It seems to be a nice place, but has lot of mosquitoes. I understand it's an open place, but something should be done about it. Also, I had been here on a weekday and most of the items on the menu weren't available and the service was a bit slow, but the staff are courteous.. however, if these are taken care off, it's a really good place. Had paddu and loved it..

We all have that one day when we crave to go to a place which is surrounded by greenery, flowers. Some place which is romantic and different. For those days ,this restaurant is favorably located. The food is normal. But the location is romantic. Esp for a day when the weather is beautiful

Great restaurant , really tasty food, amazing deserts and decently priced , great cafe stop too , the garlic bread here is really crispy and a lot of cheese on it , this has to be tasted here, a must try , but the doughnuts are too soft on the inside and not crisp , but it has less oil , so it's good.

Age old restaurant at the MG road boulevard. I remember this restaurant since my childhood days. This place on mg road is a perfect escape from the loud, traffic driven locality in Bangalore..the boulevard set up is perfect to enjoy a light snack and filter coffee at Dasprakash. We tried the capsicum rings, Mangalore bonda, masala dosa and rava dosa. Coffee was great with the right amount of strong caffeine. It's a lovely place to sit during a nice cloudy day.

This place is situated on the walkway near MG Road metro station. We saw a small cafe down on the street on approaching them they suggested that they have restaurant above and we decided to visit. I must say the place where it's been set up is amazing, all green grass and greenery around and u have quiet likes European set up of tables & chairs arranged. An elongated kind of place having South Indian as well as Continental food. I must say I didn't expect this much from the resto but the food was just amazinggg we had white sauce Pasta and Veg. mini 🍕 also garlic bread, one of the finest garlic bread I ever had. A good place to spend time with you family, special one, friends.

Beautifully placed adjecent to MG Road metro station. The 1st floor of this resturant gives a view of greenery on one side and other side the busting busy street. It gives a cafe look with a long strech...

Coming to food we ordered light snacks/starter type. Starting with coffee and bonda to accompany the rainy and breezy weather plus onion uttapam. We wanted to try their pasta and something with cheese and bread. Bruchetta was something suggested by the waiter and we went for it. I will say no regrets and it was nicely cheesy and crispy. In pasta we ordered penny in white sauce and it was good enough.

Nice place to hang out with good food and greenery and the rain was cherry on icing.

Just the perfect location to be, nicely placed with awesome ambience. Food wise both South Indian and continental were decent in taste, and serving too was very friendly.
Sitting there eating , sipping coffee, chit chatting with the view of Banglore's own MG road is totally bliss.

Would love to keep visiting!!

This place is all about Location Location Location! Smack-dab in the middle of the boulevard of the metro station, it's got that cool, street-side cafe vibes! It's a good place to sip on fantastic filter coffee while gazing at the day go by, reflected in the buzzing hum-drum of MG road. It's beautiful both during the day and the night!

I love the Mangalore bajji and the dose they have to offer; my only qualm though is that it's been looking a little run down lately... Why? Why is such a gorgeous place looking unkempt. Nevertheless, I look forward to carving out enough time to take a break from the ever-busy atmosphere of MG road and eat here again, to watch evenings go by in a lazy haze, peppered with the twinkling tail lights in the traffic.... 😍

Visited this joint recently while visiting the MG Road Boulevard. The Boulevard in itself is quite a revelation. And allowing you to have food over seeing the MG Road hustle bustle is a great occasion in itself. Food wise nothing very extravagant. In short you can call it a Darshini much of the class of A2B. You would have a touch of Chennai in the Dosas especially. Never the less, the Dosa was nice and tasty. But ambience stands out of all. Worth a visit for the ambience specially.Cheers!

