Sometimes I eat non veg thali....its really good...I affordable price..also veg thali are good
Great place for oriya cuisines...Located near Aakash coaching it is at suitable distance from the residential colonies nearby..Few cuisines will definitely win you over
My journey of being a foodie began here ... in this restaurant of Bhubaneswar. It was back then in 2015 when I dined here. Not much of the menu that I remember till date but the only thing that I can assure you that this restaurant will leave you as a person who praises the intricacies of eating and dining.
Ideality - 9/10

Serves authentic Odia dishes. Pakhala Combo is a must try item here. Though its a bit costly affair its still worth it. Must try for odia cuisine lovers.
As it is a well known place for fine dining, having quite smooth management and cool place to attract people. I ordered a special veg thali this time . These contains numbers of food items, alot of stuffs are there.. extremely well prepared , fine in taste and love to eat.. so overall a it's a cool experience ..
Amazing place with wide range of food. Ordered Veg Thali which was awesome and also ordered Bamboo Mutton which was mouth-watering. The taste and the use of spices was very accurate. Service was a but slow yet cordial. Will definitely try other items there.
Best thing about thisrestaurant is its customer service is awesome, cleanliness is high here.taste is average and price should be lowered.but overall good.
I had heard so much of Dalma that I didn't wish to miss out on the opportunity to savour few of the local dishes while I was visiting Bhubaneswar. Being a tad late for lunch, I ordered steamed rice, dalma and rohu cooked in mustard curry.
Quantity of rice is more than sufficient for 1. The dalma was ok as I didn't have any reference point to compare. The killer was the rohu fish cooked in mustard curry. Amazing taste.
At 2.45 pm the restaurant was very busy which made it amply clear that most of the dishes are fresh from oven.
Team Dalma- keep it up. Will surely try the mutton in bamboo next time.
Missing home go to Dalma.
Missing home food: Dalma
Want to eat full but healthy: Dalma.
I ordered the simple veg meal and it tasted bliss.
Honestly, you won't feel heavy even after eating 9 items they serve you. And you will be satisfied your tummy will be happy and what else do you want. It's simply amazing. Even the packaging of the food was wonderful.
I wanted to rate it 6 stars. But alas! There's only 5π.
GOOD RESTAURANT BUT PRICE QUALITY IS TOO HIGH . QUANTITY IS LESS BUT FOOD ITEMS IS GOOD AND FRESH.GOOD PREPARATION AND PLEASE LOWER THE PRICE.
Good place for pakhala thali on a hot summer day with badi chura and assorted types of offerings the restaurant has to offer.
Lunch time is crowded.
My friend and I came here for taken a lunch on yesterday and we were very much satisfied. The service was impeccable and the food was beautiful. Excellent food, excellent drink, fantastic staff/customer service and an excellent manager running the show. Definitely worth many more visits in the future..We were made to feel welcome and our meal was very reasonably priced. Before we had even finished our meal we were planning the next time we would eat here!ππ
A decent pocket friendly place for having good odiya style thalis and meals. The non-veg thalis are the eye of attraction. Ambience is decent, nothing wow. A good place for a quick lunch. The food preparation is home style and thats good.
But rate is little bit high and khiri was worst
Except mutton all are nice
Awesome quality of food and Clean and hygenic place . They serve proper authentic Odia Food .
Must try - Mutton Thali and Prawn and Onion Fry .
Their food are priced a bit on the costlier side .
Awesome quality of food, average interiors, staffs are good too only the traffic is too much resulting in little degradation in their customer service.

Best place for authentic Odiya food...Must go for Chicken thali or Mutton thali..which is a complete package of different Odiya dishes..which makes your lunch complete......ππππππ...
Authentic odiya food served in ur platter...luv the mutton kasa platter....one of fav place when I want to enjoy my odiya food...apart from thali they also have single dishes too..
Was in Bhubaneshwar for a couple of days..this place serves good Oriya dishes which is very similar to Bengali food..their Thali is good and feels like home cooked food.Overall a good and clean place.
