Best place for yummy benne masala dosa, even shavige uppitu with chutney is too yummy 😋 preferred place for breakfast and evening snack. Located at the heart of Malleshwaram 😋must visit this place.
One of the Oldest hotel in namma Bengaluru
Serving it's trademark masala dosa and other South Indian Tiffanies at a reasonable price and fine quality.
It's a must try pitstop for dosa lovers.
It's ambience isn't grand but will surely give the vintage feel to everyone.

Hotel Janatha is located in 8th cross Malleshwaram and it is nearby to Asha sweet centre. It is one of the old hotels in Malleshwaram and Bangalore too, I am visiting this place since from childhood. My dad use to tell that i will get you Masala Dose from Janatha hotel if you score well in exams!!
Hotel Janatha is a medium size restaurant and Table seating facility is available at this restaurant. There is no dedicated parking facility, Cleanliness need to be improved at this restaurant. Most of the times it is crowded with breakfast & coffee lovers. There are two sections in this restaurant- Self service and Serviced.
Hotel Janatha have options of food items like Idly Vada, Dosa items, Palav, Chow Chow Bath, Khara bath, Shavinge Bath, Kesari Bath and Coffee/Tea option. I have tried Idly Vada - Very soft idly and crispy Vada with a yummy spicy chutney & combination of Sambhar, Masala Dosa - Very crispy & yummy to taste it and Maddur vada which is delicious and crispy too dip and eat with Chutney.
Best options to have breakfast items at any time over here and most of the items are moderately priced and worth trying over here at this restaurant. Overall it is a best place for Dosa items.

Crispy masala dosa&vada is crispy but too much oil &coffee is good chow chow bath is tasty
Very old and famous authentic hotel for southindian breakfast. Self service. Youu get best masala dosa, kesari bath and filter coffee. It is in the shopping lane of malleshwaram 8th cross. If you are tired of shopping? Here is the yumicious way to feed you are tummy. Must try. It is in top best hotels in namma Bengaluru
This was part of my list when I planned on a breakfast walk in Malleshwaram. I felt that the place deserves more attention. There was very less crowd compared to popular places like CTR but the food here was just amazing. The place has a good seating. Although it’s not fancy and they only accept cash. We tried a couple of items such as Masala Dosa, Rava Dosa and Vada. All tasted quite amazing but Masala Dosa took my heart. It was just out of the world. The base was crispy and masala was damn good. I would definitely recommend this place for breakfast in Malleshwaram.
This place is a legendary restaurant.
This place is serving their delicious breakfast from past 50years and still maintaining its taste. (Said by the customers)
We love the vada they serve, they are super crispy and delicious
We love the masala dosa as well!
We need much of these kinda places on Bangalore to experience the authenticity.
A long standing restaurant in Malleshwaram that has stood the test of time. A menu that has not changed since a long time and locals love this place.
Bajji and Masala Dosa are the best dishes here. Jamoon is a great starter and what’s unique is the addition of raisin. Khara bath is good as well. Overall a very unique traditional experience.
Hotel Janatha is an amazing space to experience old Bangalore because the charm is still intact in that place. I mean, you sit on the bench and then self-service and you get only south Indian breakfast foods. Hotel Janatha is open throughout the day however the menu is fixed. Coming to the foods, I think Janatha restaurant serves you delicious dosas and my favorate is the crispy vada, I mean its really rare to get crispy vada in Bangalore or any other place for that matter. Also, this restaurant serves you Maddur vada which is delicious and their dessert is to taste for. I actually had Jamoon here and my heart was fulfilled. I think all the foodies should really check this amazing restaurant on 8th cross Malleswaram, it's really worth trying.
Crispy masala dosa was yummy
No frills restaurant serving great South Indian fare
There are two sections in this restaurant- Self service and Serviced. But the ambiance is basic in both the sections. We had Khali dosa and Khara bath. Both were heavenly and served piping hot. The restaurant has a large fan following and hence be ready to wait before you can be seated.
