Had been here for lunch on a Saturday. We were welcomed and shown our table immediately. The ambiance is very peaceful. It's a house, which belongs to one of the nieces of Mysore royal family, converted into a cozy restaurant. Our orders were taken by Chef Shakeel, who upon our request, recommended a starter from "Feast India co", whose seating area is merged with Fat Buddha. He suggested us "Galawat ke kabab" - vegetarian version which was amazing. It simply melts in your mouth, just like how our chef mentioned while helping us choose our dish. For main course, we ordered Thai red curry which was full of flavors. We had requested them to make it thick and rich and they delivered exactly how we wanted it. Coming to the staff, Chef Shakeel was an absolute delight. He's the most welcoming and gracious host that we've seen in a very long time. We shall definitely be going back.
We suddenly visit this place with my friend. We had glass of wine and some chicken s. It was great experience. But there is no music
The place looks really good and has a decent seating capacity. The staff was very polite and got us everything pretty quickly. The food was good but not amazing. One dish was bland but overall the food was fine. The only downside was the price. 8 of us ended up paying close to 6.5k which was quite expensive.

Another experience ordering in....we had the Veg Hakka Noodles, Veg Burnt garlic fried rice, Sauteed Chicken in Chili Oyster Sauce and Koengs Chili Chicken....I would rate the food fairly good and right among the top Indo Chinese restaurants in Bangalore. The portions of noodles and rice were small and we loved the veg burnt garlic fried rice and the chili chicken. I would certainly go back...
Had heard great things about the place, but honestly ive had better. Ambience is amazing, staff is extremely helpful, and it is well located aswell. Was a bit disappointed with the food though.
I love your Fish in Malay style, over and over again. It is a cozy place and now with both the restaurants that you are running, it gives us more variety to try. Also your staff is very friendly, super thumbs up there !
I would love to come more often if the prices were 20 - 30 % less :)
Courteous staff (Nivaas was the waiter at my table and he did a nice job) . Quick meal preparation (The main course is ready even before you finish your soup. The dessert arrives even before you finish your mains). Soothing ambiance.
Must try for vegetarians: Manchow soup, grilled vegetable satay, and Crispy vegetables in sauce (Order this only if you don't mind oily food).
Cons: Caramel custard is not recommended.
Food for the soul!
Personal favorite is the Man chow soup and the spring rolls!
Just the right amount of flavour in any dish that you order.
Cozy enough for a gloomy evening or dinner and a lovely place for lunch as well!
A recommend for sure!!
A very calm and peaceful restaurant. AMBIENCE is great. Manchow soup was great. Fat buddha Shangai rice and noodles combo was delicious. Must try buddh berry mocktail.

Food, place and the location perfect for a nice family dinner r a couple dinner who like to enjoy the Chinese and Thai food with some nice service and quite surrounding.
Must try the chilli chicken and the Fat Buddha mix if u ok with rice and noodles with some grave in one bowl.
Overall a nice quiet place which u will enjoy with dinner.
A good place to try some chinese food. The singapore noodles and the garlic fried rice were good. Prices are a bit high. Could visit once for the good food.
Although the place is at the heart of the city, it is away from the hustle of the city.
It is a calm place. A place where you can have long dinner conversations with decent low music in the background. The staff is courteous.
Good Chinese. Good but not great.
Feedback: Resturant should work on the presentation of the food when it is served.
Let me start by saying that we found the place as one of the finest oriental restaurant in the city. Both my husband and I are huge fans of Pan-Asian food and we were delighted by the food served here. The restaurant is located on a inner road from the main road, hence is not easily visible from the main road. Neatly put up garden is at the entrance, the restaurant is set up in a traditional Chinese restaurant indoors style. What led to an amazing experience for us is ofcourse the food which starts from the diverse menu options to the delicious taste. We ordered for steam wontons in ginger soya, Wok braised fish in chili bean sauce and burnt garlic chicken fried rice to go with it. Wontons were luscious and the sauce & bell peppers added to its flavor. The combination of burnt garlic chicken fried rice and fish dish was delectable and had an aesthetic appearance plus an aromatic flavor. Its a place that we would like to visit again.
The ambience of the restaurant is really good with well served Thai and Chinese food!
They have a friendly staff and cool place for the long lost friends to meet!!
American pan fried hakka noodles got to be my favorite since the day I got in here!
Fat Buddha had been round for a long time and are known for their ambience in addition to the food they serve.
Asian cuisine focused around Chinese, they are heavy in one's palette as well their wallet.
Food- 4/5. Great food and impressive plating
Ambience- 4/5. The ambience is great. Looks beautiful
Staff- 4/5. Quite courteous but could improve on their promptness.
A very laid back place pretty close to the heart of the city. The first thing I noticed is the serene ambiance around this place. It has the charm of old Bangalore and the greenery that comes with it.
It was a Thursday afternoon and the restaurant was almost vacant barring a couple of tables.
Coming to the food, the thick mushroom soup was outstanding followed by the Satay and the Thai chicken. The Singapore noodles and the vegetarian Buddha's delight were also decent. I have a feeling that the starters were tastier than the main dishes however that should not be a let down. The food quality is pretty good and the plates served decent quality.
Fat Buddha not only serves Asian cuisine but also Indian delicacies.
Nice cosy environment for lunch with Decent price. Food was yum and service was prompt. Reach early to avoid afternoon rush as location is near to offices. They serve wine as well..
Petty quit and nice place for Chinese food .a must try is chicken celantro soup . Good place for couples for a date . Nothing bad about this place cost for 2 will be around 2k.
Nice ambience but entrance was bit scary. You have to cross a abandoned house to reach the reach the restaurant. And no one is there to assist you in the entrance. Whatever nice decor inside but tables are closely joined with the chairs which may lead you to jump inside of it.
Ordered for a LEMON CILANTRO SOUP AND CRISPY VEGETABLE SAUTÉ. Soup was fine not that hot, how much it should be if it freshly made, crispy vegetables reminds me some roadside stall, where people fries the vegetables from long ago and just sauté with some sauce upon receiving the order, I called their floor manager (a bald guy) the report about the same, but failed to convince him that it was not up to the mark, might be some other reasons too. That restaurant was quite empty, that might make the staff that lazy. Their manager was very proactive. Food was good in taste
The place is serving great Chinese food. We tried the crab meat, rice with lamb curry and were delighted with the taste , the service and the presentation. It also has a lovely ambience and the garden outside gives you a Zen feel !
The food is finger licking good👌🏻both veg and non veg.Their service/servers are very polite and well mannered.ambiance is great and center of the city.I could just spend the whole day with my friends and folks at this place.Must visit.
The food was out of the world. As a non vegetarian it is very difficult to get impressed with vegetarian food - but this place took the vegetarian food to a whole new level. Everything that we ordered was JUST WOW.
The staff and management were very kind and friendly. The ambience is very soothing.
The staff recommended us with a Thai tofu starter and a North Indian cauliflower and pineapple starter and a paneer curry which was scrumptious.
Visited there for lunch. Nicely done quaint place. ordered veg fried rice with vegetable chili garlic sauce. Both tasted very well. Had a satisfying lunch.

Liked the place and food reminds of old style Chinese food at Bangalore...
This place serves the old style Chinese and Thai food, thai food to a limitation..
This place has a limited seating and parking nor available at the restaurant place.
Soup is good and starters suggested by them were good...
Rice and noodles have worked out good...but the jasmine rice or sticky rice would have been better for green curry..
Would definitely visit again...enjoyed
Came with my mother to celebrate her Birthday. Though the indoor seating is not that fancy or great- looks like a couple of seaters with a bar counter. But the staff there are very courteous and the food is exceptional. Its quite reasonable for the pockets as well.
A full course meal for two that included a soup, a starter, rice and main course and dessert cost us about 1500Inr. Plus the food being tasty was a real blessing for the evening.
Would definitely come over again.
Superb food, superb service and happy taste buds! Only one drawback, the place could be improved in various ways. The decor is not finished at many places but apart from all that, the food here is delicious! Thank you guys!
I am from Hyderabad. Have been here for a couple of times. The food is good and the staff are well behaved. It's bit congested but the overall experience is good.
First things first... apologies for delayed review...
