Bang on one of the most happening beaches of north Goa.....calangut. Sea view is just awesome. Stuff mackerel is real treat to the teaser buds.
Goa on vacation, one of our friends recommended this restaurant. Though we reached quite late in the afternoon, we ordered red snapper tandoori, squid masala, crab xacuti, rice and we must say this restaurant was just awesome. Though the size of crab was very small in comparison to their price but still the taste was apt. I definitely recommend this to everyone if u r in Goa.
We had lunch here for the days we stayed in goa. We tried the prawns masala which was super delicious, masala rava fried prawns and prawns biryani. All the dishes were tasty, I would highly recommend the prawns biryani here. Also in sweet dish we had blueberry cheesecake which was good too!

If we go to Goa , atleast one meal at this heaven is a must ! This time we ate finger licking prawns masala & lip smacking beef chilli fry ! With loads of beer, the service is prompt , the vibe of this place is very energetic 😁 & lively
Right next to the entrance of Calangute Beach this establishment is smack in between the cacophony being played at insane volume levels from neighboring shacks.
If you wish a decent conversation then the beach tables or those on the open terrace are not for you. Insist on a table inside.
The Live Music group singer does a decent mimicry of Elton John.

This place has it's own charm. I found this restaurant through a food vlog and tried their signature dish which is xacuti. I tried their veg xacuti with poi. It was awesome and the ambiance is excellent. It is a beach facing restaurant and the service is fast. Staffs are attentive and courteous too.
I recommend this place and I would love to visit again.
An amazing place to enjoy great food with family.
We ordered garlic butter prawns, chilli chicken, Cesar salad for starters and all of them were great. Main course we ordered fish curry rice and Chicken xacuti with poe bread; both of which were okay.
Desserts are amazing here, we tried caramel custard, strawberry tart, ice cream and fruit salad. The fruit salad was okay and heavily priced whereas all the others were amazing.
The mojito was over priced.
Overall visit this place when you're close by for some amazing food.

Souza Lobo is a 1932 restaurant right on Calangute beach. Definitely should be on the bucket list of all those visiting Goa. This legendary outlet is known for its authentic Goan cuisine and fresh sea food. The local Goan cocktails and wide range of fresh beers will make it hard for you to leave. Its not like any other newly opened shack with disturbing music and un pleasant beach boys. About the food - try the recheado preparation - falvours are nothing like you may have tried before. Ask server for what is fresh while ordering sea food. They have live music in the evenings, and wonderful sunsets daily. They are open throughout the year.
A decent place to visit for a nice meal and bartender knows how to make cocktails. Sea front for a perfect view.
Souza lobo is a legendary shack located at calangute goa. It has a very vibrant vibe and friendly staff prepped up with the happening ambiance is a delightful experience. We had chicken xacuti and vindallo, goan special very well made and presented. Chicken lollypop was spicy and added a nice taste. In desserts we had caramel custard and the famous goan dessert bebinca and ended our meal on a sweet and delicious note.
Overall a must visit....goa hai bhai....Have fun....cheers

This restaurant by the Calangute beach is all about great food, good music, old-world charm, and a beautiful sea view. It's rating on Zomato took me here and they do justice. We went in the evening and order prawns in a butter garlic sauce, spicy crab claws and some Goan fish curry and rice with some drinks. The food was delicious and the service was quick and warm. Lovely live English music by the band set the ambiance just right for a charming dinner by the sea away from the loud music of the shacks. Recommended!

Was here with some local friends. What makes this one of my favorites is not just the beautiful view of calangute beach but their amazing food and service. A total delight tl try authetic goan food and a sea food lovers paradise.
Suoza Lobo boasts of the typical
Goan beachside restaurants. A hot favorite of tourisgs and locals with their typical Goan dishes like prawns butter garlic and Raechado masala grilled fish. We also tried 2 types of feny offered by this hotel. Both were decent.
Seafood was fresh and clean. Definitely a must visit. Maybe the cost of fish was too costly as compared to other hotels of similar ambience. Thumbs up!

