Looking for Kerala snacks and tea
This place is second home to me by now!
Why? Well let me address that in two parts.
Part 1:
The authentic Kerala cuisine is fresh and sumptuous. Period!
As a testamonial to this, my 7 year son who has very sharp taste buds, has habitualized the dry chicken and fish fry made at Cheta's on a weekly basis. Well honestly i can't differ from his views. The food is fabulous here!
The other items one must try are the puttu, veg stew, idiyappam, appam, different varieties of fish and their speciality 'meals' that they call "Pothichoru".
To end that sumptuous meal one must try the devinity of the famous ginger tea! What else does one need! :D
Part 2:
The eatery is run by Mr. Superman and Mrs. Superwoman, who call themselves Suresh and Mangala to the rest of the world. Well i call them anna and akka with love and respect.
One of the most down to earth people i have met. Tied up with their day to day effort of meeting the ends, they never stop sharing a warm smile whenever they meet. (however tiered they might be). The conversations i have with them are nothing less than what i have with my close family members. The sense of warmth to me and each of my family members is something i can never forget.
Moving to the eatery: Don't be fooled by the small nature of their eatery. Their large hearts compensate for it! From large function, party orders, corporate orders to small swiggy takeaways, they are game for anything. You might like to call them and clarify on the items available in their menu on the specific day. (As they are subject to change)
Culture bestowed by Suresh and Mangala:
In short, it's a community gathering where people come make friends, build relationships, eat and stay happy. :)
One more thing. Their style of cooking believes in respecting the nature & ecosystem around us. Any product, byproduct created in kitchen is used some way or the other. So nothing is wasted from the kitchen. Also note, no chemicals, colour or preservatives are used while cooking food here.
It’s better if you order online than visiting the restaurant, they do have indoor seating but bad , food was good. I tried their fish meal which was pretty Good .
Best place for authentic kerala cuisine ..it is pocket friendly. I just found difficulty in seating . Staff was good and polite. Taste of the food was also good
I've ordered from here a couple of times now and I absolutely love it! Their pothichoru especially is a reminder of our summer holidays, when my grandmother would pack us lunch for the long train ride back to Delhi where we lived. It would be our last taste of my grandma's amazing cooking and as we ate our fish curry and omelette and fish fry, we would look out the train window and catch our last glimpses of home. I never imagined that 20 years later, a restaurant would give me this experience, and I cherish that cheta's kitchen has brought this back. The nostalgia only adds to the comfort of the delicious food they make.
I recommend the fish pothichoru very highly. And they do an amazing mathi (sardine) fry as well.
Tried first time yesterday n it turned out to be excellent. The bangda fry was so nice , perfectly spiced and fried . Chicken curry was excellent with perfect level of spices and gravy. Look forward to try out more dishes from this place which serves authentic kerala dishes.
Authentic, traditional and yummy Kerala cuisine and more. Very safe and hygienic food. Tastes absolutely home food. I would recommend Cheta’s Kitchen!!!
I have been a regular for 2 years now. My place for soul food - perfectly fried fish, puttu and curry. Even my kid prefers Cheta's to most other fancy restaurant around. And while you are there, don't miss to respond to Chetta's infectious smile and banter. And the sulaimani chai.
The food is very Tasty, just like home food. I love the fish curry and fish fry from this place. It tastes Awesome. They also serve different kind of meals (podichuru) in both veg and non veg along with specialized yummy Payasam. Every single dish is authentic and makes you feel good. No matter if you are alone or family, just go for it. You will Love it!
Best place for homely food.have visited the place many time .food was great , fresh .will be visiting the place often.food lovers should try pidichor.
The best place for having authentic kerela food.
I would love to visit this place on daily basis.
Great food, awesome people.
If anyone asks me i would like to suggest your place everytime.
As you took me back to my hometown.
My goto place for yummy home made food! Being a college kid away from home, I'm always in hunt for places that are budget friendly and don't give me a sick stomach the next morning. Cheta's has won my heart! I visit here so often, such lovely people and even lovelier food! My most favorite is the Fish Curry meal! If you're looking for fresh food that'll give you mouth watering, eye closing satisfaction, visit Cheta's!

Excellet food and service. I ordered food through Zomato. My address , around 5 kms from this place, and is located between the boundaries of Yelahanka, Vidyaranyapura and Jalahalli, where they don't have home delivery service. However I could order the food through Zomato , since my official address says my location is Vidyaranyapura. I understand their struggle to deliver this far, but for my luck, they agreed to deliver food which was a small order for them, on time!!
Nice homely food. I Love the pothichoru they served. I wish I can order food from Cheta's kichen again and get it delivered to my place.
Seafood, made old-style. That's what I go for. Not too many people cook this way anymore, outside of a home kitchen... Worth it!
food is very tasty...felt masala is little more in chicken curry. otherwise i love food...chutnies are very tasty😍😍. second time i have ordered n continue to place order
We ordered 3 pothichoru— vegetarian, fish and chicken. Each came with respective curry. Vegetarian was with brown rice. All three were really good. Quantity and price were good too.

