I am fan of Indian food I like normal roti sabji chawal dal more than anything I visited this place with my family more than 5 times I just love the food gives like ghar ka khana ka taste love it 💓😃
One of my favourite places to eat a good Punjabi meal! It's absolutely brilliant, what I ate here and the staff too were incredible!
We went to Baba Chatkora during the afternoon of a weekday and it was still bustling away to glory! We figured why - they serve some really amazing food!
For starters we ordered the Masala Rumali which was nothing but Aloo Bhujia, tomatoes, onion and some coriander held together by a gigantic rumali cooked to a crisp! Perfect starter to dig into while friends and family come together to decide the next few dishes they want to have.
The Lassi that they serve in earthen pots, is simply divine! They source pure buffalo milk, using which they make their curd and paneer. What's also interesting is that, the earthen pots are yours to keep because Baba Chatkora doesn't reuse them for the next batch of lassi. Enjoy this creamy goodness, and take the pot with you!
We also ordered the sizzler that came with a little bit of minty paneer and some soya that tasted EXACTLY like chicken!
My favourite was their BC Kulcha which was nothing short of extraordinary! The kulcha was nice and flaky, and slathered with a copious amount of butter. What's even amazing is that, you get some more butter to slather on, in case what they had already put wasn't enough. To go with it, was the Chole and the Pudhina chutney. The chutney had a nice twangy twist that ties the whole dish together. I simply LOVED this dish!
We ended the meal with some Paneer Tikka Biryani which is supposed to beat any other biryani that ever exists! Do check this link out to see what we thought about it:

So, we had been here about a week ago and it was the best decision. The place is clean and hygienic. The food is of amazing quality. The staff are very friendly. First we ordered cheese Paratha which is overpriced but it is worth it. The sides they give with the Paratha are delicious. The chole and a tangy tamarind kind syrup. It was yum. Then we ordered paneer tikka biryani which was again delicious! We thought we couldn't finish it when we saw the waiter getting it to our table but we don't even know when we finished it. 🤷 At last we ordered matka lassi which we couldn't finish after that heavy food. There were two of us and the bill was around 750. It was quality, delicious and definitely want to try again food! Just visit this place you guys! You'll love it. It is a bit overpriced but it is worth it.
Nice ambiance and courteous staff. Price on a higher side but delicious food worth every penny.
I went randomly there but , after seeing the interior I was in love with restaurant ..... Than I ordered BC kulcha which was amazing like Kulcha of Indian team.... Two of my South Indian team mate were there with me they were in love with food
Will visit again
BC inne channge kulche sadde dilli vich ni milde.... Super awesome Chhole Chatni. Dahi ke Sholay is just out of the world. Try with buttermilk
Awesome taste of food, highly recommended for north Indian taste for experience. Marvelous ambience and polite and friendly service. It was random selection but it turned to be be foody day. Thanks 😘
Baba Chatkora is a cozy restaurant located in JP nagar which will give you a glimpse of Punjab, not only in their food but also their ambience. The truck at the billing counter reminds you of the Dhaba you visited, the servers tease you with 'Enna hi Khaoge' when you ask for the bill and the multi-handed omnipresent Baba reminds you why you need more hands - to eat with all of them, of course!
Being from Maharashtra we were craving some amazing North Indian food since we moved to Banaglore and after some time Zomato-ing we found this highly recommended place and decided to give it a try. Only problem - it was more than an hour away in peak Bangalore traffic AND I had no headphones to listen to the Google aunty give me directions to this place. But only the brave face the tempest and only the Bhukkads face the Bangalore traffic wrath in want of some good food. And boy was it worth it!
Coming to what we had :
1. Dahi ke kebabs : Kebabs made from hung curd - they were the right amount of sweet, melt in your mouth crispy deliciousness which were also very filling. Served with mayonnaise and tangy green chutney it was a good start to the evening.
2. Matka lassi : I expected a tall clay glass of lassi but when I got a small matka, I was a bit disappointed. It felt like they had served dahi in a matka but as soon as I tasted it, I knew I couldn't have been more wrong. The amount served was perfect, any more and it would have been too much. It was thick, authentic Punjabi Lassi.
3. Veg Handi : The server suggested this as the main course since we said we wanted something medium spicy with thick gravy. The main course came with a bit of salad and vegetable raita. This was the show stopper for us since it was spicy, yet not too spicy and had a 'chatpata' flavor to it.
The servers were very polite and would serve you with a homely smile.
The only negative I felt was the menu was a little limited (good food is never enough) and we had few options to choose from. All in all I definitely recommend it to everyone wanting a taste of the North in Namma Bengaluru.
Great place to have a good time with family and friends. Loved the variety of dishes available. Courteous staff and beautiful themed decor. Will definitely visit again. Keep up the good work.
