Lip smaking food.... Wish I could kidnap the chef ;) rates r bit high... Lovely ambience.. pls visit this place for Kerala food..
Spent my wedding anniversary dinner with my hubby n kid here.... It's a wonderful place for a nice Kerala sea food.. I enjoyed our dinner..
This place is excellent ! Great ambience and great food. If you are a fan of Kerala cusine then this is the place to go !
The best Kerala style food I ever had from any restaurant in Bangalore, Leela Palace was the best in my list until this experience.
Also I should say that the service was very nice and the ambience.
Great place... Amazing food, ambience and great service as well... Kerala street food festival is on currently - wide variety and awesome setting while the food is second to none... love this place.
Superb ambience and delicious kerala food.. A good place to spend time with family.. Alot of parking area.. A very silent place.. Kids too can enjoy..
Its really a peaceful and romantic place to sit and enjoy food.....
Refreshing flavours and perfectly seasoned food. Had a great afternoon!
Awesome place with amazing ambience and good food.... Service was lovely... Well deserving 5 stars ....
Loved the food ,ambience..Loved the kulkki sharbat the most
Great, authentic and rare kerala cuisine.Simple yet elegant ambience and excellent service.
Salt Mango Tree is a great restaurant that'll leave you feeling a little closer to home - even if you're not from Kerala!
My favourites are the Malabar Beef Biriyani, Veg Meals, Kulukki Sarbath, Erachi Curry, Ghee Rice, Chicken Roast and Erachi Coconut Fry.
Built into a home, the ambience is great, and makes the food look and taste even better!
The parotta, chicken ghee roast and mango fish curry are to die for. Staff is courteous and attentive. The dishes are priced well and are worth each penny. Salt Mango Tree is my favourite place to eat at when in Bangalore.
The food is tasty and you get some really authentic fresh meal. It's not fancy but who cares about fanciness if the food is great. Their b*** chilli fry was really nice so was the allepy fish curry.
This place don’t have a proper parking . Bikes get towed . Food is good . I found the soups to be very spicey and ful of pepper . Kerala meals is good .
Fantastic authentic South Indian Food with great service and a quiet cozy ambience. The owner Anoop, made sure everything was perfect. Thanks.
Perfect place for a quick lunch. Loved the food.
Laid back ambience, delicious fare. Multiple visits over 24 months - consistently good, does not feel like restaurant food but closer to home cooked. Food is filling so don’t get carried away with the look of the portion sizes. Great for veggies and of course for non-veggies. Appam, stew, parotta, biriyani, ghee roast, sour preparations: veggie, prawn, king fish, mutton, chicken any prep on the menu - so far no complaints - if u want the chilli level higher or lower let them know, base is per se is quite perfect. Smiling staff makes you want to visit more often. One reco to SMT : loo door can be kept closed. Great place, thank you!
The Authentic and Typical Kerala Restaurant.
The Starters are very good and the main course too. There is a scope of opportunity in Desert but if someone likes jaggery then it will be better for them.
If someone wants to have a taste of Kerala then for them it's the place for them.
Kerala cusine is comfort food for me but at Salt Mango Tree, it is given a premium touch. The ambience and price of the dishes does not tell the story and culture of Kerala. Having said that, the food here is exceptionally tasty and a lot of care goes into its making. Awesome staff too.
Liked the food, initially I was afraid of coconut oil in the curry but the chicken stew was delicious. Loved the food but found bit costly. Final verdict
Ambiance: 😊😊😊😐😐

From the cuisine to the mystical art forms, the applauded services and the impeccable hospitality is what you can least expect at Salt Mango Tree.
Exquisite flavours from God's Own Country, unplug and unwind at the coffee shop that tickles your senses with aromatic brews from the best of Indian Coffee crop. Be assured this place is sure going to surprise you pleasantly.
With you fall in love with the food at Salt Mango Tree, let the interiors sweep your off your feet. The place comes live with a gallery of bharanis (Indian Pickle Pots) and painting of upcoming artists along with ambient sound tracks to lift one's spirit are just an added bonus.
I had been here to have Onam Special Sadya Meal. Restaurant was serving special meal during Onam festival.
Meal had almost all the dishes like Erissery, Pulissery, Thenga Choru, Pachadi, Avial, Paal Payasam, Rasam, Kadala Curry, Kalan Kerala Curry & Ulli Theeyal many more.
Each Meal costed me upto ₹699 + GST.
