Hey Bhukkads !!! I jus want to cut everything so short about this place. If u seriously want some good Kerala food especially Fish Fry or Fish Polichattu, then u have to prefer this place when u go to The Forum mall in Koramangala. I'm actually a huge fan of payasam and there I couldn't get a seperate one. I was so upset but the person who was taking the order immediately told, if u want I can give u little amount do u can enjoyyy 🤩 I ordered Pomfret Fry and I got Payasam along with it. I loved the service there coz they need customer satisfaction and they don't want me to feel bad that there's no Payasam. Love Coconad for a reason ❤️

In so many words, I can say that this outlet was 'surprisingly good'.

Now, this review is based on limited items as this joint was not my first choice for lunch and so, I stuck to essentials. I tried following items:-

1. Malabar Chicken Biryani - Yumm....after a long time a mild Biryani was so delighting. Normally, mild biryanis become rice cooked in chicken broth with oil, but this was flavorful, well cooked and fresh.

2. Egg roast - While I don't like boiled eggs in gravy until it's fried, I didn't mind it here. It was sweet and spicy and yet very light.

3. Appam - Standard...nothing wrong with it, it's just I expect more in 25 bucks.

Overall, I'll go here again for their Malabar biryani!

I like the fish thali with boiled rice and fish fry( could have been shallow fried instead of deep fry.)...too yum.coastal folks will love it. Liked the veg that was served along with the thali.

This place is in the food court of Forum mall.. specially known for Kerala cuisine. Meals are good.. If you are not totally into fish it’s better to ask and order.. Appam and chicken stew are good try...

I liked the food here.. I had ordered the chicken biriyani and it was a tasty one...The service is fast but I feel the biriyani could have been served hot... this dish was just warm.

Got a chance to visit this outlet prior to watching a movie @ Forum Mall. I have been here for the dinner and it is one of the  food stalls which is operating at the food court of Forum Mall.

Menu
As the name says Coconadu is mainly specialized in Kerala cuisines. They offer  a impressive and broad range of authentic Kerala dishes.

Ambiance:

There is nothing much to say about ambiance as it is a common cafeteria and will be thronged most of the time.

Our picks for the day:

We have tried Malabar chicken Biryani. The price of the biryani is 180 Rs. Biryani was good in taste and it had ample quantity along with good number of small chunks of chicken.  The accompaniments provided were (1) raita (2) pickle (3) papad (4) chicken curry gravy.  A payasam ( Dessert) was also provided along with this as a compliment.

Verdict:

Good option  to have  food in Forum mall if you are craving to have a Kerala  food after spending  long hours for Shopping, Roaming around and Movie.

Chicken liver fry. Definitely recommended. Tasty, beyond what normally experiences at a food court anywhere in the world. They had interesting combos too - very Kerala (but we didn’t do any of these). So all you anaemics - head out here for some natural non-veg iron supplements.

It is one of the outlets in Forum’s food court. Went there for lunch, I thought of giving it a try as this was the only outlet which was left out that I didn’t try till date. So to be on a safer side, I ordered kerala porotta and allepey chicken roast curry. The food was delicious! Would love to go back to this place to try out its different sea food options.

This is probably the best food outlet in food court @ Forum mall. Tried their malabar chicken biryani & eri pori chicken, a boneless chicken starter. Malabar chicken biryani was very tasty , prepared with right amount of spices & the meat well cooked. Felt the quantity of rice could be a bit more. Eri pori chicken was crispy, but felt it lacked some spices. They have a wide variety of items in their menu which needs to be explored. Recommended!!!

Bit pricey but good food. Quantity is little less. However Service and all is good.. people standing here help to understand what is what for a new person who is not aware of the food...

Whenever I go to the Dairy circle side a visit to the Koramangla Forum is a must. Post window shopping or shopping - a visit to the Transit marks the final pit stop. During my latest visit - discovered this newly opened food odyssey.

Since my acquaintance with a malayali family and my recent Kerala trip I have started loving malayali food even more and here I found some of the same things which I had in my hostess's house recently. What was beyond my expectation was the kind of freshly prepared , home styled kerala specialities which I never even expected in a food court. After tasting a few snacks we just could not resist going on and on. We even had dinner in the same place.

Apart from the regular dishes like chicken fry ,puttu-kadala curry, etc, there were certain malayali specialities we tried right there and absolutely loved them-

Ada ( a favourite snack from Kerala, made of rice with coconut & jaggery filling ; this is pretty similar to some of the 'pithey' in bengali cuisine.

Pazham Pori or banana fritters - this is another Kerala speciality , banana fried with rice flour batter.

Kozhukatta - Steamed rices balls coconut and jaggery filling.

Eri Pori Chicken ( the shape of these fried chicken served on plantain leaf is interesting)

Kerala Chicken bun - this was very innovative , its an Indian version of the burger with chicken patty and egg masala served to us wrapped in plantain leaf.

In mains we had - Karimeem Masala (I have started loving since my fort Kochi visit, its apparently a very special fish consumed in Kerala) , appam and veg stew, chemmeen (prawn) curry (the fresh curry leaves seasoning , tasted heavenly ; as I know, that outside home , especially in a food court , i did not expect this quality or quantity of food) , squid masala etc.

The end sums up the experience - fish pollichathu was too good. Its the Kerala version of bengal's 'paturi'

I feel this place is just not a food court food - its absolutely restaurant grade - warm food which we all love. Especially after a long day at work - when the only way to reward oneself is treat myself to good food - this is the place I shall head to.

I shall have to visit this place for meals too.

Liked the fish meal. Both fish fry and curry was served with Kerala Fish Thali@210. Fish quantity and quality was SUPER. Brown rice rice was not up to the mark as it was over cooked. All other items were super. GO GO FOR IT.

My family had a non veg kerala meal and 2 Malabar chicken biriyani from here. Both were really good. Found the Malabar biriyani to be better than the ones I had from most malayali restaurants in this area.

I had appam with shaapu fish curry which I consider as one of the quintessential food choices when we consider seafood cuisine typical to Kerala. I would recommend this dish any day with a glass of kuluki sharbat to overcome the fiery spice of the curry! Bon appetite guys!
