I would definitely recommend this place to all. It's a family place, you can also come with friends, you can even come alone. Thing which would matter here is chicken dishes! Try chicken lababdar, chicken Hyderabadi and chicken kadai even. Mutton dishes are also very tasty. You would find it hard to find your favorite dish. Also, lachcha paratha will go even for all the dishes here. Have been eating here since 4 years, and am really a great admirer of the place. People are complaining in other reviews about 'less quantity' but aren't one should be satisfied with 4 pieces of chicken along with a lachcha paratha both for 120INR? So, I think they do justice with food and taste, and that's what the purpose should be!! One should definitely eat here. It's the best place in the town with no doubt.
Our last meal for two cost us Rs. 90. The Black Dal (Ma Ki Daal) at rupees thirty for a half plate is brilliant and so is the Paneer Tikka Masala. They also serve a variety of non-vegetarian dishes extending from chicken to mutton to sea food.Β ππ

One of the best paneer butter masala in the town. Whenever am in bhubaneswar this place is my must visit. My friend took me to this restaurant in 2011 since then their paneer butter masala n laccha paratha combo is my fav. Small palace, not great ambiance but the food I mentioned is super tasty. ππ

The best pocket friendly restaurant in the town. It's a hiddenly kept secret of the town. We tried Chicken Bharta, Egg Masala and Lacha paratha. All are nicely prepared and tasted really well. Chicken Bharta is their signature dish. The next time I will try out the Chicken Lababdar. If you want to enjoy their dishes in dinner, do visit before 8PM to fully ensure that these dishes don't end up because of high demand. I was so busy with my taste buds that I forgot to capture photos to post here. A must go place!

A small hotel kinda place. A little unhygienic too. Nice service, nice staffs. Forget about interior and ambience as I said it's a hotel kinda place. But the food,they were more than awesome. Pakwan is a rare Emotion, which is associated with me during my Engineering career. Countless visits to the restaurant and countless visits can tell about the food that how good they are.Though the space is limited but there are a hell lot of restaurants nearby with super awesome ambiance but the taste over here in pakwan can single handedly beat them, as when food is good no matter how the ambiance is. PAKWAN is a humble little restaurant in N6 IRC village, it is Bhubaneswar best kept secret.This joint serves mughlai food at pocket friendly prices and it has maintained its quality and taste of food since I first visited in 2006.
We ordered for TANGDI KEBAB (βΉ90 for 2pc), which was marinated well, the kebabs were tender and juicy, it was medium spicy and tasted good. All in all a good place to eat kebab.
Next was the legendary LACCHA PARATTHA (βΉ10) and CHICKEN BHARTA (βΉ110), both are restaurant's signature dish. The Laccha paratha was more like a normal paratha, it was soft and flaky. It was thinner, less fried and had less maida than the other laccha paratha we get in town. The chicken bharta we ordered was full of cream and eggs, the chicken was soft, had right amount of spices and it tasted very good
You rarely expect this quality of food from small roadside restaurants like PAKWAN. A must eat in Bhubaneswar.

Specialities of the Pakwan includes Meals as in Oriya style Thali, Paneer Masala, Lachha Paratha (as they have nothing else in Roti-naan division). In non veg my friends highly recommended chicken masala, tikka masala, anda masala and biriyani.

Been a fan of Pakwaan for a very long time. Used to visit this place when it was in CSpur. This was my first time at the Nayapalli outlet. The food never changed a little bit. Ordered for Paneer Butter Masala, Chicken Bharta and Chicken Kadai with the Pakwaan special Lacha Paratha. Loved every bit of it.
The shredded Chicken Bharta is a perfect blend of spices and very flavourful. The half sliced boiled egg on the top is like a cherry on the cake. The Kadai Chicken was also a revelation. The cream on top add a nice subtle touch of richness to the dishes.
What I did not like about the place was the dishware they use. The plates are washed and put on the table without drying. At times you may also find a hint of oil stains on thenllate. Now that is a big turnoff if you happen to visit a restaurant..but given the excellent taste ..I will give that a pass to some extent and would double clean it with a tissue paper. The ambience is nothing exceptional and chairs are not comfortable at all. But given the budget in which it is serving ..the ambience is quite justified.
Itβs a very pocket friendly outlet and serves great food. The Lacha Paratha is absolute bliss.

