Decent place opposite to CTR in 7th cross in 1st floor
Rice is unlimited rest other will be severed once
If requested twice
can try once, Liked hot Sambar and rasam.
Taste is ok.
A really unique place serving some delicious banana leaf meals. If you’re satisfied with the meal you have to ring the bell.
South Indian meals At a reasonable rate of ₹90-150₹.
Had heard about this place a lot and wanted to try it out. I must say I wasn't disappointed. A comfy home like ambience and staff greet you with smiles. That's just the beginning of the wonderful feast that's yet to be served. A delicious and healthy meal contains a big list of items like pickle, sabjis, akki roti, holige, paysam, puliyogare, bajji, sambar, rasam, curd rice (the menu changes daily) for as little as 100 bucks. Now, isn't that a real treat?
Best place to know about bengaluru food and culture
Nice food and great meals. Satvik ahaar at its best . Served at 90 rupees ,the meals served on banana leaves and rice, sambhaar , Suran bhajee, pickles, kheer, jalebi, Mirchi bhajeya was lovely. Best veg food in Bangalore.
I must say this place serves the best South Indian meals in Malleshwaram. Along with meals, I had tried bisibele bhaat. Spices were very well balanced and quantity was very much satisfying. Must visit.
Must try - Bisibele bhaat
Ambience - 2/10
Service - 9/10
Value for money - 9/10
Fully vegetarian food available, too much crowded to have food, we get tasty food with unlimited option, price is manageable to have dis option, I like dis place
The meal was great! simple, tasty and authentic. Every penny of the 90 rs you pay is worth it. The best part of the meals is the sambar and the spicy rasam.
Eat the sambar, drink the rasam!
Nice place. Does have some waiting time, but worth it considering the price for a meal is just 90 bucks and quality is reasonable. We were about 7 people and thoroughly enjoyed the meal spread.
A pure veg place, serving meals like you’d have in a temple or during a function. Superb! Or is it?
It’s on the floor above By2Coffee, that’s opposite CTR. It’s perennially crowded, especially during weekends. Expect to wait a while. I didn’t have that problem, FOR ONCE! Being a single diner, I settled in the single table in the far corner. Bless this place for that! What I didn’t know however, was you have to purchase a coupon in advance for the meal. That was remedied by paying the slightly harried but nice gentleman (opposite of the horrible Bad Grandpa in VB, Basavanagudi) the amount for the meal, so I didn’t have to get up.
The meals are served in turns, and once seated and with the Banana leaf in front of you, the meal is served in courses. The standards are pickle and salt, after which the Kosambri came, with two types of sweets. Then the Palya, and lemon rice. Soon came an Akki Roti with a nice chutney. Then the rice. Steaming and well cooked, they served Sambar first. Then Rasam (Saaru). Both were very tasty!! Then came some more rice for Mosaru (curd). I don’t know if they serve more of all the things I mentioned, because I got full with what was served to me.
The taste was truly authentic. This alone makes it totally worth visiting the place! The service can improve. They should stop acting like they are doing us a favour by letting us eat there. I would have actually given 3 stars, but the food is just superb!
Just for food I would have given 5 start ratings. But the ambience was really bad .We were made to sit on a table outside the dining room which to eat like ppl eating in queue were like staring at us.secondly when I asked them to on a table fan right next to us they were like its for the people inside. And they were very very very last in serving
Very tasty meals..very good place..nice staff....90rs per meal, which is really worth..Generally crowded on a weekend, still worth the wait...
Vegetarian’s Paradise!
For all South Indian food lovers out there! Must try place if you are vegetarian and who love south indian thali. The price is cheap. Thalli comes for ₹80 and place is hygienic and neat. It typically tastes like home made food.
Place 4/5
Food 5/5
Service 5/5
Food that is worth every penny especially if you love South Indian food. Must try in Malleshwaram. Hearty and satisfying. Just one shortcoming is that it is not unlimited. But a meal comes at 80 Rs so no complaints:)
Dear south Indians missing home food or the authentic temple food of south canara??? Don't worry just bump into this place and you would be more than happy!