I was here for a very special one day trip. I had done a lot of research on which restaurant to head to for authentic Oriya food and fortunately I had picked this one. From the airport we headed straight to this place to satiate our hunger pangs. Since me and my partner wanted to try maximum dishes we ordered for 4- one chicken, one crab, one meat and dalma . We were having crab for the first time and embarrassingly we had to ask our server how to break it and what portions to eat. He was very polite and helped us.
Now coming to the dishes , dalma which is a signature Oriya dish which is actually a sort of a dal didnβt appeal to our tastebuds that much. But the other 3 dishes were yummy specially the mutton and the crab. They provide tawa rotis which are fresh and light. Overall the food was also fresh. I would surely recommend this restaurant to anyone who is visiting bhubaneshwar for the first time. Unfortunately I forgot to take photos of my food because I was so busy eating π. -with Abhishek Sethi
(A word of caution: judging on basis of food I would give it around 3.5-4 stars but the 5 stars that I have given was because of the overall special experience)
Visited this place during my Bhubaneswar office trip. Had lunch in this place for two days.
Day 1. Ordered one veg thali and one bamboo mutton. Veg thali was very good, there was rice, dalma, alu chokha, two veg, chatney, papad and kheer. But bamboo mutton was not at all upto the mark.
Day 2. Ordered mutton thali. In mutton thali there was rice, dalma, alu chokha and mutton. Mutton was very good both quantity and quality wise.
A worth visit to this place...
authentic odia cuisine. we almost ordered every specific odia dishes starting from prawn dalma, badi chura, besara etc. All are delicious. it was a somptous lunch for me and my family. I would recommend dalma team to work on more odia cuisine like santula, khatta etc.
One of the the most authentic oriya cuisine restaurant in bhubaneswar. Hygiene and foods are very great in taste. Best part is the "Thali" they serve. Must try once.
Typical Odiya cuisine; the prawn and fish are good. Dalma (lentils cooked with veg), is a must!
Ambience is okay! Service is fast as more or less the cuisine is defined!
Awesome place to taste authentic Oriya cuisines. The prices are reasonable with very good variety. The food is cooked in a homely manner and is light on your stomach. Had the Bansh Pora Mutton which was great. But the hygiene of the place needs to be improved as we saw flies on the table.
A friend in Bangalore & originally from Bhubaneshwar had told me, "If your not able to eat a local meal in a house, don't bother just go to dalma." So that's exactly what i did.
Wrapped up my work & left for dinner. In fact it was at a walkable distance from my hotel in "Unit Chaar". Having odisha's local food for the first time, i asked the guy waiting my table - Prakash, to not surprise me but gimme the best of everything that odishi cuisine has to offer & he took it from there. Kudos to him for the real attention he took care of.
Food - 3.5/5
Ambiance - 3/5
Service - 4/5
Will i visit again? Yes.
I am crazy about the traditional food which is local to the place.
Travel foodie inside me ended up here at Dalma.
The food is rich in purity & natural.
I tried -
Chattu (Straw mushroom) Rai (Mustard gravy)
Is the must for all the fungi lovers.
Chenna (Indian Cheese Cake) Tarkari in Coconut gravy
Chenna Jhilli - Dessert
Ambiance - 3/5
Food - 4.5/5
Staff - 4/5
A must go and eat place for veg lovers. The ambience is good and serves quite delicious food. I found the staff good n quick at service, may be sometimes it may vary due to rush hours or on a Sunday. Price is moderate.
If you are an Odia foodie you will love it.
Food is tasty and there is a homely touch to it. Dalma, rice, saga bhaja, aaloo bharta, ouu khata, khiri...mouth watering veg spread.
A very average place which serves authentic Oriya food however I am not a fan of the cuisine and hence didn't enjoy it much... ambience is also very average
Dalma is a typical odia dish. It's something similar to dal (made of lentils) but also had lots of vegetables added to it. So, the name suggests that we are entering into an odia cuisine speciality restaurant.
Sounds great as I am odia and I have grown up eating odia cuisine.
The set up is ordinary. You don't have fancy interiors or setting arrangements. But then, you walked in to ensure you eat good authentic odia food. So that's where they have put all their focus and energy on.
You settle down. They have thali as well as a la carte. You get all possible odia speciality including santuda, badi chura, chingudi jhola etc etc. Let me not elaborate but in short, all that you want in odia person's daily food, there is a good possibility of you getting it here.
