We were on a walk at the Bogmalo beach when we came across this hidden gem. The candle lit ambience, smell of yummy food, live music and sea facing view appealed us so even though we weren’t much hungry we went there.

We ordered a Veg 65 just to have something and enjoy the cool breeze of the ocean but it was so yummy and we wanted to spend more time in this amazing ambience so we ordered Veg Kebaab Platter on a recommendation by them. It was yummy too but too much for 2 especially when not hungry.
Overall amazing place and we will surely visit it again on our visit to Bogmalo.

Have been a couple of times here, and was impressed on my last visit a week back. The ambiance is super cool with lighting and beach just by the side. The DJ's songs selection made up the perfect mood for weekend. The service was quick.
I have been visiting Goa as an yearly affair since 2016. This time around I came to attend a wedding at the ITC Grand. Turns out, someone special in my life had recommended this place to me, so I ditched the lunch at the wedding with the view to eat the much hyped Chicken Kolhapuri. I reached late in the afternoon when they weren’t taking food orders, but when I told them the purpose of my visit the staff obliged and served me the dish I had been waiting for. For the kind of taste buds I have ... it hit the check boxes perfectly. It was worth the journey and certainly worth the hype. Special compliments to the excellent staff for helping me complete this journey... I will be visiting you guys more often. Cheers

A sea facing shack with an amazing view, polite staff and an even better taste in music. Soups, starters and desserts are really good. Must try Prawn Spring Rolls, Beef Chilli Fry and Pork Ribs.
Nice place to go with friends with beach view. The seafood served here is fresh and flavours are delicious.
The mocktails, lollipop chicken, prawns garlic butter, cheese garlic naan are good here. The north Indian food served here is good .

Tried Noodle Sizzler; it was priced at around ₹300 which was fair enough. It consisted of a patty above Schezwan Noodles which was topped by a sauce, Fries and Veggies.
Dish was good in terms of both quantity and quality. Service was a bit slow which was the only negative I felt. Overall, a good place to visit.
We went to John Seagull only because we never got seating space at another close by restaurant at Bogmallo recommended to us. But were pleasantly surprised and had a wonderful dining experience inspite of slow service.

A fine place in Bogmalo for a quiet and delicious dinner. Visited the place on a Sunday night. Best thing about this place is that it’s located right on the beach. Seating is fancy with huge benches and tables. We had a beef sizzler, mutton kheema naam, squids and a Chicken steak. Food was scrumptious and pocket friendly too. The vibes at the place and the crowd was pretty good. I’d like to visit this place in the day to get the view of the sea. Sadly the place shut sharp at 11 due to the prevailing election code of conduct. Overall, it’s a good place to visit for the sea view and the sea food.
This has been my go-to place for the last 5 years!! Its right at the entrance of bogmalo, has karaoke, amazing food and the best bar options. Must tries include the paneer tikka and cheese naan! The staff is really chill and they allow you to loiter around on the beach as well! Pet friendly too!
It’s location is the main attraction. With beach on one side, you can just sit here and enjoy your meal/drink. The food is awesome, and the ambience is amazing. This place has peaceful and positive vibes
Nice cosy place next to the beach. Good choice of Goan and continental food. They also have outdoor sitting and some good live music occasionally. Not a bad place to hang out with your friends if you in and around Vasco! However slightly on the expensive side.
Very chilled out place. Had tandoori pomfret and pepper pork which was nicely cooked and served. It tasted really well. One of the employee played on his acoustic which was breathtaking.

This is a mid size and mid range place right on the beach. Their food is amazing specially the sizzlers and order anything in sea food and you will love it. Service is good too but gets slow sometimes.

