Ambience: Those who enjoy the old Vintage vibes would absolutely fall in love with the simplicity of this place, people and the menu Food: Basic Tiffin menu with all the staples are served here. Enjoy Service: Quick service although there is a “We do not have quick service” board out there. Price: Value for money with an added bonus of the old world charm of this place.

Had heard of this place a lot so wanted to check it out. The dose,Vada and coffee were very good but chutney and sambar were very sad. The service was very bad and waiter was not in a mood to serve!

One of the very few places which give an amazing feeling of the yesteryear Namma Bengaluru. Great place for breakfast for small groups. Finding a table for one big group together will be difficult. So plan accordingly.

I wanted to try this place for a long long time and finally ate here. Kali dose was very nice and usually it comes with sambar. However, we took the dose with sagu which is extra and we wanted to try the dose. I enjoyed it completely and it was at the same level as Sanman Kali dose. Idli vade sambar was mind-blowing as well as reve vade which was on the same level as Vidyarthi Bhavan. Paulo and raitha tasted like home made which was mouth watering. The kesari bath was ok ok and the tea was decent. The place is also meant for coffee. Overall a wonderful experience and enjoyed the food. They have kept the retro ambiance which is very much appreciated. Thank you.

It’s a small vintage tiffin place at the corner of the road in Gandhi Baazar. They have coffees, rava wada, bondas, carrot halwa, jamun etc. All are moderately priced & descent portion size. Tastes awesome too!! Tried the coffee, rava wada, idli sambar, carrot halwa and jamoon, they were really yummy! The sambar is really yummy. Nice place for a quick catch up to the old vintage vibes. Also their portion sizes are for 1 person each plate. Ambience -4.5/5 Service-5/5 Value for money-5/5 Food-4.5/5 Taste-5/5

MLTR – Review One of the very old restaurants situated in Gandhi Bazaar. Absolute nostalgia, giving the old Bangalore vibe with the wooden furniture. Service is a bit slow, as they do not serve in a rush. Visited this place for Breakfast, following are the items ordered and my take on the same. Idli – Super soft goes will with Sambar Vada Sambar – Excellent, highlight is the taste of Sambar Khara Bath – Good, but nothing great, strangely peanuts were found Kesari Bath – I did not like it, the texture & taste was ok Carrot Halwa – Not good, repented for taking this Masala Dosa – Great served with Coconut chutney Sagu Masala Dosa – Excellent, served with Butter on the top & Coconut chutney So, the highlight for me was the Sagu Dosa, Vada Sambar and of course the Chutney.

MAHALAXMI TIFFIN ROOM DVG Road, Gandhi Bazaar, Basavanagudi, Bengaluru, Karnataka 560004 This place is 98 years old. Wanna see how was old school Bengaluru then u should definitely check out this place. There r very few places like this which hold the old school charm of Bengaluru. The menu is simple and consistent, with just a handful of items in the menu this place is gonna touch 100 years soon. Consistency is the key and 3 generations are present at the place one looking after the billing and the other for the service and the young lad is learning the business operations, when u hav such commitment then ur definitely ranked one of the iconic places in Bengaluru. Simple Khali dosa , masla dosa , idli and Vada and the super filter coffee ❤️. Definitely must try place Note : It's mostly crowded so plan accordingly. Taste - 😍 Service - ❤️ Ambience - 👌 (Old Bangalore vibes) Value for money - 👏 (Very budget friendly) Overall - 4.8/5 ⭐ ❤️❤️❤️

One of the old school eatery in the city. Not much of ambience and no self-service is available. Popular menu items: Idli-Vada, Masala dose, Khali dose, coffee.

The ambience and environment feels like we are in 80's or 90's.. seating and service is available. Food is as good as it can be. But the timings need to be extended as it shuts down too early in night.

Being born and bought up in Bangalore and eaten in most of the older eateries I am not sure how I missed this place. One must try their Benne Masala dosa - nice and crisp with the right blend of the aloo masala, The poori was also a good bet with the sagoo made the traditional way. I did try their idli vada and upma which tasted slightly in the average side.. the coffee had a perfect froth and looked strong when I poured in the small tumbler but the taste was just apt - one of the best coffee I have had I Bangalore. Ambience was traditional and definitely reminds you of old Bangalore days. It is light on the pocket and a must visit. KB

Legendary place in the area. Initial plan was to head to Vidyarthi Bhavan but looking at the crowd and seat queuing, we went in to this equally nice eatery. Old world charm is clearly reflected here with the tables, set up and ambience. Humble staff. Tried the idly Vada, sagu dosa and poori. Poori was non oily and nice, sagu was perfect, crispy Vada and carrot halwa was the icing in the cake washing it all down with coffee ! Gandhi bazaar road is closed for repairs and upgrade and parking is a mess especially for 4 wheelers.

One of the best eateries to try out authentic South Indian vegetarian food in Bengaluru. The ambience gives you a feel of the hotels you might have seen in old kannada movies 🤩 We tried Masala dosa, Uddin vade and coffee. Dosa had a good amount of potato masala and was fresh and delicious. Vada was good in size and crispy! Service might be slow, but it gives you time to enjoy the ambience :) Definitely worth visiting again and again!

One of the oldest eateries established in the early 90s in Namma Bangalore.Best place to savour some authentic South Indian foods. Be it the unique Khali dosa or the snacks or the yummy Carrot Halwa, all the items in their limited menu makes it worth trying out. Taste wise no comparison to any other eateries. Small and cozy place always packed with food lovers. The prices are nominal. The staff is friendly!! Would definitely visit this place again and recommend others to try Dosas here.
