I had ordered a custom Sky diving theme cake , and no doubt they did their best. The work on the cake was beautiful and neat. I had chosen vanilla cake with real strawberries , it had a light and a very refreshing taste. Everyone in the party enjoyed the cake. I am definitely coming back to butter side up for more ocassions. They deliver what they promise !
Custom ordered a set of cupcakes for Christmas, must say they were too cute to eat. Just as the picture provided. Also they offer a variety of flavor to choose from, taste wise they really were good.
The only con was the pricing which by my experience was not fixed, they should have more professional approach in that matter.

Been ordering from them for 4 years now.. love the cakes, they're soft and moist and just right. Love the customization too. Although, earlier they were much more accommodating with the customers wishes than they are today, which probably is because of the heavy number of orders they get. But amazing cakes none the less.
So on my bday, wife surprised me with a wonderful Blueberry cake along with Cup cakes from this place.
The Blueberry cake was fantastic having soft crust and yummy Blueberry cream.
But the cupcakes stole the show. My wife had asked for customized cupcakes and she gave the designs like Hulk, Face with Spiky hair, Sleeping emoticon, Guitar, Berry fruits and chicken. All these talk about me and she asked them to have it on top of the cupcakes. To be honest, the design and creativity was mind blowing. Have not seen such customized cupcakes till now.
One should try the customised stuff and i am sure you will love it.
We were throwing a bachelorette party for a friend and we just taught of trying this place no regrets , they made sure the cake looked the same way WE wanted and also the cake tasted AMAZING thank you butter side up. 😊

Cupcakes - red velvet & butterscotch
Tasted very good and had a very soft texture.
And though i always found fondant to be a let down, but their fondant was not at all too sweet and was very much edible.
Cake - german chocolate
Great texture and very chocolaty as i desired. But there was some coconut and nuts in it, which i dis not relish so much. Its my fault that i never enquired about it and just randomly ordered the flavour. Though its not at all a bad choice but i was looking forward to a just a chocolate. Shouldn’t have experimented without any knowledge! The cake’s appearance can be improved a little i believe.
The payment procedure was seamless and i co-ordinated over call only. Just went there to collect the cakes.
I am not very fond of colored commercial cakes and cream icing, so was looking for cake with butter icing and quality. I had ordered in the morning and by evening they had prepared the chocolate with peanut butter cake ready. Apart from going and picking up the cake on my own, I must say the cake was yummy and definitely want to eat more. One suggestion you can work a bit more on presentation, but maintain quality which is your plus point. Thank you!!
I ordered a chocolate cake for my cousin’s birthday and a pineapple cake for my dad’s birthday. The cake’s design and decoration was exactly the same as I requested. Sharada gave me suggestions and was very patient with me and the changes I asked . The chocolate cake was good but the pineapple cake was slightly burnt at the bottom, it had become a light brown shade. But with all this, the cake nor the fondant had the egg smell or taste like other places. Just want the cake to be more moist the next time. If that’s achieved then it’s a 5 star next time!! 😄

A regular customer of Just Bake and Chef Baker's for all occasions at my home... Decided to try something different for my husband's bday and chose this outlet.
Was little skeptical but I got good end results.
I called the provided number and ordered a half kg blueberry cream cake. On asking about cupcake customisation... The lady said that she could do it as she wasn't loaded with orders..as may was off season.
So asked for 6 customised cupcakes with two flavours as she asked for a minimum of 3 cupcakes of one flavour for customisation. Opted for red velvet and peanut butter and the cupcakes were decent in taste.
Best part was the customisation on them...as you can see the pictures..they did a very good job with minute detailing on each. The bluberry cake was delicious but could have been little better in terms of the design.
Nevertheless... Loved the cakes overall and best part being the attitude of the person I spoke to....did not get her name even when asked.... She mentioned to keep her store open till my cake is being picked up for delivery.
They don't deliver on Fridays and the weekend which way little disappointing but she did provide me a way out on that!! Will definitely recommend if u are looking for good customised cakes for any occasion!!!
I must say I was superbly surprised when Butter Side up designed this cake exactly the way I described over the phone !!.. At a day notice and beautifully and yummiest cake. my team loved it and I must say the chocolate cup cakes are heavenly. They were so divine... we couldn't get enough. I am so going in for the chocolate menu of their cakes next time. Hearty thanks to Sharada who made this all happen and made the day with this lovely cake.

Once we ordered a customized cake from this place, we no more had to look for other options. You just have to explain her the theme of cake you want, she will also help you with it. Make sure you place an order a weak before atleast. She will put her best efforts to make your cake look like the way you want it and taste even better. We have ordered cake from here two times and everytime the cake exceeded our expectations. Though i find it a little costly..but the cakes made our special occasions memorable...so happy :)
Wow Wow Wow...i am simply in love with your cakes. We were searching for a great bakery in Bangalore and now I guess our search has finally ended. Ordered cupcakes for my wife's birthday yesterday. The design and the level of customization were top-notch and the taste was delicious. The color combination of the cakes was good too. They allow you to customize the cakes as per your theme and preferences. The only downside is they do not do home delivery for all locations, which could be a dampener.