Onam Special Sadya Meal was really good in taste & value for money.
We can just sit back & enjoy the luxury of the finest hospitality that unfolds special moments for..
Despite waiting for an hour the food served was worth the wait. It's was delicious and authentic to its name. This was my first visit and I highly recommend it
We went there for their onam sadya and my husband also ordered some extra non veg dishes. Food was authentic kerala cuisine and the ambience was great.
Definitely a place to go for kerala cuisine
We went to SMT for Onam Sadhya yesterday. The food was fantastic. We waited two hours to get a place, and that was coincidental. We didn’t expect to wait two hours on a working day and Mr. Singh was trying So valiantly to manage the throngs arriving in traditional festive attire :) In the expectation that we’ll just get our place, we ended up spending the hours waiting (good thing we had a big breakfast). Anyway, the sahdya was phenomenal, food was still hot even though we were served at 4pm (!) and the staff was super helpful and attentive. Great service (not expected on a day with such a crowd) and superb spread. Totally recommend this place. Go before 15th for lunch- they’re still serving sadhya before they close for a two day holiday with the staff :))
Authentic Kerala food, across a wide variety of veg and non-veg options. Most popular are the beef/fish/regular meals that are served on banana leaf in unlimited quantities with the desired non-veg side dish. Malabar biriyani is also good and is available in chicken/beef/prawn options.
Could get very crowded during mealtimes and service takes a bit longer.
Delicious food, exceptionally polite staff, spiffy service, all at an extremely reasonable price. Just an excellent experience. Drop by. You'll walk out smiling.
Chill , almost at home, ambience with attentive staff ensuring your thaali is always full of great tasting food. Loved the beef fry thaali and fish thaali. The veg sides of the thaali were yummy to even a only non veg eater such as me. Loved the jaggery dessert too! Went for the beef fry, going to go back for a lot more deliciousness. Thanks Salt Mango Tree for a good South Indian affair.
It is a beautiful restaurant with Authentic Kerala cuisine. I had veg Kerala meals and it was soo good(not pocket-friendly though). There is a separate outdoor sitting for the snacks.

Delicious food: nothing less, nothing more but awesomely delicious food. Tried king fish Biryani, vegetable malabar curry, wheat parota, and puttu. Finished the meal with refreshing lemon tea. Will come back soon.
Great place,good food,great staff.
food i have liked here:appam, kerela parotha, chicken roast, chicken stew(i love the way they prepare this)
The Kerala meals are good here .what I love here is the evening counter where you can get hit lemon tea and Palmaburi and other snacks .
The ambience is of a open outdoor setting for the snacks which I quite like for a solitude experience of tea that's inexpensive

Came here for breakfast on a dear friend's suggestion . This is an a-typical Kerala cuisine restaurant ( compared to the old popular chains in Bangalore) . A house converted into restaurant , ambience is very relaxed with semi private sections . Hard steel chairs , so this place is designed to eat a quick meal and get out 😄😄. The kadala curry and appam were standard fare served fresh and hot 👍. The pazham pori was soft and good. Heard some good feedback about their meals . Will try one of these days
A beautiful little restaurant with authentic Kerala cuisine. I had a delectable fish meal which was nearly never-ending. Loved the mild spice and tanginess of the fish curry. Definitely value for money.
One of the best places to have Kerala food in Bangalore. Their Malabar chicken biriyani is to die for and even the meals are a solid 4. Ambience is not too great but definitely a must visit.
I loved this place , The staff was polite . I had velliappam and vegetable stew .Everything smelled like authentic Kerala food .Ghee Chicken Roast was also cooked to perfection and the spices , their fragrance reminded me of the local kerala practice of making spices at home . Even the fresh lime soda was so so great ! Definitely gonna visit again.
Amazing food, especially the raw mango dal and the fish!
Also try the passion fruit drink, it's utterly refreshing and with just a hint of chilli for a little kick
Really loved the ambience here. Very quiet and cozy place. We came here for breakfast. Ordered appam and egg curry. It was super spicy and delicious. The tea served along with it could have been better.
Best Place for Kerala food in Indiranagar ,,Love this restaurant very much.Their service is very good,, they were asking multiple times if we need anything even if it was meals, they even offered second time payasam with meals.Mind and stomach full .
By FAR the best mallu food in Bangalore. Friendly staff, simple and clean ambience. Extremely fast service.
Must try:
Beef Fry
Parupu manga curry
Prawns
My go-to lunch spot at least once a week.