A very serene place surrounded by the Bougainville this place will make you wanna take a break from whatever it is that you were up to. Not easily visible from outside and you will have to take that path to view it owing to its lack of crowd I assume . I ordered the banana dosa which is mostly plain dosa but with a tinge of banana flavour and I liked it a lot . Prices are reasonable enough compared to other places at MG Road. The best part is that it's a place where you can just sit and get lost from the outside dilemmas.

Did you ever feel like going to the most serene place and take a break in between city's hustle? Come here and just get lost in Peace. View of the MG Road from this place looks outlandish. Food is typically south Indian and its pretty decent. It has got an completely NO non-sense interiors, like really classy space. Staff here are friendly. Strongly recommended for those who want to spend quality time with their loved ones.

Only thing is that it's little expensive compared to the competitors in its segment.

The first place I visited in Bangalore. Just loved the hospitality because when we told them we were from Bombay the manager came and met us and explained the history of place and gave us a lot of different taters from the menu. Dosas are really yummy and if you want a sweet dosa please try the banana dosa and furry fuity icecream.

The best thing about Dasaprakash is its ambiance. Located on the MG Road boulevard, it is flanked by bougainvillea on one side and a mini forest on the other. An ideal setting for a leisurely weekend breakfast. You can spend hours together in the idyllic setting in the midst of nature. However, in summer it could get a bit warm in the absence of air conditioners or mist fans.

Dasaprakash specialises in South Indian cuisine. We sampled the khara bath, pongal, puri and masala dosa. We quite liked them, but for the puri which was thicker than it should have been. We also relished the grape juice and mint lemon cooler. We rounded off the breakfast with an authentic Madras filter coffee. Overall, a lovely experience.

The outlet serves a dozen varieties of dosa, idli vada, rava idli, bisi bele bath and meals.

Nice outdoor seating area, but lots of mosquitoes. I was amazed at how only three people were managing such a large area, with only one cook in the kitchen. Because of this people had to wait a little more than usual. The food was simply delicious.
Masala and rava masala dosa - both good. Rava dosa could have been crispier.
Mangalore bonda- crispy, tasty stuffing
Capsicum rings - crispy
All chutneys and sambar provided were mouth watering

Full marks to location, ambience and reviving old memories of Bangalore.

You will find many young couples roaming around giving a feel of army area of Pune:)

Masala Dosa was crispy with batter having Tamilian taste but Sambhar was not.

Though, The reverse combination will be one of the best for Dosa (Tamil Sambhar with Local Dosa)

Idli's or Mini Idli's are very ordinary.

Will suggest to try this place once for lighter snacks or breakfast.

Visited this place four weeks back. It's located at the sidewalk next to MG Road Metro Station. Beautiful restaurant it is. It is usually very less crowded and very very peaceful.

I was lucky enough to meet Mr. Das who is owner of this restaurant. What followed was a deep dive into lavish, vibrant and refreshing south-Indian cuisine. Mr. Das was courteous enough to explain me the theme and story of this restaurant. Along with the conversation with Mr. Das i got to taste complimentary samples of all the dishes in the kitchen. I also tasted various other items which were not on the menu right now and coming soon.

All I could say is this opened my eyes and taste buds to south-indian cuisine. There were so many things which were available at one place. I think this is one of best place in Bangalore for traditional South-Indian food.

Banana Dosa, Irish Stew are the few things we liked.

The staff is awesome here and they are prompt and courteous. No hovering around while you are enjoying what you ordered.

Conversation with Mr. Das was enriching and insightful. He is a spiritual man and was kind enough to do a little story telling for me and connect the dots between spirituality and food. He also explained the logo of this place to me.

Food become more delicious with awesome conversations and that's what happened that day.

I visited this place multiple times after this and this is my favourite hangout place now. Thanks Mr. Das for your love and hospitality.

