This place is close to 80years old.
Their idly chutney are must try
This place is worth the try and money. Places like these which aren’t hyped are really hard to find in Bangalore.
Another hidden gem of Old Bangalore Days..
Approx 80 yrs old coffee n snacks point.Old Vibes
Located opp back gate of KR mkt..this place serves quick snacks and filter coffee too..all the items are worth try.
Authentic taste.
I had been to Raghavendra Coffee Club about a few years ago, and after a long time, made a visit and tasted Idly sambar, vada, chow chow bath, poori and coffee..
Idly is simply soft with butter served with perfectly blended watery sambar, Vada is crunchy, rice bath is homely in taste, poori is just awesome and Kesri bath before coffee ,was soo yummy and lastly the coffee was soo aromatic and perfectly brewed.
This hotel has old fans, cash table is pretty old, filter coffee brewing vessel was brass made..
This hotel is now 80 years young, in couple of decades it will celebrate its centenary.. Haha. Do give a visit after your busy shopping at Chickpet and while you head towards the chickpete metro station.
Just come out of chikpete metro stop, ask for hotel Raghavendra, any kid can guide you for the location, just 2 min from chikpete metro station. Serves typical south Indian dishes, always crowded but quick service. I tried almost all dishes except few, must try bonda soup, idly wada, masaladosa, pineapple Jessie bath. Worth visit.
I have heard since my school days.. KR market branch which is famous since decades for quick bites and filter coffee. Bonda soup, Idlies, Dosa, filter coffee are famous here
They serve variety of authentic South Indian food like, puliogere, banging bath all the rice items and meals will recommend everyone to try out their meals and the also give mixture on side at extra cost and their pakodassss are so amazing. The place is held up at a very busy surrounding. When u are at kr market or around Chickpet for shopping you can visit this place and it is a very old restaurant too.
One of the best places to try for some amazing Idli and Chutney. I think that's what they are known here for, I saw many of the folks here ordering them. Their chutney seems very flavourful and is creamy (also runny, but tasty). It has a very different flavour unlike the regular places you would try. Definitely try their Idli + Chutney. I also wanted to rule out Sambar's taste so I tried that as well. It's good, nothing too special so I'd recommend stick to chutney and get a small cup of sambar instead just to taste it. They also serve lovely coffee, it tastes like Coffee Bite and is quite good. They do have many other items to try, but may be next time.
Seems a 50+ year old place so you cannot expect tidiness, although still it's quite maintained. Interiors give you a good feeling about Chickpete and Bengaluru. The old interiors is what gives it an edge.
No digital payments, cash only, and no receipt. 😁
More on my next visit.
We went to this place with our German colleagues looking at the restaurant board and the type of shop. This is one of the old authentic small restaurant near to KR Market, close to Chickpete metro station. Food is very authentic, not exotic. Coffee is the best. We drank two times after liking it the most. Idli was very nice, Kharabath was very tasty, Pooris were average and chutney was bit watery, could have been better. But we loved the place. Nov 2023.
Small and old hotel with good options. Prices slightly on the higer side. However the locals are so fond of this eatery and could see they have a good relationship with the owner. Its self service and has around 10 small tables. We tried their veg rice, Idly Vada and coffee. Rice quantity was very less. Overall you can try once just to feel the experience of the old eatery.
Old Vibes of Bangalore from this hotle, must try the South Indian items from their menu!
My all time favourite for idly & their watery chutney - I have been savouring these for almost 3 decades now
Nothing else on their menu has impressed me & the cashier is not a very friendly person - just does his thing
One of the oldest restaurant in Bangalore it's situated in KR Market area it's always busy nice taste special for poori, idli, chow chow bath, coffee, mixer.
One for the old Bangalore coffee map.
Old establishment in the middle of the buzz and business of Market area.
Clean and efficient service (only self-service)
Coffee here is beyond any club class.
Sri Raghavendra Prasanna Coffee Club is located just outside the KR Market. It provides all types of Breakfast food items. The food items are very tasty and reminds about the traditional flavors. The hotel doesnt have any high cost ambience. Although the items are little overpriced, but its almost worth the cost. It provides Idli-Vada, Upma, Poori, BisiBele Baath, Chow-Chow Bath, Tea and Coffee and few other items.
It's the oldest coffee shop in Bangalore. You literally have to fight to get your order. A coffee is ₹12.
Amidst all the slush, slurry and filth outside kr market is this surprisingly spick and span ,old old Bangalore restaurant
Serves almost everything dunked in watery chutney very similar to brahmins coffee bar
Menu had pongal, chow chow, idly vada, poori, rice bath, coffee..
Waiters happen to be very courteous, take time, suggest, and even asked how I liked the food ,😄
Never received that kinda treatment in any similar restaurant
The idly comes with a generous dollop of butter with an extra charge
Furniture comprised of cute tiny chairs or stone slabs for seating
I wouldn't say the food was something extraordinary, but I did like the experience in this iconic place
Popularly known as market hotel this is very old joint. I have been going here for last 50 years.
Most famous for its idli chutney. The chutney is almost like buttermilk but extremely flavour ful and tasty. Free flow supply. People who are used to this hotel soak the idli in chutney after breaking the idli in to small pieces and then relish it.
Sambar is also different but tasty.
Another popular item is Puri Sagu and chutney.
Till few years back there was service on the table but now it is self service.
With many hygienic darshinis cropping up in Bangalore, the new generation do not much frequent this restaurant. yet it has dedicated clientale from the old generation who have been visiting this place for many many years regularly.
Parking is a problem so one should park the vehicle in the nearby metro parking on arcot shrinivasacharya road. From here it is only 300 metres.
Raghvendra situated on back side of city market is gem place for all South Indian food lovers! I came to know recently about this place ! Got a chance to try IDLI, VADE and BONDA SOUP ! IDLIS WERE SOO SOFT THAT IT JUST MELTED IN THE MOUTH ! Have heard that even puri sagu is also good over here ! As i was full would definitely try it next time. ONLY 2 WHEELER PARKING AVAILABLE
Good old coffee stall and traditional taste. I got mini coffee for 10 rupees. Traditional evening eat items also available. Poori idly padhami always etc etc.
Raghavendra Coffe club carries the legacy of its main branch at City market, same taste of idli sambar thin, watery and tasty.