Have been an irregular visitor from last 10 years mostly for breakfast visits on weekends. Vada and sambhar are great while the quality of other items is slowly dropping over the years. Still worth a visit for just Vada and the old ambience which is becoming hard to find as many of the older hotels are either closing down or changing their looks.
Best place to have masal dosa in malleshwaram... It is an old hotel which never gets old... Must try crispy masal dosa and a cup of coffee with mangalore bajjii.. Best time to visit -evening
I may say this hotel is one amongst the legendary Malleshwaram eats along with CTR, Sri Raghavendra or Veena Stores. It’s bit difficult to locate this place amidst the busy street of 08th cross of Malleshwaram. The hotel is known for its big crispy Masala Dosas with thick layer of red chutney. They also serve sweets like Badam Halwa which is their signature dessert. Filter coffee not to be missed. The place provides an option of quick bite and as well as quiet sitting ambience for families. They do have a weekly holiday so please check the day before you visit.
As soon as you walk in you feel nostalgic. They have managed to keep the old feels captured in. The crispy Vadas are a must as your dose will take some time. Apart from dose and vada the rice bath is also a very good dish. It is one of the best place to have breakfast in morning. The vada is crispy on the outside and as soon as you break it you hear the crunch. There is not need to explain the quality as it exceeds all the standard. Overall a great breakfast/ snack place.
Fyi: if you want parcel you have to carry your own bag and box for sambar and parcel.
Must try place for the Badam Halwa and the Jamoon. The coffee was also up to mark. Pretty old place with the traditional atmosphere in Malleshwaram.
Hands down!!!! The best masala dosa in town!!!
From the perfect thick dosa, to it's crispiness!!! You'll be licking your plate and fingers clean after this masala dosa!!
Located in 8th cross Malleshwaram, quite tricky to locate this hotel unless you are familiar with the area. better to take bike or auto to reach there as the market area is very crowded and no car parking at all. I had masala dosa and idly-vada. both were very tasty. I liked the dosa more here compared to CTR! got seats easily even though it was a weekend evening. definitely one of the best masala dosa i have eaten in bangalore! very very crispy and tasty dosa! idly-vada was also very tasty. soft idly, crispy vada and tasty chutney and sambar! budget hotel too! one of the historic hotels in malleshwaram area
It has been one of the iconic places for early morning breakfasts, and for lip smacking evening snacks. If you are shopping in Malleswaram "8th cross", its highly unlikely that you will miss this place. Retaining the charm of old bengaluru, with its ambience and the taste, this place still attracts people for its soft mangalore bhajji, idly vada and crispy from outside and soft from inside masala dosa. With good value for money, I highly recommend this place as a pit stop for breakfast or evening snacks.
Firstly, this is a historic hotel. Over the years taste and quality has changed. However food is good. Crispy vade, mangalore Bonda and masala dose are their specialty and does not disappoint you.reasonable pricing.
This is the from my childhood I have been having and they have been serving delicious food since 20 years as far as I remember..
They Masala Dosa , Sambar and Vada is out of the world.. it is a must have in Bangalore List of Dosas
Their Jamoon and rava Vada and idilies are also really good
Thier coffee is very good as well.
Malleswaram is home to many special dose.
And this on from janata is the best, it Il be opened till 12.30 and later they IL re-open at 4.
Try Jaamun as well as Mysuru pak here.
This is one of the oldest restaurant in Bangalore, this place serves all South India breakfast cuisines. And the price here is pocket friendly. We have ordered idli, vada, khara bath, onion dosa and masala dosa. Have to tell, all the food was freshly served and tasty. Never miss masala dosa and filter coffee here. Great place.
Cheers
Have you been to this Old Bangalore style restaurant in Malleswaram?
Hotel Janatha, established in the '80s is a feeling in itself! Slightly crispy butter Masala dosa with the most delicious masala within. That's what goodness tastes like! The filter coffee completes the meal❤️ Place : Hotel Janatha, 8th Cross, Malleswaram
Price: Butter masala dosa - ₹54

Old world ambiance? Check. Great food? Check. Superb coffee. Check!