Truly delightful, SMT sits in a cute corner in the bustling lanes of indiranagar. The place is mostly styled after a canteen but don’t let that fool you. The food is truly a culinary marvel and feels like a true taste of the south. A definite must try is the mango prawn curry.
I went here for dinner and lunch a couple of times.
Lunch was mind blowing, the most yummy and authentic kerala food I had in Bangalore and it was worth the money. Payasam was just out of the world and they didn't hesitate to give second servings.
Dinner was just okay and did not live up to my expectations.
We ordered varuth aracha chicken curry and chicken had an odd taste. Appam and beef was good. Porotto was just okayish.
Service was good.
Value for money 3/5
Ambience 4/5
Service 4/5
So tired of searching good local food here. Hailing from Mumbai and being a foody, didn't wanna try those regular outlets . So searched and this name salt mango tree so catchy. We were very apprehensive. Reviews were good. Ambience simple ..No ac... ahhhh...But made up my mind on this place. Entrance is filled with some so very positive energy. Staff is super cool at your service. We ordered ghee roast chicken, coriander chicken for kids , paratha , chicken curry. Papad. And buttermilk was so so yummy. Ghee roast was something to die for. Very very hygienic. So clean. And the energy was superb.
P.S . Toilets were super clean. They have a special comod which kills bacteria. I was proud of my find. Sure to visit again.
A great value for money outlet. Delicious food, fast service and a good price. Although the staff kept staring at our table which was obviously weird. Please ask your staff to stop ogling at the customers.
Been to this place a couple times. Recently went there for breakfast – and I think it’s going to become a regular.
The place is much like a house converted to a restaurant. Very minimalistic décor – but well ventilated.
They asked if we wanted to start off with some tender coconut water – which we instantly jumped on. They gave us actual tender coconuts, which ere chilled (heavens!). What a treat.
They serve a variety of traditional Kerala breakfast food. We tried the appams and veg stew, and the masala dosa.
Finished off with some filter coffee.
A must visit place if you like Kerala cuisine, and a hearty pleasant meal.
Having been exposed to typical Keralite food during an establishment of an ayyappan swami temple near my locality, I have had experience of an authentic thali there. My experience with Salt Mango tree of was similar kind. The staff is very nice and considerate. Special thanks to Vipin sir and the Head of their team who is managing the restaurant. I will highly recommend this place to all who are either trying kerala thali first time or are from Kerala. I am going next week again with my friend who is visiting. The place is very simple, clean, hygienic and its simplicity is its beauty. :) All the best team The Salt Mango tree. :)
Salt Mango Tree is easily one of the best Kerala restaurants in Bangalore. They provide traditional choice of menu and have a cozy ambience. The food is excellent and completely authentic.
Walking down one of the by-lanes of 12th Main street at Indiranagar is this humble restaurant that appeals for it's menu.
My husband, on the lookout for a good appam & stew dish was very happy with the preparation. Chicken Stew was soothing while the Chicken Kerala Masala was packed with flavour. We complemented this meal with a good glass of buttermilk.
Moderately priced and full of flavour, this restaurant is a must visit if you are craving some good Kerala Food.
Tucked into one of the smaller lanes of Hal 1st stage, this place came to my notice when I was returning home after a super awesome biriyani feast at Aaha Andhra. I could not go that day, but it was always hovering in my radar. So a few days ago, when my wife was searching for a place to dine out, I suggested SMT. We did not have any starters and directly jumped onto the mains. While I chose wheat paratha and Varutharacha kozhi curry, my wife went with the evergreen combo of stew and appam. What amazing taste all of them had!!!! The spicy chicken curry and the creamy stew balanced our taste buds perfectly. I am sure the other dishes will be very good, so looking forward to paying my 2nd visit soon. Double thumbs up from my end.
A really good restaurant that stays true to it’s tagline ‘A Kerala Kitchen’.
Please visit this restaurant to have sumptuous Kerala food. The wheat paranthas are the best ones I’ve tasted( it’s really light, flaky and delicious), the varutharacha kozhi curry is aromatic and flavoursome. Finally the payasam is a perfect way to top off the meal.
Do visit this restaurant which is true to its roots and delicious in its food.
Love the non veg meals here . The beef fry is heavenly. The non veg platter is a must try. Love the complimentary drink that they give you as soon as you are seated !