Visited this place in 2nd week of August. It's a beach side restaurant. We got the beach side table as well. Food was good. There was a single guy managing all the tables. Service was a bit slow.
We went to this place because i heard good reviews from a friend. Zomato shows it temporary closed dunno why. Right by the beachside. You can feel the cool ocean breeze and they project world cup too. The ambience is nice. The waiters are very friendly and helpful. The service was reasonably quick too. We tried calamari butter garlic , veg koliwada, pepper chicken, chicken sizzler and veg biryani.
The koliwada was something new and tasty. The sizzler was great too specially the rice which came with it. The rest felt ordinary.
What a place and amazing sea view. This is the best shake in Bogmalo. If you reached airport too early then you must visit this place located hardly 4kms from airport. Chicken lollipop is one of the must try starters. This place is worth every penny.
Went here along with my friends from bits pilani Goa, trust me if u have time left before catching up your flight , it's cheap and the view is just awesome as it is so near to the sea shore. Beautiful place to go.
A good shack located at the Bogmalo beach. We ordered just drinks and french fries. So I cannot comment on the food. The fries was good. The cold coffee and the fresh lime soda were good too. The food ordered at the other tables looked delicious. So i am giving this a 4 star since I cannot give a 3.5 star.The view was fantastic from this shack. That makes this shack a worth while visit.

Another beach in Goa.Another great restaurant. We had to spend 4 hrs here.. so had to eat a lot of food and beer.. so here goes
1. Prawns wrapped in bacon : There was a meaty crunchiness to this dish which was a game changer
2. Fish chilly fry : This fish dish was so so.. nothing special about it. The fish didn't taste so good
3.king prawn masala : This dish was very well prepared and served with french fries
4. Modso fry : another fish item which was good but nothing special
5. American style chicken : same what you get at KFC. Also costlier
6. Mushroom beef steak : well presented and well cooked
7. Shrimp cocktail
8. Fried ice cream : This was a recommended dish from here and it didn't disappoint. The ice cream was covered in a thick chocolate pancake type layer which was warm on the too with the cold ice cream in the middle. It melted quickly but satisfied our taste buds immensely as well
Overall a nice place in bogmalo to hang out. The staff are laid back and slow but so is Goa. So go ahead and enjoy some good food while enjoying the cool ocean breeze
What's not to like about John Seagull's??? It's was a rather lazy romantic afternoon for me.. we might have eaten John of home and hearth had we stayed longer.. 😊😊 we tried food that wasn't even on the menu and it was all fantastic 👍👍👍 superlative ❣❣❣ had visited Goa in April of 2017... and it was hot.. seriously hot outside... for a Bangalore gal anyways..

This place is our usual adda when we are in Goa. We have been eating and drinking only here for the last 4 years and you just cant get over it. The restaurant faces Bogmalo beach and it an ideal place to swim, relax and drink. The staffs and the owner are very friendly . Tired all the food served in the restaurant and every season we loved something or the other.
Their prawns biriyani is just amazing and not to miss the cheese omlette.
Lovely and spacious ambience, DJ, dance floor, separate smoking and no smoking seating. it doesn't burn ur pocket either.
you will love it !

It is located on the Bogmalo beach, after a couple of places on the right side of the beach from the entrance. There are two entries to the restaurant: one through the beach and the other through the road parallel to the beach.
Ambience - The place is quite big with indoor and outdoor seating, the indoor seating has plastic chairs and the outdoor has wooden benches. The place was well decorated with colorful lights and Christmas tree. They also have a pool table! Unfortunately it was not open when I was there, they probably open it in the evening.
Service - The staff was polite and well mannered but they are slow, we ourselves had to ask them for menu and call them to order food (even though there were hardly a bunch of customers). Once ordered the dishes arrived pretty fast.
Food - We ordered Virgin Mary, Veg Kadai, some Rotis and Peas Pulao. The Virgin Mary mocktail was tangy and spicy which was good, the Veg Kadai was a little bland for my taste so I asked for some onion slices to go with it but it was of good quantity for 4 Rotis, the Rotis were hot and crisp, the Peas Pulao quantity was good enough but it was way too oily.
I think it is better to specifically mention to put less oil if you are going to order any rice dish.
I found this restro bar is amazing for foodie. Delicious food, Authentic Mocktails, Cozy Seating, Nice Ambience, Good Music, Excellent Service. Enjoyed our day outing with friends. Keep it up John Seagull team.........👌👌👌👌🍝🥗🌮🍲🥘😎
The host "John" is very friendly and welcoming. He makes you feel at home and keeps you informed about the options available. Love the view from the seating area and Cheese-Garlic Naan are the best i've had till date. Tap Beer options are good and refreshing...especially Bira. All in all a great choice for a weekend brunch or a quiet dinner with family anyday.