Janatha Hotel will take some time to find for those who aren’t very familiar with the neighborhood. And even the signage is not very apparent, as it’s surrounded by many others. However, once you do find the place and walk in, treats await you visually and gastronomically. The place is divided into self-service and service sections, and I placed myself in the service area to enjoy my food a bit more. This latest experience here was on a Sunday at 9am. I found an empty table, and no sooner did my first order go, I was sharing my table with others and the place was full!
I ordered the Idli Vada combo, and it was very tasty! The Sambar was sweet but good, and the Vada was fresh and crisp! The chutney was better than many other places here, though my focus was on the Sambar as I favor it more.
Then came the Butter Masala Dosa. This one is the best I’ve had in Malleshwaram so far! Crisp but not too greasy, and the potato filling inside tasted good too!
I sensed I wasn’t yet full, so I ordered another Vada. I don’t know why it came with so many cups of Sambar, but my god, it was crisper and fresher than the first! Perks of coming right on time for breakfast!
The service is fast, friendly and efficient. The prices are low, making this place excellent value for money. My breakfast cost me less than 125 Rupees! Thank you Janatha, for reminding us Bangaloreans and showing others what the city was like decades ago!
This place has certainly got that old Bengaluru vibes and you experience as soon as you step into the restaurant.
I tried the classic Masala Dosa and Vada Sambar here. Uddin Vada was served fresh and hot, so crispy that I could not only hear my vadas crispyness with spoonbut also the guy sitting next to my table who was breaking up the vada and soaking it in sambar. The Vada unlike other places had ting shredded pieces of coconuts as contrary to tiny whole pieces of coconuts. The sambar was very thin in consistency and had huge chunks of tomatoes, a bit on the tangier taste.
Masala Dosa was served piping hot too, and it was thick but not as thick as in Vidyarthi Bhavan. The coconut chutney which was served with it was fresh and coarsely ground. The quantity of aloo stuffing in the Dosa was more than sufficient.
Must visit to experience 80s Bengaluru vibes along with delicious food.

The connect I have with this eatery can't be replaced by any. Been visiting here since childhood with dad & mom, those were the days. Now, visiting with husband & daughter is a true nostalgia. Food is at its best. Masala dose & coffee unbeatable. But I would request the management to have a proper wash room facility if possible.
#masaladosa at Hotel Janatha the best masaladosa in India. My favorite hotel after I started eating outside. Vada also seems very tasty. #keepmaking such tasty food.
Quality was good...
Quantity also good..
Good packing..
Superb taste...
Worthy for money..
Feeling happy.. I ordered idly and paddu... Really I enjoyed the taste of food..
Thanks
Vada is the highlight dish here, according to me. It's crispy on the outside and softest inside. Along with the Mangalore style sambar, it's a deadly combo of evening snack.
Oh the filter coffee is awesome too.
Went here on brother's choice...
A reminder of old b'lore. The crispiest vada and dosa that I ever had in Bangalore... A must visit place for all!
An age old restaurant which serves yummy varieties of dosa, idli, shavige bath and also evening snacks like vada and bajji..
A must visit if you are shopping in Malleswaram 8th cross for a quick bite.
Masala dosa and badam halwa is very tasty.
Best place for some piping hot Vadas and bajji on a winter evening ;)
Have been visiting this hotel fr almost 30 yrs but must say only price has gone up but the taste is stil the same. They are know for their crispy dosa and vada and not to forget mangalore bondas. All of them are yummy. Their interior and seatings are stil the same with no modern seatings and decors but that’s what make them different from other restaurants. some time it will be too crowded but it’s worth waiting since their taste never disappoints.

In the busy lane of Malleshwaram step inside this hotel and suddenly u have turned back the clock, it's soo 90s feel if the darshini. No glitz no fancy lights no over reacting staffs it's just simple good old darshini. The tables and lights give that rustic feel. And need not say the food is obviously awesome the dosas were crisp and the chutney is soo yummy.. Good place to visit once in a while to get back in time.

Do try it out when ur done with CTR and veena stores
Probably the best vada sambar in town. VFM 5 on 5, taste 5 on 5, service 5 on 5, old bangalore restaurant experience 5 on 5. Go for a quick bite.
