo in d biriyani. Yes,just the way they do in Kolkata. The same delicious taste and that reminds of Kolkata. They make sukto as well and amazingly tasty. Pocket friendly Nd no Taxes applied. Additionally they are open on Sundays as well.Very happy to find such a plain e city.. Thanks to Rashmilla for the lead... Simply loved the food
Calcutta Cabin... no other name to suggest if you want to have good quality food and ignite the bangaliana in yorself at a resonable rate. Must mention the Biriyani with aloo that was of no match to any other biriyani. It also caters super fine thalis that will remind you of calcutta nostalgia. ROSOGOLLA and PANTUA/GulabJamun is a must to revive the bangaliana.
The best Bengali restaurant in Electronic city rather I would say in Bangalore. Amazing bengali food. Tastes like home cooked food. Simple yet amazing. Best Biriyani. Must visit to try out something new yet authentic.
Been there. Had biriyani. First time in Bangalore I hv got the real taste of Biriyani. Definitely you will not get that taste of Arsalan bt m sure u wl love it with Bengali's favourite Aloo. The restaurant is bit small bt u wl like the food.
Awesome Bengali food joint, truly the best in Electronic City. Biriyani is too good, authentic Kolkata style. Also the mutton Thali. Hope to try all other dishes soon ;)
Have been eating at this place since the first day it opened.. they serve our very own kolkata biriyani (the aloo makes my day)... They have started selling mughalai paratha.. they are awesome too.. better you call up this place before you visit.. as biriyani is always on high demand and by 8.30 in the evening they generally run out of biriyani.. amidst my craze for biriyani i forgot to mention about their vetki paturi and rashogolla.. they are good too.. the owner is always there and will keep playing bengali songs on his JBL speakers :-D :-P
Excellent quality of Food in more than sufficient amount.... Overjoyed to have a such beautiful restaurant nearby.... Jai bolo kaka Bangali khabar e tulona hoy e na 👌🏻👌🏻
Excellent taste, Very good Portion sizes, Chicken Kosha and Chicken Duk Banglow were really tasty. Fried fish was superb. Must try place for Bengali food
Tried fish fry, chilli fish dry, rumali ruti, chicken bharta, and mutton biryani. Everything was a 5/5. Owner is extremely hospitable & place is quite affordable.
Food was really good.Ambience could be a bit better and little faster service.
Thali options are good. Mughlai parota is not up to the mark. Even don’t provide the traditional sabji with Mughlai Parota. They provide their dum aloo with it.
Tried Katla jol thali and mughlai parota. Stock is less. If you go after 2 pm and all you will not get most of the items. The snacks and started items are for evening only. Lunch time you won’t get.
Regarding ambience its not a fine dine restaurant, so don’t expect too much. It’s simply like cabin type restaurants in Kolkata. Normal ‘vater hotel’. But thalis are good (however it’s not like Sorse, they charge much much greater) so considering the cost it a good one. I found it pocket friendly also.
Food : 5 stars
Ambiance: 3 stars
Service : 3 stars
Ate egg tadka and rumali roti, recommended.
I loved the place. It's on a good location very close to HSR layout and the food is also nice. The hospitality is awesome and staffs are friendly. The price is decent for your meal. You'll get good Bengali food of all types here. Lunch, snacks and dinner is available. Only breakfast is not available. The shop opens at 11:30 am in the morning and runs till 11:30 pm at night. Good one. Overall experience is pleasing since I had dined in 4-5 times in this week itself. 1st week of April. Pocket pinch per person is Rs 200-300.
Prithu Da (owner) is really good. The food is also very good. Must try the basanti pulao with mutton dukbunglow
Best place to have Bengali food... reasonable prices
Great place for Bengali dishes with reasonable price
Mind blowing food tests and
Quantity also good budget friendly
Homely atmosphere. All types of Bengali dishes available. Pocket friendly.
Very good.