Calangute beach has transformed over the last decade or so from a pristine clean beach to a completely commercial and noisy place to be. The only reason for me to head there is the food at Souza Lobo. The establishment continues to offer hearty Goan food served by their extremely courteous staff, many of who have been working here for years. They do have live music on some nights which adds to the charm of the place. Ignore the million people that approach you to make a tatoo when in Calangute and head to this place for their delectable fare.
What I tried here
1. Baked crabs - Perfectly cooked, tender crab meat stuffed in a crab. A must try.
2. Prawn stuffed papad - Goes perfectly with some drinks.
3. Beef chilly - Well cooked, not chewy and balance of flavours. Served with French fries. Do try this with the Poee (local Goan bread)
Taste - 4.5/5
Ambience - 5/5
VFM - 4/5 (Marginally expensive to the quantity served)
Overall a place for some good authentic Goan food. Do try.

That great place with a view - SOUZA LOBO! Have always liked this place and will always recommend it to everyone visiting Goa. Whatever you order has a great price for the quantity they serve and try their red snapper tandoor for a heart filling meal
We loved this no-frills no-nonsense shack- well, more like a shack style restaurant. It's an old establishment and the grit of age reflects on its unpolished decor. But the food is amazing.
We had the stuffed crab here, which is perhaps less refined compared to the fisherman's wharf version, but it had more crabmeat. The butter garlic prawns were again a hit.
The Caesar salad is not a good choice here.
The prawn biriyani was good- not as a biriyani but like a prawn pulao.
On our second day we had these three jumbo tiger prawns- one as tandoori, one in Goan masala and one in butter garlic sauce. All these were amazing and there's just no other way to describe it. It was an incredible last dinner in Goa.
Shout-out to our calm and charming server Bikas, who was very informative and made sure we were selecting the absolute best fresh fish.
The outdoor seating was a nice touch and a good place for couples.

I visited this place in monsoon and the weather was pretty cold. The candle light dinner setting was a cherry on the cake. The ambience was lovely. Could not try much that day. Ordered for the following:
Goan masala fried prawns - 9/10- Really spicy masala in which the prawns were cooked in. Loved the flavours.
Fried rice - 8/10 - Not much to say about this as it's very basic. It was decent. Good quantity though.
And obviously, ordered for a regular beer.
All in all good place, best view.
Food - 8/10

Souza Lobo is a Beach front restaurant and bar with a good view of the Calangute Beach in Goa. It serves a varied cuisine from Continental, Goan and other Indian food.
We ordered some French fries with our drinks and they were reasonably priced at Rs100 but the drinks were not so cheap. For the mains we ordered the roast pigling at Rs490 but when we saw it had many bones and very less meat on it they got it exchanged for roast pork instead at Rs450. We had it with poi and it was quite nicely made with a nice brown sauce and some lettuce leaves and onions. The portions were a bit small but the great taste made up for it.
We ordered an apple pie with ice cream and bebinca with ice cream. Both were very delicious but the bebinca portions were very small. At Rs150 and Rs160 each both were a bit high for the portions served.
Brilliant food this place has! Although a bit overpriced, I'd still visit this place again only for it's stuffed crabs and the ambience.
Very good experience a must visit place if you are a seafood lover

One of the gems of North Goa.
We went to Souza Lobo with family and friends. My one and half year old son was also with us. The amount of care and friendliness the staff showed towards us and specially the toddler touched us. I was really impressed with the hospitality.
Food was cherry on top. I have eaten north indian food so much that I always nothing can surprise me but the north indian food which we had was just mouth watering. Of course it will an injustice if i did not mentioned the sea food. If you are reading this and in goa or planning to go there then trust me the sea food here is second to none!!
This is one of the restaurants which made our whole trip worth it. Next time I am definitely going again

Souza Lobo restaurant is connected to the calangute beach at GOA. It's entrance is so attractive that we couldn't resist visit inside. Live music with lighting and everything was so attractive and visible from beach.
Comfortable seating arrangement for small as well as large groups. Seating available inside as well as outside in open space. Staff was very co-operative and service was very quick even though it was crowded.
Perfect combination of lively environment of Goa and food. I am just in Love with this place.

