My favourite place during my 2 months in India and Nepal. The food is tasty, healthy and comes in good portions. I highly recommend the Buddha bowls, particularly the honey glazed tofu one and also the Tibetan noodle / dumpling soups. The ginger lemon honey tea is also perfect. I really enjoyed the homemade cake and deserts too. Pema and Detchen are amazing hosts and I really enjoyed chatting and playing board games with them. Looking forward to coming back here again!

If you are looking for clean and tasty food- this is the place. Everything made with love by the Tibetan mother who cooks to perfection. Real tibetan home food with some other options on the menu. I highly recommend and would definitely go again and again.

I had several wonderful experiences at the Beetroot Cafe in Upper Bhagsu. The delicious food, generous portions, and thoughtful pricing for vegan options (although at times I noticed she did not label some items as vegan, like a sandwich I had on a day special) truly reflect her values of inclusivity and affordability. I highly recommend trying out their desserts, Buddha bowls, soups, Thenthuk, homemade breads, sandwiches, and chai. Additionally, I had the opportunity to attend a momo cooking class, which was not only enjoyable but also provided insight into the warm and loving atmosphere created by Pema and her mother as they manage the restaurant. The location has views of nature, and the soothing sounds of a nearby waterfall add to the charm of the place. As I conversed with them daily, I was deeply impressed by her genuine recommendation for me to try another place to eat. This gesture truly showcases her open-mindedness, collaborative spirit, and commitment to ensuring her customers have the best dining experience possible. It's a testament to her exceptional values and willingness to go the extra mile. Also not charging more for soy milk chai.

Other than the great food in the restaurant, I had an amazing cooking class! Learned how to make delicious Momos and about the Tibetan culture by Pema and her lovely mother in an affordable price. Highly recommended to anyone who visits Bhagsu

If you’re looking for some tasty desserts you’re in luck, because this is the place. Plus, they always have new things so it’s not just the same desserts everyday. The soups are also excellent.

Nice vegan cakes and good vibes. The owners here are very sweet and kind. They take great pride in their creations. Would recommend not allowing guests to smoke in the dining area, it really hurts the energy.

Pema is just something else. Her warm welcome always puts a smile on your face, and obviously her dogs are a big part of the experience, being referred to by Pema as her babies. If you're searching for good food, good people and cute and friendly dogs, this place would be just perfect, morning, noon and night.
