The neighbourhood popular north indian home style food. We had ordered in for a group and tried quite a few items including palak paneer, alu curry, rajma masala, paneer burji. The palak paneer was simple and salt-less but homely. The rest of the dishes were also less oily, less spicy, blandish but comfort food. The main course including jeera rice and chapathi, alu, mooli, mix veg, paneer parathas were all average, non oily but were cold though the food had been picked up immediately. Good when you don't want hotel style stomach corroding spicy, oily food. But not when you want standout or super tasty food.
Absolutely love this place! As a bachelor living off restaurant food, I'm constantly worried about the quality of ingredients in the food I'm eating, the amount of oil used, hygiene etc.
This is a rare gem of a place where everything is just right. The food tastes just like home, there's no excess oil or grease in any of the food, the portions are perfect and the staff is friendly.
I appreciate the concept of "half plate" curries, which lets you sample multiple things without worrying about wasting food.
I feel lucky that I live and go to work close to this place because I can hop in here almost everyday.
Please start making breakfast as well. I hope you never ever have to shut shop! :)
Amazing kheer, love to eat it again and again.I loved the paneer bhurji and bhindi .Its yummy, Amazing kheer .Hats off to the shef.I stay in a PG and ordered kheer one day randomly from this restaurant they cook the yummiest kheer and the food tastes like home made,No extra oil and added spices its simply amazing.
I eat/parcel at Tasty bites almost thrice weekly. I enjoy the simple home cooked style food. I like bhindi masala, mooli paratha, gobi masala, kadi, etc
I have been going to Tasty Bites since 2002. The taste remains the same. My favourite items are:
Oil less phulka, palak paneer, dal tadka, and rice kheer. The taste it that of home cooked food; less oil, no soda, less masala. I have never got a tummy ache after eating here. If you want to eat a nice and humble meal— tasty bites it is.
North Indian food. Tastes average,, best part it tastes homemade. Not very spicy. U can have on a regular basis. So seating capacity have to take away. Just on the main road so no space for 4 wheeler parking.
We ordered phulka, paneer butter masala and kaala channa. We loved the taste. Phulkas were soft and warm while delivered. Paneer was soft and kaala channa was very tasty. I will recommend you to try.

Not a place to seat and eat as its extremely small and stuffy.
They serve amazing North Indian cuisine ranging from parathas to Sabjis and pulaos all pure vegetarian. The dal makhni, baingan ka bharata, Makai kofta, aloo parathas and daal is awesome. Don't miss on the daal khichdi.

This place gives you amazing and delicious food which actually reminds of my mother's cooking it is a very nice place for north india specifically the khichdi is amazing i would definitely recommend people to visit this place for good and tasty food the only problem is that it is hard to locate but other than that it is a wonderful food joint.
You might fail to locate this tiny outlet if you are not looking hard enough but the food here something which is not at all to be missed, specially if you are a north Indian in Bangalore missing ghar-ka-khana. Simple yet tasty veg with home-like garma-garam roties served right outa the stove! Their paneer bhurji is delectable. Also, if you get a chance to talk to the elderly guy at the billing counter, do strike a conversation. He's a pleasure to talk to. The seating ain't plenty, you'll have to wait. You could also take a parcel, but then would miss out on the hot rotis being served out to you ;)
I came across this restaurant while searching for North Indian food in JP nagar rd. I took some to go ( take away). The food was really like home made food. Priced reasonably and they do home delivery too. Decent dining area for families too. Going order from here when in need. Hard to find restaurant like this.

A very good place to rejoice ghar ka bana Khana (homemade food) away from home and is a bliss for office goers of JP nagar and arekere. With reasonable prices and good food quality makes this place apt for hanging out when one feels to have less spicy food and when moms cooking is missed! Will be visiting here often!!
Ordered food from their Arekere outlet. The manager was quite helpful and patiently talked through menu options, best time to order, etc. Most sides are on demand so you may not get everything you want, but what they do offer is pretty good. I liked the fact that the taste is pretty close to home, they go easy on spices and oil, which suited my parents' palate quite well. Rotis & parathas were soft. Will order again.
If you are in a mood for quick light food without much spice and oil then pick this place. Loved their phulkas .. Also like their choice of half plate for all dishes. My regular order is phulka with half portion each of paneer bhurji, rajma, baingan bharta. I'm yet to try out all varieties but i am already impressed.
Food here is like ghar ka khana. They have a small outlet in jp nagar 1st phase also. I used to have my lunch tere. Must try their sweet Lassi & lime water. Phulkas & paranths are very good. Veggies are okay. Try sattu paratha.

This restaurant serves as a perfect option for those days or just about any other day. This vegetarian restaurant prepares homely North Indian food with the focus being on less spicy,less oily and less laden with masalas. The regulars to this place, office goers in the vicinity will tell you that it's the parathas (aloo, mooli, methi etc) that the place specialises in. The gravy and dry sabji dishes have a freshness in them. You must try the thali if you cannot get yourself to decide on one Dish. Whatever you try, you'll be sure to get a comforting feel that accompanies home cooked meals. The restaurant itself is quite unassuming with simple metal tables and chairs placed for seating which kind of reflects the simplicity in the food. The staff is plesant. The price is reasonable as you may end up paying in double digits if you order just one dish. This one is strictly for North Indian(read delhi) food lovers and will not appeal to you if you look for overtones of other cuisines.

