Had been here on a Sunday afternoon but never knew they served hookah until I realized what a gastropub meant.
Service - 4/5 They were quite fast, responsive and helpful to help us with our hookah.
Ambience - 4/5 2 floors including a rooftop - you do have a nice view and with hookah it makes it even better. What we didn't like are the washrooms. My friend told me that there were dazed cockroaches probably because the staff had sprayed something.
Taste - 5/5 Good variety of vegetarian and non vegetarian. One of the restaurants in hsr that serves pork, lamb and beef as well.The pork steak and Sri Lankan beef fry is a must try.
Experience - 4.5/5 My friend loved the place as he loved the food (Sri Lankan beef fry, pork steak) which he had coupled with a few beers and brain freeze hookah. I highly recommend this place if one is looking to have a good time and chill.

This cute little place offers a rooftop and indoor dining experience. Not much crowded and you can have quality time with your loved ones. Sitting on a rooftop, sipping beer and the cool breeze touching your face gives an amazing feeling.
We ordered Hunan chicken, Tangdi kabab and Beer. Hunan chicken was good but Tangdi kabab was too peppery for my taste. They offer Draught beer as well but it was not mentioned in their menu.
The staff are courteous.Thomas was our waiter for the day who is polite and well mannered.

What I missed: Given the ambience and the weather, Bollywood songs of 80s and 90s would have been a cheery on top.
Ordered non veg platter & couple of drinks. Starters were great! Then main course was chicken Biryani. The chicken pieces were quite hard though... Needs improvement. Please take care of that. Add a little more love to make it softer!

A laid back Saturday eve led us to this place. Chose this place mainly for it’s open terrace seating and closer to home. Not difficult to find, located on 27th main in HSR, beside Corner House.
Ambiance- This place has two levels of seating and we chose the terrace for Bangalore’s amazing weather. It has a small bar counter, the walls lined with small potted plants and a wall mural. The lower level is more of a closed and cosy seating.
Food- Ordered a beer pitcher and a couple of drinks to start off. In starters, do try their Prawns Ghee Roast, the prawns were fresh and were cooked to perfection, melt in the mouth. The masala was also not very spicy. Next came Tandoori Chicken and Coriander Pesto Fish Tikka, both were good but the fish was really good. In veg, we ordered Cheesy Jalapeno Spheres; this was super spicy and tangy so we asked the staff to replace the dish and when they did, it was an okayish dish. Didn’t try any mains or dessert.
Staff- Courteous and quick, Ronald & Raj were very helpful to all our needs. Our orders also came in pretty quickly, so no complaints here.
Do visit this place if you want to avoid the heavy crowd and want to have some good conversation with friends

So coming to the main agenda..the food and the place.
To begin with...the place is nice..we preferred inside on 3rd floor rather than rooftop as on 3rd floor the music and seating was more comfortable
The staff is responsive but there were missing items from the menu. Not a fan of these things.
We got veg nachos, chilly paneer and paneer tikka in starters. Nachos and chilly paneer were the items we ordered twice. There was right amount of chilli to give you a nice hit of chilli.
In main course we got bell pepper pizza. We requested for normal crust pizza but could not get it . Only thin crust was available. Personally I am not a fan of thin crust. But it was okish and could have tasted better. Also little oily on top as well.
But considering the overall experience it was good. Little ups and downs. Would personally like to give another try. As of now would like to stick with this rating.

The food, the seating, the view of the sky, and of course music, this place scores high on each of these. The service is superb. Ronald made sure we had an amazing experience. Best for celebrating with close friends, dates and conversation. And yes, there is a hookah here as well.

