Excellent Naga pork dishes👌 True delicacy for a very very affordable price. The quality is great!! Smoked pork with Anishi & Chilli pork is great. But the ambience us below average. But the food is always great
The only place in Bangalore where I can get the authentic taste of Naga food... Also at a very low price compared to other Naga restaurants in Bangalore.. My friends and I visit this place regularly whenever we crave for Naga homefood... The first to do when this quarantine gets over is to directly head over to Tanang 😁 🐷🐷
The best place in Bangalore for authentic Naga food. Highly recommend their Smoked Pork with Anishi, Roast Pork with tomato and Dry Beef with a hot bowl of rice. With unique taste, its a definite must try. Their chutneys are spicy and delicious too. Price is fair for the portions.
Friendly staff. I had Chicken with bamboo shoot which was out of this world. Spicy, Ofcourse! Nice sticky rice, Smoke pork, boiled cabbage salad. The sad part was the timings in the evenings upto 9pm. Please extend at least till 11pm on all days.
Your restaurant has so much to offer to the rest of Non-Nagas! Believe me! we enjoyed the menu. Thank you for your hospitality to allow us to enjoy this beautiful cuisine of North East India.
Brilliant Naga food and very friendly staff! Do not miss their beef with Anishi and smoked pork with bamboo shoots.
P.S: It's shut on Sundays
Good for northeast people to have their meal once in a while to feel that they are not away from home. Naga thali was great which they gave with pork with bamboo shoot which is an authentic cuisine and you don’t easily find it in Bangalore. I even ordered beef thukpa which wasn’t too nice. They added too much ginger. Overall i liked the place and am surely gonna visit it again to enjoy naga thali.

Never been at the restaurant, but had the dishes so many times thanks to them delivering at NCBS every Thursday. It has now become mandatory for us to go to NCBS every week and indulge in these delicious dishes. I have tried many here, but my personal favourite remains roasted pork with tomato, and chilli pork, and the spicy hot dry beef! I would recommend the smoked pork too. Their cooking is excellent to say the least. And most of all, it is definitely pocket friendly. This is truly a hidden gem in Bangalore for those who want to taste authentic good Naga cuisine.
P. S. : Visiting today again!
This a small Naga Joint run by a very warm and hospitable lady. I have tried the Bamboo Shoot Pork and the Akhuni Pork Meals, the Pork Noodles and the Pork Chilly. The Bamboo shoot and Akhuni is top notch, and the Pork Chilly is amazing as well. The noodles is not that great, but well who eats noodles here? Just go for the naga food items and you won't regret it.
Good food. Nice Northeastern healthy food. The behavior of the aunty is also very good. The chilly pork in amazing. The other pork dishes like bamboo shoot pork is also good. It was overall an amazing experience to be there.
This is definitely not a review about the restaurant, but just the food. (I have no clue about the restaurant). The lady and her accompanies come every Thursday to NCBS and you can say I am almost a regular customer. The aroma of the gravy dishes are just salivating. My favourite dishes being smoked pork with anishi, dry beef, fresh pork with bamboo shoots, fresh beef with tomato and smoked beef with bamboo shoots. Other than that, dry fish with axone is finding it's way in my palate now. This was the first cuisine with which I tried beef and I am simply in love with nagaland food now.
The people who are in the business are very nice and warm. I liked them. Keep it up guys.
I have never been to the Hennur outlet of Tanang Naga, but have sample their fares via delivery. They serve Naga cuisine and the one word that best describes my experience would be - Unique......Unique ingredient come together in an unique cooking style. Pork momo, chilly pork and roast pork are my personal favorites. You can also explore authentic naga items like smoked pork based gravies. The food is also reasonably priced and portion sizes are balanced. If you are looking to try something new and completely off-grid....Tanang Naga could be that option.
Really cheap, but good food. Beef Sheptra, Pork Noodles, Pork momos are a must try at this place. It's a small place and does not have good ambience. So I would recommend you take away you order and have it at the comfort of you home.
Small joint located near Kristu Jayanti college known for its Naga cuisine. Very polite staff and management who agreed to deliver the food home even though their delivery boy wasn't available.
Tried the traditional Naga momos both pork and chicken which were brilliant. Very big, juicy, meaty and hence tasty. The veg noodles were soya sauce influenced and a little salty but good enough.
The smoked pork curry with Akuni (which I am reliably informed is a soy based gravy) was good but very different to my palate and hence I cannot rave about it. Will take me a few more meals to get used to it. Overall a pretty good experience though.
Cheers,
Recently moved from Gurgaon to Bangalore and my first and only concern was the availability of good food. Before moving itself I looked for popular places around the area I was going to live in and Tanang Naga Restaurant was one of them. In fact the first day itself I ordered from here. The person who took the call was an elderly lady. I don’t think they have home delivery but she said since my son is around ill send it.