Finally I got a chance to visit this place, it is one of the oldest places in Bangalore. Ambience is retro style vintage types. I tried its masala dosa made out of pure ghee, it was one of the crispiest dosa i have ever had and it was a delight to the tastebuds. As it is truly said, old is gold.
This is legend and remember times when we had to be in long queue to get seating and being charged for extra sambar. Now we have both self service and service on table. Reduced the size of dosa though but still worth the price and must try.
This place is located in the busy Lane of malleshwaram 8th cross .The dosa's here are just lip smacking and awesome but not as before they have reduced the quality .Vada and sambar are another highlight dish of this place and even the rava idly, holiday bajje and Jamoon are must try ,the place of self service kinda one with vintage ambience .Pocket friendly and authentic taste
Taste-4/5
Value for money-4/5
God!!! Crowd at this place is unimaginable. Such long queue for dosa was really worth. Located at the busy lane of malleshwaram and one of the oldies of namma bengaluru. Dosa was crisp and tasted good.
I finally visited this place and I loved it! It's an very old restaurant and the food is too good! I tried their masala dosa and it filled my soul!
Mouth watering dosa!! 🤤🔥 very old restaurant ambience is vintage and old Bangalore!! Retro level is swag and a taste that is being the same for more than 7 decades!! Historical place where many celebrities love to eat and savour their famous dosa!!
Good food. Authentic. Bonda soop is famous and I love masala dosa ...place is very good .. Best place, but little difficult to find this place in the 8th main Malleswaram..Ask any one they can guide you.
One of the oldest restaurants in malleshwaram. Been going here for years. Very cheap but great tasting south Indian dishes. Some of the best chutney and sambar. It still has people waiting in queues and self servicing with their mostly bought masala dosa's and idli's.
Forget the ambience and space! Located in the heart of the Malleshwaram market its a go to place.
The dosa is super yumm, rava idli is unique taste, the seviya baath is very TASTY. Coffee is super Awesome!!
The service hall is not too large and hence self service is preferred. The staff is good and talk politely even under super pressure where at least 50 people stand demanding their order 🤣
During evenings it is very crowded and quite a lot of visitors grab a coffee as I mentioned it's super awesome!!
This has been my childhood favourite, Masala dosa n the vada has never lost quality nor quantity... Rava idly is a classic too. Never miss the filter coffee if u r a coffee fan...
There's something about old traditional hotels in Bangalore. People waiting outside at 4Pm in the evening for it to open, hotel Janatha has maintained it's charm. Having both self service and service rooms, affordable prices and some amazing dishes, this is one perfect place for an evening snack or a morning breakfast. The taste, no doubt, has drastically changed over years but still it's a pretty good deal. Dosa is as Crisp as ever, vada is too yumm and the coffee is so refreshing. Khara bath and Shavige bath were looking decent and the Gulab jamoon and the Badam Halwa give the just perfect ending that the meal requires.
I am trying out a few places in Malleshwaram. This was on my list and got to try it out today. Its situated on the 8th cross of Malleshwaram, on the left side of sampige road.
Ambience - it reminds of the 80's with those old type of furnitures. I think a touch of renovation would surely help the place to attract more customers. Hygiene can be looked into.
Service - its self service
Food - we ordered one masala dosa and a shyavige bath. I like the masala dosa, it was thick and crispy which reminded me about CTR dosa. It had that ghee aroma, was served with chutney and sambar. Chutney was good with ample amount of coconut and the tatse was balanced. Sambar was a little towards the sweeter side which didnt go well with the dosa but we had a few spoons at the end.
Shyavige was good, there was nothing great with that, was served with chutney. Maybe without chutney it would be a little bland. I liked the idea of peanuts in it.
And for people who are planning on becoming a gold members you can use my id KAVY9735 to get 20% discount on your membership.

One of the best places for Idli, vada, sambar & of course masala dose with an oldie Bangalore experience . Pull up a chair. Come join me. Life is so endlessly delicious ...............
Vada Sambar and Khara Bath are the dishes with a sublime taste and in addition to coffee your breakfast streak will be complete...
Pure Vegetarian and Pakka South Indian restaurant..