After you shed a few calories walking on MG Road, Boulevard , you can gain at all at Dasa Prakasha. The food here is average but this place is just about the ambiance. Surrounded by plants on one side and the view of the never ending vehicles on MG Road, this place is so awesome refreshing for a long chat with some coffee and south Indian tiffin. This is a must experience for all those new to the town.
Coming to the food, they serve a blend of Tamil Nadu and Karnataka cuisine. But the food is good. Ordered some guli appa/ paniyaram, Idly with udin vada, set dosa and masala dosa.
Guliappa was good, Idly was average, the dosas were crispy and thin. I loved the chutneys, sambar and the sagu served along with set dosa.
Overall, this place is just about the ambiance.

I visited mg road for my personal work and accidentally discovered this beauty. A beautiful green sidewalk beside the cacophonous busy road. Follow the steps up and you will find yourself next to a wide forest with small cafes on other sides. Spending Sunday eves with setting sun and a glass of tea with vada is exactly how I will feel alive the next Monday.

Writing review on Dasaprakash was pending from long time. Finally, got a time to write today!
The Dasaprakash has its own charm and the concept of the restaurant is unique. This is one of the apt places for “Coffee & Conversations” along with some decent south Indian food. I have visited a couple of times and found decent when it comes to taste.

My first visit was like, I was standing in an Anil Kumble Circle and suddenly noticed a fancy board of “Dasaprakash”, I guess it was in the beginning of 2014 and decided to visit, but I was worrying about the parking. Somehow I made my mind and took a “U” turn and bumped in this Beautiful restaurant for a breakfast.

The Dasaprakash is located at one of the most attractive places - Rangoli Metro Art Center on the famed MG Road. The environment is unassuming and refined, and the overall atmosphere around peaceful. Since the place is half open and ventilated.

During both my visits, I never disappointed with any prospect.

Here are some of the dishes I tried during my visits

1. Masala Dosa – After seeing the dosa, I assumed that, this is a restaurant with an Influence of Tamilnadu. The Dosa here is Thin, non-crispy and light. Nevertheless, it goes well with Coconut Chutney, which is quite common in Tamilnadu.

2. Idly Vada – Somehow I dint find “Wow” factor with either Idly or Vada. Both were as usual, but I find Idly was bit hard.

3. Bisibelebath – One of the favorite dishes for every Kannadigas and very few restaurants in Bangalore does this dish authentically. Here it wasn’t authentic, but quite decent. Could have done better.

4. Capsicum Rings – I call it Capsicum Bajji, this was golden brown and crispy and tastes divine!

5. Filter Coffee – I wasn’t convinced much because, lack of flavor in it.

And yes, this is not a value for money restaurant because the dishes priced slightly Higher End.

Overall, I would recommend this Place!

A nice walk on MG Road boulevard leads you to this nice restaurant.

A word of caution - never visit on a summer afternoon. They dont have any fans or AC. The concept is "ventilated, half open place". It is therefore relying too much on cross ventilated air.

All their dishes and coffee are very good. I would not really suggest sandwiches though.

On a cool evening or a rainy day, this would be the place to dine. They have a lovely service and an interesting location by the boulevard. Most of the tiffins are delicious. Do try their samosas or Rava dosa.
I would have rated them 4 or 5, but the beverages need improvement desperately.

Happened to visit Rangoli Metro Art Center and spotted Dasaprakash for a quick bite. Ordered most commonly known south indian foodstuff - rava onion masala, paper masala, idly vada. Clean preparation, delicious food aa well as beverages. Warmly greeted by Mr. Rao, who offered us samples of Banana Dosa ( must try), Patral Dosa, Irish stew, Paddu, Mangalore Vada and Capsicum Rings served with Ginger Tamarind dip. We closed the sumptuous lunch by sipping Aam panna.

This place reminds you of European coffee very aptly place on boulevard on M G road. Less discovered by locals surprisingly. One of my friends took me there. After walking through the art walkways we reached to top of boulevard overlooking the green patch and alongside is this restaurant.

Ordered a masala dosa and uddina vada. Uddina vada is one of the best I have ever had served with 3 types of chutney. Same masala dosa was also very tasty. It's all served in arecanut plates and bowls.