Now I think the place was not meant for me... though the quality and hygiene was great... but I could not understand the food... who puts lady-finger in chicken recipe... and the quantity of combos was never ever near my expectations... so people who are hardcore non-veg lover... I don’t think the place is for you... :)
It is not very difficult to find this place. Its bright pink board will catch your eye. It's in the building next to Accenture. We were greeted well.
The place was quiet and cozy until the lunch hour rush began. It is a very cute place for a lunch/dinner date.
To start off with I wanted to try the Bodha Berry Mocktail but it was a bummer that they did not have it. They served some cucumbers and carrots when we sat down.
Went on to have some lemon cilantro soup. The one by two portion was a lot. And it had a bit of extra lemon than what I would have like. For starters we had veg fried wontons and crispy chicken something. The wontons were good, the sauce was also good. But, the chicken was not as what we expected it to be. It was a bit rubbery and we felt as it was a day old. We skipped finishing that plate.
We went on to have some veg Singaporean Noodles and Malaysian spicy potatoes. Thumbs up for the two. Pretty good dishes. And we didn't have space for any desserts cause the portions were good enough.

Nice, quiet spot on Cunningham road.
Tucked away in the by lanes of Cunningham road, this Asian restaurant is like an oasis. The place was empty when we entered but got quite busy after. The service and ambiance is great. They have quite a variety in terms of food. The Thai salad is really good and so was the mock tail we had. The Singapore noodles is a good option for main course. We were stuffed with the food so we didn’t have dessert. Worth trying it out especially since there aren’t many options that side where the college crowd isn’t thronging.
Fat Buddha is a secluded restaurant located right next to the Accenture building. The ambience is very peaceful, serene and laid back. The outdoor seating is surrounded by greenery which is very calming. However, we preferred to be seated inside because the weather was too humid outside. The indoor seating is quite comfortable with a glass window to keep the view in mind.
For appetiser we ordered the crispy Sichuan babycorn and for main course we went for the burnt garlic vegetable fried rice with vegetables in Hunan sauce
Crispy Sichuan babycorn consisted of fried, crisp babycorn with colour bell peppers tossed in a flavourful, not too spicy sauce. It had a hint of tanginess along with the flavour of lots of cilantro stalks. It was very delicious and gave the meal a good start
The burnt garlic fried rice was mild in terms of spice but the flavour of fried garlic elevated the dish. The vegetables in Hunan sauce made the perfect accompaniment to the fried rice. It had all my favourite vegetables like broccoli, zucchini, squash, carrot, babycorn and also had chunks button mushrooms in it. The vegetables were crisp, the sauce wasn’t spicy as given in the menu but was well balanced and the consistency was perfect.
The service was polite and the meal was very filling for the two of us. The portion size is good which made up for the extra bucks that we shelled. To sum it up, good food with pleasant ambience. I also enquired once, for my friend, the food they serve is halal.

Quaint and calm, Fat Buddha is tucked away in a peaceful corner away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Discovered this place by accident but totally loved the serene ambience and the awesome food. The portions were of decent quantity and the quality mirrored the authentic taste of pan Asian cuisine. The staff was friendly and courteous. Only set back - we asked for ice cubes to cool the water but they had some foreign residue melting down from them. When enquired, even the waiter couldn’t figure out what it was. Except for this, was all the more a wonderful dining experience.
Amazing food with a welcoming ambience..staffs are really good n service is fast..must recommend if u really want to have some private time with friends n family..
Authentic food. Thai red curry with rice and the soup was fabulous. Fried wonton could have been slightly better. Loved it. Will be back soon to try out some of their other items on the menu
One of my favourites places to have lunch. It's quiet and has a beautiful ambience. Especially for the table outside there is a small garden view you can enjoy. The food is well seasoned and hits the spot. I always leave here with an over full belly.
The place has a cozy ambience, private and a prefect place for a quiet and satisfying meal. The food tastes very good and the quantity is sufficient for 2. I personally love the pepper garlic fish and fragrant prawns. The burnt garlic rice is made to perfection. The Thai curry is simply mouth watering. Ravi from the staff is very courteous and helpful. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to others.
Been at regular at this place for the past 4 years, and never been disappointed! Lovely ambience, quick and warm service coupled with great food! Must must visit!
Ambience is very romantic
Highly recommended for a date night
Located in a quiet building on busy cunningham road
Excellent food quality and great service
Highly recommended dish: The babycorn satay which is served with a signature peanut sauce
Their flavoured green tea after the food
Only negative:Little tight on parking if the place is full
But overall is a great experience and must visit for chinese food
I was here for lunch with a friend this afternoon . Its my second time to this place, and this restaurant definitely doesn't disappoint me. To talk a bit about the ambience, its quite nice and warm in here. Its nothing very fancy, but moderately well done up outside with a lot of plants.
They have a lot of options on their menu. We ordered a few mocktails, and each one was better than the other.
The food was quite nice, amazing flavours and good value for money. I would really like to give a shout out to the man who looked after us this afternoon- Ravi. He took such good care, and recommended so many good dishes. He was extremely curteous and proactive.
The only minus I can think of at this restaurant is their restroom, it definitely needs better maintaining. Maybe they should also focus a bit on painting up the walls inside the dining area , which i noticed was chipping out and damp. Not a very pleasant sight.
Overall, for the food and the service I give Fat Buddha a thumbs up!
Food was average.
Service must improve.
A very very quite place.
Staff should definitely learn how to communicate with the costumers and be polite enough.
Have been here 3-4 times
The Ambience is very nice and romantic. Though it's a bit small with 10-12 tables. So I would recommend Prior booking.
The food has always been good, if not for wow.
Would recommend the Barbeque Fish, Tofu Chilly and the chicken wings.
It's about 200-250/plate, The quantity per dish is also pretty good. So don't mind paying the price
Located in a quiet corner in a bunglow, this is a favorite spot of ours for Asian food. Have been here many a times and left quite happy.
Their manchow soup and honey chilli potatoes are to die for.
Staff is quite friendly and the service is fast.
Keep serving good n yummy food Fat Buddha.
Tasty food and one of the best Chinese cuisines I have had till date. It’s a must visit restaurant for Chinese cuisine lovers. Don’t miss it
If you want to eat Chinese, this place will never disappoint you. Been here a couple of times and the food has always been good.
We had an infant with us and they made sure we were given a couch.
Good hospitality.
They now have Valet Service too.
Edit
They have drastically improved the food quality. Had been really long since we had good Indian Chinese- but please increase the quantity. It’s too less for the price.
Funny smelling stuff. All food here tastes something similar to when a home cook attempts Asian cuisine and fails horribly. We did a home delivery since we heard rave reviews from a friend - definite miss and won’t be ordering in again.
Went to this place for a nice lunch with my friends, but it is suitable for a corporate meal as well. The ambience is very pretty and calm. The staff were friendly and the service was good. The food was absolutely delicious, especially the spring rolls which are usually just floating in oil in other restaurants.
After all the years finally visited this place. Ambience is on the average side.
Started of with manchow soup, it was good.
Loved CHICKEN KATSU, must try for all.
Brunt Chicken fried rice with Sauteed Chicken in chilli was just yumm. Service was one of the best.

Good ambience inside and outside restaurant. Peaceful Atmos. Very good food at reasonable price. Fat Buddha Rice, Chilli Cauliflower, Spring rolls, Tom yum soup and Grilled tofu mushroom. Very good service and exceptionally fast.
Even though this place is old, love some of the dishes here. Noodles and dimsums are my fav always n its tastier here. The appetizers are too tasty, soups as well.
Fat Buddha is a quaint, quiet Asian restaurant tucked away behind an unassuming residence on Cunningham Road. It's food, however, is anything but. Classic and contemporary Oriental flavors thrill your palate. Some of my favorites here are the Grilled Chicken with Cilantro and Lemongrass, Grilled Tofu and Mushrooms in Barbeque Style, and the Keong's Chilli Chicken. The fried rice here is a hands-down winner, be it vegetarian or non-vegetarian. As for mains, I highly recommend the Vegetables in Hunan Sauce if you are vegetarian. The choice of vegetables is delightful and the seasoning on the broccoli is sensational. If you are non-vegetarian, do try the Chicken Malay Style, Pla Pahd Cha (a Thai-style stir fried fish preparation), and Garlic Steamed Prawns.
At lunch time, you are likely to see small groups from nearby offices but it's dinner when Fat Buddha is enjoyed best, particularly in the company of a loved one or close family. Service is pleasant and unobtrusive.
