Came here to try just the jamun 😍 it was really lip smacking. Definitely one of the best I’ve had in Bangalore.

Known for its sweets since ages...They have made a name and is standing by it, jamun is a must try there and all the sweets are worth trying. They have added chats and newly northindian and Chinese dishes too in their menu... Do try the authentic Bhagathram sweets(^^)

Samosa and gulab jamun that I’ve been eating here since 1995. 5/5 or 10/10. Amazing stuff these two. Garam garam (hot) though. Been too long since I’ve been there now, will update this review after sampling these two things again.

Bhagatram Sweets is an old shop and restaurant selling amazing Gulab Jamuns and more. I was in Commercial Street with my family for some shopping and as we felt the need to have something in between to recharge ourselves for the rest of the shopping, we spotted this shop and went there. It was an amazing experience to dine.
FOOD, TASTE, AND QUALITY:
As I entered the shop and read the menu, I saw Sindhi Veg biryani and so being a biryani lover, I asked for it. However, they told that it was finished by that time which was a disappointment because it was just about 7 in the evening.
We ordered Pav Bhaji, Chole Bhature, and Gulab Jamun. Chole Bhature were quire good and were like homemade. Probably, not among the best in the town but quite a homely stuff so not bad.
Pav Bhaji was not good in taste. It lacked a few essential spices and the aroma. The flavour didn't come out well.
Gulab Jamuns were the best, undoubtedly! It was so yummy and flavourful. I just loved it and couldn't resist to have another plate.
Badam Milk was not good as it was too sweet which is not how it's supposed to be.
Filter Coffee was as usual, good.
Overall, it was a nice experience and this restaurant can be visited for its finger-licking Gulab Jamuns along with some snacks and coffee.
SERVICE AND AMBIENCE:
It's a self service place so nothing to mention about the service. Ambience was just below average and the seatings were very basic. However, it justifies the cost so no complaints.
Had been told to try Gulab Jamuns from here and ordered them for my Dad's birthday and boy was I surprised. The best GJs I've had in BLR...nice, tender and soft and just the right amount of sugar. I am still high 😀🤗😎
Like Gulab jamun and jalebi? Then bhagatram is a place that you must go to. Apart from that, you get chaats, mixtures and a variety of different sweets.
One of the oldies of Bangalore. I always go to this shop.for their Gulan Jamoons. Certainly worth a try. Their other sweets are good as well.
I've been visiting them from the 1990's when they were a hole-in-the-wall store. The jamoon is a must must try and will surely be one of the best you have had. They also have other sweets and savouries. The owners usually sit at the billing counter and welcome you with a smile.

Menu full of chaats gives you various options to choose from. I decided to have Kachori Chaat, Papdi Chaat and Bhej Puri followed by Gulab Jamun and Malai Jamun.
All the three chaats were okayish. My north indian taste buds were missing something in those chaats. The signature spicy tangy stuff in chaat was missing. Basic Pudina chutney would have done wonders to it.
Now comes Gulab Jamuns...best ever had in Bangalore. Those jamuns were served pipping hot and were so fragile and soft with perfect sweetness. It just melted in my mouth. Same was with Malai Jamun which is Gulab Jamun topped with rabri.
Chaats were a bit dissapoiintment but it is must visit place for Gulab jamuns
One of the best sweet outlets in Bangalore. Always wait every year to buy the Gheear sweet during the Holi festival. Should only go to parcel the mithais. Very bad to very stand there for a long time. Cleanliness takes a very bad beating.
This place used to be super popular for its gulab jamoons. They had a narrow alleyway kind of outlet which used to always be crowded. They shifted to a more spacious shop area on Commercial Street itself few years back and have branched out into lot of eats other than sweets. And I think the overall quality has come form from what they used to be. The gulab jamoons are still nice however not as great as before.
Well what can I write here in the review, just head there and experience the taste of the sweets they make, Jamun is the king 👑 there ❤. You have a lot of chats and fast food options available which are average when it comes to taste. Cleanliness is something to worry about at times 😅 but who cares the sweets are lip smacking
I was born and raised in Bangalore. My father used to take my brother and I to Bhagatram as kids. There used to be the shop and the hot jamoons being made in an alley way adjacent to the shop with the big oil pan on ground level. The taste is just nostalgic. I have relocated to the USA but always go back during my vacations for their "long gulab-jamoon" as we call it in my household.