Overall, I like the simple set up. A fancy interior with gaudy setting arrangement would have probably spoilt the simplicity of odia food and the culture.
Overall, if you are Bhubaneswar and you are tired of eating all those run of the mill tandoori, chinese, continental, Italian etc etc then you spare time to visit this place. You won't regret.
I also felt, on the price side over the years they have been bitten by the capitalism bug and priced their food on the higher side. But once a while, indulgence as well as expense on good food is something which you will make peace with.
The restaurant is one of the best in the city. One can try the local food here especially ...Dalma the specialty of Orissa. The bamboo mutton is a must try for the non veg lovers .
The place is generally full during lunch and inspite of that service is quick.
The ambience is not great but the restaurant is conveniently located .
If you are in Bhuvaneshwar ...do visit this place !
The overall ambience was decent. The service was good.
We had ordered Veg Thaali, Fish Thaali, Chingudi Tarkari, Pomfret Fry and Badi Chura.
The Veg Thaali had a number of preparations in it and it included Kheeri. You would require to order more rice or roti to finish all of it. Most all the preparations were good.
The fish thaali was okay. Didn't really like the fish. It was average.
The Pomfret Fry was good.
But the show stealers were the Chingudi Tarkari and Badi Chura. The Chingudi Tarkari tastes best with rice. Thanks to the Badi Chura we could finish the Veg Thaali.π
Overall I love Dalma! ππ Good for people looking for comfort food.

One of the best place in the town to have some odia Thalis I had many of them like Annapurna thali chicken thali prawn thali dalma special thali etc all of them were really good ND had high quality and quantity...... πluv to visit again
It's a great place to eat authenticate odia food. Service is good here. . I will say its quite pricy for this type of food. I tried mutton thali its good not great.
A family restaurant rather! Odisha food at its best, nothing to crave more for. Must try - Mutton Fry and Prawns curry. Nice preparation of food
"Dalma" is a very popular traditional Odia curry, which made with mainly dal & vegetables.
Dal and vegetables are a good combination of vitamins and protein. Dalma prepared in Eastern Odisha and temple , sprinkled with shredded coconut.
Coming to restaurant, the ambience of the restaurant is really good! The dΓ©cor is simplistic
Staffs are very friendly and supportive. They served very quickly. (waiting time may be longer for peak hours)
Food -
I have been living in 5 different states till now. Odia food has its own touch.
We ordered pakhala thali, butter chicken, Chena poda. I loved the taste of pakhala. Pakhala is kind of boiled rice soaked in buttermilk..chickens taste was good not best though.
Chena poda is most try. You will end up liking it.
Here it comes the oldest odia food chain. This place ambience is modern but food you get all pure traditional odia vegetarian and non vegetarian foods. I love this place.
Good place to have all odia foods. Chatu rai, prawn dalma are some must have items here. The only point is the food quantity per plate is not satisfactory for odias.
This is one awesome food joint that I will always visit whenever I get to Bhubaneswar , authentic oddiya food and nothing fancy ..This isnt a fine dining place but the thalis and bamboo mutton is simply out of the world ,first time I tried the dahi pakhala and it was brilliant ..A must try place for visitors ...Cheers
The biggest problem with this place is that most of the amazing dishes on the menu are never available. They seem to concentrate on the usual meals. While food is good and a refreshing change (especially the pakhala which every tourist should try) from the unhealthy oily usual restaurant affair, it could be a lot better if they serve all the traditional odia food they have mentioned on the menu. It would help people know more about odia cuisine.
Please note that there are a lot of restaurants with the name 'dalma' affixed to them. This one is above Shiraz.
Please your taste buds with the authentic "home made" odiya cuisine. It was my first experience with odiya cuisine and I like to compare it with a typical Wester UP food minus the salt & chilly but added pinch of mustard. Odiya for me is fusion of "South (for ingredients & North (for taste)...!!
Tried the Dalma & mix Bhaja, chakuki and Cheena jhilli...:-)
Server was too polite and humble with traditional ambience

I love this place..full desi food..home made food..We ordered chicken, prawn and mutton Thali..All were awesome..best part is dalma..traditional vegetable food of odisha.. overall satisfied and happy..