After more than two year I revisited the place.
Ordered a veg thali and a paratha thali along with lassi.
The food was decent apart from paratha fillings were a chilly riot. Had the amazing lassi been not there I would have not been able to eat the parathas.

I had eaten at this place for two consecutive years almost daily. They have one more branch on 24th main , jp nagar which I used to frequent.
Pretty decent and homely food, not too spicy or oily and easy on tummy.
They used to have good variety as well and keep changing the menu daily.
And that uncle on the counter always used to welcome you with a smile and ready for a chat.
Food is tasty and pocket friendly.
Ambiance is not great. but worth for the money you pay.
Staff is also friendly.

One of the best and most economical places in BG Road for home delivered veg food. The delivery may take some time but the food has never disappointed and at the current pricing, I am pretty satisfied.

I visited this place first time a couple of days back and I was cursing myself for not having found this place before. For 2 years in Bangalore I was searching for a place which can provide me with good food which tastes like home food, finally I have found one.
The freshly cook home food was just brilliant. The food spread was just perfect and you have everything - from appetizers, main course, deserts, palate cleansers everything. And the food taste is bloody damn excellent. The food is freshly cooked and is served hot. The quantity is also perfect. And whats more good is that if you are going alone you can order half plate of curry if you believe that you wont be able to finish the entire dish alone. Another thing that stands out for me is that they alter their menu very regularly. So you can have a good variety of food whenever you go.
The staff was very cooperative, they help you in getting your mix right.
Not much has been done with the ambience, that perhaps gives it the complete home feeling rather a feeling that you are in a restaurant.
These guys do home delivery also, which is another fantastic thing. I hope they start Tiffin service soon - I would be their first customer.
This places is nearest to my house, and its a shame that I didn't found this earlier.Visited there last evening, and felt immediately as "homely place". Fresh home cooked food it what they serve, and taste is too good.I had paratha with butter, and chatni/etc and it was very good. After that as I was hungry, took rice/yellow dal and mix veg. The taste was good, and portion was just enough.
Best part was , they server full and half plate both,and price is pretty cheap. They do home delivery as well,and am looking forward for that in coming days.
PS: Dont miss the kheer, it was out of the world.

Carefully, tastefully and well prepared. Consistently good food. Have been to Tasty Bites on numerous occasions and have always left feeling good.
Very courteous staff and the main men are always smiling and trying to ensure that you are taken care of. Have struck conversations with them on numerous occasions.
The combos in my opinion are the best deals here. Am a huge fan of Tasty Combo 2. Some rice, 3 Rotis, sabji, paneer sabji, raita, dal and dessert (kheer/custard). Portions, some say aren't too good. But in my opinion, its just right.
Gulab Jamuns are awesome as well. Freshly prepared, hot and soft jamnus!!
Overall a safe bet if you are in the mood for vegetarian food.

I went for home delivery as the place is very near to my house. Simple food, good taste, really like the half portion concept, apt for one. Custard was amazing, very homely. Paneer chilly was slightly high on the ketchup base, I loved it, ( went very well with my drink ;) but it certainly was not from the regular paneer chilli genre. What I loved was that it was an innovative dish not just a concoction of ketchup! Simple things served differently. The batter fry of the paneer chunk was a key differentiator. Delivered on time. It was my first time, n I throughly enjoyed it.

For any newcomer into Bangalore who wants a taste of home made food. Tasty bites literally lives up to its name. Every evening is a new variety. If you get their after 9pm, be rest assured there will be limited or no food available. Hot ghee phulkas, paneer kadhai, dal and rice and sum it up with a lassi. It was very difficult to even get up after that meal.

I have only been to the JP Nagar branch, a few times. Usually there's an uncle sitting there, talking in Hindi. He's from north India too. The place has the GENUINE taste of paranthas. Aloo Paranthas are so good.. and the dahi. While I almost lost hope when it came to finding proper curd in Bangalore, this place really restored it. The curd is thick and chilled and a lot. Unlike most restaurants that claim to serve paranthas. They give pickle which my mom loved, totally.
They don't have cold drinks but they have lassi which is awesome! It's a tiny one single shop area thing, with one(or two) tables, but one could stand and eat otherwise. I have never ever tasted such Delhi-like food.. so authentic, in Bangalore, anywhere else.
Edit: I go there pretty often. I'm not sure about the Bannerghatta Road branch. :)

Not visited them for years, but was a favourite joint for years when I stayed in South Bengaluru. This is the best North Indian food I have experienced in Bangalore both in terms of quality and variety. From college through my initial professional career this place was like food for the stomach and soul at the same time. Do visit, and wish them the best.
This is my go to restaurant for homestyle comfort food. The taste is incredible, not too heavy on spice and unlike a lot of restaurants where multiple curries taste the same, everything here is unique.
Very pocket friendly and I love their concept of "half plate" curries. You end up not wasting food when eating alone.
It's been 15+ yrs since I started having here. It's one of those places u don't get bored to eat out,guilt free as the food is like home here. The options and choosing half portions is great. Meal for 2 with dessert is about 300 Rs.

My personal favourite dish is paneer Burki and brinjal dish. I even like the mixed fruit custord.

The rotis here feel like your mom cooked them I swear. Same goes for the Rajma. I come here for my meals very often. Very low key, highly underrated.