I'm currently wondering why it took me so long to review THIS place!! Bhagatram sweets has been my 'sweet spot'(pun intended) in fair weather and foul since I-can't-even-remember-when! This is one of those legendary places that you should try when u r in Bangalore. But I must also warn you that as outstanding as this place is, it is not very easily noticeable(irony). So for those who are waiting to try this place- it is in the first floor of the building opposite anand sweets in commercial Street.
My personal favourite from here would undoubtedly be the hot hot gulab jamuns!! They are soooo good that my mouth waters everytime I even think about it. They are served hot with a lavish amount of sugar syrup and it literally just melts in your mouth! I can have them all day everyday if I could!
Apart from jamuns they also have a wide variety of Indian sweets as well as tasty chaats. I have tried almost all the sweets from here and a few chaats but nothing can beat my love for the jamuns!
Bhagatram is definitely one of the best things about Bangalore!! I go there so very often that I kinda think they consider me family now. Its truly indian, lip smackingly good and does not burn a hole in your pocket! I hope you all meet and eat the love of my life, the gulab jamuns when you visit this place!

Just the best Gulab Jamuns in Bangalore. Served hot from the pan. Jelebi's are great too. This is a really old shop on Commercial Street and it's really dirty and not great for a family to come in and sit down but if you're on Commercial street and need to kill a sweet tooth craving then stop by here
Just the best tasting sweets
This place is legendary. It was there since my mom was in college. Every time I go to commercials, bhagatram is a compulsory stop for me. I crave for the hot jamoons they serve here. The cholo batura and some of their chaats are very good too.....maybe they could work on their ambience and hygiene a bit more but for the taste a 4/5.
A tiny place famous for their sweet stuffs. You will get good quality sweets at a nominal price. Apart from that you can try their chats. Dine in may not be very comfortable you can opt for takeaways.

Bhagatram is one of the legendary places in Bengaluru and I have been enjoying some of their delicacies since childhood. The Quality has gone down over the past few years but their hot Gulab jamoons remain to be extremely delectable and one of the best! Chats, badam milk and other savouries are good as well ! It is located on the commercial Street and not very difficult to find ! Highly recommended for their melt-in-the-mouth gulab jamoons.
The best gulab jamuns are served right here in this restaurant. Just visit the place to have hot jamuns which is out of the world. I have to admit that this place could be better off with hygiene matter but nonetheless he's famous for sweets. He does have some chat offerings but please give that a miss. His core competence is with sweets and that he delivers it perfectly.
Very friendly service in this slice of "old Bangalore"....they have the absolute BEST hot gulab jamuns in the city for such a small price. The owner is a really sweet guy too (no pun intended) and will help you pick out a nice box of assorted sweets to go.
# 1 place for Gulab Jamun in Bangalore and it's the same for last 15 years I guess and hasn't changed. It's always crowed and service is ok. Once I did have small argument with one another f the waiters as he was rude. I also like the chats , they are very tasty and cost effective.

We went here for dinner as we were shopping at Commercial Street. The quality of the good is average. Not great as it was before. The Bhatura had oil in excess. The Channa was good though.

The only thing you must eat here is the legendary gulab jamuns. The jamuns are fantastic.
It's little too much sweet but it just melts in your mouth. Thus the hot and the orange jamuns are heavenly!

My trips to Commercial Street are incomplete without a pit stop at Bhagatrams. Their Gulab jamuns are so awesome...especially when warm. Haven't tasted jamuns like that anywhere else. I don't think they deserve the low rating they currently seem to have. The chaats may not be phenomenal but are definitely decent.
The dilapidated look of the place could be improved upon, though.