They have a small selection of wines and mocktails. I would have preferred a wider selection of alcoholic drinks but you win some and lose some. The price is also more than your average Asian meal but the quality of the food and service befits the price. I am nitpicking at best here.
On the whole, Fat Buddha is an exquisite place to enjoy a quiet Asian meal which feels authentic without making you stray too far from your palate's comfort zone. Therefore, It gets my unsurprising vote for being one of the best of it's kind in the city.
This place is very near to our office in Vasanth Nagar and is next to Accenture office.. we went for a team lunch to this place..most probably a bungalow converted to this restaurant this place looks very neat and resort type and gives you a really nice food experience..having both vegetarian and non-vegetarian people in the group we ordered many items starting from soups, noodles, fish starter, chicken starter, spring rolls and main course..can't say authentic Chinese taster but it was having a fusion of INDIAN in it..quick service and professional staff makes your experience even better..Good Going Team Buddha!
I went there with my family on my birthday. The ambience was nice and so was the food. We ordered chicken winglet for starters, and koi- Thai noodles, Malaysian fried rice and schezwan chicken as main course. Would highly recommend this place. The staff was also very courteous.
Very nice and cozy restaurant with big selection of Asian dishes mostly tailored to Indian tasted. Just be careful to guests' allergies. Recommended!
Quick and well packaged food delivery, and very good quality of food, and flavours are good too! Always a good option for Chinese and pan Asian food in the area.
After having wanting to go here from quiet some time, wr finally managed to visit the place.
Food was very tasty and nicely presented.
Service was good too!
Any particular Chinese foodie explorer out der?? Go for this one.... Taste, the cuisine, the ambience and especially the people serving:) all r awsm.. Jst a check- u need to dig a bit to find the restaurant.. It's a bit puzzling😂
It was dinner in Fat Budha.
Was bit difficult to locate as it is located behind a building and board on the main road is not visible enough to help locate the place.
It is located in a quaint place with a I will call "small seating place".
Ambience: Average, nothing to talk about
Service: Servers were attentive, who gave suggestions and seek feedback. Though serving time was slow but we were not in hurry (was engrossed in watching cricket set above in house bar).
Food: Overall good experience:
Tom Yum Chicken Soup: Was good as it is supposed to be
Chicken schezwan in bean sauce (can’t recollect exact name but was suggested by server and was not included in menu): Delicious with right mix of flavour.
Chicken Malay: Good again
Hakka Chicken Noodle: Very Average
Kwai-Tu Veg Noodles: Lovely, as described correctly it had nice tangy taste.
Overall a pleasant experience.
Had been on a sunny day..! Best place to chill out for lunch if u r a thai food lover then this a place u should explore.. food is quite good..
Love this place. We have been coming here for some years now and it has never disappointed. It's quiet and cool. Service is fast. Food is excellent.
I wss craving for chinese today so just checked the ratings on zomato and decided to try this one today for lunch. A shaddy place located at the corner of a residential complex. The back side of the complex was Fat Buddha restaurant. A small cozy restaurant with limited seating area. They have outdoor seating area as well. Indoors was neat and tidy. A weird smell was there which was taken care of when complained.
Courteous staff suggested us to try
Hunan chicken. This was crispy and we'll cooked in soya sause. It tasted delicious. The sauce was very tasty and enough for 2 people.
Instead of trying a gravy with rice, he suggested to just go in for this one. Fat Buddha shagai chicken was our main course. Rice, noodles and fried noodles with shredded chicken and egg. Another delicious dish by them which had veggies and roastd garlic as well. It had a gravy as well so we didn't had to order another one to compliment this dish. A well served portion perfect for 2.
I loved this place and would definetely recommend this one to everyone. Pricing is good and hard drinks are also available. Car parking is also available inside the residential property.

As this place is being closely located to my work place I visit often and never get bored.
Food tastes really authentic and perfect I would rather call it as. Crew is too friendly and approachable, ambiance is really neat and clean so a place that needs prefect visit to make yourself happy and your tummy happy!
Went there for lunch with my family and baby. Good ambience , great seating must day and food is tasty. Nice place for a lunch. Price is reasonable. Cons - the waiters are not trained well. Overall an ok place to go.
As my wife hasn't eaten Chinese for a pretty long time, it's decided that we will explore this place apart from the regular Chungs, wangs, Beijing Bites and the Chung wah.
Place - the restaurant is located right next to the Accenture building on Cunningham road, it's tucked away inside behind the apartment complex, parking is a bit of a challenge but thankfully when we went for lunch there weren't much crowd when we went. Seating is available outside as well but we choose to go inside which was neatly done and couple of tables near the window were reserved. So we took the center table. By the time we could start our lunch 3 other families arrived and the crowd was decent with the noise levels being absolutely low, much much better than the regular Chinese restaurants like the ones mentioned above.
Food - we ordered a soup couple of starters and main course. First we ordered manchow soup which was excellent, the balance of flavours were perfect and it was thick to perfection, good amounts of chicken chunk pieces made the soup even more tasty.
For the starters we ordered Keongs chilli chicken and a grilled chicken with Cilantro and lemon grass, but disappointed with tree quantities as it was not sufficient, the chilli chicken tasted good and was the chicken pieces were soft and juicy, the grill chicken lacked the punch!! The chicken breast pieces were thin in size and as mentioned before the quantity wasn't matching for the price mentioned.
For the main course we ordered veg American chopsuey and schezwan chicken noodles, the choupsey was tangy in taste, I'm not a big fan of choupseys but my wife enjoyed it!! The noodles tasted good as well and I was able to finish it off!!
Final words - As mentioned earlier the ambience was perfect and there was not much of noise, food is okie and priced on a higher side but as the saying goes all good things comes with a price. A soup, couple of starters and couple of main course will set you back by approx 2K. Here are some of the pics! Hope you enjoyed my review, until next time.....
Came here for dinner in a moderately large group of 16-17 approx people. They don't have tables that big, so we sat in disjointed tables all over the place. The ambiance and first impressions are nice. The restaurant itself hides in the back in a cosy little getup and if you didn't know about the place from before, you would not spot it. The inside is well maintained, the sofa seats are comfy for a good unwind. As for the food, this is one of the best asian cuisine I have had in a long time. We started off with the spicy crab meat soup which was really good. For the main course I had the Peking crab which was equally brilliant. The meat was succulent and greatly appetising. For rice, we had the Fat Buddha shanghai rice and the Burnt garlic chicken fried rice. The Shanghai is a mixture of crispy noodles and rice and frankly did not suit my taste. Others might differ. The garlic rice was fantastic and paired with the Wok roast lamb in devil's sauce and the Lamb in black bean sauce, it just hit the spot. The lamb meat again is soft and succulent and you get the flavour well when you pair it with the right rice. So in all, the food did not disappoint. Pro tip: pair the meat and the crab with good wine and it will be an experience not easily forgotten. We took in a couple of bottles of Grover la reserve and even though its more expensive than right off the booze shop, we didn't regret it. Where this place does fall apart is the service. Several of the waiters were thoroughly disinterested and it took quite an effort to get their attention. The main course came before the starters for several of my friends. The food in general took ages to come. Settling the bill again took a tremendous amount of time and this is in short the weakest link. If you don't mind that, definitely go for the good food at a moderately expensive budget.
We took our clients for lunch to Fat Buddha. I made a reservation 1 hour in advance and the tables were arranged promptly on time, even though all other tables were full. We realized our clients were vegetarians after reaching the place, hence ordered all vegetarian food. All the items we ordered were good and we were surprised to get such good vegetarian options in a pan Asian restaurant. Raw papaya salad and thai soup were super tasty. Service was prompt and ambience is lovely. It was a little noisy as we went on a busy Friday afternoon, but highly recommend this place for some great thai and Chinese food.
The food is alright. Nothing special. I found it a bit costly compare to the items. Ambience is good and the staffs are also well behaved. Overall I will rate it 3.7 from my side.
Its one of those find out when I was searching for a good pan asian restaurant in zomato. This place will be around 7mins walk from the fun cinemas at cunningham road.
Seven of us went there and I must admit that I was highly impressed to see the place. It had a lovely garden, earthen pots with floating lotus and beautiful flowers with some sitting arrangements made outside alongwith big umbrellas. But we went inside as were more in number and got seated in a comfortable sofa.
