Regularly order south indian breakfast from here and never disappointed with their food contents, packaging or taste.
The best are the delicious idlis and vada. Ofcourse the dosa is never too far. Didn't like the upma that much though.
This is a decent place where you get very good idly and dose!
Their coffee is also too good!
Very reasonable place and good food 😊 what else one need 😃
One must try idly and set dose and coffee 😊
Nice place to have breakfast, dosa varieties are good , cost effective
Quick bite for breakfast worth trying
Ambience I would give it as ok cos it is on the main road added to the traffic
Pongal is the dish which differentiates this hotel from other darshinis and udupi restaurants. Rest all dishes are good just like other south indian typical restaurants in Bangalore. The Pongal here is made in ghee with black peppers and is thick in consistency which resembles the original Madurai Pongal. In other restaurants except A2B you find Pongal not that thick and wattery made without ghee and more like dal rice. The Pongal here is oozing with ghee, thick like khara bhath and tasty. It gets sold out in morning. Accompany with Vade and your set for a good eat. Rest all things typical darshani style, needs no description. Hygiene is okay. Never fell ill eating here. Rating 2.5 for this hotel and an extra 1 pointer only for the Pongal. Quick on the move breakfast type of hotel.
Pretty old name in that area.A small south indian food joint.Tried their dosa .Was well prepared.crispier on outer side with good masala inside.Sambhar was up to mark.A quick bite and move on kind of place.
An age old hotel renovated now and seemed like better than before. Would always recommend for quick south-indian breakfast. Reasonable price.
A good option from a long time for people residing around this area.
It has also become a landmark due to its location.
The taste and the quality were good while the service was slow.
They adhere to their timings strictly and are not flexible to extend a bit.

Bengaluru is famous for the small Darshinis which serve delicious South Indian and North Indian food. One such small Darshini is 'Udupi Gokul Cafe' located in BTM Layout 2nd stage.
We had been very frequent to this place when we used to stay at BTM Layout. This week while visiting BTM Layout for some work, we made it a point to have breakfast at Gokul Udupi Cafe. Old memories filled our hearts while we enjoyed the delicious food.

LOCATION & AMBIANCE : It is located very near to Jayadeva Circle. The place is relatively small. When it started few years back, it only had standing tables where people used to take some quick bite and enjoy it while on the go. Later they acquired adjacent shops and have a small seating area also. There is enough parking space in the adjacent lanes. Overall they are very particular of cleanliness. Tables and serving counters are kept clean. On one side there is a handwash and drinking water arrangement.
WHAT THEHEEBEE TRIED :
This place is very popular for South Indian and North Indian Food. Indianized-Chinese and another variety which many people like here. We have also tried their South Indian and North Indian meal. But this time we restricted ourselves to a mouth watering breakfast treat.
Idli Sambar : Fluffy soft hot idlis served with delicious Udupi Sambar and coconut chutney. You will love it.
Vada Sambar : Crispy and delicious vada served with relishing Udupi Sambar and coconut chutney. Texture of vada was to die for.
Masala Dosa : Perfect dosa. Perfectly roasted, balanced red chutney and tangy masala inside.
SERVICE : This is NA as it is more of a 'self-service' place.
Food for two will cost around 200-250 INR.

Another point for good south Indian food as well as Chinese food
I loved onion uttpam there
U should visit someday and have a dosa or uttpam
This is a good vegetarian south Indian joint which is affordable. Their ghee rice combo and paneer fried rice is just superb. I've eaten there almost ten times. It is very near to bus stop so it is easy to pick some good veg food once I return from office. Service is very good they deliver food very quickly.
Another joint which serves south indian north indian n chinese food in BTM. Good place to have snack lunch dinner n tht too at affordable price. The place is often crowded.
My fav north meal, Roti curry, gobi manchurian n rava idili.