STARTERS:
#Fish Tikka Haryali: Very very unique diah I ever tried in seafood. Fresh fish was marinated in green masala and so nicely tandoored that each and every bite got melted in mouth. It was served with salad and green chutney.
#Chicken Shaslik: An amazing dish that each non-vegeterian should try here. Tender, aoft chicken was marinated so perfectly and tandoor and served with BBQ stick. So presentable dish with taste. All kudos to chef. It was served with nicely cooked herbed rice.
MAIN COURSE:
#Macroni Cheese Prawns: Macroni Pasta in white sauce with ample of fresh prawns. It was really something unique to try here.
DESSERTS:
##Tiramisu: I still crave for this. That much perfectly it was made.
Went there for 2 special dishes - Pork Vindaloo and Crab ......... Tasty stuff though a bit costly...
One of the finest seafood in goa on calangute beach. Parking easily available and the staff is very polite. One can go with family. The food is expensive but the quality is amazing. The prawns fish everything is fresh and delicious. Try king jumbo prawns in butter garlic sauce.
If you in north goa , this definetely should be a go to place on your hogging list if you want to have the real goan food .

This is my go to place for seafood when I visit Goa!
I was staying in South Goa this time but when I went to North I chose this place to have a meal since they have amazing food!!
I had the following dishes -
1. Butter garlic Prawns - I have to eat this when I visit this place! I have not had better butter garlic Prawns anywhere else! They are super buttery and the garlic taste is super yum!
2. Potato with Peel in butter garlic sauce - This was something I tried for the first time and it was totally worth it! The potato skin was crispy and the butter garlic sauce went so well with it!
3. Mushroom chilly - Even though they specialise in seafood their veg dishes and pretty good as well! This was tasty and was a great appetizer!
4. Goan bread - This is a bread that is served with meals and can be eaten by itself as well. It is super spongy and goes well as an accompaniment with appetizers too!
5. Pina colada - I was craving for a good cocktail and decided to have this one. Sipping this while watching the waves on the beach was just perfect! It was very well made and had a generous amount of rum in it!

We visited this place on our recent trip to Goa. Ordered two starters. One was Fish caferel and another baked crab. Both were tasty. The quantity was good. After that had caramel custard which was delicious. Has a nice view of the calangute beach. Overall will recommend the restaurant.
It was my first time here and the food we ordered was just so yummy. I actually didn't like the chocolate mint ice cream as I found the texture of it little wierd. Must be because it was frozen one while I am used to the creamy/goey textured ice creams.
The ambience was nice and open.
The people who were serving us was kind and informative which helped us what could go well with what we ordered.
We ordered for Baked crabs, kimg fish with Rashedo, there were some veg items I forgot the names but it was of eggs. We also ordered for goan sausages. In desert we ordered for Mint chocolate chip ice-cream and custard pudding.
Would love live love to come back here again.
Suaza Lobo is one of the famous old and nice beach shack at the Calangute beach.
We had been for a dinner an hence the seating arrangements on the beach under the stars and with candle light facing the sea was very romantic.
Had ordered calamari for starters and goan chicken curry in mains. Both were good and did justice in terms of price, quality and quantity.

The place is amazing.... !!! Located right on Calangute beach the setting is perfect for all kinds of people, be it family, couple or friends. The staff is good and takes proper care of all customers. The live music is highlight of the place. The food is very tasty and is well cooked by best of chefs. The place has multiple cuisine on its Menu. We tried seafood and Goan cuisine. It was very well prepared. Overall a great place, will definitely visit again.
There could actually be a lot of restaurants on the Calangute beach; but if it’s a combination of sea breeze and good seafood that you are looking for, then it is Souza Lobo!

