A pocket friendly place for sea food lovers. Menu is not vast though. Fish meals is definitely worth the bet. Be it Chapati/Mudde combo. Buttermilk they serve for 10rs is insane. It’s fresh & thick as milk. Must try. Prawns fry is worth a try. Seer fish fry was of oil fry and not tawa which is a drawback.
Ambience is good. Well maintained by KFDC. Not much crowded on a Saturday afternoon. Worth another visit.

Dont b deceived looking at the queue, the counter staffs as well as staffs serving food are quiet fast.
If you are hygiene freak then you may wana watch out but are well maintained than the road side vendors.
We had sumptuous fish thali served with a decent amount of white rice and mangalore style mackerel curry and ragi ball along with mackerel fry.
All in all peaceful lunch that you wont regret.

I have been to Cubbon park multiple times, and I regularly go for jogging on weekends but i have never noticed this restaurant until I my friend took me there this sunday. It gave me the feel of being in some Government office canteen. Fish they served here are fresh & tasty and prices are comparatively low.
Wonder why the place is not listed in the pocket friendly places of Bangalore, fish, crab, prawns at 130/-, crazy! A big thank you to the government fishery department for fixing such a nominal price and providing such decent food. Have become a regular to this place, not great on the ambiance bit, but fish craving takes me to this place all the time, respect earned from my side.
Perfect place for fish lovers. This is not a fancy place with a good ambiance, but a place where u run during ur busy day, have amazing food at very affordable prices and feel good about it. North indian food lovers stay away. This is purely for non veg eating South indian food lovers.

This place is legendary for sea food lovers in Bangalore. It was and is favorite for many people for many reasons. It's situated inside cubbon park so you might want to take some time in finding it. And also its maintained by karnataka state fisheries dept corporation (kfdc) so you can't expect it to shine like a themed restopub or five star hotel. Going here from almost 8 years now so I've witnessed the change in menu and place setting over the years. Ask for that days special before you order but normally fried prawns, fried fish with ragi mudde should be enough for a fully grown sea food lover. Ironically you can also buy fishes in next compound where they have fish store also maintained by kfdc. Place worth visiting again n again.

Finally had lunch at the legendary sea food canteen in cubbon park run by the government. Been wanting to come here since long and somehow never happened until now.
It amazing - the numbers they cater to. We stood in line to buy the coupon for around 10 mins and then 10 mins at the food counter. For the meals you have a choice of rice with chapathi/Ragi mudde and fish curry. We opted for the chapathi combo with some sear fish fry and prawn fry. All the fry's have no artificial color added which is very pleasing. The prawns were cooked to perfection and tasted yummy. Fish curry was excellent combination with the boiled rice. but the sear fish was a little bland-lack of spice.
Must mentioned the well seasoned buttermilk which was perfect with the meal.
They should focus on the hygiene part.(paper cups to replace the current plastic reusable ones)
But hands down this is the best fish meal I have ever had for the price (90 Rs).
I Recommend this place for all the fish lovers!!

This place definitely needs some marketing for the good food. come on!! it's the only government run seafood joint in city which caters to such huge crowd - worth a try. I am coming back soon for sure.
Fried fish hankering? Give this place a shot. From the spicy flavour to the deep fried chunks, you get to savour it all. With a canteen like layout, and dishes like squids too (too bad it wasn't available at that time) this place surprised us.
Contrary to my expectations, the place was neat and nice. We ordered the thali and it was quite filling. A thali consists of a moderately-sized ragi ball, rice, fish curry, rasam, and curd--all at the price of Rs. 90.
For the price, it's a filling and delicious meal. The fish kababs were delicious.

I occasionally visit this place for lunch, since it is close to my work place... This restaurant is located close to cubbon park, opposite to century club.. There is no parking facilities for four wheel.. This is a restaurant run by fisheries department, government of Karnataka.. Decent sea food at very reasonable price... They have meals (chapathi/ Ragi muddhe).. Self Service, separate counter for buying the coupon n taking the food... They also have a retail raw fish outlet and aquarium at their premises..

So crowded, definitely like standing in a long line at a ticket centre elsewhere. But the experience here was unbeatable!
Once you are done standing at different lines, fast moving, though, you make sure you try the fish kebabs and fish biryani! Mouth watering and soft and fresh fish, seer fish I'm guessing.
Its more like eating in your college hostel or a mess somewhere.
Expect no ambiance, expect crowd, expect noise, expect good food.
Fish and rice(mackerel, good enough), Biryani, kebabs, buttermilk (with a tadka of sorts? ) for 380. Prawns fry is also available,however you might miss it on the display board.
Oh, if you do have your friend standing in the line, check out the aquarium and fish shop behind you :D

Took refuge in this restaurant during an unexpected heavy downpour. It's a seafood restaurant, in the periphery of cubbon park. It's a self service restaurant.
One has to choose from a menu displayed near the cash counter, and get a token for what one intends to eat. The standard meal has ragi mudde or chapati, rice, fish curry, rasam and buttermilk. This in itself is a tasty and filling meal. The fish curry was of mackerel. I got a plate of fried lady fish (Kane) on the side. Food was fresh and tasty. Portions are good. Extra mudde, rice etc can be ordered.
Don't think there's any option for vegetarians. Cleanliness is good. Saw tables being cleaned without any delay.
Only drawback is that they do not accept UPI payments. It's cash or card.
Recommended for seafood lovers.

Mathsya Darshini, near kr circle cubbon park, it is also called as fish canteen. Dishes are hygienic and tasty at reasonable price. Especially fish kabab here is next level for the fish lover. During the lunch time, it's crowded but still manageable. One who wanted to explore the costal foods can visit here.

Good Place for Sea Food Lover . Very Economic as it' Govt Food Joint . It' run by KFDC. You can see the Menu and price in the photos. Best part is it's inside cubbon park and heart of the city.

An amazing place for seafood. Ordering a la carte can get a little expensive so if you intend to eat alone, your best bet would be to visit this place for lunch and have their thali (set lunch) which are only available in the afternoon. I opted for seafood thali which comes with prawns rava fry and clams. You can also opt for fish thali instead which comes with fish fry instead of prawns and clams. All of the food is simply delicious and the place is a must try if you love seafood.
We purchased raw fish from this outlet. The fish was fresh and the cleaning and cutting process found excellent👍💯. I'm glad to recommend this outlet to my friends
Fish curry meals for ₹130. Cheaper than any other seafood restaurants around here. And the fish pieces are also bigger.