The food here is amazing! If you are searching for some lip smacking North Indian food, this is the place to be!!
Loved everything in this place. A little expensive but worth the calories and the price.
Amazing place for finest food. Good ambience with blending colours and theme of punjabi.
With great taste and value for money. Hospitality was fantastic.
On a weekday - that's when you should be going to this place because it is unlikely that you are going to get a seat on a weekend! Yes, it's a rather nice - good food, prompt and efficient service, and it's not going to put a big hole in your pocket. So, in short, what's not to like about this place?
We ordered for the thalis - and they have a wide range there. So, you can have your pick and choose what suits your appetite and taste. And then the paneer, chicken, naans and the usual lot.
P.S. I ordered for a Chilli Parantha (pic attached) which looks all green and spicy. But is probably the best instance of 'deceptive looks'. The thingy was nothing close to spicy :)
Punjab ki yaad dila di! Amazing punjabi food! Would love to come again.
It is a small place with beautiful decor and Punjabi vibe. We had to wait 30 mints to get table on satarday night. We ordered a starter platter, different flavoured sikanji, dhaba special paneer, Dal tadka, garlic naan and mixed kulcha and rumali masala papad. The papad is very different and big one. It's rounded with masalas in the centre. Chaaps are also good in taste. Paneer malai tikka is very tasty in the starter platter. Dhaba special paneer is just fine whereas the Dal tadka is very yummy. The kulchas are too heavy and is enough for two people. I loved the garlic naan. Service is also fine. Overall a nice place to go with family as well.
Food instantly upset mine n my husbands stomach that er have tu rush home n all night v were struggling.had to hve eno to stop the heaviness.the manager’s attitude too was quite rude.two ladies in the table nxt to us asked him to bring hot dal not cold and he got angry.2nd time around they had to request for hot kulcha too.dont know about other food thre but the amritsari chaap v had didn’t suit us
A small place but beautiful ambiance with awesome lines written here and there on their walls. They also have a front of a truck as their reception area. Their Maharaj kabab platter had lots of variety. Do try their BC kulche, it was crispy and yum. Also their Saahi Thali was heavy. Overall a good place to try Veg Punjabi food.
One of the good restaurants for pure veg north indian food. Limited items in the menu. Tried mix veg soup, stuffed achari soya chaap and veg gravy with tandoori roti. Food was good. Must try place.
5* rating for my first visit to baba chatkora... After coming to Bengaluru first ever had good food, it was so soothing and satisfying for me. Well I had a basic thali there which comprises of paneer butter masala, baingan bharta, dal tadka, tandoori roti and rice... The taste and masalas of every item were perfectly balanced.. and I had veg biryani which was so far the best biryani and I would say it's a must try there I just loved how they maintained the juicy and spicy flavors.. and at last mango lassi... One word for it... Wonderful
And 4*rating for my second visit.. it was quite disappointing.. I had soya masala chaap which tasted tangy and spicy from outside but from inside it was little bland...
Great music, feels like home in Bangalore
Authentic taste, good food
One of the best places in Bangalore for authentic Punjabi food. Tried many Punjabi places here, but couldn't find one that parallels the exquisite Amritsari kulcha and this place does it the best !!
The giant baked papad, Afghani soya chaap, Paneer Tikka and BC kulcha with Dal Makhani add on are among the must haves. And the creamy mango lassi to end the meal.
Overall, an awesome place for a delectable, sumptuous Punjabi meal !
Ambience - 4/5

It was Thursday evening and I eat veg on Thursdays.. the taste was so heavenly that I would never underestimate the power of veg cuisine .. tried chaaps (made with soya) and i can say world is much better without nonveg food must try if your are in Bangalore
So,been here twice. Amazing North Indian food, do try their BC Kulcha. There many thali varieties also to choose from.
It’s the place to satiate your taste buds.
Great food.
There is no other like Baba Chatkora that serves this quality of North Indian veg food. Tried their Independence day special - the tiranga platter, and I can tell its the best I have had till now. Special mention to their amazing hospitality. My family and I had a great experience. Will visit soon!
Food was delicious😋 , especially I liked matka lassi at this place.
Table Pre booking is recommended as place is crowded on weekend nights
One of the best places to try authentic Punjabi food. We ordered Masala Chaap, BC Malai Chaap and they were mouth-watering. They have the best kulchas. If you want the combos you can try the Pind Di Thali and Daal Makhani Combo.
They have a warm and cosy place which is good for family and friends.
You have to try the Maharaja Platter which is really good, while you are there they have some specialities like BC Kulcha, Afghani Chaap which are very tasty.
You will get a happy ending with Matka Lassi, Phirni.
They also have a very friendly staff.
I have been here with friends and then with family, the food is amazing and just like how Punjabi food should be, lots of butter as expected.