It's located in the 7th cross of malleshwaram and the ambience is really very simple and it's over crowded but it's totally worth the wait. There are two kinds of meals one is the banana leaf meal which has wide range of varieties in the meal which costs you around 90 bucks, the other one is a mini meal which has rice ,rasam, sambar or majjige huli ,pickle ,bajji and curd rice which costs you 30 bucks. Trust me guys every single dish is delicious here and do check this place . I usually prefer the mini meals and then as a dessert I order holihe with loads of ghee ! I totally loved this place . Ambience could be improvised . The mini meals is self service and there are no seating arrangements for this but do check out this place I hope you like it.

They serve full 5 course meal karnataka brahmin style veggie meals. They don't use onion and garlic in cooking. I had been to this place with my family....
Taste – 4/5 If you are veggie you would love it, if your are brahmin and veggie you will love love it. If you are non-veg you will know why you should try vegetarian healthy meals. I loved loved it. Super super tasty. Meals is served on the bannana leaf, it was full 5 course meal.
1st Course - Mango pickle, boiled moong kosambari, hurali kal chutney, bende kai palya, moong dal payasam, mysore pak, methi chapathi, arave sagu and capsicum bajji. The chapathi was little hard and not hot.
2nd Course - Rice, Thave and ghee is served. Thave is kind of Dal. It was super tasty.3rd Course - Rice and white pumpkin sambar, I love this kind of sambar4rd Course - Rice and Rasam, this was my most favorite, the rasam had all the tastes combined together. The tanginess from tamarind, sweetness from jaggery was well balanced.5th Course - Rice and curd, this is not my favorite, but it always good to end your meal with curd rice for good digestion.
Service – 4/5 I bought 3 meals from the ground floor counter. The meals are served in the first floor. There is one guy who co-ordinates the whole process. I handed over the coupons to this guy and he will get you seated. Until the row is filled the service won't start. The serving is done in batches just like in marriage. This guy keeps ringing the temple bell every few mins. The service starts once a row is filled. They will first place the banana leaf and water. Once the service starts, to begin with the first course is served like a clockwork and after every few minutes the other courses follow. The coordinator guy seemed to be bit rude and while rest of service team seemed nice. They used serve if asked extra like sambar, playa. Overall efficient service team, you will be done with your meals in about 30mins
Ambience - 3/5 They have tried to give a feel of eating in temple environment with marriage hall like seating environment. It has two rows of seating like the serving hall seen in marriage halls and one row like restaurant style. There is big temple bell at the entrance, the coordinator keeps ringing this bell every few minutes. You will also hear background music like sounds from a temple environment. Guess the idea was to give you a feeling of eating in temple service hall. If you don't like crowded and confined place then you may not like this place
Value for money - 4/5 Definitely, full course healthy vegetarian meal and all for Rs. 90/-
Overall verdict - 4/5 Highly recommend this place for it healthy meals and people who crave for marriage like meals when no one you know is getting married or getting married but not inviting you for that meal :) Enjoy folks, eat healthy, live healthy....
Expect the fact that we had to wait for over 20 mins this place really had the perfect meal which was served on a plaintain leaf in an order. The food was good , so we didn't mind the waiting at all!

Great food for people who are missing temple kind of meals especially like the ones served in South canara temples like Kukke Subramanya or Horanadu Annapoorneshwari Temple.
This is a true brahmin style food with no garlic or onion, and high on copra infused delicacies.
Quantities is limited for most of the dishes and do love the consistency of payasam, they do serve special obbattu sweet on Sundays.
One of a kind place to enjoy the special rasam that is made in Horanadu style, rice and pickle.
This place in Malleshwaram was suggested by my colleagues.
3 of my friends had been here for lunch. We just look the coupon and went to the first floor. Its a complete marriage food served on banana leaf. They have different menu for 7 days. We had been there on a Wednesday so were served pumpkin halva, ragi rotti with orange chutney. Then holige, rice and pappu, rice majjige huli, rasam and curd. Bajji, papad and a few palyas. It was a complete brahmin filling lunch.