Souza lobo has become a place I come every time whenever I visit Goa. This was my third visit to this place and trust be I have not been disappointed ever. Yes, it's a bit on the costlier side but what the heck. You are at one of the oldest shacks in Goa. Live music is sometimes good, sometimes it sucks. Pork chilly fry was mind blowing. I love the chicken cafreal as well. Being a big time non veg lover, trust me it's a paradise for you. Don't miss out the crab cakes. They are less in quantity but you will be in love with them.

Awesome bar and restaurant right on Calangute beach. We went there in the rains which is probably why they didn't have any shacks out on the beach. After a hearty game of football on the beach, we headed to Souza Lobo as recommended by a local, and we were not disappointed. Not too large from the inside but just right to give the feel of a nice beach_side restaurant. Very clean and well maintained. The ushers, waiters and bartenders were all very very friendly and courteous. The place got full after 9pm so make sure to be there early. A solo performer sang some great songs and played the keyboard. Beer and appetizers were what we ordered, and were overwhelmed by the portions that were served. Masala Fish, Masala Prawns and Butter Garlic Mushrooms were top class. Pricing was at the Mid-Level. Overall it was a great place to spend the evening - typical Goa style.
Wow all crab lovers in the house put ur hands up. This place serves the best, fresh and yummy crab dishes. I tried their authentic Crab Xacuti with rice and roti. It was the yummiest crab xacuti i ever had. Do visit this place when you are in calangute.

Went to Souza Lobo with my friends for a lunch.
The location is right on Calangute beach. The view from inside the restaurant is really good.
We were really hungry & moved straight to mains. We ordered fish curry rice & prawn curry rice.
Fish curry rice included fried king fish, though it was small.
Prawn curry was awesome.
We also ordered chicken noodles, mixed fried rice and pork chilli. Noodles & rice was nicely done.
For deserts we ordered cheese cakes & fresh fruit ice cream. Both of deserts was awesome.
Beach side view with tasty stuffed 🦀 and desert 😋 highly recommend .

Souza Lobo has an old world charm to it. The restaurant is situated on the beach overlooking the breezy waves. Enjoyed the view f on wherever sat. Had ordered pork vindaloo, poi and fish n chips. The vindaloo was cooked to perfection. The chewy poi was a treat. A must visit if in Calangute.

Me and my friends visited this place few weeks back and to say the least we were awed by its awesome mostly open ambiance.
We ordered
Goan Masala fried squids... i love squids and I can never have enough of them. But fail to get tasty squids but here to my surprise they tasted delicious I was really satisfied 😍
Pork vindaloo.. this goan portuguese signature dish. And even thought I tried it at multiple restaurant. Souzo lobo had it best . We had it with special goan bread called Poi and It was so damn delicious that we ended up licking our fingers
Coming to drinks that day we only ordered cocktails
Souzo lobo punch , Goan sunset cocktail and planters plunc. And to be totally honest all of them were top notch.
Unfortunately as this was election season bar closed soon and we could not drink more

Sitting right at the infamous Calangute beach this place has been serving awesome food for some 80 odd years. The ambience is similar to other beach side restaurants there are. It's restful and the breeze is soothing but the ever crowded beach doesn't quite give you a feeling of seclusion if that's what you're looking for. The staff is cordial . Goan cuisine being their specialty, we had Rawa fried Prawns- Great taste, as fresh as those can get, nicely cooked. Squids Masala which had the flavour on point but the squids were rubbery. Chonak cafreal was luscious. The cafreal masala tasted different than usual and in a good way. It didn't have much of that acerbic taste(I guess due to the vinegar)which it usually does at most places. It tasted fresh. The fish again, was fresh and cooked well. Butter garlic prawns we good but I've had better. The Rechead Pomfret was the best dish on the table that day. It didn't only look amazing to start with but was also lipsmakingly delicious. The crab xacuti was overshadowed by the Pomfret but the xacuti was really good. At most places it's either bland or spicy as hell but not here and it was served with goan Pao. To gulp all of this goan food down, beer, undoubtedly was my go to drink. Not many choices in desserts but to end the meal on a high note, I had a delicious Caramel pudding and put my tastebuds to rest.

