Jay Jagannath. 56 bhoga is behind the Jagannath Temple, HSR layout. They serve typical odia snacks prepared without onion and garlic. I tried their dahibara aloodum guguni, bara, samosa, aloochop, chennapoda. Everything was nicely prepared. If you visit the temple then must go to this place to have your snacks.

Visited this place after someone recommendation to try their Sweets and Chats. Some of the items of this place are famous. This place is just outside Jagannath Temple at HSR.

* Rasgulla

* Chamcham

* Dahi Vada Chat

All 3 were great in taste. Loved till last bite.

Service is ok ok. They don't give attention to customers.
You have to say multiple times ..Then they take your order.

Overall good experience leaving service.

This a cozy outlet serving mouth watering Odia delicacies without onion and garlic. Sweets are not that great

Tip: Try samosa chaat which can be quite filling.

This is a place I know where Odia sweets, snacks and chat items are available.
Ambiance is not great but if you are looking for Food and only ODIA food then it's the place to be.
All Odia sweets, Badi, puffed rice etc are available. My favourite is Dahi bara aloo dum and bara googni (Vada and white peas curry) is a must have.

Since this place is right next to the Jagannath mandir, we happen to come here whenever we pay a visit to the temple. We usually go for takeaways or quick snacks.

The samosas are our favorites here, crunchy and tasty, typically made in a north Indian style. The filling consists of sliced potatoes and veggies instead of mashed potatoes. This adds a different kind of flavor to the samosas. :)

The sweets are good, I like the khajas and jamuns. The chena-poda tasted about ok, not so great.

Sweets... Really awesome, must try is chenapoda (i hope i am spelling it right) ...
Meals. Thali is jain kind, everything is plain and might taste dull. But food is good , quantity is good.
No seating, stand and eat.
Raiting for.sweets and food.

Very authentic sweets (awesome variety), Singada (Samosa), Guguni (Green Peas curry) .. and ... lots more.
I found the place to be quite hygenic...

Only unhappiness is .. why did they close their BTM 2nd stage branch permanently.. We have to come to HSR for authentic Odia sweets...

Keep up the good quality.

Being able to taste authentic odia sweet delicacies is a really good feeling. 56 Bhog totally mastered that part. A small outlet, no place to sit n dine, it's a kind of grab n go place. But totally value for money. You can get nice n hot Samosas, kachoris, Aalo chops (as we typically call in back home). Along with some real nice sweets form Eastern part of the country.

Finally odia style food joint in town I got. Situated just beside of famous Jagannath temple of Bangalore. They have tasty sweets almost all delicacies from Odisha and Bengal. Well, known for their uncompromised quality you may feel the rate is a little bit high but that is what don't want to compromise with the quality. You may find other foodstuffs here. But service is minimal and take away is the best option.

This post was long due and is going to be closest to my heart. When it comes to food, no doubt I am a die hard Odia. Like every Odia away from home, cravings do make their. way intermittently and life was all about just living with it, till I. stumbled onto '56 Bhoga Sweets' in Bangalore. I really want to dedicate this post to one of the King of Sweets -' Chhenapoda'. Born and brought up in Odisha, no one will believe that this lip-smacking dessert was merely a chance discovery. A confectioner, Sudarshana Sahoo, just happened to add some sugar and seasoning to left over cheese and may be obeying some divine omen, happened to put it in a warm oven. Rest is history. So basically, Cheese is referred to as Chhena and Roasted Cheese as Poda. You would have definitely had roasted Yogurt, but little chances of roasted cheese, that to roasted till the outer crust becomes hard and crisp golden brown. All in all the dessert looks like a cake, and in ideal case the inner layers of Cheese are so soft that they literally melt away. you are suggested to dig a bite so you retain a thick head of outer crust and a long soft tail of soft inner cheese. No matter how hard I try, the flavors need to get a chance to burst in your mouth for you to know, what you have missed till now, if you are not from Odisha.I think that Odisha specializes in a whole plethora of milk based desserts, Rasogolla not to be skipped among them. Though the battle is still on, over its inception, West Bengal or Odisha, if I am to be unbiased, I feel it has got to be Odisha. Any one who has tasted Bikalananda Kar Rasgolla all the way from Shalepur would agree with me. Another flagship brand is Pahala, which 56 Bhoga claims to replicate. I would say, it's hard to ditch someone who has experienced the original. But if this can be the closest you have access to in Bangalore, I am happy with it. Apart from this, you would also get to see Chhena jhili, Rasmalai (Odia Style) and so many other variants you can associate with if you have had some part of childhood spent in the Temple City.

The place also serves range of other Odia snacks and meals, typically made with that authentic touch. Cannot brag about each of it, because rest of appreciation was more about my sentiment than an impartial verdict from a food-blogger.

For me it was Nostalgia, for you it can be discovering whole range of 'Never had before' unique Indian Cheese journey. So Go for it!

Taste buds yell: Heaven never seen before!
Pocket shouts: Really easy
When I look around: Just a plain vanilla self-serve outlet
Waiting time for tummy: What's that!

Loved the chena podo and the chena goja. Had it after long time. These are 2 delicacies which are unique to odissa. These may not be as good as the ones in Cuttuck Dhenkanal belt, but definitely enjoyable in Bangalore.

