I am visiting this place regularly since long may be since 13 yrs. I found this restaurant under rated here. Place is decent with good food also drink facility and can have a drink while having dinner with family.
One of the few places in Malleshwaram which serves non vegetarian food. Located along the 8th Cross road, this place is easily accessible and visible. They have a bar on the ground floor and family restaurant on the first floor.
They have a good menu and food is good as well. Priced economically, this is good place for a group. However, service can be a bit improved with respect to the wait time.
The ambience is decent and off late have seen less number of people going here.
Definitely this place can do wonder considering its location. Worth a visit.
When last time I visited Bangalore one of my friend took me here. The place is good. Be it their ambience or food quality. When you will feel sick after eating veg for long this place is a life saver. Affordable and good. And drinks are also cheap. Highly recommended.
Quite a decent restaurant with friendly staff. Must try chicken 65! It is near my house and if nothing works out, I go for Viking ! Quite a simple and decent menu.
The low ratings for this place surprise me considering how unpretentious this place is. Not to mention how much value for money it offers. Whether you're a vegetarian or a non-vegetarian, Viking has an exhaustive menu. My personal favorites are the kalmi kabab, chicken 65, garlic chicken, egg fried rice, and egg biriyani.
As someone else also pointed out, this is a great place to bring your mates over for drinks. The service can vary on days but is decent by and large, the ambience is reasonable, the food is tasty, and the price is reasonable. Oh, and they have a prompt home delivery service!
For the price and value on offer, I have no complaints!! It's been my reliable choice for years.
This is for the rainy day. You do not have much money to splurge in the fancy bars in town but still want to eat good food and down yourself in alcohol. Don't look further. I guess Viking is definitely one of the easiest on pocket bars in this part of Bangalore. As you enter, you find yourself transported to the eighties' decade with dim lighting, tv screens beaming sport shows and middle aged men sipping on beer and discussing local politics. Perfect. We ordered four brandy (Mansion House) with hot water and mutton sukka and egg biryani for two. Biryani was delicately flavoured and the rice was cooked near perfect. Mutton sukka tasted delicious with all the spices but the mutton could have been tender. Service was prompt and pleasant. The cheque further increased our happiness. 700 for two. Smirnoff small is priced at Rs. 80/-. Go figure :)
The moment you enter the hotel you are greeted with an ambience of dull lighting and some mild music.Pretty shady to say the least. Coming to the food, actually whenever I have taken a parcel from here the food has actually been pretty good.Personally I would recommend the alu gobhi, paneer butter masala and the chef speciality paneer kulchan.
A word of advice to the management would be to slightly tone down the prices.
Service and food quality has gone down south in the last few years.. I still relish the bindi fry but didn't find the same simple taste over the years..
Their food is exceptional...but their service is utter crap.... I've waited for 15 mins before the waiter even acknowledged my existence and came with the menu card. Ambience is decent...better to take home delivery than put up with their lousy service
I see lot of negative comments. I believe one cant compare all the restaurants on a common platform. That being said, For maleshwaram this place is pretty good. There are hardly any eatries near by . This place might have staff shortage some times. And if u happen to visit there at that time then you might end up waiting long and cranky (tats wat she said). And im saying because i have been visiting the place for past 8 years and seen every kind of changes, from management to new kitchen. Ambience wise on a weekend its quite busy with almost all seats filled up. its perfectly in the middle, not too bright not to pubby :p . Food wise i like the kabab tiranga special. The kababs might have dissapointed me ones or twice in my 30 or more visits. Curry menu is nothing fancy but worth if taking it boneless.
And service wise like i said many changes. So fairly good, hey who cares when you are not paying a fortune for a night at orion or mantri :p
My default dinner option during weekdays. Good food plus the fact that they take orders till around 11.
The new renovated viking is definitely a fresh vibe. The food was always good.
This place is so less with people. Green salad is the best side to have it with drinks, beer with extremely chilled ones.
Retro place. Visited after 11 years. Same ambience. Retro songs.. food tastes same.. best place to hangout with family and friends.
Old charm and very quiet and soothing place.
Great peacful place Espically for those who dont want loud music..
This place has been average for a long time. Pricing is just right to keep away the ruffian crowd and attract the techie and business crowd. Suits families for casual dining in the ground floor area. Rooftop has no fan, terrible in summer. Just one waiter who has tremendous patience and serves well but very slow service. Good food and tasty tandoor. They have a TV so lots come to watch the game. Beware, few regulars have reserved seating so you may not get ideal tables. Probably one of the very few old joints in Malleswaram that's remained untouched and retains the old looks.
This is very good place for individuals and family also. Food r good no issue. Service is good.
Good ambiance, great service.. cost effective
Good Restaurant. Good for friends to hangout over a drink
Very good ambience for a quiet dinner.
Food may be a bit costly but you can't really complain about it.
However, note that this is a restaurant AND bar, so you'll find a lot of people chugging away on the ground floor. You'll have to head to the first floor if you don't want your children seeing that. Both floors work quite independently so it's not an issue.
Parking is mostly easy. 8th Main is pretty wide.
Vishnu Vallathparambil
+4
It's a decent restaurant with good variety of Veg and Non Veg options. Portions are good. The level of spice is pretty high and it may burn you. The staff is very courteous and helpful. Parking is an issue which need to be addressed especially in the evenings.
One of my favourite places in Malleswaram for a peaceful time with friends. More so because we used to go there from our college days. Food is very good. Ambience is decent. U can actually talk to friends and enjoy here rather than listen to loud music n miss the Important conversations.
Quiet place for dinner with family/friends. The food here regardless of what you order is yum. The staff is very friendly. French fries are known as finger chips here but they make better fries than McDonald's. Dry items like paneer chilly and lemon chicken are delicious. You get the normal alcohol items here and also juice, however i wouldn't recommend juice. Over all a very good place to chill.
This is a bar cum restaurant, however they are separately located inside. Situated in a calm and quite location on Malleshwaram 8th main road. This place has a cool ambience. Food, both veg and non-veg, served is good. Staffs are well mannered. Rates are quite reasonable. One can really enjoy the time spent here.