Loved my experience and would recommend everyone to try out
if you are looking for punjabi food in the city..
this is THE place for you! ,for sure
you will love the taste, ambience and thier service.👍
After really long long been Bangalore first time ever got to taste authentic punjabi food.
This place is at prime location of JP nagar. When you enter the graffiti on walls like “Jee aaya nu” and “ki banu duniya da” is catchy and so so nostalgic!!!
Such a warm ambiance and lip smacking food.
Trust me the bestest kulchas, chaap and lassi I have ever had in a while.
Don’t miss to try thr shikanjvi!!!
Not to be missed by true food lover!
All said and done, this is the best north indian food joint in Bangalore. Their dal makhani is a trip to heaven, and while we had to wait for quite some time today afternoon - we were left happy and completely contended with the food. Brownie points to the service staff and management for maintaining such a huge crowd. Good job guys! will visit again very soon!
Authentic Punjabi and North Indian food. Felt like being in Punjab as the food reminded me of my days in Amritsar back in the days.
Do try Kadhai Chaap Combo and Firni. The Paneer is extremely soft and fresh. Never had any paneer dish like this.
Do note that weekends are quite rush do reserve a table before going.
For all the hype this place has come through in all ways.
Be it service, food or the ambience (Dhaba Style).
Must try
1. Starters - Chaaps and Masala Roomali
2. Main course - Kulchas and Biryani
3. Desserts / Drinks - Mango Lassi and Gulab Jamoon.
I would give 5/5 overall experience for a nice family outing.
Great place, food and service. Owner / manager ensured we got vegan versions. Kind service. Rajma and masala chaap were awesome. Nice place to know in S Bangalore! Simple, no fuss place.

Superb se be upper,, nice place for Punjabi aunthantic food good service nice ambiance over all 100 out of 100 mangolassi and there chaps pander is mouth melting
Tried their matka lassi n even took one parcel instantly cos it was the best ever I had, coming to others...mushrooms were yum n rotis n accompaniments were equally good, though not a fan of dhaba kinda ambience, this is one worth a try.
Baba Chatkora was started to bring the homely feel of Punjab into our Garden City. In a move to give vegetarians the authentic punjabi culinary experience, they started off with a limited menu which was a hit and now they have over 60 dishes on the menu!
We started our meal with Matka lassi which was uber creamy, refreshing and most importantly, delicious. Followed with a popular starter called Masala Roomali which was crunchy and tangy.
After that, we had the cheese tandoori chaap which was something I’ve never had before. Known as the vegetarian meat, Sahil told us about how customers would call him and complain about serving meat at a vegetarian restaurant, to which he had to explain what it was! 😂
Coming to the highlight of my afternoon - grilled paneer biryani and grilled chaap biryani! Yes, for the longest time people have debated whether there was such a thing as Veg Biryani. But yesterday, Baba Chatkora came through and offered us such delicious biryanis. The paneer was made in-house and is easily the best paneer I’ve had till date. Made using buffalo’s milk, it was soft and creamy unlike anything I’ve had before. The biryani was rich and nothing like a vegetable pulao. The spices made a colossal difference and impressed me! Take it from me, someone who wouldn’t usually step into a veg restaurant if I were given an option but this place changed that for me yesterday. Now, while I write this, I’m thinking about the biryani and planning my next visit to try their ever famous Amritsari Kulcha!
Whenever we are in the mood for some desi punjabi khaana, this place is where we head to. This is a no muss no fuss kinda place. Their meal options are quite popular and they are quite delicious and filling. Their Lassi is really nice and one of our favourites. The Malai Paneer Tikka was good and flavourful. Overall, it is always a good meal experience here. I will keep going back here and would surely recommend this place.
Am in love with this place! After a lot of pondering I finally visited this place two weeks ago and have already been there twice!
I tried the Tawa paneer kurchan which is to die for- amazing flavour and succulent paneer! I liked the matka lassi.
Malai paneer tikka was amazing. The place got pretty crowded after we sat but the food was great.
I want to try everything on their menu, can’t wait to go back!
Super se be upper one of the best resturant in banglore to have punjabi cusine especially amritsari kulchas( BC kulcha) and the lassi is is the punching taste

Yummy food near authentic Punjabi dishes ...
Try their makki di roti and sarso da saag (seasonal).... Take a chaap platter and so try paneer tikka masala.... Their menu says it's spicy but ain't that spicy...
Do try their different breads like kulcha, lacha Paratha and mirchi roti... They too were good....
The only problem is it that place is over priced....
My friend brought me here & I must say this place is perfect for a family get together or a casual get-together with your friend.