The Kerala porotta was excellent.. likely one of the best in Bangalore. When we went there, the rice that went with the Fish curry meals and beef fry meals was white, Not the ideal red rice!!! The beef fry with the meals was yummmy...so were the touching of pickles, chutney etc. The Chicken Green chilly curry tasted like Fish Moilee, good but should it be so; we might as well have ordered fish moilee??? The Chicken roast didn't have any piece at all, so the bearer went back to fill in the pieces...and in the end we got a few, as in really a few added in by afterthought!!! Taste was like Egg Roast...no blames there, coz I liked it!!! Overall if you want a decent experience with Kerala food, go there...it's clean, and the food tastes nice, but Nothing exceptional!!! A bit overpriced for the quantity served, that's for sure!!!
Kerala food has always been love at first bite for me and this place lives upto (or I must say even exceeds) my expectation and high standards I have set for this cuisine.
Firstly the ambiance is simple, clutterfree and spacious (as it is set in a bunglow). They have not overdone it like its other contemporaries. They have a wall dedicated to all the great personalities from Kerala who have made the state proud.Had a great time reading about them while waiting for the food.
Secondly the staff was very courteous and proactive (something you don't easily spot in Bangalore).
Lastly what left a lasting impression was the food.Finger licking awesome! We ordered for chicken ghee roast, prawn masala, appams and a very refreshing Nannadi Sarbath.Every dish was burst of flavours in our palate.
Surely worth many more visits
I am giving them a 5 star rating specially for their amazing Appam & Veg Stew.
This places serves authentic yummy Kerala food.
I also tried Kerala Rice along with Chemeen Thiyal & Chemeen Manga Curry (both prawns curry), Allepey King Fish Curry. Everything tasted yumm. The fish curries were served in earthern pots.
I will definitely recommend this place if you love Kerala food.
Food - 5/5
Service - 4/5

Typical kerala veg thali. Side dish serving was very good. I liked the dry style aviyal. Sambar needs little more spicing. Ended with payasam 😊
On my next visit I will try non vegetarian
Excellent place to savour appam and mutton/chicken stew for dinner. The meals served at lunch are delicious.
One ought to try the Kreme Kerala for dessert
The food is very testy,The ambiance is amazing. Staff are also friendly, all employees is an amazing very good service, I love it,I visit again, over is so nice
The feeling: to want to come back again and again because every time you think of SMT your mouth waters :)
I am of the personal belief that the healthiest food is the one made fresh locally and SMT bears testimony to that. I eat here very frequently because of ...
The meals: whether it’s vegetarian or fish curry or chicken meals they do it well. Please don’t go comparing this to Nagarjuna meals or MTR meals this is Kerala meals so it IS going to be different. It’s coconut based, meat/fish included and with red rice and mellow Malabar spices occupying pride of place. The important thing is it is tasty, close to the real Kerala stuff as you can get in Bangalore and is satisfying
Food: every dish is worth the price you pay.
No matter how much you eat it never gives you the jeepers. It’s spiced right and authentic to the nature of the cuisine. Apart from the meals do try their biryani or the various meat dishes they have on offer. Their appam and stew in the morning with an omelette on the side is a terrific start to a weekend :)
Price: for the quality and quantity it’s priced right. Now they are slightly pricier than their other nearby Kerala cousins like shaap or motis kitchen or green pepper but unlike these hoi polloi eateries they are bang on in taste and quality.
If you are looking for a good and satisfying and not to mention healthy Kerala meal or your Sunday fix of a sinful biryani head here right away and you will not be disappointed. All the Malayali families thronging this place every day for lunch underlines why SMT is worth you time, money and effort. Thank you SMT for many rocking afternoon lunches with coffee on the side and conversations with my loved one :)
S and I rarely eat Malayali Food at restaurants because if that’s what we have a hankering for we can simply walk across to his Grandma‘s place down the road from home. We are also very constructively critical of Malayali food, especially the tenderness of the beef after it’s cooked and the tastiness of the masalas used.
We do love to indulge in the delicious food at Thattukadas and Shaaps when we travel to Kerala.
So when friends told us about the unlimited Thattukada experience in the Salt Mango Tree, we were excited to try it.
It was absolutely worth it; there was so much variety and it was so yummy and authentic!
I’m going to recommend this place to the rest of my family.
Very nice kerela restaurant and serve authentic food. We had meal and they to have variety of byrani, starters and Curry. Very good ambience and service
Can give 4.5 stars but the healthy food there is little too healthy for me as the rice little less thick them marbles. Kerala rice.
