I have been here umpteen times since I moved to Bangalore 1.5 decades ago. But today let me share my latest experience during my visit this week.
To commemorate the Chinese New Year of Rat in January , the Mainland China is serving a special menu all this month. I was tried some of the dishes from their menu and was delighted with the efforts of their chef who have rolled out some outstanding dishes.
Food unites people and is no longer restricted to a particular region. It is a means of survival yet a source of pleasure through its culinary intricacy and sophistication. Global Cuisines from across the world are now available everywhere. The style of preparation style, cooking techniques, ingredients are inspired from different cultures and influence each other. Mainland China has emerged as one of the best restaurants serving some premium Chinese Dishes in Bangalore. The Aroma, appearance, taste and atmosphere of this place is top notch. There are 7 outlets in multiple localities across Bangalore and is expanding.
Food- Mocktail Drinks are splendid and refreshing. My favorite was the peachy mangifera. Appetising Starters. Impressive Plating. Elaborate menu with a large variety of options to choose from. Impeccable Quality. Though nothing exceptional, each dish is elevated a level higher than competitors making it fabulous. The dynamite prawns were outstanding. Soft, fresh and Marinated well. Smoked Duck rolls were incredible. Succulent and nicely seasoned stuffing with a fried outer layer. Highly recommended. Loved the brilliant Chicken Sui Mai Dimsum. Juicy and steamed to perfection with an explosion of flavors.
For main course, Fried Rice with Chilli Chicken Gravy as well as Burnt Garlic fish was remarkable. Rightly balanced and distinguished taste, texture, richness and spice.
Other fantastic dishes that I relished and deserve a special mention are the Crispy lotus Stem with and also Pepper Chicken. Harmony of sweet, sour, and salty flavors really excites the palate.
However the I felt the Pan Asian fish was average and can be improved. Japanese Wheat Noodles was ordinary and should be better.
The amazing Chocolate Dome caramel popcorn dessert was heavenly bliss. A Delightful culmination to a superb meal. Enjoyed the enigma as the warm chocolate sauce melts the sphere to reveal its secrets which is some delicious brownie and ice cream. (7/10)
Ambience- Simple yet elegant neat decor that gives it a posh feel. Well planned layout. Spacious arrangement. Spectacular Sculptures and Statues. Great music and air conditioning. Beautiful Chinese paintings adorn the walls. Colorful vases add to the attractive look. Comfortable chairs and sofas for seating. Nice flooring, bright lighting, wall designs and exquisite wooden furniture makes the interiors marvelous. (8/10)
Service- Excellent. Wonderful Hospitality. Quintessential fine dining experience. Waiters are quick, attentive and efficient. Staff is knowledgeable, courteous and well trained. They make you feel welcome and serve with a smile. Valet Parking Available. (8/10)
Will definitely visit again to satisfy cravings. It was not only a feast for the tummy but also a treat for the eyes. Nevertheless, Pricing is on the higher side making it an expensive choice. Would like to end with A Chinese proverb which states: “Food is the heaven of the masses”. Live to Eat!
Food was really good & delicious. I had nonveg buffet & believe me guys it is worth the penny. Fish under the starter was worth a try. This is among the few restaurants which provide crab under its menu. So seafood lovers dont miss this. It was really crispy & delicious. Veg starter was equally good but main course is a bit dull. however worth a try guys.
Great buffet especially for vegetarians which is a nice surprise :) Quite many varieties of dishes jn both starters and main course.
.
However I disliked their dessert section not for the variety but due the lack of freshness. All the pastries were dry. Brownies were hard. Seemed like left overs from a day or more. And I'm sure there has to be a reason for that.
.
Still would recommend to visit for enough vegetarian options in Chinese.
. Nice ambience. Superb hospitality.
We spoke to the manager and were informed that they're readying the second floor for more space and plan to stop the buffet and make it all a la cart system.
Ambience is average. Food is good if you like Asian food. Their Momo's are epic and in desserts fried milk was unforgettable taste ...