It's a road side sweet shop next to Lord Jagannath temple in HSR layout. Will be visiting again to taste the snacks

I love their samosa and several times have landed there at 4pm just so that I can grab a few before they get over. Recently, they have opened up in Sarjapur Road and the Veg Thali at Rs 60/- is a steal. The ras malai is okay but the Chena Podo can be better or may be I am comparing with what you get in Bhubaneswar.  The rating is purely for the Veg Thali else it will be a 3.

My friend took me to this place.
It was crowded and a had a lot of hustle bustle. I had the chenna poda sweet and it was amazing. It was like a milk cake but way better than that, also the light burn on it made it delicious.
I had rabdi and aloo chat too. The chat was good and had lots of flavors in it. But the rabdi failed to catch up with others.

One of the best place for sweets and Snacks.
Prices are on a higher side.If you want to taste authentic odia sweets and snacks, do try this place.
We had a dinner meal today as well and it was definitely the best homemade vegeterian odia food.
The curries were prepared without onion and garlic.
There is no place for seating, so either you have to stand and eat or you can always ask for take aways.
Must Try :-
1. RABDI
2.RASMALAI
3.RASSAGOLA
4.GULAB JAMUN
5.MIXTURE
6.CHATS
Food - 4/5
Ambience - 3 /5
Service - 3/5

It is a small shop that smells, tastes and feels nothing but mini Odisha! Our favorite has to be the Odian style samosa aka the Singhara which has small pieces of potato and not the usual smashed potatoes with a nice mix of masalas. Do try Jaan of Odian street food, Dahi Bara Aloo Dum. The chilled dahi bara topped with slightly hot aloo curry on top. It is heavy, delicious, tempting and what not. The wada was extremely soft. No efforts taken in chewing. Haha. And do leave some space for sweets because there's a huge display of varity of these and you can enjoy as many as possible until you have the capacity. Chenpoda and kala jamun here are must try again.

I would really recommend this place for quick bites and snacks. Odia food lovers must go. Food without onion garlic with such a taste is commendable. Located near to one and only Jagannath temple at Bangalore makes it more famous. Spicy Mixtures and Other foods are at their best.

56Bhoga Sweets and snacks is an Iconic place for all Odias in Bengaluru. This goes without saying as the options for odia street food, snacks and sweets is very limited here in Bengaluru and for the same reason whatever may be the price or scenario, odia people here like to visit this place for the food and snacks. I had the malpua, steam cake, kakera, bara Ghughuni, samosa, gur rasgola, mixtures, namkeen etc etc. All are delicious, fresh looking and good too. Also, recently I tried the Dahi Vada aloo dum and it was spicy and yummy. Prices are little on the higher side considering the cleanliness and the overall service, but taste balances it. Please get here by 5.30pm evening to enjoy freshly fried snacks with Aloo dum and white peas curry. Also the packaged items are fresh in certain days and the location is behind to Jagannath Temple, Agara, HSR Layout. Recommended place.

If you like a taste of Odisha then this is a must visit shop for sweets and savouries. They are located behind the Jagannatha Temple in Agara. True to the Krishna followers' practice, they don't use onion or garlic; but still make a very tasty samosa. Sweets are a bit too sweet though for me.

A small sweet and chat shop at the end of 24th main road. It serves mainly Odia and Bengali sweets. Their Dahi wada is awesome. It is served in a leaf bowl. Wada would be dipped in a watery curd liquid. They would mix little chhole and aloo dum and garnish with sev. Other chats are aloo chaat, samosa and kachori chaat. In the sweet counter, you have all kind of chena mithai, sandesh etc. This is the only shop in Bangalore that i know who serves chena poda, the GM tag sweet from Odisha. If you know any other, put in comments and i will visit them.

This place is a heaven for odia palettes craving for odia snacks and desserts in bangalore. Jagannath Swamy Darshan followed by munching on Odia sweets is a deadly combination. Their sweets doesn't taste exactly like odisha ones but still a sort of okish. Bara, singada and gugguni is an authentic dish which reminds my past in Odisha. Great place to enjoy some odia snacks.

For someone from Eastern India this place is a blessing in true form. You can find pure and good quality chenna sweets, snacks and savouries at a very reasonable price. The taste and quality is something you won't forget and the location is best with a busy street on the other side and Lord Jaganath temple on the behind. It's the place for you if you want to satiate your cravings for chenna jhilli, dahibara aloodum, bara, singhida, aloochip, ghooghuni, chat, chennapoda, mixture and much more.

If you are odia and you are in Bangalore, you must visit this shop. You will find odisha taste here in bengaluru. Prices are little high, but compared to other sweet shops in Bangalore, its less. Especially chhenapodo;which is my fav; the taste is same as in odisha Must try veg meal (sat-sun, there will be special meal ; 2 extra items are added than other weekdays). Taste is purely home-food taste. We often go there to eat bara-ghuguni which is one of the most eaten snack/breakfast in odisha.

Best place to have Pheni, Chennapod and Pahala Rasagulla, Chuda Mixture is the best. Whenever I visit Agara, visiting 56 bhoga is must, I have taken my non-odiya friends and colleagues to have sweets and snacks, they loved it. Morning if you go, you can have veg breakfast and in afternoon sometimes Sada lunch thali is available. They deliver through Swiggy as well. I ordered Pheni on Rojo and sweets delivered were well packed and fresh.
