Amazing place for good japanese food. We ordered sushi of almost all variety, prawn tempura, ramen and chicken katsu curry. And every food item was delicious and authentic to uts best. I even found this place pocket friendly when it comes to sushi compared to the other over expensive places.
Had a wonderful experience at this place tonight. The preparation of all 3 dishes that we ordered was exquisite both in terms of taste and presentation. I know for sure that I'll be coming back here again and again.
But at the same time I was saddened to see that even though all the other places in the street were full this place was completely empty during the 1hour I was in the restaurant. And that too considering the fact that CrossTownJapan has a better value proposition and bang for buck than most of the other places. The management really needs to improve the signs present at the street level to drive traffic to the restaurant as well as improve their social media presence significantly. Being from a marketing background I can speak from personal experience that just a little bit of spend on these things can easily triple or quadruple the revenue from this place.
I wasn't sure what to expect from Japanese good going into Crosstown Japan for dinner, but I needn't have worried.
We ordered a Seafood Ramen, a Chicken Katsu Donburi for the main course and both were excellent. The quantity was also sufficient for one.
I love ramen, and so I'm going to keep the ramen review short. It was good. Very good. You can go in hungry, have this ramen and be full and happy. The end.
The Donburi is a serving of chicken fried with something that resembles bread crumbs tossed around with egg a-la egg-burji over a layer of rice.. Now I'm not your person for certifying authenticity of this preparation - I mean I'm having japanese food for the first time in my life (except Ramen) but what I can certify for sure is that both dishes were uniquely flavourful and the Donburi especially has a flavor that was like nothing I have ever had before (in a very good way). The garnishing is Japanese seaweed (I think) and it too had a very unique fishy flavor. Really good.
Since it's not everyday that you go have Japanese food, we also ordered the Takoyaki and Matcha Jelly. I didn't like the match jelly all that much - but that's no surprise since I am not a big fan of the green tea taste. So that's on me, and not on the chef. I'm trying to describe the Takoyaki and words fail me because it's quite unlike anything I can compare it to... It's 4 balls of the size about halfway between tennis and ping-pong balls. That's the shell which encases something within. I have no real idea of what they are made of but it's supposed to have octopus/squid and it was quite a unique (but mild) flavor of its own.
Had a small chat with the owner when were about to leave, and he seems knowledgeable and enthusiastic about it all. He mentioned that they were open for about 3 years, but curiously I have only recently noticed this restaurant though I have been walking these roads for over a year now.
Some may consider the menu to be on the pricier side, but I think it's justified for a place that serves food that's out of the ordinary. There's probably just shipping/supply costs that cannot be amortised with volume.
In all, I think it was worth 5 stars.
One of the best experiences I have had with Oriental cuisine in Bangalore. Balanced flavours all around with that neat and quaint Japanese bistro vibe. We had sashimi, tonkatsu, ramen, California rolls, miso soup and all the desserts on the menu. Definitely going there again.
Never had a bad meal hear!! Every experience is top notch. Best value for money Japanese meal in blr by miles. My favourite is the tonkotsu ramen and okonomiaki.
Berly brings flavour and thought into the food he creates. The sushi, Ramen and Udon was to die for! Desert so delicate and absolutely yum!
Have to recommend both the place the food and chatting with the owner!
Pretty Standard Ambiance. Nothing exciting. They welcome you in Japanese
Jumping on to food, I really loved the Pork Skewers and The Tempura Prawns.
Sushi was on the average side. Okayish to be precise.
Quite disappointed by the Okonomiyaki. Or it must be taste preference but not to my liking for sure.
I recommend going there.
Very cute and cozy place. If you are in search of authentic Japanese food this is a place to visit. Restaurant is located in Kalyan Nagar, very accessible. Did not have to wait much to get the order. Shrimp tempura was good, Sushu combo is 👌🏻*must try if u like raw fish meat*. More than sufficient for a single person. Ambience is good and from the look doesn’t seems to be fancy but the place speaks for itself.
A must try place in Bengaluru and highly recommended. 🫰🏻
Japanese fans assemble! Crosstown Japan is the perfect place to have your Japanese cuisine! The sushi, ramen, firecracker fried rice and everything else is just top notch! Prices are also reasonable. Will definitely recommend this to people who would like to come here causally for a lunch or dinner.
Great place to experience good Japanese food. I wish they had more tables ☺️
We visited them for lunch. Our order included a sushi and curry rice. Sushi was excellent. Curry started of well but felt average as we dug in. They have a nice menu and we plan to visit them again.
Parking: this can be an issue as the road has many restaurants and finding a walkable parking can be an issue sometimes.
Pleasantly surprised!! Authentic, fresh Japanese food. Quirky ambience and friendly staff. It's so refreshing to see them greet you in Japanese. Had a short chat with the owner, a very nice person, who knows his craft well.. A must try in Kalyan nagar.
Really amazing place. Everything has a reasonable price.Ramen was well cooked and broth was great!
Food was amazing here, ambience was very good, Mr.Burlee was very sweet with us and we got very very fresh and hot food served on the table.

The best authentic Japanese food in town. if you are a fan of sushi and sashimi don't forget to try with some extra wasabi to spice up 😋
It looks like they changed their location. We initially could not find it on the map. Updated the location right after.
The first thing you notice as you enter is the beautifully arranged seating. I think the corner tables and seats can be utilised better but it's not a worry.
The staff are helpful and definitely worth asking them about the menu and the items if you are confused.
We ordered the salmon and tuna maki combo, the chicken katsu curry and the hakata pork ramen. To say it was good is an understatement. The flavours and umami was astonishing. Another thing worth mentioning is the soy sauce with the maki rolls. It's rare that restaurants in Bangalore serve a balanced soy sauce. This places definitely have it.
We couldn't fit the desserts into our bellies. Keeping that for our next visit.

I don't know where to start. The food was amazing and the owner is just simply awesome. We went there to celebrate our anniversary. My wife was craving sushi after she gave birth to our daughter. Now that our baby is one month old we decided to go out to to celebrate our anniversary. My friend recommended this place. The staff were very attentive and the food was on point. They don't usually serve dessert but the owner got us a cake to celebrate our anniversary and that really made me happy. This is what true hospitality is about. My favourite was the hand rolled Tuna with spring onions and their seafood soup. The prices were very reasonable too.