If you ever visit Odisha, then you should try out the cuisine. Their most famous dish is Dalma and that is why this place is aptly named. You should definitely visit this place even if you are not too fond of east indian food made out of mustard oil. The food with all respect is of good quality. The Oriya mutton is a must.
Dalma is always a safe bet when you're confused as to what you want to eat. For me of course, the options are quite limited. I end up always eating the Classic Dalma with either Roti or Rice along with their Green Salad and Fried Papad.
Best place for authentic odia food... Must try dahi pakhala and pomfret fry.... Its really tasty... U can also try prawn dalma if u r a sea food freak... Service is good as well as the ambience... Really good place to go with family...
One of the best places to serve authentic odia food.Compared to its patia counterpart,it is a bit congested and u have to wait sometime to get a seat.Staffs are professional and service is fast.Fish thali here is a must.Veg thali is equally good. This place kept its reputation and authenticity over d yrs.I strongly recommend this place.
Excellent food. Menu is extensive and seasonal to a particularly high standard. Definitely fine dining and awesome taste I loved itππ...
We are coming from out of orissa. Trying out dalma and mustard based curries for first time.
Pohala thali Tastes good but too many thorns in fish. Fish gravy was new taste and good. Special thali is average. Chicken thali is good. Chicken gravy tasted good. Zeera rice and dalma is very good. Potato curry in thali tasted well. Also tried pampet fish fry. Good.
We tried Odia food at this highly rated restaurant in Bhubaneshwar for dinner yesterday. The food was freshly prepared and absolutely delicious!! The Mushroom Curry was outstanding!! This is our first trip to Orissa and we will definitely patronize them before our 3 day visit ends. The restaurant is on the first floor with limited parking up front. One can get parking on side streets. The restaurant was well lighted and the service was friendly and professional. Thanked the manager/kitchen staff on the way out - impressed with the excellent food preparation.
Itβs perfect food. Best for Poda Mutton lover and non veg lover. Odia authentic food served so beautifully. We all loved it and we repeat our orders once again. Best place for foodies, Family and friends. Price is so genuine and you will feel worth it.
We went for dinner here.a small place with family crowd.. food was Just okay..am not feel the authentic taste that they provide before..we ordered Masala dosa, chilli mashroom n mix chaowmin..
Dosa -3
Chaowmin -4
Chilli mashroom -1(it's too Hard feels like am chewing a Rock)
Absolutely top class. Excellent food. Excellent service. Excellent ambience. Must have authentic Odia cuisines with non vegetarian dishes. Good place to have good lunch or dinner with friends in Bhubaneswar, Odisha.
One of the best restaurants in Odisha,
Food is amazing, Taste and Quality is best with very reasonable price.
Had dinner for four people and bill was under 1500 hundred only.
Bamboo Mutton is best
Good food
Timings are 12-4 and after 7 pm -10 pm
Ensure timings
The food is very much authentic and I really love it.
But they should improve the atmosphere of the restaurant. As per the price and cost we pay I never seen a attractive interior in any of dalma restaurant in bhubaneswar.
2nd this the waiter are good in behaviour but they are not much professional
Atmosphere is so calming. Slow old odia songs are played, sure you will feel nostalgic over there. Must visit place. Food was delicious and overall employees were of good nature.
For authentic and delicious Odia cuisine in Bhubaneswar, Dalma is the go-to place. If you're unsure about what to order from the menu, go for the simple thali. You'll be amazed at the variety of items it offers. The food here is not only tasty but also truly authentic. It's definitely worth a try!
Very nice food but very reasonable price.
The place has a well-crafted food menu which boasts of serving βhome-likeβ food with less oil and spices. Authentic odia food π€€π€€π€€

We were on our first trip to Odisha and wanted to taste local cuisine.
Had traditional thali here.
Overall good.
Great Odia food. Claims to be the first Odia restaurant in India. We had a prawn thali, a crab thali and the special veg thali. The crab thali was disappointing but the others were very good.
Unfortunately they didn't have ice or soda.
Would recommend.