very good and tasty homely confort food
My all time favourite place. Whenever i feel like having proper kerala tasty home food i will visit this place. They serve it hot!
Favourites- appam and kadal curry,
Fish curry meals
This has to be the best place to relish Kerala style cuisine perfectly home-made! The restaurant has only few seats, a with space a little more than a small coffee shop but Suresh and Mangala, the owners of this small food joint are real life examples of what great customer experience means. They treat their customers as their home guests taking care of how they'd like their dish. The quality of food is par excellence and so is the quantity. You'll never feel cheated! My mother loves sea food and we've gone their umpteen number of times ever since we discovered their lil restaurant few years ago. I've seen people coming to relish their food purely by the word of mouth from as far as banashankari n electronic city. Truly they deserve the love and fan following from far corners of the city and near. Thank you Suresh and Mangala, for giving us the same experience every time we walk into your restaurant.
Chetta's chai offers excellent Kerala food. Reasonably priced as well. Tried Appam and stew, and Kappa and Fish curry. Both were VB really good. The food was low on spice like home food and tasty. The customer service is nice and has a personal touch. Highly recommended.
Authentic Kerala cuisine in an assuming yet comfortable setup. It seems most people order out here. We were the only dine-in customers for lunch on a recent Sunday. There is enough seating for about four parties. We ordered the fish thali which came with different varieties of fish, both fried and curries. My favorites were the fried ones which were really yummy. Friendly and attentive service as well. The only suggestion would be to invest in a stronger exhaust fan. The frying of chilis made us cough a few times while eating.
The best kerala cuisine ... I have taken many guests here and so far every one felt very comfortable with the taste and the place.
liked the aapam with coconut milk.
Two words, fish fry and chicken gravvyy lists goes on and on! A must try for anyone who enjoys fish curry or chicken curry . For vegetarians, the Kerala special sadhya is absolutely delicious and should not be missed. It took us a long time to eat here, and I will definitely go back.
Thats my adda (joint ) for Tea, lemon tea, Dont miss the sulaimani tea etc
Very nice ambience...
Very authentic dishes...
Best service. ..
DO TRY Dont Miss it...... :) :)
Wonderful kerala food... Freshly made pan hot Appam you jist cannot stop eating with the res chutney. Vegetables stew of perfect consistency and flavors.
Have ordered through swiggy from this place for authentic kerala breakfast dishes.Appam, puttu, kadala curry, veg stew, idiyappam evrything was fresh & tasty. The only set back was after seeing menu in photos on google price of curry compared to what actually is charged when we order through swiggy is almost 3 times.Other than that taste wise its really good.
Small and homely place with almost gone cooked food. It's not really a mainstream restaurant and seating options are limited in fact, when the two makeshift tables placed by the roadside are taken, the only option is to sit in the car wash across the road. The food however is true to Kerala and reminiscent of the local meals available in any honest wayside Kerala eatery. Their speciality is the "pothichoru" a meal of rice and curry accompaniments with a choice of veg, fish or chicken. The owner is a good conversationalist and keeps you busy if you're inclined to converse.
Authentic Kerala style , homely taste and hygeine.Takeaway packing was excellent.Tried Fish curry along with the Ideyappam was yummy, loved it .Looking to Visit often.

Finally visited this place after having heard from my colleague. My first experience.... reached at 3:15pm for lunch...thou we reached pretty late and the last customer for the week ( they don’t serve dinner on Sunday and Monday is a weekly off) , SURESH the restaurant owner hosted us and served us “Podhi Choru with Chicken Pepper”. The Omlette tasted yummy 😋 Must say, amazing taste and was quite traditional in taste and enjoyed the conversation with SURESH. I wish him all the best and waiting to take my wife sometime next week , who’s review wud be the final 😀
I loved the food, it's yummy yummy😋 service is good, over all this place is from heart of spices, good and loving ❤️ overall highly recommended place ❤
Ordered kerala sadya for a function at our home. Food was very delicious and everyone enjoyed the meal. Satisfied with their quality and service.
This one of the best take away restaurant in vidyaranyapura for Kerala food..
Good Kerala Dishes, Hygienically prepared, Good Taste, Value for Money
Awesome food. Tried their appams, egg curry, and sambaar today for breakfast today through a delivery app. Super tasty healthy food which was really easy on the stomach. Their sambaar is thick and loaded with vegetables unlike the plain watery sambaar you normally get in restaurants.

Authentic homestyle Kerala food, hidden in a narrow road. Unfortunately they have stopped dine in. It's only takeaway or delivery joint. We were touched by the behaviour of the friendly owner, and super impressed by the food.
Matti fry was at its best. Appams were to die for with fish curry.
Must try
Very good quality & quality. But the rate is a little bit more
Good to order online like fish pothichoru and all other Kerala style dishes. But they take only online orders like Swiggy and Zomato
I am usually eat non veg but Cheta’s kitchen made me fall in love with their vegetable stew. And their puttu is soft and delicious Cheta actually made my Sunday happy by their good food. +1 for friendly staff
They have the best Kerala meal I've had in Bengaluru.. The couple who run the place are as warm and friendly as is their tasty food. We've been having our breakfast and lunch regularly now for a couple months. Thank you, sir and ma'am for the yummy food always