Though a bit on higher end for South Indian breakfast , the whole placed turned beautiful when it rained. So totally worth it. A must visit.

This place gets a big five for its location. Right above M G road, sitting there like the pride of promenade and It gets quite pleasant in the evenings.
We tried the south Indian items and everything was good. They provide 3 chutneys - the red slightly imli one which I really liked, the coconut and the green spicy one. The capsicum rings were nice to munch on and the bisibele bath was authentic. I tried the mini idly which is a set of 8 really tiny idlis that will melt into the sambhar. Tasted great but not the best idea if you're hungry. What I loved the most was the sambhar. It was the perfect balance of sweet, spicy and a hint of sesame seeds. We got an extra bowl and had it like soup.
Enjoying the cool evening breeze we finished with a hot cup of chai. It's a nice outlet in a lovely place. Do try it out.

Location: M G Road (next to the metro station) bang opposite Au Bon Pain.

When my close friend told me that the Chennai-based restaurant Dasaprakash has a quaint outlet on M G Road bang opposite Au Bon Pain , the first memory that struck me was me indulging in a Dosa Marathon in my younger years at its Chennai outlet on Poonamalee High Road. 9 in total was the number of Dosas I consumed in a single meal. yes, that's right...9!!! It was heart-breaking to see the entire property in Chennai make way for yet another super-luxury Residential project. After all, Dasaprakash, Mathsya, Woodlands, Palmgrove, Ashoka, Rathna Cafe et al have been the torch bearers of great South Indian tiffin for the longest time and when it came to Dosas, Dasaprakash was probably the first among equals.

So without any further delay, and rubbing my hands in glee, we decided to visit the place on a hot summer night. The place bears no resemblance to its earlier avatars in Chennai. It is functional at best with more of a fast food set-up rather than an elaborate dine-in restaurant. given the location (en route the Metro station) I'm guessing they've adapted to the profile of people likely to visit the place.

We tried the following:

Masala Dosai: Delighted to say that it was as good as it has always been. This is the Tamil Nadu Style of Dosa. It is light, crisp and thin. The masala is spiced with mustard, green chillies, turmeric and asafoetida. Perfect flavouring. This is something I would go for repeatedly

Rava Dosai: Very homely in its appearance and taste, another winner but not as good as the Masala Dosai. I've had better.

Bread and Green Peas Masala: Now, this is something I have not had for the longest time and boy, I loved it...every bit of it. Green peas masala tossed with Onion, tomato, coriander and basic spices. It was absolutely delicious.

Another Dosai I took to was the Onion Patral Dosai. I'm not able to remember the eaxact ingredients but was tangy (tamarind) and had a nice touch of sweetness as well.

I drank 3-4 bowls of Sambhar. It's quite different from what you tradionally get in Chennai, which tends to be more on the spicy side. It is a tad sweet and the spice levels were perfect as was the the consistency (not thin at all).

So for all those who want to have some delicious South Indian breakfast, or early evening snacks, this is a great place to visit. I, for one, will be visiting again for sure. I need to break my record of 9 dosais smile emoticon

Stumbling across this place on MG Road felt like entering the Room of Requirement - I wanted a quick South Indian place, had a very NRI entourage and were on foot which made far off Church St/Residency Rd off limits.

This place is on the new and much hyped (deservedly I thought) promenade. The promenade itself is quite narrow, so the hotel has worked around this constraint by getting rid of walls altogether, and arranging tables in one long corridor. The openness of the restaurant allows for quite an interesting experience - you hear the daily trifles of walkers on the promenade, there's the chatter of the art center below,  and every once in a while, the muted drone of the metro above you.

Coming to business, we loved their Mangalore bajji and Guliappa along with the standard filter Kaapi. Selections from the dosa and idli sections were good too - but you expect more when you're in Bangalore.