The service was courteous and welcoming; they even helped us to decide what to order by recommending some incredible stuff.
We ordered chicken lemon cilantro soup, keongs chilli chicken and grilled fish in black pepper sauce.
I was completely bowled over by their dishes. The food was cooked to perfection and the presentation too was alluring. The soup had a lovely taste of lime and cilantro, grilled fish was succulent, full of flavour and it was astounding. I simply relished it. Even the keongs chilli chicken was worth mentioning. It had the right blend of spices and we all savoured it.
Then we decided on our main course palate...we had non veg Kwai tu noodles, non veg Fat Budhha Shagai rice, Lamb in black bean sauce and Pla Pahd Cha. Each dish had its own uniqueness and had quite distinct taste. The kwai tu noodles were flat noodles mixed with veggies and chicken. It was yummy and a treat to have it. The Fat Buddha shagai rice was completely different and I have never tasted such kind of rice before. It had a gravy texture on the top and was simply topclass. Its a must try for all whoever visits this place. The lamb was soft, tender and fascinating. It will melt down in your mouth and you are bound to enjoy its sapidness. The Pla Pahd Cha was a combo of fresh chillies, baby ginger, thai basil with stir fried fish. Somehow the flavour fell flat after what he tried before.
I somehow will recommend everyone to try out this place if you are a true lover of pan asian cuisine. Its really a worth to try....
After a movie at fun cinemas,we were looking for a place to have lunch and my bestie discovered this little gem, just two blocks after cunningham road.
From the outside its looks so calm and serene and has such a lovely garden. As you enter, you would see its so peaceful and spacious. The staff are very courteous and good at suggestions.
We ordered for the lemon coriander soup and keongs chilli chicken and grilled fish in pepper sauce.I loved all the dishes, they tasted wonderful and brings a different taste to your palette.Moving on to the mains we ordered fat budhha shanghai rice, khwai tu noodles, roast lb in burnt garlic sauce and pla pahd cha which was a stir fried fish dish. Each dish tasted different from another.it was like a burst of fresh flavor on our pallette.Loved the food here.
The pocket pinch was quiet reasonable too since we had so many items.I'm definitely coming back next time I'm in this area.
Have been to this quaint neighbourhood restaurant a few time, like the ambiance, the courteous staff and yes of course the soul food.
Last evening, we decided to get a quick bite, food wasn't upto the mark!
I have had better food from your kitchen.
PS: Do maintain the sanity at your restrooms
Definitely a must try for all Chinese food lovers.
The advantages of the place:
1. Food served as fast as ever! Never seen a place with good crowd and fast service
2. Amiable staff: love the service quality
3. Options for veg and non veg are equal: me being a veggie and hubby a non veggie- found the veg delicacies to be absolutely brilliant- veg manchow soup and burnt garlic fried rice was good.
4. Good ambience: nice seating and pleasant
Scope for improvement:
1. Options for side dishes: could be more in variety and better in quality. The main dishes outnumber the sides in the quality score
2. Location/ visibility: the place is quite challenging to spot out for newbies like me!
3. More desserts - please :(
Will definitely visit next time and would recommend to all my friends who are food lovers!
Good job team.
Nice cosy place with a decent ambience. Very centrally located, The Fat Budha specialises in Pan Asian with focus being on Chinese. The food is good, and absolutely nothing to complain about. If there is one shortcoming it is the parking. Very limited place for cars and no valet service.
Loved the ambience of this place. It's cosy and feels warm. It was hard to find though but great food, courteous staff not expensive either . A place I would wanna repeat!!
The sliced lamb was truly heavenly. The dimsums were so soft and the vegetarian and non vegetarian options were both really good. The ambience is average and the approach is a little difficult but the food surely compensates for these smaller things.
Also a mention to the staff, very attentive and super family friendly.
Fat Buddha should also be called Fast Buddha. The fact is I hardly had time to do lunch here as I had to catch a movie right after. So as I entered I told the waiter that I needed the food to be served immediately as I had to rush out within 45 minutes.
Believe you me, they brought the food as quickly as they could and I was done with lunch within 40 minutes. Hence, I was impressed with their prompt service.
Coming to the food, we ordered Hot and Sour Soup, Pepper Chicken(dry), Hunan Chicken and Veg Schezwan Rice. The food was good. The only thing was that it wasn't served piping hot.
I've visited this place many a times. I quite liked this place. The ambience is good, the food quantity served is good. We ordered the soup, shezwan fried rice, Hakka noodles. It was good, Hakka noodles could be a lil better. The Darshan with ice cream is a must try!!
Visited this restaurant yesterday afternoon, was expecting good quality southeast Asian food as per friend. Firstly, the ambience is quite soothing, great background music. Ordered grilled fish, burnt garlic mixed fried rice n fish in black pepper soy sauce. I was amazed with the quality n taste. Every item was prepared with expertise. Went to many South east Asian- Chinese restaurant's in Bangalore in last 5 years, this will be one of the best to me. There are many overrated/hyped restaurant's like China Pearl but this restaurant isn't that famous to my surprise. May be coz of it's odd location. I hope most of the unbiased food lovers would like the food of this place. I really wish that they would open a branch near Koramangala or Indira Nagar!
Been here occasionally with colleagues in office and with friends for lunch! The food at fat Buddha is definitely one of the best in town. The cauliflower starter is a must. Rest of the food too is good. I like the their Thai green curry.
Be prepared to keep a good time in hand when you visit, their service is slow. Overall a nice ambience and experience
Every time we went there, we had an awesome time!!!! Had a memorable time with my best buddy Raghav :)
Excellent Chinese Cuisine and Ambiance. Must try Crispy chilly corn and fat fried noodles!
A little different than normal cuisines..
Needs improvement on service and management.
:Didn't try much of other items so rating 3.5:
A tidy little restaurant tucked away on the quieter side of Cunningham road. After trying this place for the first time, we realized that there are actually very few really good mid-market Pan-Asian restaurants in town (or at least on our side of it)! This is certainly one of them.
Of course not everything on the menu is fantastic - after a number of visits we've narrowed down on our favourites - raw mango/papaya salad, man chow soup, fragrant prawns (excellent this), Shanghai fried rice. Service is prompt and courteous. They've recently begun serving wine - selection and prices are reasonable. An owner/chef run restaurant who is hands-on and someone you'd find on the floor most often than not.
If you are a connoisseur of "true to the roots" Oriental cuisine, you must try this underrated little gem of a restaurant tucked away in a cosy corner of Vasanth Nagar.
Me and my wife have been here a few times, and we've absolutely enjoyed the fine dine experience on each occasion.
Food: Each of the dishes we've had - the Steamed wontons, Shiitake mushroom spring rolls, Buddha's Heaven, Fat Buddha Shanghai Rice, Vegetables in Hunan Sauce, Pad Thai noodles - were yummy with distinct flavours and authentic ingredients. Would love to try their grilled starters/ satays on our next visit.
Ambience: Comfortable seating, with elegant decor and soothing ambience, perfect for a romantic dine with your better half.
Price: Slightly on the higher side, albeit reasonable for the quality on offer.
Note to Management: Maintain the quality of food, service levels and cleanliness. Discerning foodies will keep coming back for more.
The whole experience began with the wonderful location it is at. Kind of like a backyard of an old English bungalow. Since we went in for lunch, we couldn't take advantage of the outdoor seating as it was pretty sunny, but will definitely be back to try it!
Excellent Chinese fare! Their Fish in Black Pepper Sauce came highly recommended, and didn't disappoint. It's a must try. That apart, the Fat Buddha Shanghai Rice and the Mixed Kwai-Tu noodles were are also excellent. Highly recommended!
Since my office address was close by, we used to visit this place often. They have awesome pan Asian cuisine. They also serve a four course meal which is pretty decent. They have veg, chicken and sea food platters in this. First course consists of welcome drink, next is starters , then main course which has rice / noodles along with a gravy.
Last they serve you a scoop of vanilla icecream .
The quantity is good and satisfying.
The place was suggested by a friend long back when he was on a visit to the city and so was there on my wish list for a while. And believe me, it was complete delight being there. If you want to have a peaceful dinner on a Sunday Evening without waiting or being in a queue, must visit this place.
By the look of it, you'll feel it's backyard of someone's house. Even Google maps says so - king's house. Not so big place with dim but enough lights and soothing music, tables and walls with some quotes about food makes the ambiance complete.