The response was real quick & my requirement ( theme of the cupcakes) was understood with great interest. Sarada who spoke to me was smart enough to bring my imagination into reality. Minute details very crafted brilliantly on the cup cakes. My husband was pleasantly surprised with the sight & extremely delicious cakes. I chose butterscotch & chocolate flavours. Butterscotch was yummers 😍 The fondant.. ufffoo❤️ The cupcakes were delivered carefully on time. The payment was online & happened smoothly.
Suggestion: In case you want more variety of flavour for the cupcakes, pls do mention when you explain the theme. Might be difficult to source in the last minute.
While I was struggling to find places to make a theme cake for my husband's birthday at a very short notice, Butter Side Up was a pleasant surprise and did an amazing and very intricate job at that!

My friends ordered 16 themed cupcakes for my birthday each of them with a different idea going on it.. somethings they were as quirky as a 3D scooby -doo figurine but the team at Butter side up managed to make it happen.. 😃 my friend who ordered the cupcakes vouches that they were very patient throughout the idea gathering and delivered on everything as was promised!
The flavours of the cupcakes were chocolate, German chocolate and Peanut butter! And each of it tasted impeccable.. light and aerated, with a chocolaty undertone. I loved them and everyone who tried them asked us who we got them from!

I gave them a last minute order for red velvet cake for my husbands bday.. despite of few hassle I gave them.. they delivered the cake till my office on time.. though we couldn't cut the cake that night as he was running high on fever.. the cake was fresh moist n yummy on the next day as well.. n when it comes to taste it was the best red velvet cake I have ever had...

I liked vanilla cake, but chocolate is not great. It's bit expensive but worth buying it. This is the 4th time I am ordering from here. It's better they have home delivery
Since we got quite late in making the order of the cake, "Butter Side Up" did not put us down AT ALL. This is the exact design we asked them to decorate it with "Heisenberg", and they added on an amazing white chocolate and caramel flavoured combination to the cake. Right from flavour of the cake, to freshness, to decoration...all of it deserves 5/5.

Cakes and pastry items have always been popular in town. But then always we have known brand like Sweet Chariot, Iyengar Bakery to be making them. Apart from these new brand like Just Bake, Chef Bakers, Calvins and other have come up. Now, there is another new trend that is picking up, which is having a kitchen and doing deliveries. These people focus only on making designer item or items that are pre-ordered. This gives flexibility to the people making it. One such place is ‘Butter Side Up’.
Background
It only has a kitchen in Bellandur. I might have been around in this area for a while but somehow haven’t been to call them and order at the right time-frame. Coz they take pre-order 4hrs in advance. The order can be placed before 5pm. And ofcourse these folks are specialized in making CUPCAKES which sure is the in-thing these days.
Remembering the times when we used to have muffins and now the idea of having a cream and design has become so popular. And also folks realize that it’s a big business coz it isn’t as big as cake, small and can be finished in one bite.
Location
If you are in the road below Bellandur flyover near Central, take the road alongside the Mast Kalandar. The road leads to ‘Ramdev Medicals’ where you need to take left an then immediate right. There is a famous ‘Phulke Ghar Ke’ restaurant and then ‘Butter Side Up’ kitchen is in the 1st floor.
When your pre-order, you will need to pick it up from here.
Food/Pastry/Cupcake
There are multiple varieties of cupcake which includes the Fruity varieties and the ones with the chocolate toppings. I have tried quite a few of the varieties in 1 days and let me share my thoughts.
Chocolate Flavours – I tried 2 of them which probably included the Caramel Chocolate Dutch Truffle and I think Chocolate + Nuts. Each of them were pretty good and would melt in the mouth.
Ideally you should be consuming them immediately, if not keep it in open.
If you are keeping it for long time, better store in cooler, may be fridge as the last resort the cupcake butter cream can get hard.
Fruity Varieties – I tried the Mango, Orange and Strawberry variants. These were pretty okay, I felt so coz the flavours were induced by the essence. The natural taste of the fruit was not coming out.
Overall Experience
A good place to pick up cupcake. Ideally you should be picking up the chocolate varieties. It’s a good item to be taken if you are expecting guests at home and want to give them a sweet treat. My rating for this place would be 3.5/5. I guess the mark were lost coz of the fruity flavours and also a bit coz of the hassle of having to go find the place. May be a bit more stream-lined process would help. And also the packaging was very ordinary in the brown cardboard box with some cello-tapes. There are other nice cupcake shops that take of these details.