This place has been a favourite since childhood. Do not miss out their masala dosa and vada. Their sambar is quite distinct and the best I've had so far.
Legendary places are always a Joy to be visited to! Janatha Hotel is one such legendary Being serving many amidst the heavy crowds of Malleswaram 8th cross.
Many things in 8th cross literally distract you from this heaven for Masala Dosa! Go hungry and eat well. This is one among the Historical Hotels of Bangalore. Staff members are fair and honest with service. Don't get disappointed !! They are really busy and have to be the way they are! Pricing is rational too. I wish I was in Malleswaram !!!!
Had heard a lot about this place and was waiting to visit this place from a long time. Being one of the oldest hotel in Bengaluru, this place still gives that old Bengaluru feeling. Building seems very old. Service is pretty quick and place is crowded too. Tried Masala Dosa and filter coffee. Taste cannot be described in words. Loved every bite. Must visit place if you are a Dosa lover. Will visit again soon.
Being a Bangalorian and a kannadiga, it's a pride to have an amazing hotel like this, I suggest the Masala dosa and the filter coffee, it's a must!
I have been going to this place since I was a kid . It’s more about the feeling that this place gives you than the food that is served here . I really like having masal dose and vada with sambhar here . These two have been my favourites since forever 😁✌🏼
Felt like iam in good old Bangalore, had yummy masala dosa, Khali dosa and crispy vada, to top it all had a steaming cup of awesome filter coffee.
This was our last stop today on the breakfast hopping around malleshwaram and I'm glad we ended it on such a good note.
luckily the place wasn't crowded at all when we entered and we quickly got our dosas. the dosas were absolutely delicious, crispy and the potato pilling also was great.
we tried the badam halwa also, but it was quite sweet and I don't recommend trying that.
we ended our meal with the perfect cup of filter coffee, i also tried the badam milk which was delicious as well! The whole place was a very old- timey charm, it was wonderful.
definitely visit.
Being one of the oldest eat outs, this place still holds the charm. The dosas are mouthwatering. The place is always filled with people and may get tricky for a family to get seating. The wait times are usually high, especially on weekends. It's totally worth the wait. Located just opp to malleshwaram ground/association, this is centrally located in the hub Malleshwaram
I am a hard rater, and don't give out stars generously. This diminutive place on 8th cross is a legend, and has been for decades, known for their dosas. We live within walking distance, and I consider my family lucky that the best places (Janatha, CTR, MTR and Veena Stores) for idlis, vadas and dosas in Bangalore, regardless of price, are within a mile of home. We went there on a Monday morning around 9AM, and the service was outstanding. Place was not that crowded since it was a workday, but this place is usually packed around lunch and evening hours.
I visit Janatha, CTR and MTR regularly for my fix of masala dosas. Love all three places. Masala dosa at Janatha is my first choice, then CTR, followed by the MTR dosas at their branch next to Sampige theater. I get my dose of idlis and vadas at Veena Stores when not in the mood for dosas.
Dosas at Janatha are crispy outside, and fluffy inside. They tend to be thicker than CTR or MTR dosas. Dosas are well roasted and soaked in butter and ghee. Chutneys, palya and sambar are top notch. Size of dosa is comparable with CTR, meaning one is not enough for me. Compared with Janatha dosas, CTR dosas are crisper on the inside because they are thinner overall.
While masala dosas get all the attention, don't overlook the set dosas that are another weakness of mine, and they are soft, fluffy and tear with the right amount of resistance using three fingers. I never leave without ordering at least one plate here.
South Indian coffee is perfect here, and I usually get at least 2 cups with my dosas.
A big breakfast here does me in for the rest of the day. I usually skip lunch altogether and eat something light for dinner after indulging in the heavenly dosas. Added bonus is that I can smell the ghee from the dosas on my fingers all day even after multiple hand washes with soap!
As for ambiance, this is not the kind of place where one would get on a knee and propose to a future spouse to seal a relationship, unless both of you met here for the first time. However, you should bring your potential partner here before you do propose sometime later, and reconsider your future together if both of you don't love the food. Seriously.