Food is good. 👍 If Calangute beach is your place to be, this place is perfect. Sausage Pulao was the best I had till date, Honey chilli potato was yum, Crab Xec Xec had an authentic Goan taste to it and crabs were very fresh ,Chanak Cafreal was very tasty too with Chanak which was very fresh . The Prawns dishes were tasty but prawns were not quite fresh which probably hampered the taste. In desserts Caramel Pudding and Tiramisu were pretty good too. Portion wise the Prices of all Dishes were proper. Would definitely revisit to have the very amazing Sausage Pulao.👍
The dining experience was extremely good. The food , the drinks, the ambience and the service were excellent. The washrooms were clean... A great place, located right on the beach.. Would certainly recommend to acquaintances visiting Goa.
Fantastic food. Just fantastic. Ate to my heart's full 😋. Price wise fine too. The sea food platters are a must try. Size of the prawns (fresh catch of the day) was decent, just what you want. So were the deserts 🏜.. Delicious !
Must say, the team of servers are also very courteous. The only downer was the loud music which the surrounding shacks were palying. It was the percect recipe for noise. But still Worth the visit.
I just loved the food so much that I ended up having lunch and went back again for the dinner on the same day... Excellent service and excellent food....most importantly the menu is very well explained..it is a little on an expensive side...but the food is worth it.....every bite...will definitely recommend this place if you want to have authentic Goan food!!!!
Right on Calangute beach, superb ambience, with live music and fantastic mood lighting.
The food was outstanding especially the cheese nans, sannas, beef jere mere, pork chilly fry, the fish was tongue tickling and the deserts were simply out of this world.
I definitely want to visit them again

When I tried this place for the first time in 2019, I extremely loved it. They serve authentic Goan food. Every item we ordered was amazing! The seafood was so fresh and taste and flavours of everything was Bang on perfect. Their Bibinca was the best I had in the entire town!
But this time, I had a lot of expectations and it didn't deliver up to it!
The most instagrammable seafood tower is a total waste!!! It's only for show and a rip off! I didn't like the taste of many items on the platter, especially the mussels and oysters! It's just cream filled! Such a heart breaker!!
The sol kadi Pani puri was unexpectedly a hit! I have never had sol kadi before and we all loved it!
The bebinca this time was a bit of a disappointment. The size has become half! I found it too sweet and a little less flavourful.
The ambience is still really good, indoors as well as outdoors. The beach views and after-sunset vibes are really nice outdoors.
The servers are good, they are helpful.
This restaurant, located right at Calangute Beach in Goa, is a great spot for seafood and Goan cuisine. While it’s a bit on the pricier side, it’s popular among locals as well. The washrooms are clean, and the staff is notably courteous.
Evening 5 to 7:30pm is very good time spend here, you will have a sunset view in this place and in night as usual like other places This also will be good place.
Food is very good and price is average in comparison with the other pubs next by.
Go by around 4 PM, order and have your food (must must must try their crab stuffed masala papad) enjoy the live music until 5.30 PM. Step out & soak in the sunset by 6 pm. Oh btw, dont forget to break the bank on the way here, prices are steep when compared to similar class restaurants.
Tried the Pomfret Recheado, Stuffed Crab Masala Papad & Alfredo Pasta with a few drinks, Total was 3,800 (3000 food & 800 drinks). The Recheado Pomfret was 1,800 in itself (nothing mind blowing, tasted alot like ketchup, would advise you to opt for the tandoori grill version rather). Live music was lit, ambience was upbeat. Service was pleasant, thanks to Nayan.
PS : Was heading for a 3 star review solely based on food but bumped up a star thanks to the crab stuffed masala papad 😍.
I ordered chicken cafarel and Poi.
The chicken was rightly ccoked, it was tender, juicy and a have a blast of flavours. The combination with Poi is made in heaven. Its too good. I highlly recommend the place to visit.
Staff is polite too.
Decent place for good sea food , slightly pricier for the quality they provide . Service is very good and ambience is nice .
Must try : All Goan curries and desserts
Must Avoid : Seafood grill platter as they have mostly squid and its too expensive