Journey of the place well written on the menu card. "Do read it".
Coming to food - quality is good. Decent portion. Awesome taste. We had veg manchow soup, crispy potato with tender pepper corn, baby corn salt & pepper and veg kwai-tu noodles.
Tender pepper corn was a nice experiment. So was kwai-tu noodles.
Staff - very nice host they are. They'll explain items you're ordering very nicely and even suggest you of you're trying something new whether to try or not. They do take good care.Priyanka Jain
This is a great place mainly for Chinese food. Their chicken chopsueys, fried rice, chili chicken, etc were just yummy. Staff were very helpful in picking the right food and very courteous. Great ambience and nicely tucked away from the noise and bustle of main road.
A very peaceful and silent asian restaurant in middle of Cunningham road. Best to visit when you really want to get away from your hectic day. Ratings for veg food on scale of 10:
Taste: 8
Ambience: 8.5
Service: 8
Value for money: 7.5
A very secluded restaurant near Vasanth Nagar. But very cozy as well. The lighting is much better than the inside. The parking can be a hazzle if the restaurant gets full. That's about the only problem. The food is brilliant.
Tranquil ambience. It was a great treat for taste buds. Service was good. Only two negatives - not so pocket friendly and no valet parking available.
I have been in bangalore for more than four years and feel terrible that its only now that i have found this absolutely wonderful place for oriental cuisine. My search for the best oriental food in bangalore probably ends here. I went there on a friend's suggestion. The place is quiet and relaxing. It looks like they have put a backyard of an old house to a good use. This place has a great outdoor and indoor ambience. About the food. Everything i tried was awesome. The wintermelon seafood soup and the basil soup were two great soups i've had in a very long time. Will definitely recommend. The thai Grilled fish was one of a kind. it had spices which complimented the delicate flavours of the fish. Strongly recommend that too. I will stop here and ask anyone going there to get adventurous and try whatever sounds appealing in the menu. This place, i hope, cannot possibly disappoint you with its food.
Luckily we beat the lunch rush and had our outdoor seating all to ourselves. Lovely garden setting that's protected from the noise and traffic of Cunningham Road. Glass noodles salad was light and slightly spicy. Main course was an Asian fusion of nasi goreng (rice) and Thai mixed vegetables in semi gravy. Both flavorful and very filling leaving no room for dessert. Service was especially courteous and prompt. Fat Buddha is a reliable lunch spot when you're in the area.

Looking for some delish pan-Asian cuisine in Bangalore? Head to this lovely restaurant nestled in a space of greenery and good vibes, at Vasant Nagar, Bangalore, en route to Cunningham Road. If you are planning a luncheon, make sure you have a reservation or simply reach early, as it gets packed with office-goers from the neighbouring corporate firms. Enjoy an al fresco lunch between 12-3 pm or a relaxed supper between 7-11 pm.
I went to fat buddha for my birthday dinner.Amazing ambience, amazing food and amazing service.Looking forward to going there again.Prices are worth the food they serve
A serene place with both indoor and outdoor seating serving Chinese and Thai food. The food is pretty good, however, it isn't consistent. During our first visit, we tried the "Fish in black pepper sauce" and it was really nice. It had the right amount of spice and we could see pepper corn on the fish. Since we liked this dish, we ordered it again during the second visit and this time, it didn't taste as good. The sauce was too much and there were hardly any pepper in it. Even the color of the sauce had changed a lot. Nonetheless, the taste was still good and it went well with the "Fragrant rice". The service is slow. But the ambience makes up for it. Overall a good place to try Chinese and Thai food.
Amazing place! The spiced basil soup here was simply delicious! Give the soup a 5 on 5!
The prawn platter was also divine!
A must try dishes! Kudos to the chef!
Very happy!
Work lunch for the sick. :P What a great relief from the cold this was. Great soup, good variety to choose from, good portions and quick service. Checks all the right boxes.
Should definitely try the fried wantons. Absolutely loved them.
Will recommend making a reservation for larger gatherings. The pricing may be slightly over the line, but since the quantities and quite large, sharing works out. Must try :)
Its a place for special occasions, food taste is excellent and its very much filling, suggestion is to mind ur order as quantity is more... Would reccomend this place
Cool and soothing ambience. It's so quite and in a back yard set up, you have out door seating if you prefer. Food is amazing... Good portion, balanced flavours and nice service. Thai Basil soup and Pan fried noodles were amazing. Filling.
Ambience: 4.5/5 (for a quite and cool place)

Enjoy you food.
Bon Appetite!
Been to this place a couple of times and always left this place with a smile on my face. The food, ambience is very good. Since the place is located little interior from main road, you will also get to enjoy your food without the noise of traffic or any other disturbance.
Superb ambiance and food..Very Tasty Soups and excellent Starters and Superb food in Main Course. Excellent Thai Red Curry, Crackling Spinach, Momos are also Yummy. Good service and a large spread of good like Chinese, Thai, Malaysian ,Indonesian Cuisine . They even have Grilled staters of Chinese and Thai which are Awesome. We ordered red Thai curry and steamed rice, which was just out of this world. Hats of to the Chef for a great experiance.
A cozy establishment, tucked just away from sight and if you ask me, a hidden gem in Vasanth Nagar. Consistent quality, excellent service, and a very pleasant ambience. The restaurant itself is not too big, so it's often very quiet, which I love. I recommend their chilli corn, which is a tad expensive but oh so worth it. A place I recommend for a nice quiet lunch, and one that I love making excuses to go to.
We found this hidden gem when we took our guest to Bangalore palace and we were searching for a restaurant in the vicinity. It is situated in backyard of an old Art Deco style bungalow. Surrounded by lush green trees , this pan Asian Restaurent was just the perfect place for us to have a very late lunch . Although we reached the place when the lunch time was over - staff accommodated us without much hassle . We started with crispy veg ( huge portion size) with iced tea and for the main course we ordered pad Thai - again huge portion size . Food was sumptuous and service was swift and non intrusive. With pricing so reasonable and and serving size generous , this place should be on your list to visit .
You really have to find this place as its secluded. had a good experience. Food is really nice and service is exceptional. Awesome place for an office lunch..
Been here a couple of times absolutely love tis place..Gud food amazing ambiance, service was very prompt and servers were very polite and gentle, they even suggested what food to try, goes to show tat they were aware of the food tats being served. FB's spicy crab meat soup & crispy chicken honey. They just need to increase their portions. All in all gud place to hav a nice Chinese meal.

Delicious potato salad with refreshing citrus zen mocktail. It was awesome light lunch had here. I should recommend everyone of u to come and njoy their tasty food..
My most favourite restaurant. I love the food and I never get sick of it! I have almost tried every single thing on the menu! You must try the tofu and mushroom barbecue, the Malaysian noodles and the garlic fried rice. Not to mention, the place is quite pocket friendly. Although it hides on a small road, it's not difficult to find! I strongly recommend this place for anyone loves Chinese-Pan Asian!
The place is hidden behind a building and the area is lovely and quiet. Ambience and food are good. Would recommend a visit. Caution avoid the toilets- recommend going before you visit..
This is a cute little place, next to accenture in vasanthnagar. When you enter, you will find a zen like atmosphere with a mini colourful garden and a single purple lotus rising amongst tiny glowing fishes! Must have is the Lemon Cilantro Soup (make sure you add vinegar pickled chillis for the extra oomph). The babycorn satay is golden fried babycorn with a sauce made of peanuts- it has a sweet ending. The babycorn in garlic sauce accompanied with schezwan fried rice promised a hearty feeling. The quantity is just right, not over the top. The staff too keen and observant- not much of peace there!
While I was visiting Bangalore last week, I came across this Small, quite but exclusive place to have fantastic quality Chinese. Very reasonably prices and fabulous service.
This is one of the most secludedly romantic restaurants. Less know but awesome. The spiced basil soup is to die for. And the grilled mushrooms are perfect for a mushroom lover. The ambience is lovely and the staff is courteous.
Must try - khao pad (coconut rice)

When ever I passed by this place I would think should come here finally I tried this cute little place
First ordered cilantro lemon veg soup which is a clear soup
Then the starters I had crispy chilly corn which was the best
Main course I had veg fried rice and some sauce what I liked about this pace is less oily in any food and well blend spices best pan Asian food
Mock tail I had citrus zen which was blend with orange and ginger
And the last thing to gulp down was caramel pudding or custard this is the best pudding I have ever eaten
I would definitely visit this cute place again 😄
you cant easily miss this place while driving on this road unless you have an eye for food , have been here couple of times located in one of the old premises of Bangalore , quieter place off cunningham road, real tasty food , remember having basil soup and fried lamb with sauce and rice.
they have good noodles , chicken and ice cream.. have tried them all .