Staple for every bitsian, John's cheese garlic naan is a must after a walk at Bogmalo. Countless evenings have been spent here, yet no one can forget the cheese garlic naan, the butter chicken and fries. This place has good food, beach facing and an awesome host in John.
Amazing place by the beach. Loved the ambiance. The sound of the waves, the sight of my daughter playing in the sand and the wind blowing lightly on my face as I enjoyed my meal. Though off season everything on the menu was available. Enjoyed every bit of my meal at this place. The Prawn curry rice was excellent. The Tandoori crab is to die for unfortunately I had to leave the crab claws behind :( as it was not cracked while cooking and too big and hard for me to crack at the table.
Having a sweet tooth i ordered for three desserts, The Fried ice cream was good, the Chocolate pancake was okay and the Crepe Suzette was a little bitter due to the orange zest.
Overall a place with good food and great ambiance. Must visit if in Bogmalo Beach

During a visit to Vasco, was in a conflict between Anantashram and shacks along the Bogmallo beach. As luck could have it Anantashram, perhaps the best sea food thali place, was closed, being Sunday. Headed to John Sea gull. Remind me of a book i read some years back "Jonathan Livingston Seagull". No connection or similarity apparently. Possibly owned by a local guy and his Russian partner, this place is cool, clean. We tried Grilled Red Snapper (was yum) and the signature dish Cheese Garlic Naan (too good). Could not resist asking the lady of the restaurant about the recipe. Would have loved to try the Sea Food Platter too, but for the cost (Rs 2500). Will surely try it next, with more guys to savour the platter. The beach in front is clean and vibrant. Overall - great.

I visited this restaurant after Zomato recommended later i came to know that this is one of the favorite hangout place for all those who come to Bogmalo. Nice view, the shack has a different feel and look. We had lunch here I. Must mention try their Cheese Garlic Nan I bet you will forget pizzas. They also made us fall in love with chicken vindaloo.
Went to John Seagull just by chance. Very nice sea facing outlet. Had sunset cooler, strawberry colada. In main course navratan korma, dal fry and some other things. Sat there for around 4 hrs. Awesome place and ambience, friendly staff. Top of that food is yummy. A must try for everyone. A great place for a laid back time by the beautiful sea beach.
Been to this place quite a few times with friends. It has a nice ambience with both indoor and outdoor seating and has a good view of the Bogmalo beach. The service is good. We tried Golden Fry Calamaries and Masala Prawns for starters. The Calamaries are crispy fried and comes with an amazing mayo dip which makes it even better. It is a must try! Being a spaghetti lover, Spaghetti Carbonara is my frequent order whenever I'm at this place. For dessert, I ordered Chocolate pancake. A single pancake for its price is definitely not worth it and I would not recommend it. Overall, the place is really good and I would urge you to try it if you are around!
Situated on the Bogmalo beach. John's has been around for a while. Their food quality is pretty good and they often play some good music too. It's a total shack experience. There isn't much variety when it comes to food. Usually I prefer having a few starters here along with some chilled beer.
But still worth a visit.

John seagull's is this cool place by the beach and the ambience is near perfect. It's open on the side that faces the beach and there is a clear view of the beach from any table inside. It would look simple if not for the beach in front of it. The butter chicken and planner butter masala with any tandoori bread is definitely to do die for. All the non-veg seemed to be extremely delicious. They serve alcohol. You might have to shell a lot of money to have a big meal here though.
Food is good. They have some mouth watering options in pork and sea food. Proximity to the airport means you could have your last drinks, dinner or lunch before heading back to the airport. One of the few shacks thats open round the year.
John's has great food at great prices. Everything here is worth a try, from the north Indian food, to the continental pastas and steaks. It has a wide range of drinks too. It is located right next to the beach and has a great ambience. Sometimes their service slows down when it gets too crowded.

