KC Das in MG Road is an iconic Mithai shop which for decades has attempted to delight Bangaloreans with the best mithai that Calcutta has to offer. Must try items include Luchi - Aloo Dum, Green Peas Kachori as well as the famous Malpua! Something to improve on would definitely be levels of hygiene which has fallen over the years and needs a step up.

We stopped at this place because my mum has fond memories of K.C. Das's Bengali sweets from the time that she lived in Bangalore years ago. Revisiting memories meant that I got to taste some lightly sweetened and absolutely delicious mishti doi. In addition, I had their fabulous rasmalai, which was a revelation in its sweetness and fluffiness. The Irani Delight is another good try.

The only reason I have taken off a star is for their Turkish Delight, which is overtly sweet and does not really resemble the Turkish Delight from Turkey.

But for their Bengali sweets, would recommend!

Known for being the founder fathers of Rosogolla. A sweet that conquers platters of the world. 1868 marked the accidental introduction of Rosogolla by Nabin Chandra Das. And his son and flag bearer Krishna Chandra Das took this confectionery history to next level making it famous in UK US and lot of other places. This store in MG road embarks the sweet history of its founders. Recently going on a revamp they've changed the entire look and feel. Regarding it's always best..Hing kachori being personal favourite. And rosomalai n malpua are other few extraordinary dishes.. very low pocket pinch and very fulfilling bringing you the joy of Kolkata on your platter. Cheers!!

I am not really a 'sweet' person however the few that I like are all found at this place. I was here again a few days back to indulge in some saccharine goodness when I thought of trying their luchi. I fell in love with the luchi and the dal that comes along with it. Did not like the alu sabji that came with it too much.
The luchi was quite filling so I couldn't eat the paneer chops and samosa as I had intended. I guess I LL just have to return soon for them.

I love their products particularly, Rabri, Sondesh, Roshogolla and Nimki and do buy them during festive and other occasions. But one should always visit the outlet on St. Marks road as this is the main branch and you get the choicest and freshest of all items. Wish their Nimkis were as fresh as their sweet products. On certain occasions I felt the Nimkis were few days old.

This is my most favorite sweet shop n restaurant whole India! And only for one reason : Rosogolla! It is super mouth watery and marvelously heavenly. I 1st had experience to visit KC Das with my father at its head quarter in Splanede, Calcutta. From then, it has become my favorite. Other special items to must have is mishti doi, mango mishti doi, chamcham, rosomanguri, chitrokut and luchi. I am sure other sweets are also very delicious which I will certainly try on my next visit.

This particular outlet is quite popular among the Bengali community in Bangalore. I had often tasted the sweets from this outlet indirectly, but didn't quite get the chance to visit it. So after many cancelled dates, I finally landed myself here yesterday morning. The entire ambiance, even though very much modernized, reminded me a lot of Kolkata sweet shops. The staffs are never idle, constantly serving customers, either packing away kgs of sweets or serving the dine-in customers at their tables. The most surprising part for me was that, none of the staffs there were Bengali, but they all understood the language clearly. All of them were very polite and courteous, especially the owner !She was super friendly and explained to me that working here over the years, all of the staffs have learnt the language and  can communicate with ease. She also told me that they have special get-together for all the Bengalis in Bangalore twice a year. I really don't understand why people in the reviews are complaining about their behavior...Anyway, coming to the food! Since I had already tasted many of their sweet items ( which are amaziiiing btw), I decided to try out their savoury items, namely, their "Paneer chop" and "Alu puri".
First the chop: perfect kolkata style chop, crispy exterior with delicious inner fillings, accompanied by the sweet and spicy chutneys, but lacks the spice level... overall, a must try item for people who doesn't mind the low spice level.Next, the Alu Puri: HUGE size puris, accompanied by cholar daal, and aloor dum, Soooo damn delicious that you don't wanna stop eating ! Although, the spice level could be increased here too, but then again its a matter of personal taste. And to finish it all.... yummy Roshogollas... A classic kolkata breakfast done right !
Totally worth visiting this place again....

Been here twice. You can get many authentic Bengali sweets at well, a bit high price. But not too much pull on pocket. Malpoa is not that tasty, but they pass with flying colours on Kesar Chamcham, vegetable chop and Kesar peda. Overall, a good place for sweet lovers.

My luchi , cholar daal and alur dom❣️ This is one of those don’t-screw-it-up or I’ll shoot you kinda dishes. Get too sentimental eating Bengali food 😢
But without the drama though, my mommy’s are wayyy better. This could be a desperate measure but nothing close to the one at home - I say this to all my Bangla bondhugon. #luchi #aloodum #choladaal #kcdas

Have been meaning to try the Goodies since a long time. Veg Chop was excellent filled with beetroots and mixed veggies, beautifully crumbed and deep fried served with a tasty tangy tamarind chutney. Also packed some Kshir Kadam and raasbhaari. Perfect sweet, loved the place and the old charm except the rude waiters etc and are totally not helpful.

