I love the egg puff and chocolate cream bun . So yummy
On the 60 ft. road, this bakery is on the left as you come towards the Canara bank. Though we have been buying bread from them for about two years, about 6 months ago I sampled their cake rusk (A Cross between a cake and rusk, addictive with a cup of chai! ) and baked “Nippattu”, a typical south Indian thin and flat savory, but baked instead of fried.
Unlike other places, they hand out samples in abundance and I ended up buying the cake rusk and the Nippattu a dozen times. In fact a friend from US requested me to buy from them when I went in December and they were quite happy with it. In fact the best I have had so far anywhere!
Their honey cake brought the nostalgia of childhood treats and the banana walnut cake though was available just once was awesome. Their masala peanuts (For some reason called Congress Kadle beeja) is a tad more on hing (asafoetida) but nice otherwise .
The only feedback would be to keep the spice of the Nippattu consistent. At times it can get a little too spicy and once I received a batch that was baked slightly under and I submitted the feedback.
They are normally busy, but the staff is generally attentive and help clarify.
The prices are quite reasonable and off late they also provide fiber carry bags instead of plastic.
I used to pass this shop frequently with all my visits to the koramangala area. Never tried it here even though it was crowded till my friend pushed me to try here once. From that time I was a regular customer here my fav is congress(don't know the history of this name) and rava cake.I really like their marketing strategy while you are thinking of buying an item they will cut and give you a piece to try. That is an excellent strategy to keep the customers happy and engaged. Only complaint is they are premium priced.
This bakery is quite crowded most of the times. I mostly buy honey cake, horlicks barfi and dil pasand from here which they serve fresh.
Recently I tried nipat, which is a savoury snack, loved it totally.
Also, tried choco lava for the first time from here, which consisted more of chocolate than the cake.
The prices here are a bit higher than other Iyengars
A typical "Iyengars bakery".
But costlier than the others.
Fresh and tasty.
Puffs and honey cake are really good.
Its one of the old and best bakery near by kormangala.anything bakery items you want to purchase go here you will never regret
Everything is good. Their cakes are pretty light and tastier these days with more variety.
The Best place to have Hot and Fresh Puffs. All staff members are for North Karnataka, very good to talk. They give samples of snacks to taste before we buy. All the items are Fresh and Good..
The bakery items are delicious here, the shop looks neat and tidy with all the staffs cooperative to serve you with what you need. The prices are also reasonable. The nippat and the kodbale are my recommendations.
We had ordered cake for my niece's birthday 🎂, so beautiful and yummy 😊 overall experience was good
Lot of options to have from cake to puff and all kinds of bakery items!!!
Iyengar Bakery is Bangalore's timeless bakery that still stands proud through decades (120 years) of shifting culinary trends and hits nostalgia especially to the native Bangaloeans. Koramangala outlet is quite busy anytime you go and the staff is friendly too.
Their typical products include butter, khara and coconut biscuits, a variety of puffs, buns, breads and cakes. Cakes, breads and puffs are my favourite and are absolute droolworthy! While Bangalore remains the point of origin, Iyengar bakeries are spread across the southern cities of Mysuru, Hyderabad, Chennai and even Pune. “There are close to 2,000 bakeries in Bengaluru, but not all of them are authentic Iyengar bakeries. Many have mastered the recipes by working in the original bakeries,” says the owner.
Cashew biscuits were awesome. Loved the puffs. Fresh delivery in the evening makes it so tempting to take a pit stop when passing by this street.
This review is restricted to one visit only. Noticed that the bakery was getting a lot of visitors and decided to try it out. Asked for a cake without egg or diary and it looked like they had something for me. Was surprised, but they were happy enough to provide me a sample. Pretty decent customer service right there. So, I ordered some of the cake, a pack of achappam and some masala peanuts. All three were good, but the achappam was ahead of their competitors by a mile. I would gladly buy stuff from there since I know you get fresh snacks and have decent customer service.
They have awesome varity of rusks. Bought while wheat rusk without sugar, rusk with Jaggery and the best was cake rusk. All the 3 were too good. My favourite was the whole wheat one. The items here were all freshly baked. Very nice !!
Good quality and quantity but parking place too deficult in this area
As we were walking by it was hard to miss the lovely baked treats on display in the case and we had to stop in. The apple cake was delicious and we sampled some freshly prepared cake toast that we chose to buy another day. The potato crisps were fresh and soo good. Great staff at the counter too.
Excellent bakery. Quality items. Everything from the freshly baked bread and buns to the biscuits to the daily specials like the potato bun, vegetable slice and various puffs are all tasty and hygienically prepared. The bakery has been around for a long time and that's a testament to the quality they've maintained.