Good food and ambience. Tried thai, Japanese and chinese. Liked the food. Sufficient quantity. Felt a bit expensive. Costed Rs.1300 for two.
One of my favourite Chinese restaurants.
It has just the right ambience, never disappointed with the taste & quality of the food served here, not to forget the friendly staff that serves well.
Quite a bit of choices for the vegetarians as well, spring rolls are not to be missed among with Schezwan Noodles.
Kudos to the team..keep it going 👍
Eventhough pricing is a bit high, food is good, especially I required non spicy for my kids, met my requirement. Good to experience at least once
The location of this restaurant was a maze to find as it is placed behind an apartment ..!! Took me half an hour to search the place ...my search came to an end when I saw a small board having the name... this made me upset ...But when I did enter the ambiance cheered me up...quiet and peaceful ..Our appetizer was sweet corn - tasty ...just like how i like it..!I had ordered sesame crispy mushroom for starters ,which I have to admit, was very appealing ...I enjoyed it..! Main course was hakka noodles with black mushroom and black sauce gravy...pretty decent..!!All over , a fine , peaceful restaurant ..!
I had seen this place quite a long time before and had thought of visiting it sometime. Today when we wanted to have some Chinese and planned to try it out. We were skeptical looking at the entry but finally we went in to take a chance. Inside decor is decent. I liked their wooden mats ;-)
Regarding the food we ordered the baby corn sichuan chilli for starter and it was pretty good. Then we ordered shangai rice which had Manchurian gravy base. It was well done and tasted nice. So overall our experience was amazing and we had a good time.
I also ordered their citrus zen which had amazing flavours of ginger lemon and orange.
I would definitely go again.
Fantabulous pan Asian cuisine with a lovely ambience. The restaurant uses finest ingredients to give consistent high quality food. The owners hands on touch enhances the experience.
Been here multiple times and tasted multiple dishes, yet this place has never failed to please my taste buds. Awesome food..courteous waiters..awesome ambience..not many would know of this place..but I would surely recommend it to anyone I come across. :-)
This place has a very calm ambiance and a good place to go with family. They have a very good variety of food and the service is amazing. The beverages are different in a good way
Nice ambiance n good food.. momos my fav...
1st choice for authentic Thai. Ambience is really good. Service is outstanding. Superb would still be an understatement.
Started by father- son duo.
Must be place for foodies.
Super! I can't think of one thing that was not right about it! We had the sausage fried rice, fat buddha special shaghai rice and Thai tender chicken. Awesome ambience too!
The best grilled fish with oyster sauce in town!
Also, one of the tastiest red Thai curry I have tasted.
Fat Buddha definitely offers a warm, and homely ambience.
Has to be one of my most favourite places to dinn at since Chinese is one among my favourite cuisines. The food tastes delicious, please don't miss the spicy crab meat soup . And with the starters abd main's take your pick cause nothing will actually dissapoint you. Also, love the cozy ambience and quick friendly service. Pick Fat Buddha for a quiet date or even a peacefull family dinner, you'l return home happy and a lil fat:)
Indulge:)
The ambience is really good, especially for dinner! Main course is sufficiently served, but starters are a tad too expensive. The food tastes phenomenal if you order it right!
Lemon chicken is a must have!
Parking is a pain, hope it provides valet soon.
A bit heavy on the pocket, but any such place in bangalore generally is. But I must say one of the best places I ve been to, for a quiet romantic time. Brought my special one here. Had a blast. But only wine guys, only wine.
Hard to find this restaurant on cunningham Road but must try. The owner is very friendly and attends to you whenever needed. Service wise excellent. Food is also very tasty but not the authentic Chinese. The starters and stuff are cooked more Indian way. Ambience is great. Very calm place.
Good food, great portion size and best of all, not too crowded!
I had been here when this place was called Masala House and Now Fat Buddha. Its one of a kind restaurant owing to being in the middle of a calm residential area. Good place to go for a lunch for work. Sea food is exquisite, and the crab soup has awesome reviews.
Good place to catch up with friends if you are meeting them during your work hours and a good place for office goers around Cunningham Road.
This is one of the best restaurants for Chinese.
Tom kha soup though not on the menu but the chef's recommendation is simply amazing.
The ambience is so serene and innovative. Completely satisfied with the food, ambience, hospitality and service.
Located behind a residential complex this place is difficult to locate yet I must say its has a very cozy ambiance the food was good along with service all I can say that it was better than expected.
Nice place to eat noodles'
The Mocktails are to die for. The food is great. Go here on a weekday or order in from nearby. Don't forget to try the chicken in oyster sauce and the devils sauce. The salmon starter is just epic. For the ambience you'd expect them to serve alcohol other than wine, but their choice of wine doesn't disappoint at all. Great place for a corporate or casual lunch/dinner.
One of my personal favourite :)
Have a mixed review about this place.. Some good.. some not so good experience..
Went on a Saturday night.. Wasn't too crowded surprisingly.. The place was simple and elegant..tucked away behind an apartment in a quiet corner..
Coming to the food.. We were surprised to find the drink option limited to wine and mocktails.. So ordered a Mango samurai which was one of the highlights..and Spring aso which was decent enough.. I'm a big fan of crab meat soup so ordered it without giving second thoughts :) and they definitely did justice to it.. For starters ordered Pepper fish with garlic and Crispy chicken honey..the fish tasted good unusual and new.. But the crispy chicken was a disaster.. It went downhill from there..It was so hard and cold felt my jaws screaming in pain..Dishes were mixed up.. Service became too slow.. Ordered for a burnt garlic rice with prawn.. But some veg dish was served instead.. And the reason was that they were about to close for the day!! Though the waiters were courteous it didn't suffice.. Probably we went at a wrong time.. But whatever!!
Would rate the food 4/5 (except for 1 dish)
Ambience - 5/5
Service- 3/5 ( could improve)
Value for money- 3/5 ( a bit on the expensive side)
Tried the Fat Buddha Fried Rice and Szechuan Chicken. Both were great although slightly over-priced.
This place is absolutely spectacular. We had fragrant prawns, spicy chicken soup, sichuan fried rice, shagai rice, crispy chicken honey and believe me, each and every dish was finely made. Thai red curry was also authentic. Enjoyed my dinner thoroughly. recommend this place for dinners as the ambience is closest to perfect.
I wonder why I haven't reviewed this place ..anyway better late than never. .. have been to this place a couple of times and it is certainly the kinda place tat one wants to go back to. .. whether its to catch up with friends or a silent date wit a certain someone or just a simple meal outing ...this place is perfect. ..tucked away behind an apartment a little away from the hustle of cunnigham road this place is simple and beautiful. .. the food is quite delectable. .. since I went there a long time ago I can't quite recall the dishes but boy the crabmeat soup is simply fantastic. .. its not only good for non veg but also for veg Chinese food... the service is good too... the prices are a little ok..neither very expensive nor reasonable... hope to go back soon ^_^

We went on a Saturday evening. The menu is extensive with from dishes from pan Asian, but limited to chicken, lamb and seafood. The decor is quite unique in its design & the seating areas are very comfy inside and the atmosphere was nice and quiet. The staffs are really helpful and take their time with you while you are deciding what to order. Ordered for a seafood winter melon soup and was shared by two of us. The soup was so thick you could have hung wallpaper with it. We did not order any starter. For the main course we ordered nasi goreng and we shared it again. A bad for us and a good day for the business. It’s expensive and not worth. My rating is only for the décor and the service.
You really have to pick your food here - some of them are average and the others are pretty good. Recommend the satay.
Tucked away from the hustle bustle of Cunningham Road, Fat Buddha is a quiet restaurant that serves Chinese, Thai and Pan-Asian cuisine. Visited this place for an early dinner last night and were welcomed by the warm host who seated us at our table and was prompt with menus and suggestions. Ordered the Malaysian potato and Schezuan Sliced Fish for starters and two mocktails to go with. The restaurant does not serve alcohol, however they do have a limited wine menu. The service is quick and we were served the starters within 15 minutes of ordering. The potato was crisp, spicy and extremely tasty! The fish was a hit too, but could have come with a lot less oil!