By the beach, great music, good food and some chilled beer!! What more can u ask for???. John seagull is the perfect chill spot ( i went with a quick lunch, never realised the time pass by) the place provides a cosy feel to it.
The "Definate must try" includes the " rava fry fish"," the chilli- cheese -garlic- naan", " sausage pulav".

It's my go to place for reliable vegetarian good food which is a rarity in beach shacks for Goa. Mr. John makes sure personally that all his guests are comfortable and satisfied. I've been eating here for as long as my memory goes and so many favourites have come and gone, but I must recommend my recent favourite-the cheese garlic naan.

Goa -> Day 3 -> Lunch
It was the Last Day at Goa & We have our Returning Ticket Done from Vasco, So Quickly in Morning we checked out from the Hotel & after having our Breakfast near Calangute, We came over to Vasco. Sinse we were still left with some hours to enjoy our Trip, We decided to taste a bit of South Goa by going to Bogmalo Beach.
Its a secluded & a small Beach but has a charm of it's own ; Very Peaceful , Airy & with some really Known Shacks like Joets & Seagull it was just a apt place to end our Journey with.
Ambience : We Decided to try out SEAGULL as it was very Spacious + It is located at the centre of the beach thus we were getting the best view from there. + The Ambience of the Shack is also very apt as per the Location , the interiors are also abit retro with all wooden & bamboo used for decor, They have a open corridor infront & a open space at one side of the Shack where you can enjoy the Natural beach view & breezes without any restriction. The only negative which i found was that there were NO MUSIC (may be cause it was Lunch time) but that could have added alot more enjoyment to the Moment.

Handi Chicken : was not as spicy as the Dish should be, A bit on Tangy & Sweet side but even though the Flavors were very well Balanced & Overall the Dish was very Tasty & very Soothing to Eat.
The Dish was not less than a 3.75* for me.
Korma : It was very rich gravy a bit on sweet side but was Good to Taste , You can notice some dry fruits in the Gravy & Paneer pieces were also Fresh , Though i dont like such sweet Dish but it was very well balanced by other spices, which made it Good to Taste & Quiet upto my Liking . For Me Korma is 3.5*
Tandoori Roti : It was good, Nothing to elaborate much, It was as good as you can find anywhere in Goa , For Me 3.25*
Service : The staff was very courteous as they allowed us to take all our luggage inside, Provided us toilets & room to change our clothes after Enjoying our time in exploring the Beach. The Food was also served hot & on time . For me Service : 4*
*If the Rates of the Place would ve been a bit more Pocket Friendly , I would have easily rated it as a 4.5* Place.

Clam, peaceful, sea breeze, good food, this shack offers all this. Good food, tried the calamari butter Garlic, mussel rava fry, fried ice cream. The sea food was fresh and nice, however the fried ice cream was good but could have been better if it was a bit crispy. Over all good place to hangout with Family.

My friend used to continuously pester me about visiting this place. Honestly, I don't like the Bogmalo beach. It smells of fish, is dirty and doesn't have shacks setting tables and beds on the beach. But after her persistence, we finally went here. Ambience wise this place is OK. Good open air place with good lighting made a comfortable evening despite the heat. I ordered some mocktails and chinese bhel for starter and a white sauce pasta for main course. Chinese bhel was nice and I saw this option in Goa for the first time, I think! Peanut masala also makes a rare appearance here where people enjoy everything kaju! I also tried veg koliwada which was salty and Manchurian like. Didn't enjoy it that much. The pasta was good with lots of veggies and cheese. My friends had fried icecream for dessert and found it to be lovely. Very nice north Indian food at affordable prices. Karaoke night seems to be hosted everyday so the singer in you can dazzle in the limelight. They also have a pool table which made our evening more fun. Nice place on a not so nice beach

The owner of this place( mr. John) is a true leader and a very nice man to be with..
Not only does he manage the restraunt well but also serves the food and drinks along with this employees when required!