The taste is finger licking and work ₹80 per person!! I would surely be back another day to try a different meal.
Well, I have a frequent'ish' approach to this place (close to work, so!). Always liked their menu except for few days when they don't serve ghee. All in all, friendly and smiling staff, coconut-overdosed-food. Just opposite to CTR. The long queues wait will sometime give a headache but totally worth it when you taste the sweet payasam they serve.
Great quality. Food tastes really good. Best part it’s pure South Indian food without onion and garlic and spice level is perfect. Recommended for any age level.
Absolute value for money.. Courteous staff and amazing food. People looking a true South Indian meal can head here without question..
Will have to wait, as it can get crowded at times.. I was there around 1pm and was immediately given a seat as there was no rush, but saw about 20 people waiting when exiting.
Such amazing food! Made me sleepy at work though! Full meals with quick service and smiling staff. Loved the gajar halwa and Sunday :) #malleshwaramlunch #templemeals
Wholesome traditional lunch on plantain leaves. While the accompaniments ( chutney, pallya, sweet, seasoned rice) are limited, the main course with plain rice, rasam, sambar and curd are served without restrictions. The taste is exemplary and reminds of the meals served in south Canara temples. Could get crowded on weekends and waiting time may vary from ten to thirty minutes.
Typical Karanataka Traditional meals on Banana leaf!😃 One of the best place to visit to have traditional south Indian meals! 😍Very clean and neat place! 😊Around 16types of receipes they will serve! Best choice for Compete pet Pooja! 😋Appreciated for their efforts! 🤗
In the Busy streets of Malleshwaram Market we get the taste of Temple meals ...served Unlimited with just 90 Rs .. is really worth the money ..You get to taste the Authentic South Indian Meals served in Banana Leaf with sweet ,Sambar,Rasam,Curd and Vada ...It will give you a feel as if you eat in a south Indian Marriage ..

Typical South Indian thali.
# worth for the money
Good hospitality but small place.
Fills the tummy.
#must visit place in malleshwaram.
Most irritating is waiting for the seat in the weekends
Hope this will be resolved soon.
Food was very tasty. It's a simple place where seating is available and maintained in a clean manner. They provide bisleri water bottle with each meal. Monday's you get akki rotti and obattu. Overall managed well and very disciplined.

If you want a traditional Karnataka meal served in a neat place on plantain leaf, this is the place. All the palyas, sambar, rasam taste very much like a well made function meal. Open only for lunch it's definitely worth going not just from the price point (Rs 90/-!!!) but taste too.
Food : 4/5
Ambiance : 2.5/5
Cleanliness : 3.5/5
Service: 4.5/5 ( courteous staff )
Value for Money : 5/5
Recommended for lunch. Pocket friendly. This place is close to office, so visited this place for lunch with a friend today. It is mostly like how food is served at temple. They provide you packaged bottle for a meal at 90! Definitely worth giving a try. My Experience with food: Menu for us: paysa, pickle, kosambri, palya, chapati, curry, chutney, banana bajji, rice, rasam, sambar, curd.
We were served hayagreeva which was okay( Elachi and ghee was missing) and felt chapati was adulterated with maida. Best part was banana bajji, red chutney and rasam. It was pretty good!
Tips:
> Parking space is difficult to get. Do not park on random roads and no parking area. Chances are your vehicle will be picked up by police.
> Take a handkerchief or napkin. No tissues available.
Just another darshini in Bangalore. Service is pretty horrid and hygienist perks are being deprived of here such as tissue paper. The food here is good. Overall good experience.
Plus Points - Food is simple and apt for a meal. Ambience is also okay.
Minus points - Seating together with family is definitely a challenge. Also the food is served in a hurry. Can probably slow down on the service.