For main course we ordered vegetable Hakka noodles and chicken and mushroom in oyster sauce! The chicken was excellent and bang on in terms of flavour. The noodles were the usual and was nothing to complain of. The quantities served are pretty huge, so being completely stuffed, we had no space to try any of the desserts!
The menu is extensive and the options for both vegetarians and non-vegetarians are a plenty. Do visit this place if you are seeking good quality pan Asian, more authentic than the dime a dozen Chinese eateries all over town, yet not as expensive as the higher end restaurants! For the quantities they offer, the place is definitely value for money. Expect to pay around Rs 1500 for a fully satisfying meal for two.
Its been nearly a year ago that I visited Fat Buddha @ Cunningham Road. I must admit, its a quiet place for a meal with family / lover :P Good food quality and ambience. I felt service quality can be turned up a notch. Will be back surely. Definitely recommend this eat out.
Exceptional value and great food consistently for over two years now. Sumptuous portions and great flavour. Regular here. Affable service staff.
Whenever we cross Cunningham road i use to see this place and wanted to try it out soon... so finally on this weekend we went there for lunch. The place is nicely located with good parking place... we have booked a reservation in advance...the place is not very big n hv limited sittings (they have outside sitting too) as its inside the road its calm n very relaxing... we ordered soup , spring roll which wre delicious. the service was nice n ambiance was also soothing..nice place to have good time....
in terms of price its a bit expensive but at the end u wont mind it ....
Beautiful. Lovely food. Take your date there and have an amazing time.
Amazing food. The quality and taste of the food is really awesome. But the prices are high. We were like 10 and the bill came up to 11k. Off late the service quality seems to have gone down!
Killer food, good mocktails, nice ambience. Been there once and was impressed, going back again today.
Fat Buddha is an interesting and inviting name for a restaurant which serves a variety of pan Asian cuisine. Fat Buddha actually means happy and contented or more popularly known as the Laughing Buddha. Situated in a rather neglected area of the city in terms of restaurant and eateries, the Fat Buddha is located amidst the hustle and bustling of Cunningham road. The place attempts to serve, Chinese, Japanese, Malaysian, Thai, Indonesian and Singaporean cuisine. The amazing part is that they do manage to do quite some justice to all of them.
Ambiance:
Fat Buddha has a posh and comfy ambiance. The place looks elegant and has a soft lighting, which gives a romantic environment. The couches have colourful cushions, so you can have a relaxed meal. The restaurant is clean and well maintained. The majority of the hue used in the decor is wine red. The place is endowed with a good amount of sunlight during the day and during the night the place looks all the more beautiful and alluring.
Food:
They have a very good soup menu. We opted for the Lemon Cilantro Soup which is a clear soup with lemon grass and basil. The soup was an amazing start to our meal. The Gado Gado salad was our next course of meal which was yummy! An Indonesian prep of Caesars salad, according to me :D In the starters we had, Crispy Chicken Honey and Chicken Murtabak. The choices we made complemented each other well, since the honey chicken was slightly sweet in taste and the Murtabak was slightly spicy, deep fried. We ordered some lime soda along with our main course which was Nasi Goreng, Indonesian fried rice and Tsing Hoi Chicken which was a spicy chicken sauce tossed in bell pepper.
Courteousness:
Very kind and patient people. Attentive and quick service rendered. One of them was particularly nice to us, however I don't remember his name.
Highs and Lows:
Highs maybe the variety in multi Asian cuisine they offer, since I've very hardly come across Indonesian cuisine elsewhere in town. Located in a secluded area might be one of the lows. Apart from that, this place can definitely be given a try.
Final Verdict:***
A positive eatery and foodies who crave to try different, must definitely be here.
I recommend :)
Had been here on a lunch date sometime back. The place has quite a homely feel and food is generally good.
Writing my first review on Zomato. Yay! excited!! First things first-I liked this place. Restaurant is placed in the quieter part of Cunningham Road and also its not right there facing the road, which means a very suitable place to take your date out or to have a private conversation. I went there on a Sunday afternoon, ambience was very relaxed and soothing. Food was not amazing but still good and I particularly liked one of their Malaysian veg starter. It did not disappoint a vegetarian (read me),which is so often the case.Price is little on the higher side, but good service makes up for it. I would definitely recommend this place if you are looking for good Oriental food and a calm, relaxed place .
Neat place, the menu almost covers most of the Asian countries.
Ambience in nice with a subtle music, food was good. and if you are expecting nice food, good ambience, very well hospitality. this is the place to go.
I decided to spend the last evening of 2012 along with my family at Fat buddha, and I wasnt dissapointed. If my 2013 is as good as my last evening of 2012, I would be thrilled.
Fat Buddha is located on the non-crowded part of Cunnigham road. It can be a little difficult to spot as it is deep inside a compound. However the food there is amazing.Only thing that disappointed us was the quality of the carb, which wasnt upto the mark.Otherwise there wouldnt be too many Chinese restaurants in Bangalore which would come upto the taste benchmark of Fat Buddha. It is priced slightly on the higher side.Would definitely visit this place more ofter.
Only suggestion would be to improve a few more sea food items on their menu.
Wonderful food and loving ambience...
We headed here after a drink n nibble session at the OPUS, the wife wanted some Chinese ( Go-To-Comfort Food for her), and we hiked down to the place, reached there pretty late. had built up Quite an appetite .
The SCENE:- was a nondescript small nook behind a building, Ambience was Nice straight lines black and red. Standard stuff.
THe Drinks:- Since we had our share of drinks at OPUS we decided to side-step that.
THE GRUB:- well the Dinner was some chilly potato stuff, Steamed won-tons, schezwan rice and date pancake with ice cream. Each one was delivered quick and flavors were perfect.especially brilliant was the chilly potato. Great Taste and quick service.
THe SERVICE:- Was well quick considering we were the only people dining there at 10:45. The guys dint even try to force us out like it happens at most places during closing. They went about their business without hounding us and were accommodating enough to get their card machine back online after they had closed it for the day.
Price:- Good Value for money stuff. I think it was a shade under 900
Nice ambience, nice food , excellent service!!
Loved it
This resturent is a bit difficult to identify as its in the backyard of a building adjacent to accenture.
I went on a weekday hence sets were readily available. In total there are less than 40 seats.
Food is good. I would like to say i like crispy honey chicken snd chicken kstsu in starter,Fat buddh rice with noodle-n veg , sauteed chicken in chilli in main cource and toffee lychees , darsaan with ice cream in desert. You may try the above. Ambience seems to be ok.
nice location, cozy sit outs. the food was good. mostly tried Chinese dishes and they were pretty good. nice value for money
First of all, found out bout the place thru Zomato! (thank u Zomato)
Now getting on.. parking seemed a bit cramped up, but manageable! The ambience was wonderful, the lighting and interiors were warm and inviting. It would be best to go in the evening to appreciate the lights.
The service was wonderful and they immediately make you feel comfortable, also not having to wait long to call on a waiter(who are always on their feet.. or toes). The seating was pleasant, with decent leg room(for those who look into that kinda thing).
Started off with a soup, which was delicious and it did not lack a pinch of salt or pepper that i usually tend to add to my other soups. The starters arrived quick and were a delight as well, besides the "savour factor" - the dishes were very presentable! The main course was next, and fried rice was what i went with. And, if u decide to have fried rice, i would suggest going with a gravy dish to accompany it- unless you like the dry feel of rice! Otherwise, the rice was great to taste and really works your taste buds! The quantity was surprisingly sufficient, cuz i had to bag the rest of my incomplete meal. And the bill wasn't as heavy as i'd have expected- so there's a +.
On the whole, it was a wonderful experience.. wish i had gone in the evening for dinner, instead of lunch in afternoon.. for the sake of the lights! If u enjoy Chinese cuisine and are looking for a place that could "soothe-the-soul" - this is the place to be.
We'd been there for lunch on a weekday, being close to the workplace and were in for a pleasant surprise - especially the Thai red curry with khao phat rice were among the best I've had. Decent ambiance and friendly staff who seemed quite entertained by our adventures with the chopsticks.
Luckily, found the place without much effort. Although there is limited seats out in the open, the restaurant has a good ambiance. Since I am a vegetarian, we started with the soup. As suggested we went with the Giang Mou Tong Veg and it turned out to be one of the best soup I have had in sometime.