Talking about the food... This restraunts serves very Delicious food... No wonder why dad loves it so much...
Recently have visited this place with a group of 10 people and we ordered a varietyof delicacies... Starting with the panner chilli , veg cafreal( one of the best goan dish) and cheese garlic naan for the vegetarian people they enjoyed a good quantity of food and a different taste then usual..
Non vegetarian people had chicken cafreal(my favourite), tandoori chicken, fish sizzler, chicken steak sizzler... And it gives us a good quantity and quality for non veg too..
Drinks.. We had whisky beer and the goan special URAK(prey distill kaju feni) and margarita and blood marry in cocktails with was super yumm..
Definitely would suggest this place to others and would keep visiting it whenever I m in goa... Guys its a must try place! Trust me you will love it

He's a perfect example of a leader. I have seen him working with his crew along drinks serving, he will do anything to keep the show running.
My work brings me to Goa for months together every year. We prefer staying near Bogmalo beach due to the proximity to Naval base. During our stay we visit this place like couple of times or more every week.
Lovely place, smoking allowed in a portion. The crew is energetic. Food tastes amazing and I don't remember anyone of us complaining about anything out of 50+ visits we have done. Karaoke performance on Friday eves and the beach makes u come back again and again.

It is the best chicken lollipop you will find in whole india I must say. It's not a typical deep fried stuff.

Ideally a 3.5 rating place but the additional .5 it earns purely for having enough option for vegetarians on its menu. This is the only place we can found on entire beach which had good food and mock tails.. One can also enjoy the karaoke music at weekends..
What a lovely place on the beautiful quiet beach in South Goa. One of the few shacks in Goa that serves strong beer as well, and this made all of us really happy - a well stocked up bar. The owner of the place was sitting behind in the shack and that was adding to the nice vibe to the place. Apart from beer we ordered a veg sizzler, a salad (don't remember which one) and Chinese Bhel. The order for us was the sizzler served with some really good mashed potatoes. The waiters were very humble and courteous. The graffiti at the side walls was great, I am putting the pictures of the same.
This is one of the places that will urge you to have something like this of your own - relaxing and chilling

This place has its advantage as its bang on the Bogmalo beach. I don't know why people are bashing this place left right and centre in reviews but we did not find any issues here. The behaviour of the staff was not rude it was okay. The place was a bit empty when we got there so we got a place to sit near the balcony facing the beach. Overall it was a great experience having a chilled beer with snacks on a hot and humid summer afternoon. This place is also not that heavy on your wallet somewhere in the middle of being affordable and expensive.

It's one of the best places you should try if u are at South Goa... The best beachside restaurant is located at Bogmalo Beach.. The ambiance is first - rate , music. We can envision delectable food and the best quality hospitality. We should feel a little hot depending on the weather and seating..The service was slow, but it is indemnified by their service and food..If you are looking to have food with cocktails and hookah it might be a good choice in South Goa
Best location, good food, great ambience- bang on Bogmalo beach. It's a perfect place if you want to enjoy the great Goa beach shack vibe. Service can be faster as sometimes it tends to get crowded. The ambience is very enjoyable with live music on weekends. Has comparatively good vegetarian options but obviously non vegetarian dishes steal the deal. Go for Tandoor or Chinese dishes for both veg and non veg. Mushroom chilly, Paneer Tikka and Egg fried rice are favourites. Check out their classy mocktails and cocktails as well.
Good food.. had king prawns,chicken steak, chicken crispy, fried rice all are good.. except king prawn feels pretty expensive.
place is on the beach so you will be facing beach just a step ahead..please do visit once..

One of the best sea foods you can have in Bagmalo beach area . Ambience is superb, live music and best hospitality you can expect here . Had Red Snapper , garlic prawns , cheese kulcha . Just wow !! Go for it friends . 5 stars undoubtedly!!
A good and quite place with sea view. Food and service were good but they don't play any music(not even slowly) which makes the place a bit too silent.