Meals is very traditional. U Hv to wait minimum 20 min , neat and clean . One can enjoy plantain leaf lunch!!! It was tasty but I felt they should give one more subji!!! All items were good except akki rotti ( edges were hard)
I visited By2 for its temple meal or banana leaf meal on a Saturday afternoon. They have two floors with a seating arrangement on the first floor where they serve their temple meals. At first the approach to the first floor seemed a little dirty but I thinking again it may have just been the the dim lighting and the ash coloured floor. The first floor is pretty clean and every table is cleaned after the diners finish their meal at the table. The set up for the temple meal reminded me of how food (not buffet) is served during pujas and weddings.
After you are presented with the banana leaf and a bottle of picked drinking water, one by one you are served with the different food items in decent quantities. Though the quantity of each food item is less the combined calories count of the complete meal is high enough for you to leave with a very full belly. I am not acquainted much with the food so I can’t individually name all the food items. But they do serve poriyal with some pulao, pongal, payasam, pooris, sambar rice, and curd rice among other things, and the meal ends with a paan. As I didn’t now what all items were there I had to keep asking the server if there was more food coming to know when it was ending. Just know that curd rice is the last main food them serve before the paan. There is no batch system and one can sit wherever and whenever a seat is available.
Total price of the meal for me was INR 160 as I visited on a Saturday. I was told the price of the temple meal is INR 140 for weekdays.
The meal was good and well filing. Definitely a 4/5. Will recommend for experiencing it at least once.
Good food at pocket friendly price. Really quick service, we had masala dosa which is outstanding dish to savour here. Karabath and kesari bath is just ok to eat. Coffee was really good to have. It’s always crowded here. You can definitely taste the food and coffee here.
I recently dined at restaurant "by2" and I must say, the dosa and coffee were absolutely amazing! The dosas were perfectly crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, bursting with flavor. The coffee was rich and aromatic, just the way I like it. The ambiance was pleasant and the staff was friendly and attentive. I'll definitely be returning for more delicious meals. Highly recommended for all dosa and coffee lovers!
The experience was great. The food was just tooo good 👌. Extremely well priced for a place like Bangalore. Definitely worth visiting this place if you are visiting Malleshwaram. 5/5 💯.
It was really a fantastic meal.. wholesome.. Loved it.. Hope they maintain the same taste and price.
So many dishes, i guess 1 or 2 dishes were extra because of festival.. Worth the money.. enough quantity.. just loved it. Definitely going again..
Awesome, tasty food. If you are looking for typical south Indian food in Bangalore, this is the place.. Shira, pickle, payasa, holige, Puri, sagu, 2 palya, rice, sambar, rasam, curd nd finally pan...
Must visit place..
Amazing food. Very clean ambiance and smooth serving
It's the authentic Kannada style temple meals. Food is authentic and delicious. It's just opposite to CTR. As this is very busy area getting parking for four wheeler is very difficult. We parked our car almost 300 meters away from the hotel.
If you are looking for the best South Indian thali or vegetarian food and pocket friendly food this place for you even the service of food is also good. They serve food in banana leaves.
Price of unlimited food thali is 160₹ and trust me all money 💸 worth it, they give packed water bottle end of meal you also get pan to eat
A Divine Culinary Journey: Pure Veg South Indian Delights at Temple Food, Malleswaram Bangalore
Nestled amidst the bustling streets of Malleswaram in Bangalore, Temple Food is a haven for food enthusiasts seeking an authentic South Indian gastronomic experience. As a devoted lover of pure vegetarian cuisine, my recent visit to this temple-themed restaurant left me enchanted, both by its serene ambiance and its delectable offerings.
Upon entering Temple Food, one is immediately drawn to the ambiance that mirrors the tranquil atmosphere of a traditional South Indian temple. Soft Carnatic music resonates in the background, and the gentle aroma of spices sets the stage for a memorable dining experience. The décor, adorned with intricate wooden carvings and colorful rangoli, exudes a spiritual aura that transcends mere dining into a spiritual journey.