The starters we ordered although said Spicy were not that spicy, but they were good. I liked the Koeng's Chilli Cauliflower.
The noodles is at par with any other decent Chinese restaurant you will find in the city. My friend(who is a non vegetarian) said that Sauted Chicken in Chilli Oyester was pretty good as well.
All in all a good experience and i wouldn't mind going there again!
great place. the ambience is pleasant, there is calmness around, food is great. a must try for foodies
We pass through cunningham road everyday on our way back from work and my wife and I have always wanted to try it. So last week, midweek one day we didnt cook anything in the morning so we decided to try out fat buddha for dinner.. the place is easy to miss and is located in the rear of a commercial building..
The place is very cosily designed and has a very international feel. There are a few tables outside to dine under the sky and there is some booth type seating inside. There is even a bar area which looks good.
Anyway, coming to the food, the have a very expansive menu.. but not so expensive menu... the choice is basically of chinese and south east asian.. the attendants were helpful in choosing.. we ate a mix of south east asian food.. an indonesian salad called Gado Gado for starters (you will love it if you love the taste of peanuts) cruncy vegetables and peanuts in a sweet and sour dressing.. We had herbed malaysian fried rice which was so full of flavour, was like an oriental version of our very own Biriyani.. To go with it we had thai vegetable curry.. again brilliant.. the quantities unlike mentioned earlier are fairly generous. Only dessert was a single serving size.. The date pancake with ice-cream which we had for dessert was good.. I thought it was ok while my wife loved it..
Will be a repeat visitor to this place..,
The ambiance for dinner was just perfect to relax with family and friends to set the mood and relish the amazing food. We just wanted to taste most of the dishes which were great.
Simply love this place for their ambience nd service ...really quite nd peaceful perfect for a date , food is good and has good assortment as well !
My cousin was in town for a day, and as he likes Chinese food, we decided to visit Fat Buddha, a Pan-Asian Restaurant on Cunningham Road. My husband had good reviews for this place, and I thought I must try it too!
If you are looking for a restaurant that serves good Chinese & Thai food, away from the hustle and bustle of traffic in Bengaluru, and has good service, then this is the place for you. There is a lovely garden at the entrance which makes a great place to pose for photos (Which I did of course! LOL). If you think there is a Fat Buddha at the entrance to welcome you, then you are wrong, as you will find a cute aquarium filled with tiny fish instead.
The decor in Fat Buddha is very unique and makes you feel at home. With the plush and vibrant cushions to keep you comfy all through your meal, you may feel like dozing off after the mind blowing lunch. The waiter greeted us with a smile and the menu. First thing on our list was to order something to drink as the weather outside was HOT. I chose my favorite, Iced Tea, which tasted just sweet and right on this sweltering Sunday afternoon, while the guys ordered Pepsi. It was two against one, as they are non-vegetarians and I being vegetarian. We didn't wait a minute longer to order the starters.
Starter 1 - Chili Hot Garlic Tofu - This was the first time I was trying Tofu, and I must say it was yummy! There was just the right amount of garlic and chilly in it and not only did I gulp down one piece after the other, but so did the non-vegetarians!
Starter 2 - Chicken Winglets - The first of the two Non Veg Starters that was ordered. The plate had 6 winglets which were cooked to perfection, and the taste was delicious.
Starter 3 - Chicken Szechuan - The quantity was just right for two people who told me that it tasted scrumptious with the right amount of flavor in each piece of chicken.
Main Course:
Veg: Thai Herb Vegetables & Veg Hakka Noodles - The Thai Herb Vegetables had a tangy sauce that made me eat it by itself more, and not just with the noodles. The noodles were cooked well, and not oily like other noodles which will make you feel heavy after eating them. This is a nice combination for Vegetarians.
Non Veg: American Chopsuey, Burnt Garlic Fried Rice Mixed, Lamb in Hot Garlic Sauce, and Hunan Chicken. I am sure your mouths are watering after reading this exhaustive list. The Non Vegetarians preferred the American Chopsuey, Hunan Chicken, and Burnt Garlic Fried Rice Mixed, as each of the items had the right amount of flavor and tasted superb. I believe the Lamb in Hot Garlic Sauce was not so good as compared to the Chicken items.
Finally, a meal is not complete without dessert. After browsing the menu, I decided to order Date Pancake with Vanilla Ice Cream. Now, if you are like me, you maybe thinking the Pancake will be the size of American Pancakes. But it was not, and I must say I was rather disappointed. The taste, however, was sweet, and when you have it with the Vanilla Ice Cream, its just out of this world. Quantity wise, I would give it a 2/5, but taste wise, 5/5.
Rating:
Food: 4/5
Service: 5/5
Ambiance: 5/5
I recommend this place to anyone who is a fan of Chinese, Japanese, Malaysian, Thai, Indonesian, and Singaporean cuisine. As far as the price is concerned, it's certainly value for money, and light on your pocket too! Enjoy!
This restaurant, hidden behind apartments and spa centers, is not usually easily spotted. The place is quiet and has good ambiance. The food and drinks are great and the prices are reasonable. But the portions served are very small. So not worth the money.
Great food from several far eastern countries. Authentic taste and great ambiance. They have a few tables out in the open as well. Pricing is reasonable but portions could have been bigger.
Amazing place. One of those less discovered places. The variety of food is amazing. Great service compliments it. Must visit !
Very good food, worth the price. Reasonable portions. Chefs preparations are a cut above the standard 'Indian Chinese' fare and flavours are many more. Enjoyed our experience.

A quiet place tucked away on the busy Cunningham Road, with one of the nicest ambience surrounded by a lot of greenery. The staff were very welcoming and there was vallet parking too. A perfect place for a romantic dinner date. Their mocktail was made to perfection. I tried the Pina colada Oriental style. The Thai red curry with rice was delicious. For the starter I enjoyed the spring rolls and it's crispyness. The sweet corn soup, the mushroom and cauliflower in a variety of sauces were made well. The icing on the cake was definitely the Carmel custard and the shahi tukda 😊
Nice and quiet restaurant with good ambience. The asian cuisines were delicious. The staffs were polite. Must go and have dinner kinda restaurant.
Indeed, we went to Feast India Co. which is collocated and runs under the same management. FIC is housed in a heritage building, about 75 year old, made by some relative of then Maharaja of Mysore. The ambience and decor is worth appreciation.
We tried a few items from both FIC and FB. Both were good. Special mention goes to Lamb Galwauti Kabab and Firni, both from FIC menu.
Great ambience, home-like. Great taste. Courteous staff who help you decide what's the best to suit your taste. Great options for vegetarians. One suggestion is that they could include high chairs for kids. Could be a great weekend outing...
First of all, the place in a narrow way, little difficult to find
There's a new themed restaurant right beside fat Buddha, right opposite to it , which sevres North Indian food, ambiance is eye grabbing as it's very simple and neat.
Typical house converted to a restaurant but it's worth the visit.
Thanks for the restaurant being a little inside from the road, you'll be able to spend quality time with your loved ones as it's very quiet and peaceful.
We order awadhi roast and subz biryani that was stomach filling quantity for 2 people , laasi isn't the typical Punjabi type as I could feel it wasn't ready yet to be served. Apart from that , the washroom is neat and well maintained,
The person who took care of us , was well mannered and was always there for us.
Though the bill costed around 1k, I feel it was totally worth and value for me.
The day we went Fat Buddha was operating out of Feast India Company. We ordered only from FB menu, food is good. Staff effecient and polite. The place has an old world charm. Would definitely go back here. They do serve booze.
Good restaurant for Chinese cuisine. Recommended to taste FAT BUDDHA (veg and non veg) , noodles and schezwan fried rice. On average 1000 per 2 people.
The taste is really good. We tried Chicken Combo, Veg Combo
Good Chinese food great taste and ambiance
A repeat favourite. Setting is lovely. Food is good although with a little tweaking like less oil and a some fresh herbs/seasonings could be better.
Nice place to visit with family and friends. Very delicious food offering ..
It's a cool place for a quiet lunch. Away from all the noise of the traffic. Very pleasant ambience. The food was also good. We had the crab meat soup which was excellent. The golden fried prawns were crisp and delicious. Overall a nice dining experience. Service was also good.
Beautiful ambience. Food is Also excellent