Back then during my childhood days, a masala dosa from here used to be our treat, that too once in 2 months. I remember eagerly waiting for my dad to bring the dosa as it was the yummiest dosa on earth.
Snapping back to present, I find the quality has degraded significantly. Dosas are not as crisp and tasty as before. But the thing which has retained the classic taste even now is the vada sambar. Rava idli is good too. Goli baje is okay, nothing mind blowing.
So if you are in 8th cross Malleswaram, do visit this place for nostalgia sakes, enjoy some vada with piping hot sambar and finish the little snack with a cup of filter coffee!
Wish I could give this place 3.5, but 4 is what is possible
One of the oldest & best place in malleswaram to have wonderful yummy breakfast and evening snacks.
Ambience is very nice, tasty and quality food.
Hygiene is very well maintained. Its reasonable also for the food they are giving.
Must try - Crispy masala dosa with sambar. You get the best crispy vada sambar.
So you can come here and try Mangalore bajji with coffee which is also good.
This place is legendary in Bangalore for South Indian food. The food is rich and tasty, also the recipes used are authentic hence it is always crowded and more often there are no seats to sit in peace too. Prices are very reasonable for the quality. Service is quick and efficient with no time to chit chat etc(they will ask you to leave after a while for sure).I would request the owner to kindly improve the quality of the eating experience and the ambience for the customer. A little bit of enjoying while eating is good instead of being very hurried.Otherwise all good.

Dosa and Janatha hotel goes hand in hand. One of the oldest hotels out there in bangalore. Taste is legendary and service is quick. Coffee is a must try.
A small but great place to go for Sunday breakfast. Their dosas and idlis are awesome to taste. Located in a busy street with parking difficult to find. But it's worth all thee troubles. They have self service as well as serving tables with a difference of five rupees per item if u wish to be served. Taste wise just great where ever u have it. Badaam milk is also good. Quite pocket friendly. Must visit highly recommended
One of the cheapest and the very oldest hotels in Malleswaram, Bangalore. Almost all the times hotel will be overcrowded with all types people with different age groups. This hotel offers a plenty of vegetarian food options like for example Idli, Vada, Dosa, Chau chau bath etc. This is one very most preferred hotel in the area. It is good to go here with the friends with a group. Almost all the food varieties are very much affordable for everyone of us even the poorest of the poor. The food quality of the hotel is very good for that price. It is such a spacious hotel and neatly maintained one. Usually there is always a wait here.
I went to this restaurant for a breakfast after completing a 5k marathon in malleshwaram. It seems to be a very traditional restaurant which is put up from generations.
🇦 Ambience of the restaurant is pretty average. They have not given much of attention towards it. Seating is available for quite a big breakfast crowd.
🇸It is mostly self service.
🇫🍽️ What I ate ???
🍴Idly vada It was okay. The vada wasn't oily as such. Chutney and sambar was pretty okayish.
🍴Masala dosa It looked good, the smashed potato palya was good, dosa wasn't oily either.
Visited this place for the first time. This historic hotel and it's seasoned ambience reminds you of the good old Bangalore days. The menu is very simple and basic. Though the service was quick, the staff were just alright. we tried the idli vada, chow chow bath, masala dosa, khali dosa and tasty badam halwa. Sambar was very good. Ofcourse ended the meal with hot cup of filter coffee. The price is very reasonable and totally worth for the taste. Would definitely recommend this place. However the timing could be a little more flexible than the strict limited hours.
Situated in 8th cross of Malleswaram, a street that never sleeps, is the Hotel Janatha. One of the oldest restaurants which serves authentic South Indian breakfast. It has been drawing crowds and one can never be bored of this place. Their masala dosa and khara bhaat (upma) is to die for. Coffee is filtered and is fine. Ever crowded and has its own set of customers since ages.
Cheers, foodies. 💜

This Friday what was supposed to be a quick run turned into a leisurely stroll and there is no way I would miss a Cubbon morning without a heavy breakfast. Bored of our usual spots, we were wondering where to go when I thought of Janatha Hotel in Malleshwaram. Though my childhood favorite, I was returning to this place after almost 12 years.