The menu at Temple Food showcases a vast array of traditional South Indian delicacies, catering to diverse palates. My journey commenced with their signature Masala Dosa, crisp and golden, served alongside an assortment of chutneys and sambhar. The first bite itself was an explosion of flavors that transported me to the streets of Tamil Nadu. Next came the Pongal, a comforting blend of rice and lentils, garnished with ghee and pepper, a true delight for the taste buds.
Moving on to the main course, I savored their Thali, an opulent spread of curries, rice, and traditional accompaniments served on a banana leaf. Each dish was thoughtfully prepared, brimming with authentic spices and freshness. The Avial, a vegetable medley in coconut and yogurt gravy, stood out for its rich, creamy texture and the perfect balance of flavors.
For dessert, the Payasam stole the show. The luscious, creamy concoction of vermicelli, milk, and jaggery was the perfect end to the divine feast, leaving a lingering sweetness on the palate.
The courteous staff at Temple Food further enhanced the dining experience, their hospitality reflecting the traditional South Indian warmth and humility. Their willingness to explain the dishes and suggest personalized recommendations made the experience all the more enjoyable.
In conclusion, Temple Food is a gem in the heart of Malleswaram, a sanctuary for food aficionados seeking a spiritual and culinary awakening. For anyone who seeks an authentic South Indian culinary journey, Temple Food is a must-visit destination.

All of it in less than 200₹, you get a very good, tasty, temple like south indian veg lunch. Definitely a must try♥️
Masala dosa and coffee is too good.
When i saw the queue for ctr i changed my mind and came here and by2coffee is a worthy competitor.
Bangloreans are benefitting because of this healthy competition.
Signs of food war or food tech brewing 🤣
Best place to have breakfast here which is worth the money here idly Vada and coffee is the must try items. Coffe is my favourite which has the best quality. Chutney is very tasty. Masal dosa and they also have some sweets to serve, which are of 35rupees somewhat costly comparatively . But there is no proper parking nearby every time we should search for parking.
Excellent piping hot idli chutney, crispy Uddin wada, ok dose and super filter coffee. Initially very inexpensive but now normal prices. Chutney free flow but no sambar. Supposed to be run by ex brahmins cafe staff. quality is comparable.
Latest experience end of august 2023:
Normally they give excellent quality of items. But this time 16 idlis we got from outlet through swiggy app was half cooked kaccha and the company did not have even the courtesy to replace them allthough we informed them.
Complaint format of swiggy app is also so clumber some that after few trials I thought it's better to give up and forget about it
Tried: Uppit, Vade (Roast), Idly, Masale dose, Coffee.
Only chutney available, No Sambar
All good with cheapest price / fast service.
2idly,1vade,1 Masale dose - Just Rs 85/-
#xplorewhatyoulike
As the name suggests "By2", this hangout literally cuts half your spends on breakfast. You can find breakfast and lunch(also famously called Temple meals) at very Affordable prices, If you had tasted benne masala dosa here, I can bet this dosa can beat any other famous dosa like CTR and vidyavarthi bhavan that too for just 50rs. If you come to malleshwaram never miss this gem place. Especially the "*Temple meals*" for Lunch
The best meals in Bangalore. You pay 100/- at an Andhra mess and you get average food, absolutely no hygiene, bad service and ambience. For a mere 20/- more, you get good, healthy and hygienic meals. The taste is really good too. The service is prompt and quick.
The seating and ambience is ok, but keep in mind the price of the meals is very reasonable. Overall, a very satisfying meal. Meals in places like Nagarjuna, Nandana palace go upto 400/- and each time you feel bloated after eating there. Tried bharjari oota at upahara darshini and that wasn't as good as this. Meals at Maiyas was probably the worst and costs twice as much. This is one of the very few times I didn't regret having meals outside. Definitely recommend temple meals 🔔
My dad and I had lunch at this place as per his recommendation.
Absolutely lived up to the hype.
The Sambar rice and Rasam rice were delicious and tasty.
Not to forget the curd rice to finish off the meal which tasted good as well.