I have been tasting from this sweet mart for the last 15 years, since the time they operated from what looked like a passage way. Chandrakala and Jamoons from here is my all time favourite. Over the years they have added many more sweets and snacks and all of them live up to our expectation. Value for money : 4/5, Taste : 4/5 , Ambiance: 2/5 , Service : 2.5/5.
I've rated y'all so high only because the Jamoons yawl serve are the best I've ever had. It just melts in your mouth. I've feasted on them since I was a kid and I've had a store right beside yawl on commercial street. The Jamoons have never lost their taste and have been something I always crave for.
I don't know why the rating is so low for this shop. It may not be wrapped with a bow.. But the sweets here are made fresh everyday and they taste very good. The jamun here can be found no where else in Bangalore and even the khowa.. I don't know much about the chats. But I think they deserve a fair rating.
I am giving this place a 4.5/5 ONLY and ONLY for their Gulab Jamoon. They are simply delicious!

The best gulab jamoons in town, especially eating it hot is awesome. The badam halwa is good too , not too sweetish as u get in other sweet shops. The place needs to be kept a little clean.
Com St, has its own Gulab Jamoon Heaven at Bhagatrams! Love the jalebis here too! But but but this place is not as clean as I would like it to be which is a huge set back.. That said i do cheat on my hygiene rules at times because their jamoons are so darn good!

This place has been there for ages and have been visiting since i was a kid. It was not in the same place as it is now on the commercial street but it was just a few metres away inside a pathway and leading to a shop with a garage like look, the current shop is much better and is quite visible from outside. The must have and the main reason that we used to visit this place is the Gulab Jamuns - simple incredible and tasty , probably the best in bangalore. With time, many other chat items have been added to the menu but if one is visiting this place - Gulab Jamuns is a must have. All the food served is very fresh and one can easily find the freshness while eating.
Chat items are also good and so are the jalebi's. Highly recommended !!

"Bhagatram",an age old shop located on Commercial Street,given that there is a dearth of sweet shops in and around Comm.Street(with the exception of Anand Sweets that according to me has become highly overpriced).Infact food in Commercial Street is quite limited I would say.
Located a little after Anand Sweets on the other side of the road,it should't be very hard to find when you happened to stroll down the road.A small place,they have a small seating area as well.
You will be greeted with fresh hot jalebis,the most tantalizing sweet smell and it's a foodies paradise,especially if you are one with a sweet tooth.They also serve Thalis and Parathas,but I think they are most famous for their sweet delicacies.
I have always had a craving for gulab jamuns on my visit to Commercial Street and the first place I think of is here at Bhagatram,a longer version as compared to the ordinary round ball coated with sweet sugar syrup.
Hygiene could be an issue for many,as it doesn't look as hygienic as many sweet shops,but once you devour a few jamuns,you'll forget about everything else.
So according to me this is a must try when you are out shopping in Commercial Street:Please please try the jamun here.
The staff here are really friendly as well and it is decently priced.
Have eaten gulab Jamoon here from the last 20 years. It is the best. Used to be 2 Rs for one , now the prices have gone up big time. But the taste has remained.
Don't like the ambience as its not maintained well. It's on a high street the owners should care about the overall experience.

Another bangalore legend ticked off by me this weekend. After some shopping on comm street me and my friend landed up here to have a go at their most famous offerings, jalebi and jamoon.
Foe Ppl crazy about junk food, fried stuff,sweets this is the go-to place!! The wide variety of snacks on offer is hard to resist no matter how strict a diet you are on. Apart from a plate each of jamoon and jalebi we got a papdi chaat and kachori chaat. Both the chaat items had this hot masala peas base which was pretty mild and dint overpower the other flavors in the dishes. On the whole the chaats were pretty mediocre but the quantity given for the price is definitely value for money!
The hype around the jamoon is justified to the very last bite of it. The best jamoon I have had in the city so far. Would have liked it a Lil hotter, but no complaints wrt the soft, melt in your mouth texture. The jalebis were also not hot as they had been fried sometime back which is the reason I think which made them a Lil extra crunchy type. Not a big jalebi fan but I liked the ones at Calcutta Victoria chat house!
Would love to be back to taste some of their sweets and savories at leisure :)