This is one of the nearest restaurant near to our office. I cal it Gokul International. You can find all south & north Indian dishes here. Since it is located at the heart of BTM always crowded. You won't believe Saturday & Sunday you can find massive crowd.
Taste wise and cost wise it's too good. The Sosa, idly, gobhi Manchurian, Roti curri, Channa bhatura are the best among all.what they have in menu. They have another counter for juice and chat. The chat counter is good but the juice counter some cleanliness is required.
Looking for an affordable south Indian and north Indian food???
Well, if you're in BTM GOKUL is the answer for you.
I usually take away food from here as it is close to my place. Located in BTM near jayadeva flyover, this small outlet is jampacked every time. Affordable prices and good quantity and quality may be the reason suppose. So I've tried their masala dosas, vada sambhar, Manchurian, fried rice, paneer butter masala, noodles, baby corn Manchurian.
So as far as south Indian dishes are concerned, no doubt its pretty good in taste, hygiene and authentic.
For their Chinese, I would suggest them to use a lil less garlic. Their Manchurian is too much on garlic side sometimes which acutally kills its taste. Noodles are pretty good too which I dint expect from a south Indian joint.
Oh do try their paneer butter masala, it is yummmmm.
Also they give complimentary daal, which I was unable to understand but that's good.
Other than that, fast service and good coordination is what keeps GOKUL prepare and deliver the order on time for their customers.
If you wake up in the morning feeling distraught, this is the place for some simple, feel good food. It would have been a five if it would have had seating arrangement.
It's a self service restaurant with tables to hold your plate. The hygiene of the place is great as such outlets tend to be very dirty. The set dosa is a delight here. They tend to make it slightly oily, but once I told them to add less oil and it seemed heavenly. The sagu (vegetable preparation) they serve with it is very wholesome and light. This is like the ideal breakfast for me. Their onion uttapam is also very good. Their Badam milk is some Badam masala mixed with sweet milk. This is also really good. Their mysore pak portion might seem small but the taste is extremely rich. The combination of ghee and batter is perfect. The prices are very reasonable.
Overall, this has become my regular breakfast place.
Decent south Indian fare that's not overly expensive. One of those darshinis that you hop into for a quick snack. A minutes distance or two from the bus stop near the jayadeva flyover (silk board side)

Actually a pretty decent south Indian fast-food joint. Have been here mostly for breakfast when in a hurry or on weekends when I want a change from breakfast at home. The idly/vada combos are not special, but not bad either. Dosas are good, and puri too.
This place is actually a typical one of the best South Indian fast food outlet... Quite famous between office people for quick bite..
Type of food : South Indian, crisp dosa and famous Alu puri and other typical South Indian dishes
Ambience : outlet, mostly you will have to stand and eat
Pricing : very cheap
Taste : very nice..
Nice food at reasonable rates. Best for breakfast, snacks or light lunch. Mind the other customers as well as its a small place and chances are fairly high that you may bump onto them. I like theDosa and Pongal of this joint. Tea is not great and better to avoid. You may visit different and famous Tea outlet in the 2nd stage (BTM) for Tea.
I visit this hotel on an everyday basis. Quite good. Taste never changes, almost.
I order hot n sour soup daily here. Sometimes the soup gets less think, more watery.
And they put all vegetables in the soup raw. Guess they need to boil it first.
It's a ultra busy food joint right on the bus stop. Just opposite the Yes Bank ATM and near the Temple of Mico Layout.
Veg food, but too good and must try. Especially the matar paneer. Out of this world! AND the kadhai mushroom! And the scezwan rice! And the chole bature!
Yes I've been tasting their food a lot of times and will continue doing so. The Matar Paneer is a comfort food for me, if you ask. They also make excellent chat, especially bhelpuri. and the pricing is too pocket friendly. Juice counter isn't that great, though.
They should make the sitting area a broader one, but that does not hamper their business a lot right now, so don't know if it will come up anytime soon.
Must. Try. Period.