It's total value for money too - Rs.30 coffee at that location is a steal, and is their USP.  Other items are somewhat reasonably priced too all things considered.

If you are meeting friends at MG Road looking for long meaningful conversations away from the noise and hustle bustle of a regular cafe, Dasaprakash is the place to go. Situated at the Metro Boulevard, the location is fantastic. One side are the greens of Carippa Gardens and other side the bright signage of shop fronts at MG road. Despite of it being an open air place and so close to greenery, i am yet to encounter any mosquito problems. The ambiance is simple and classy, and the general atmosphere around soothing.

I have been here many times, usually catching up with friends. We always start with Coffee (which is great for Rs.30/-) and Paddu (yummy small rice flour balls, priced at Rs.70/- ). A special word for the chutneys they serve as they are a delicious meal in themselves. The rava masala dosa is pretty good too.

But the highlight of the place for me will always be how calm and lovely it seems. yes, and Coffee.

Dasaprakash has got it right by being located in the right place, heart of Bangalore. Walking through the MG road Metro station boulevard lined with bougainvilleas and bamboo trees, gives you an amazing feeling before to step foot into the restaurant and the place does not disappoint you. The place has different sections, one with high chairs and the other with low seating. Loved the canopy which is white in color, and lot of light seeping through it. That's the beauty of this place. Coming to the food, loved the idli which was soft and was served with sambar and 3 types of chutney. Sambar was mildly spiced and was full of flavors. Moving to the dosa, it was not too crispy but was well cooked. The aloo masala was light and not too heavy. Filter coffee was perfect and service being the best. Enjoyed every moment of my breakfast at Dasaprakash @boulevard

Ambiance: A place with near perfect balance of nature, silence, chaos and great south Indian food. Its located on the sky walk, with MG road on one side and greenery on the other side. Perfect for two people(not just couples!) and great for a group of four! (Make sure you know parking lot beforehand!)

Food: I love food which is not too spicy, and DasaPrakash takes good care of this. Idli was soft and delicious, small Sambar Vadas with green and red tomato chutney is my favorite. Mr. NarayanDas (owner) offered us to try Samosas(without masala!) as compliment. It was stuffed with potato, turnip, raisins, peas, cashew and few more things. So, people out there who had to compromise against samosa, you should try it here. Dosa is great, with perfect Sambhar (less spicy yet more delicious)

Today we went to Dasaprakash again on MG Road ... We make it a point to grab a bite or two at this amazing restaurant no matter how full we are ! :-P ...and this place never fails to amaze ..obviously the first thing that strikes about Dasaprakash is the location. Sitting on one one of the elevated walkway in the midst of MG Road boulevard greenery you instantly drift away to a different world.. The service is impeccable and comes with a warm smile .. But the best thing about the place is still the food ! Masala Dosa , Idly , Paddu , Mangalore vada, Mysore vada , bisibeli bhat , rava idly we have tried everything in our last half a dozen trips ! This is undoubtedly one of the best south-indian food served in Bangalore. I specially liked the sambhar which tastes different in a good way . And no food is not complete without sipping that perfect cup of filter coffee while letting Bangalore breeze ruffle your hair . The place is awesome and provides perfect hangout at any time of a day. Today we also met affable owner Mr K. Narayan Das and were amazed by the passion and legend behind this chain which is 96 years old !

I always like coming back to this place over and over and over again and today i understood why .. :-) .. Hope we will get our own branch in Whitefield soon and scores of other places in Bangalore .. After all ! why should MG road have all the fun ?! ;-)

It was a great experience at Dasaprakash @ Boulevard MG Road. We ate Masala Rava Dosa and Guliyappa/paddu. They tasted very good including the delicious Sambar. The owner came to us introduced to us very humbly and softly. Very surprised and excited about his and his family dedication to the running of the restaurant. He offered us the new receipe samozas. They were too good. Couldn't stop eating. Very healthy receipe and tasty. We also had cofee which was one of the best we had ever had anywhere. The coffee and lime juice that we had tasted good too. Service was prompt and courteous. The seating could be better as it wasnt comfortable to sit on the high chairs. Go there if you want good South Indian food.