We went here for a little office party during lunch. I think this is one of the more premium places at HSR Layout. The food looks stellar and almost tastes as delicious. The delivery is slow, but the quality is very good. I appreciate that they keep an eye on you and bring out the dishes gradually. The decor is clean and the place has an amazing ambience. 5/5 for that.
Coming to the food, like I said before, the food looks stellar and almost tastes that good. Their presentation is pretty good and as you can see from my pictures, they look amazing, but, a lot of the dishes lack the "wow" factor.
The biryani was a disappointment and that's one of the primary reasons that the review wasn't 5/5.
I highly recommended the Chicken Tandoori and Grilled Chicken breasts as those are the two best dishes I've had a couple of times that are consistently mind-blowing. I love the attitude of the staff as they are friendly and courteous. I personally believe this place deserves somewhere in the ballpark of 4.1-4.5. You should book a table for a great experience 😁
Also, I almost forgot. The desserts blew my mind too. The chocolate mousse is sinful pleasure and the strawberry cheesecake was yum.

A British term for a public house that specialises in serving high quality food. New Gastropub concept in HSR on 27th main road. HSR's 27th main road is one of the most happening roads in Bengaluru. There are good number of restaurants openings in HSR often. Colony adds to the list. They have lower first floor and roof top. Roof top has attractives like vertical pots and graffiti. These are some of the highlights of the rooftop.

Rooftop & Decor Ambience with Rooftop seating. We headed to Rooftop. There were good number of people dining. 3rd floor has indoor seating with non smoking area. They do have smoking area in 3rd floor. 4th floor has live screen and open kitchen. Rooftop has Graffiti & Vertical hanging pots. I recommend rooftop for the energetic ambience.

• TCO - The Colony Oasis - The unique and signature combination of White Rum, Cucumber Piece, Cucumber Syrup, Mint, Lime Chunk & Soda.
This was something like signature item from Colony's menu.
I recommend management to please concentrate on the cocktails menu. Cocktails were really good in taste, but something was missing in every Cocktail.
According to my knowledge, Coffee Mojo has no remarks. It is one the best item from the Bar menu.
• Peri Peri Chicken - Tandoor grilled chicken drumsticks marinated in their homemade peri peri sauce.
It was served with mayonnaise. It was too oily.
Peri Peri was spicy and good in taste.
• Prawns with Garlic Cream - Succulent shrimps served in a rich garlicky parmesan cheese sauce.
Served with Garlic Bread. This item was recommended by my friend.
• Cowboy Chicken Nachos - Classic preparation of Cripsy fried Mexican tortillas with our own choice of toppings and cream
• Butter Chicken Poutine - The Colony's version of this Quebecois classic comes with tandoori chicken chunks, butter chicken gravy, spring onion, coriander, green chillies topped with cheese curds on a bed of fries.
I highly recommend this item for munchies. One of the best munchies I had from the menu.
• Chicken & Mushroom Pizza - Chicken & Mushrooms tossed with garlic & herbs, baked & finished with oregano chilli flakes & garlic salt.
Base was thin crust. Topping were fresh.
Main Course were good and Colony's Food menu has a good number of options to choose. Butter Chicken Poutine was one of my favorites.
• Lavender Panna Cotta with a Light Blueberry Sauce - Panna Cotta cooked with Lavander essential oils. Light purple in colour served with a very light honey sauce and blueberries.
It was served in Cocktail glass. It was much like cheese cake. It was chill served.
• Classic Belgian Chocolate Brownie with Chocolate Syrup - Rich Chocolate Brownies topped off with chocolate sauce. It was much like Brownie biscuit. It was really hard. Brownie was not heated before serving.
• Creme Caramel - A set custard dessert with Golden caramel. Caramel was too sweet.
Overall
The Colony Gastropub impressed me. Management have to concentrate on some cons like Cocktails, Desserts & Washrooms. Located on the prime roads of HSR. I wish management to maintain and improve much more in comings days for healthy & good business.

Rooftop ambience was perfect for a warm summer evening. Stuffed mushroom starter was delicious. Drink menu was impressive. Quite and not very crowded so a great pub to hangout out during weekends for people who don't like noisy places. Not much variety in Desserts.