I ordered 25 cup cakes and Black forest cake from Sarada's Butter Side up for my Bro's 25th birthday. I wanted the items he is obsessed about on each of the cake. I gave her a list of 30 items and asked her to choose 25 items for the cake. She did an amazing job with the cup cakes. Both the black forest cake and the cup cakes tasted well. I personally loved the Pineapple cup cakes. Cup cakes were the talk of the party and everyone started guessing what is on each cake. It was so much fun. She is an amazing person to work with and brings the idea to reality. I would totally recommend her.
We ordered twice from here for our office birthday parties. Cake tasted good and natural.
Only thing is they should charge less for delivery and update the menu prices listed here in zomato.

TASTE : Fresh Pineapple Cake was super yummy with fresh chunks of pineapple - the best of the lot. Ferrero Rocher Chocolate Cake was good but personally I would have liked it more moist/silky smooth. Cup Cakes were good, but not THE best I have ever tasted. They tasted good, but too dry in my opinion. All cakes were visually appealing. Most importantly they were liked by my niece.
DELIVERY : Delivery options are not really flexible, but you can order online/phone and collect delivery at their production unit in Bellandur (near Central). They may probably deliver if you are around Bellandur area.
SERVICE : The owner we spoke to (Sharada) was very sweet and took all my requirements patiently and suggested betterments. It was a pleasure talking to her who listens to customers patiently. Also, she was kind to accept my request with just 1 day notice. Ideally I would suggest you to order a week in advance for specialized theme cakes.
SUMMARY: Theme Cakes for special occasions - Recommended
Excellent work done by team, have ordered cup cakes - Diwali theme. It was amazing and beautiful. Quality and Tate was awesome, but quantity i felt it was less for price they charge . Delivery options was not flexible by them. Overall had good experience. Rating 3.5

Ordered cup cakes for anniversary. Cakes were really very nice and tasty. I had requested smiley designs but I was not very happy with the finishing mainly because some of the edible colour has lightly started spreading.
We did not happen to finish all pieces that day and thus happened to eat them after 2 days, after storing them in refrigerator. But the cakes remained good. I felt it pretty pricey at Rs. 80/- per cup cake, which makes me take away one rating point :) (No cards accepted) . I was curious to have a look at their kitchen, but strangely the lady simply denied. Nevertheless, one of 'the' places for cup cakes. Thumbs up!!

Came across Butter Side Up through FB and my-oh-my what a discovery! My initial days were spent just drooling over their confectionary pics on FB and then came a chance in the form of my mum's b'day to test waters.
I ordered a regular coconut cake (half kilo for INR 295) and two German chocolate cupcakes and Banana cupcakes each. I didn't want to go for any theme based cakes (which btw they are pro at!) as it was my first time and I wanted to stick to basic stuff. But I not only did not go wrong about my choice of cake but was also pleasantly surprised by the enterprising/entertaining duo. The cake was PerfecT to the T and the cupcakes... well they just melt in your mouth! I had grown quite sick of eating old and crumbly cupcakes across several confectioners in Bangalore. But this was simply heavenly! My order was delivered well within the time I had asked for and duo even sang a b'day song for my mum which was absolutely sweet of them.

A tiny bakery whom finding can be a bit adventurous :).Once reached, you may be disappointed by a small shop, so jump directly to the desserts. The snacks are decent. I tried their tropical sunrise(or surprise something, a concoction of mango with coconut cream) which was one of the freshest thing I had in a long time. Also, we ordered a chocolate cake(450 INR) which was soft, flavorful & beautiful.

Am not from Bangalore but their cake had travelled to me all the way to Chennai last Christmas. butter side up's rich plum cake was gifted to me by a friend and I must say it was amongst the very best X'mas cakes I have ever had. Moist, rich, and bursting with nuts and dry fruits, it was out of this world. A tinge of spice to the proceedings made it a master class. Their chocolates are also good (again they made the six hour trip to Chennai!) I am looking forward to visiting the cafe in person when I come to Bangalore next.

The first thing that struck me was yellow :) Sunny, happy and sunshine filled yellow!!! And thats not just to do with the walls at this place...
butter side up is a wonderful, warm and honest to earth kind of place. The food is as charming and fun as the name of the cafe. And this place is ALL about the food. True to their name, their food fills you (and mind you, I am not just talking about the tummy!) with a lot of happy, positive vibes. I absolutely adore their cup cakes and their sandwiches are yumm! Their fragrant corn and spinach tart (or tartlet as they refer to it) were just to die for. With some cutting chai to go with my order, the place just did wonders to my mood :) Ask me... Went there the first time one grumpy Wednesday evening post work :) and was back a couple of days later and back again the next week and... ya am sure you get the picture :P
I believe they take up catering orders as well as orders for cakes and the like. Hoping to try it out sometime soon.
Now for the bummers... It is not open on Sundays and they shut by 7 :( And it is located a bit out of the way and I dropped in / discovered butter side up ONLY because a friend asked me to check the place out. BUT all this DOES NOT take away from the attraction the place holds. Its hard not to get hooked to butter side up!!!