A wonderful location opportunity in the boulevard, overlooking the iconic MG Road on one side and interesting art displays on the other, Dasaprakash converts this opportunity to serve some very good food with warm service! Categorized into sections of high and regular garden-style metal chairs, the choice of green for the chairs and tables accentuates the joy a Bangalorean feels at getting his green space back on MG Road (after years of the Metro blockade).

Big, crispy, tasty, with a decent portion of potato masala - the Masala Dosa (Rs.80) was fantastic! A welcome choice trio of white, green, and red chutney accompanied it, and of course, sambar. The sambar is a tad sweet, Karnataka-style (and not Tamil Nadu-style spicy). Rava Idli (Rs.70) tasted great, surprisingly disintegrating with buttery softness (because it didn't look that way) in the mouth. It was well endowed - some grated carrot, peas, and generous cashewnuts - the last one much to my glee. It was accompanied by a sort of tomato-based vegetable gravy, the likes of which I have never come across for rava idli before (tasted good, though). The Paddus (Rs.70) were delectable - the mild crisp on the outside being the crowning glory. My folks had Idlis (Rs.60), Coffee, and Tea and were sufficiently happy with those. The Orange Juice (Rs.80) was okay - I usually like a bit of pulp but there was too much in this glass; could have used some filtering. The chutneys were the weak link - they seemed to be straight out of the fridge - while they tasted okay, they were actually quite cold (not room temperature, but 'cold'). Quite a downer considering the food was otherwise pretty good.

Despite the food being good, the prices are still higher than they should have been.

Special mention for the service - polite and cheerful. Also observed a few neighbouring tables where the customers seemed to be a bit rude; the waitress handled them effectively yet courteously.

Overall, Dasaprakash has excellent potential to become that nostalgic place, decades from now, where older people sit around a table as part of their by-then daily or weekly routine, and talk about how wonderful the 2010s were.

The MG Road Boulevard (officially called The Rangoli Metro Art Center) has been open for a couple of months and its only last weekend that I found the time to take a walk there. And chanced upon Dasaprakash, a beautiful South Indian eatery, with open kitchens and pretty iron seating. The feel is like being in a garden café, with Cubbon Park on one side. Dasaprakash is a popular chain that started in Chennai.

The restaurant offers a range of popular South Indian items including masala dosa, idlis, vada, bisibelle bhath, uttapam and much more. I was totally impressed that they open at 6 am with Idli, Pongal and Vada on the menu. Post 8 am, you can order from a wider spread.

I tried the masala dosa which came with 3 chutneys and sambar. The food seemed more Chennai style, but there were touches of Bangalore such as the sweet tinge to the sambar. Coffee was very good, reminding me of Coorg brews. The paddu (paniyaram) was yummy
soft, salty and warm from the pan.

Now Cubbon Park walkers have an affordable alternative to Indian Coffee House and Airlines Hotel. I am super happy with this place, while some of it is nostalgia for old Bangalore, a lot is also for the food. I do hope that they maintain the high quality of food and service.

A meal for two can cost anywhere from 200 to 400. Quick meal combos are priced at 150 and tea/coffee costs 30. Service is prompt.

It is the best place. In the evening during the sunset. Green trees, flowers and peaceful atmosphere on one side and busy traffic on the other side, with hot spicy and crispy food in front of you with your loved once with you, it is the perfect movement... lovely..

It is very relaxed place though on the busy mg road. We sat on the first level of the restaurant. The food is decent but it's more the place.

A little on the expensive side. Located in a great spot (hence the expensive price I guess). When I had gone recently, for a meeting, there was some music on MG Road and we found it very difficult to talk.