Perhaps the best of its class North Indian/Mughlai restaurant in Bhubaneswar. Β A small joint with nothing fancy in its interiors or infrastructure, food is their real hero. The Tangri with a tinge of ajwain is drool worthy, we also love Chicken Bharta, Lababdar with the trademark parathas. Been going to this place since a decade now and the food never disappoints.
The best Chicken Butter Masala that I tasted in the entire city! Located a few meters after The Crown, The Pakwan isn't exactly a restaurant, but an upgraded version of a dhaba rather. Nevertheless, that doesn't affect the awesome food that it serves. The place might seem a bit stuffed and congested to few, but who cares when the food is soooo good?
It's pocket friendly too.
Small place, pocket friendly and taste is outstanding, bit disappointed with tandoori chicken pieces are small. But you have to compromise with the ambience of the place. Otherwise the restaurant is good. My ratings :

This review was long pending and is based on only two items I tasted. The famous chicken bharta with laccha paratha. Chicken bharta was the best I have tasted in bbsr by a long way. Chunks of chicken along with pieces of boiled egg is what describes it best. It was creamy, low on oil and full on taste. The laccha paratha was a perfect combination for the bharta. Ambience is a big let down. Service is quite fast keeping in mind the crowd.
The food will beat so many good restaurants in town.. although no ac with no good ambience, food compensates for all and u will satisfied after coming out of the restaurant. Will definately hit this when I visit bbsr

How come I have never visited it before in spite of this being so close to my home.. Well I must say the lacha paratha and chicken bharta were simply the best.. Though the ambience is not nyc but te food compensates for that

Had been here quite a few times .They serve juicy tangdi kababs,tandoori kababs and haryali kababs are also good. Previously it was a small dhaba type with not so good ambience but recently they have renovated and it is much better now. It is easy for a casual dine- in. Nice place to try out the kababs at a very minimal cost. The biriyani here is non spicy type and it was good by me. Have been there with my Mamu as he always vouches for this place and recently I went with my cousins .
Bottom line: one of the best places for kababs in bbsr.
Future goals: Yet to try the laccha paratha,chicken kassa and chicken bharta so yes I will be visiting them again.

Amazing non-veg food at quite cheap prices. They serve some of the best gravies in Bhubaneswar. Add a lacha paratha to that, and you will have a grand meal without even hurting your pocket.

It's more of a dhaba. I had a different kind of chicken kassa here. The must try dishes are- lacha paratha, chicken kassa, tangri kabab. I would rate it very high on value for money. If you are going for a casual dinner outing it's the place for you.
Awesome non-veg cuisines..I would recommend everyone to have its chicken biryani and tandoori chicken or chicken tikka as starter...Service is good..but sometimes overcrowded during lunch tym...above all...fits in budjet
I have visited a Pakwan restaurant in BBSR and i dont really know if this is the one cuz of what i remember i did not the see the ac; but i do remember a wonderful meal. A dear friend Thakker took me to pakwan and we went as a group of around 10 persons. we could not get to sit together as there was not enough place. We order chiken bharta and rumali roti and butter naans and the biryani. Everyone kept ordering whatever they wishes to eat and at the end of it we had so much food. The kebabs and leg pieces were fabulous but what stood out for me was the chiken bhartha which i had never tried till that day. Shredded chicken with a thick rich and spicy gravy some egg and loads of butter. You have to visit this place for the butter naan and chicken bharta. The biryani and other stuff is very good as well.

I had heard that they make amazing Chicken Bharta and what I got was beyond my expectations. It was perhaps the best Chicken Bharta I have had in my life so far. Even the Laccha Paranthas were yummy and well made. The Biryani was delicious and was on the less spicy side (if that's what you prefer). The service is fast and the food is worth the money.
Have been eating here for the past 7-8 years now and the food has never disappointed me( on a few occasions it did but sometimes things go side ways so it's okay). Chicken bharta, chilli chicken and lacha Paratha are must try items , whereas chicken biryani is something which you can give a shot if you like Kolkata style chicken biryani. Pricing is pretty good and so is the food

You can have a flavourful experience without burning you wallet. Tried the tangdi kabab and kadhai chicken with lachha Paratha. The Paratha was soft and the layers just melt in your mouth. The Tangdi was juicy and tender and oozing with deliciousness. The kadhai chicken gravy is just a class apart.