Our order:
-Pork Chilly
- Steamed Pork momos
- Beef with anishi
- Pork Noodles
The momo’s were ok. I think they were veg momos coz I could barely taste any pork.
The Pork chilly was awesome. Very few places get the cooking time of red meat correct – this place had it nailed. Succulent pork meat with gooey yummy pork fat – orgasmic.
The beef was slightly chewy – but the flavors were really nice. Wish they would work on tenderizing the meat a bit more. Loved the pork noodles as well.
Overall we loved the food, will order again soon. More than the food, the service from both the lady at the restaurant and the son who delivered the food is worth a mention. Good job you guys !
I guess you lads camp at NCBS on certain Thursdays. Well, you guys are simply amazing!!!
Pork with fresh bamboo shot
Smoked beef with anishe
Roasted pork with tomato
Pork chilly
You prepared these and they touched my heart. These go so well with plain rice and we could go on having more and more. Everything tastes utterly brilliant and spicy and then having a lingering aftertaste.
Sad that people don't know much about this place. Location wise I guess not convenient. You guys have to do something to come up to the main city if you can.
A potential to be a really good Naga restaurant in Bangalore.
Love you amazing, extremely hospitable and so decent guys.
Finding this place is a bit of a pain because their signboard has faded! Just remember if you reached the college, you've gone too far. Turn around and you'll find it at the S shaped curve. Once you find it, definitely try the Smoked Pork thali with Anishi. It's lovely. The smoked beef is excellent too. The place is quite small but the food is very good.
Amazing food here. The smoked pork and the smoked beef curries are to die for. The chutneys are spicy but awesome. Have kept going back there taking more friends there and everyone has loved the simple, homely but delicious food. Very accommodative owners - I give them a heads up and order early so they keep everything ready!
Good Place.. You will feel like home.. I am almost a regular visitor now..Rates are pretty decent.. Food is delicious.. Must try - Pork with Bamboo shoot and Roasted pork with tomato.. Would highly recommend to pork lovers..
P.S: Don't go by the Google map, i had a tough time to find the place.. but that was worth :)
Tanang is a restaurant managed by a Naga Family...You will feel at home...There is an elderly women there who is very caring...Try the Naga Meal..You have a choice of Axone (soyabean boiled, fermented and either smoked or sun dried) with smoked pork or Anishi( fermented taro leaves made into patties and smoked over the fire or sun dried ) with smoked pork. The chutney (Tathu) served with the meal is very spicy...The portion of rice in the meal is large...Very sufficient. For authentic Naga cuisine this place is recommended.
If you are a Naga food enthusiast this place is a must visit one. They serve a variety of Naga dishes which will make you drool. Ambience of the place is not as posh as a fancy restaurant but the food is great and the service is good. Their beef and pork dishes would be the preferred menu items over chicken. If you are not a person of pungent flavours I would recommend you start with dry port and beef menu items. As drinks they won’t offer much other than the usual carbonated stuff.
Good place to try Naga/North eastern style delicacies. We ordered pork fried rice and pork chilli, both dishes suited our taste buds and the quantity was adequate for two people. However, the dine in experience may not be great for you if you are looking for good atmosphere.
The food here is amazing, my go to is the Naga meals, Anisha or Axone. We also get the beef Shrapta on the side 😋. Along is friendly and Aunty is a dear.
It's been 6 years since I smelt, touched or ate naga cuisine. Went with so much hesitation and packed smoked pork with axone, fresh pork with dry bamboo shoot and chutneys. Trust me, it's awesome!!!! The flavors top notch and everything up to the mark. For the person doing this alone, hats off to you. You are gem for all those northeasterns in Hennur and surrounding areas who miss their homeland delicacies.
Authentic Naga dishes. Simple yet so many flavors; cooked with utmost attention. I love all the dishes, very decently priced. A basic and clean dining area. Along is a cheerful host. It's a shame that I never knew this hidden gem existed untill a few months ago.
(Note- these are authentic cuisine they serve with no artificial spices, don't go if you like your food too spicy.)
If they could improve the Atmosphere..it would be the best ..else it's so small n the place is alittle old n serving is a little slow ...other then that the food is fantastic.
It was mouth watering experience nearly I had eat two bowl of rice with both smoke and unsmoke,it makes feels us as we ate at our home town, those who were at near by please do visit and experience different items
Good food and very reasonably priced. Little difficult to locate as the writing says "Mom's Kitchen ". Very simple joint managed by an elderly lady. Food is good and spicy.
Small, run down place, with amazing pork dishes (pork is what I tried, so I know). Wonderful service, and I assume they cook the food on order (coz it took some time).
If you are used to North or South Indian spiciness, be prepared for some blandness because that's how the cuisine is. But personally, I found it just yummmmmm