Ever since Church Street turned into a scene from Armageddon (circa 2016), getting to KC Das' entrance requires a hop, skip and now, even a jump. Once inside, you'll forget your problems when your eyes fall on the sweet counter. I don't have a sweet tooth (4 root canals will back my claim), but go weak kneed when I see KC Das' rossogolla. I'd go as far to say that they are the best in the world! It's one of those things I recommend to visitors to Bangalore. Visit the Church street outlet, have a couple of rossogollas, a plate of aloo poori and you have had a Bangalorean experience! I'm sure the rest of their sweets and savouries are good, but I'm sold on the aloo poori and white pieces of heaven (sans sugar syrup of course).

Definitely way higher than other sweets shop in bangalore but taste wise also they are far better than their competitors.

KC Das is a prominent sweet house in Bangalore and has been there since decades.
It's primarily known for its Bengali sweets.
I'd recommend Kshir Kadam, Ras Kadam and Mishti Dahi.
They also have a few diet mithais catering to the health conscious crowd.

Recommended by a friend decided a lunch at this place, Although there isnt much option for lunch items the Luchi is pretty damn filling and cheap as hell. We also got to try Kshir kadam which is basically tastes like rossogulla covered with peda , amusing but delicious. Sweet Curd is a good dessert for the summer.

One of my favourite places in Bangalore for Misti Doi. Though I'm not an expert in Bengali cuisine, their luchi Puri tasted amazing!!

You know as a bong staying outside his city, you get these cravings. Cravings for Kachuri Cholar Daal, Alur dom, cravings for those lovely rosogollas. Where do you go when you have that. You head to your nearest branch of KC Das. Located in the uptown busting strrets of MG road, church road crossing this place has a small seating arrangement and the front end counter has the typical "Mistanno Bhandar" look to it. The food is good, not excellent to be honest but they serve food that reminds you of home, so I am not complaining.  The last few times i have visited i have missed out on the Hing and Koraishuti Kachuri and had to settle for a luchi instead, which was  disappointing. The sweets are pretty good too but again nothing extra-ordinary. Average service which can be a lot better.

So I visited K.C. Das place after hearing a lot about it.
Went around 12:15 in the noon and still the place has quiet some crowd. I ordered the Luchi Poori , Aloo Poori and my friend ordered their Rossomalai and the Sondesh.
The sweets I.e. Rasmalai and Sondesh were very good , but on the front of Luchi Poori and Aloo Poori , I wasn't very impressed , the primary reason being that the gravy served along with it came around to be extremely sweet. Now I know that the gravy has to be sweet , but here it was beyond a specific level and all the other flavours in it were being cornered and covered by the sweetness. But , the Poori and luchi were very impressive and authentic.
The place is nice , adequate seating facilities available, service is good and I would definitely visit K.C. Das to try the other varieties of sweets and also their other dishes .

Not a big fan of sweets of this kind,  I found myself here to satisfy the sweet cravings of a friend.

The place used to look better maintained especially the outside but that probably is not in their hands.

I used to visit this particular outlet as they were the only one which had a supply of Cham Cham's which were my aunts favourite.

This particular visit we ordered for Jamoon, Rasmalancha, Rasmadhuri and Chamcham. Their Chamcham is best I have tasted yet. The jamoon was also very good. The other 2 - Rasmalancha and Rasmanjuri were a first for me and I really liked the Rasamanjari.

They also have some quick eats such as Samosa, Paneer chops etc.

Being from the North East - this place is one of my favorites in Bangalore. Always reminds me of home :)

The sweets are made fresh, the snacks (Samosas, Chops etc.) have the authentic Bengali taste and obviously - Mishti Doi (Sweet Curd) is the clear winner. You may leave the rest but must try Mishti Doi here - it's heavenly!!

Me and my friend were wandering about MG Road last Sunday and dropped in here to grab (2 persons):

Mishti Doi (Sweet Curd) -  0.5 kgs
Samosa (Singara) - 2 nos.
Vegetable Chop - 2 nos.
Kesar Malai Chamcham - 2 nos.
Ras Madhuri - 2 nos.

It costed us a total of ~Rs.335/- (inclusive everything) and trust me, our dessert post dinner was a delight for the next 2 days. The samosas were extremely fresh and felt very light (as they were non oily) and the chop was good too!

I have been to their Indiranagar outlet, but this MG Road outlet has a great feel to it.. Surely drop in to have a bite of Bengal and do try the sweet curd, whenever you are in MG Road :)

KC Das was erstwhile known for a mark of Bengali Sweets. Well, it has digressed a lot from that definition with so many better joints serving Bengali sweets. But however its still not bad. Located at the intersection of Church Street, amidst jostling eateries, this is one of the oldest KC das outlet in Bangalore and oldest in the area. Head here for excellent Radhaballavi and sabji or Poori sabji offered at an economical price.
Hing Kachori and Misti Doi is also a delectable try here. And wait for surprise, try out Turkish delight and Iranian Delight- they are mind blowing here.