Visited Mainland China (Domlur Flyover) for a team lunch on 9th sep. We were twelve people. Nice cosy place. Courteous staff who were very helpful and attentive. Lunch was a buffet. We found starters are best..with lots of variety for both veg and non veg options. Main course had noodles and rice with several veg gravies and few non veg gravies. Desserts among other had a unique item called fried milk..kind of OK for my taste. My team liked the veg options more..in terms of taste (personal preference). Overall was a satisfying meal and economical too. Good value for money specially if you are visiting on Mon/Tue lunch. I would recommend to anyone.
Good quality pan Asian food with top notch service and good quality ambience for which mainland China was famous in town. I like there dimsums especially. In main course Japanese noodles were yummy. Desserts blindly you can go for chocolate dome.
Bon Appetit Chef BB
Mainland China is a well reputed restaurant with its outlet spread all over the country serving the best chinese, Oriental cuisine to its customers. Visited the Domlur outlet recently to try their new menu. The menu is addition of certain vegetarian and non vegetarian dishes along with the already well established present menu!
This particular outlet like most mainland China outlets is simplistic, minimalistic band aesthetically pleasing. The seating arrangement is arranged suiting to the number of people want to dine together as they have made it convenient for a two person table as well long tables for huge groups to dine together.
Service as usual is top-notch!! The servers knew the menu throughout and the service was super prompt. Best part is that keeping in mind the scenario we are in they took hygiene very seriously.
Amongst the new menu, I'd definitely like to recommend the dishes I liked best:
•Lung Fung chicken soup topped with egg white- I'm not a soup person but this soup stole my heart! Thick, impeccable taste with just the right amount of spicy. Not bland at all!
• Pan fried barbecue fish- freshly made, perfectly cooked and almost melted in my mouth! Loved it!
• Sichuan pepper chicken with cashew nut- I loved the combination! This is more of a starter and made keeping in mind of the Indian palette.
• Pan-fried japanese mushroom & chicken dumplings-
If yoy visit Mainland China, you have to try the dumplings! Served in a bamboo box these came in a group of six. The dumplings were stuffed generously with yummy shredded chicken and mushroom and the outer coating went so well with the stuffing!!!
• Double spicy Changdu fish- no I'm not being biased with the fish dishes they were indeed impeccable! It's goes best with Singaporean fried noodles!
• Amongst dessert what clearly stole thr show was mango pudding. Every bite of it was almost biting into an actual Alphonso mango. Delicious!
Definitely give the new menu a try. :)

Good place for lunch/dinner. The ambience and hospitality is really good. Nice menu variety including buffet. The number of dishes in the buffer were fine. They have valet parking. Reservations are required to be made in advance.
When it comes to Chinese cuisine, Mainland China doesn't need any introduction. Visited this place on a Saturday evening, luckily we had booked a table so dint have issues waiting.
For those who don't like to read the entire review,
Recommended dishes - Mandarin and basil mojito, Peachy Mangifera, Zucchini roll, dynamite prawns, king prawns in chilli sauce, veg fried rice, chocolate dome with sauce
Drinks -
We tried a varieties of cocktails and mocktails like water melon n basil caipiroshka, nutty blue vodkatini, hot guava punch, orange prioskha. All of them were amazing but Mandarin mojito n peachy mangifera stood out.
Starters-
We did try veg as well as non-vegetarian dimsums, I personally liked the veg ones. Edamane dumplings. The Tom yum soup could have been better though.
I have never liked zucchini before, but then I really loved the way the roll were made. They were really tasty. They also serve smoked duck roll, it was again first time I was tasting this meat and did find it decent.
The showstopper was dynamite prawns. I really loved them a lot. The chili fish can be improved upon. Also, the crispy lotus stem with black pepper was mind blowing.
Main course-
I did try the fried rice with prawns in chilli sauce. Also, chicken with chilli and basil in clay pot was amazing. Japanese wheat noodles is another unique concept.
Desserts-
What better than chocolate dome with sauce with caramel popcorn on sides. Wow..:)
It was a great experience with drinks as well as food. Most of the dishes we tried were part of their newly launched menu.
Will surely visit again.

Mainland China has always maintained a consistent food quality. I was somewhat surprised at the choice of buffet when i visited recently. It's definitely not value for money. The desserts section looked so sparse and uninviting. Nevertheless, rest of the dishes was spot on in taste.
Went there for their buffet lunch since it was a special occasion. Called them in advance and booked a table. They were careful about our requirements that we shared over the phone. They have 4 NV (chicken and fish momos, chicken wings, fish Manchurian) and 4 V starters (mix veg manchurian, crispy potato, veg momos, and I can't remember the 4th one). Sgarters are served at the table, though it was bit slow at times. Sarfaraz was very helpful and went out of his way to make the lunch extra special. Main course had prawns, fish and crabs along with chicken. Desserts was also decent. Buffet is priced reasonably,
Loved the place. Love their hospitality and ambience.
Staff is very friendly and humble. Food is amazing. But one -ve point is that they can do better vth d deserts. Not such a great desert which will make u feel satisfied at the last.