Also was disappointed with the service a little just the response delay.
I am normally very skeptical of providing highest rating to a place that has not been around forever (decades usually) .. Salt Mango Tree misses out being rated 5 stars only on that high bar as otherwise the place is beyond spectacular in every regard - food, taste, service and value. It is such a privilege to go a restaurant that understands the nuances of regional tastes, appreciates the soul of underlying cuisine (north Kerala specialities in this instance) and stays true to the complexities of delicacy in its preparation and presentation.. the more common version is dilution of intent to appeal to a larger audience.. I am hoping Salt Mango Tree remains original in this regard for a long period.. full meals, coriander pepper chicken and anjal fry.. Don’t need anything more to say. Just have to get down to eating! Salt Mango Tree = Joy of Kerala food = Happiness!
The place may look mediocre but the food and service is great. Very good Kerala cuisine.
Four of us went. The ambiance is good. It is an old house renovated (interior) in a restaurant. This is basically a kerala food themed restaurant. The starters and main course are all kerala based dishes. The food was good. We ordered baby potato fry and mutton dry for starters and Appam, veg Stew, kadala curry, kadala curry and mutton stew for main course. The appam was very nice 👌 . Also will recommend the kadala curry and Mutton stew . Also another point is the dishes are quite large portions. Actually for 4 of us we ordered 3 curries and after eating 4 appams each still the curries were remaining and we had to parcel the rest. ( we strongly believe in not wasting food and water ). The desert is also kerala based. So we had Sulaimani tea which is black tea with herbs. We went on a Monday evening so we were able to have a quite atmosphere. Overall the experience is good.
The food is just so goooood! Everything we ate was so delicious! The chutney were yummy! The coconut caramel pudding was too amazing
Loved the food! And rates were reasonable too. I just loved the place. Hygienic, good service and food was prepared with love!!!!
Second visit here, and after many years. First visit was right around the time they started, and can't recall how it was.
This time went for Fish curry sadya, chicken biryani, porotta and chicken roast. I have been trying to get a good chicken roast in BLR, and it's been a unfulfilling quest so for, till today. This was one of the best chicken roast, period. Its on par with some of the roasts I have had in Kollam and TVM. Thank you for making my day with just that dish. Biryani was good too, and so was the fish curry. Sadya was decent, porotta was disappointing. Don't know why BLR restaurants take our Mallu staple food so lightly. Very often it's the soft and soggy version that we get here, not the crisp and fluffy type we get back home. Not sure if this one was ready to eat variety, but didn't enjoy it. Just that the next level chicken roast made me forget about the shortcomings of porotta.
Payasam - palada was decent, but Ada pradaman was surprisingly good. Overall, very very good meal. Enjoyed it. Will be going back for that chicken roast.
Service leaves a lot to be desired though.
Nice place to be of you love Kerala cuisine. Topiaca and fish fry was exceptional Mutton food my taste was average.
Went here for Onam Sadhya Lunch . taste really good. The service was quick. They were able to manage with all the waiting
Excellent food with native flavours.. Pork and mutton recipes are must try items with appam or Malabar parota.. there’s a slight delay in service but it’s worth waiting as they make everything fresh in their open kitchen.. Authentic flavour of Kerala is available here.
We have ordered Malabar Chicken Biryani and Beef Pepper Roast. The flavour of the biryani was delicious. The best part is that the chicken was so tender and flavours smack. The quantity of both the item was very good enough for two people.
One among the best Kerala restaurants in the area..
A bit overpriced.
The menu has got everything we expect from a Kerala restaurant.
One must try the Kerala cuisine in this restaurant in Indiranagar.
The decor is very simple and nice.
The food is awesome
One must try their Appam and Stew.
Actually the food tasted very good and have the spicy Kerala taste. Food was served hot and fresh. But the pepper roast ordered seemed a bit off but rest dishes felt excellent. It’s a fair enough place to have a meal !!
A good place for Kerala dishes, both Veg and Non-Veg. Neatly managed peaceful and clean ambience, spacious enough for a relaxed dinner/lunch. They have items in their menu specially designated for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Varutharacha curry- which is a Kerala style dish made by grinding and frying coconut, is my favorite here. Most of the items I tried, are tasty. They have special sea food dishes and desserts too. Worth a try.
Amazing Food, best you can get in Bangalore
Delicious meal in a cute setting. The breads were amazing!