My childhood habit of dunking vadas in sambhar and drinking sambhar started from this place. The earliest memory I have of this place was being so impressed by this place when I was a kid that I dragged my granny and my mom to this place even before it opened in the evening and waiting in the crowd for the doors to open. I had managed to eat a vada and masala dosa back then, something that I struggled to do this time.
Visiting this place after 12 years, I felt like nothing had changed. The rickety fans, the desks, the token counter, the self- service counter, the seating arrangement were the same. Everything was the same. Nothing had changed. Except there was no crowd. The fact that we were the first ones to enter at 7.30 in the morning did not enter my head and asked the man behind the counter why it was not crowded. He explained to us that Malleshwaram had only two places- Janatha and CTR- and hence people would flock to these two places, but now the truth is that Malleshwaram has hotels at every nook and corner and people would prefer to go to one closest to their homes and now only the regulars come here.
Coming to the history of this place, this place is almost as old as my mom. It was started in 1971 by two brothers from Kundapur- Seetharam Rao and Pranesh Rao who had worked in hotels in Kundapur and Shivamogga before setting up this hotel. Though the Malleshwaram Janatha hotel is the most famous one, they set up the first hotel at Sajjanrao Circle.
We collected our food from the service counter and sat on a desk to eat our breakfast. We had ordered Khara Bath, Dosa and Vada.
What is known as KharaBath in Bangalore is known as Upma to the rest of the world. The quantity of KharaBath in restaurants these days is so less that even a baby would not be full after eating it. But here, the quantity was huge and filling. The Upma hot and well balanced was perfectly melting in your mouth and I did find quite a few cashews in this.
Coming to the Vadas, they were the same vadas I had when I was a kid. Nothing had changed. The texture, the crunchiness, the lightness. Even the taste of the sambhar had not changed and one will realize why people flock to this Vada only after eating it.
Usually, when I order dosas in restaurants, I am usually served something that is given an oil bath or a ghee bath so that it becomes crispy. Here, the story was different. The dosa was not greasy at all and yet, so crispy and tasty. Whoever said more the ghee, the more tasty it is will be proven wrong. I felt the dosa was still the same but my mom felt that the dosa texture had changed after 12 years. My mom might be right. Back then, I was only 8 years and the only thing I wanted was more and more bowls of sambhar.
1 Khara Bath, 2 vadas, 3 dosas and 3 teas cost us 225. I don’t think the rates have also changed over the course of time.
,
This is pretty old place in Malleswaram, the masala dosa, onion Dosa , vada samaber , plain dosa and coffee. The pricing is reasonable and good . Nice place for people who want native masala dosa of bangalore
The hotel is quiet difficult to identify from a moving vehicle. Food is great. All south Indian breakfast items. Please try the Badam Halwa.
Prompt service by the staff.
Crispy dosas to die for. Always crowded. Quick service. There is both self service and service hall. No matter how crowded you will always leave this eatery with satisfaction.
If you are new to Malleshwaram 8th cross you will definitely have a tough time finding this place , the place is nicely tucked between the shopping complex . The place is famous for their legendary south Indian dishes like mouth watering masala Dosa , idli vada sambar and crispy hot manglore bajji served with coconut chutney.
Being a resident of Malleshwaram this place brings back memories , our shopping at Malleshwaram was not complete without a visit to this place .
Tasty sweets r available here...
Good quality items.
Not much expensive.
Cheap and best. Tasty and delicious cakes. Capsicum bun is just amazing. Me and my family just loved it. 👌👌👌👌👌. They sell fresh cakes and many more stuffs. Just loved it.
Paradise except for cakes.
Bakery is good when it comes to taste, quality, quantity and price.
Everything is good at this place.
Note: sincere request not to try any cakes except pastries. Because normal cakes would 10 days to 15 days old. Already prepared big cakes even are kept for 20 to 25 days. AM A FREQUENT CUSTOMER.
But when it comes to food like fast moving, buns breads, dil pasand, etc are very good.
Special mentions is their apple cake proced at 3 rs. Mostly theyll prepare that with edible wastes from all other items.