Coming straight to the food, the tandoori gobi for starters was a surprise as it was simply delectable. For the mains the pindi di thali consisted mainly of the rotis & white rice along with the sides. The sides were good & I personally liked the dal tadka with the rice. My friend loved the dal makhani which comes with the shahi thali. The matka lassi is something you shouldn't miss at the end.
Decent veg punjabi food around Jp nagar vicinity , got to taste maharaja thali and Makki ki roti with sarson ka saag, taste was decent though it took longer time to get food on table taste was good
Good authentic North Indian food. Loved the Aam panna
Nice ambience but the food is not so tasty.

Loved this place.
Family friendly.
Matka lassi is so filling.
Liked the rumali masala papad it was so huge, looked good on the table and tasted even better.
Soya chaap was fantastic and one of a kind.
A must-visit restaurant in "Namma Bengaluru".
A life-savior place for people who struggle to find authentic Punjabi flavors.
I ordered dhaba-style paneer, masala papad, tandoori roti, gobi aloo, and kadi chawal - this tasted amazing and reminded me of home.
Sacchi yaar, Maza hi aa gaya❤️😍
A tasty Punjabi restaurant in Jayanagar. But the quantity is less than expected. Also a bit expensive. The staff is friendly.
Right on the main road, it is very accessible and easily identifiable. We had ordered paneer tikka masala, laccha Paratha, dahi kebab, paneer kebab and lassi and soup to start with. The food was scrumptious though the dishes weren't spicy so that was good. Since we went on a weekday, parking was available and the service was fast.
Nice ambience good quality of food but prices are a little high so giving 4 ⭐
The restaurant ambience is such cozy kind
Wow felt very much warmth and feels like I was in north Dhaba 🔥
Food everything is so delicious and quantity is more that one person can never finish one dish
The person will take home parcel any one of the dish for sure 👌🏼 so is the quantity
I recommend RUMALI masala papad
ONION KULCHA
MASALA CHAP
AND FINALLY LASSI
Everything is too good
Food is delicious, we ordered afghani soya chaap, dal angara, paneer lababdaar, taste was very good
Visited month: Nov 2022
Overall rating: 4.5
Place is near busy main road of RV dental college. They serve vegetarian Punjabi food.
Small place but serves tasty food.
Best part is their service, they are very kind and calm staff. They do explain well to customers about their dish before we order.
Mahaveer guided us well and keep up the smiling face always.
Food options: 4.5/5
Taste: 4.5/5
Service: 5/5
Parking: road side
Kulcha’s, dal makhani, Dahi ki kabab are my fav in this place.
This place serves authentic North Indian food in the southern city of Bangalore. Ambience of the place is decent. One can feel the Punjabi vibe in the restaurant. The quality and quantity of the food is really good. The only hitch is that it is a tad expensive. All in all must place to visit and have a fantabulous experience of dining.
Food is really amazing...sizzler cheese soya chap was mind blowing..soft nd creamy.... worth the money...then comes star item Mix kulcha was big nd tasty....matka lassi was small but really worth to try....service was lil disappointed otherwise i can say it's a worth to visit when u crave for Punjabi food 💕
Their starters are the tastiest Veg starters I've eaten. The Panneer they serve makes you wonder if it is made out of foam, that soft it is. They could work on Rajma Masala though. It was 4 of us and we spent around 1500 INR for two starters, four Roti & a Rice & Rajma Masala. Will surely revisit for their Veg starters. Oh and the staff is very courteous.
This review is for, officially the first Pure Veg Restaurant visited by me. The food I had was Dahi ke kebab, Mix kulcha and soya chap+ butter naan combo.
The food is priced @1200 for 2.
Now, in terms of taste and quantity, this place can really fill you up to the brim with quite tasty food. The service is very prompt. The atmosphere has areas to be improved (let me leave this topic at that).
PS- you don't want to miss out on their dahi ke kebab (It's a must have!)(6pcs per plate)
If you’re looking for authentic Punjabi and North Indian food then Baba Punjabi in JP nagar is a must try
The quirky, colourful ambience and large tables make it perfect for family style dining.
Service is very polite and friendly.
In food I recommend
• Rumali Tokri which is a crisp rumali roti that is spiced and topped with onion, tomato and sev. Tastes like masala papad but it’s a rumali roti. This is their signature dish, don’t miss it
• Dahi kebab. It’s honestly one of the softest and creamiest dahi kebabs I’ve had. Tasted amazing.
• Afghani chaap. The soya chaap here is super soft and melt in the mouth. It’s grilled in the tandoor and then coated in a sauce.
• Amritsari Kulche with chole. These kulchas were stuffed with potato and paneer and tasted heavenly with the richly spiced chole. Topped with pure butter.
• Lassi is something that shouldn’t be missed out here, it’s very thick and perfectly sweetened
Overall amazing place for Punjabi food. Highly recommend it.
