Located on the calangute - baga road, Fat Fish is a common name for tourists as well as locals in that area. It is occupied most of the time. It has an all time loud music so not recommended for people who like their meal in peace. The dishes are very well presented and sets your tastebuds wanting for more. Do try their various fish options. Recommended.

This is a known hangout and gets crowded on a weekend even during off-season. Prices are steep and so a large part of the crowd is not your typical baga-calangute revellers, which makes it a good family dine out place. With a huge area on offer and an outside seating place for smokers, as well as three gigantic screens, the place exudes a good vibe. To that, somebody wud think the food won't be at par and quality will be okay-okay like most over priced beach shacks. But you will be surprised at how good their north indian & sea food fare is. A place that can dish out authentic dal makhani, along with tandoori prawns is surely to be trusted blindly. A bit steep on the pocket, but perfect for a Saturday night out with full family & kids. The staff and service are also top notch, attentive, polite and prompt in spite of it being this huge a place. And yes, they pay a lot of heed to sanitization in times like these. Definity a go-to place if you are between Candolim- Anjuna.

A must eatery stop when you are in Goa. Sea-Food lovers should not miss.
One place that is always crowded and had waiting for the both the times we went there.
The ambience is amazing.
The sea food is fresh. If you order crabs for dinner, you get to see which crab is being picked.
The prawns curry we ordered had a nice goan style taste. Also, the chicken caffreal here is recommended.
Just remember that the fish thali is only served during lunch time.
They have a fooseball beside the restro area in case if the waiting seems longer. :D
The lounge area looks lit at night.

This place is basically very famous for it’s goan cuisines, but it was me who tried sort of a new experience of trying a STRAWBERRY BlOSSOM over here .And trust me guys as it’s famous for it’s Non-veg goan dishes it should also be famous for its milkshakes as they are way apart and damn good to taste and can easily make you drool for even more. The shakes served here are definitely awesome and there’s definitely no competitor for this one.
The shake was loaded with  blended small pieces of Strawberry and sincerely speaking i was able to feel strawberry pieces in each  sip as it was not so thick and also not so watery,it was just perfect.

One of the most recommended restuarants in Goa

We ordered Butter garlic prawns, Fish Thali and Chicken Vindaloo.
The butter garlic prawns served here were the best I have had in my life until now. The taste was just too good. The prawns were super fresh and perfectly cooked. The butter-garlic were on point. The seasoning was perfect too. The flavours were so-so good. I have become a fan of this place just because of this dish

Chicken Vindaloo is local cuisine. It basically chicken curry but the curry mostly comprised of tomatoes. I quite enjoyed the dish.
Fish Thali was satisfactory.

I would recommend you all to definitely visit this restaurant and try their Butter Garlic Prawns. You won't be disappointed

The food here is very good specially the seafood. We were in for lunch. Thought it is a slightly crowded place but the service is very good. The staff here is very courteous and they can suggest perfect combination of dishes for those who are new to this place. There is a display of lobsters and oysters just at the entrance. The pomfret that they serve is fresh and deliciously cooked. A definite go to place at least once when you are in goa.

Fat Fish - One of the best food joint restaurant in North Goa. It's generally crowded due to its fame amongst visitors and tourists. The restaurant opens at 12:30 and better to be there at 12 noon to reserve the place. No problem in parking, as they have ample parking space available. The ambience is great and lively. They have a wide choices of sea food to choose with and supported with a lively menu too. The seafood selected is shown to the customer first before processing in certain cases. They carry the goan taste in many dishes along with a wide range of cocktails and mocktails. They serve alchohol too in the premises.

Fat fish from the outside looks like a fancy shack in the middle of a farming village.

There's ample parking but you may have to wait for long to get a table depending on which day of the week you go.

We ordered the Chilli Chicken, Kingfish Reacheado, the Shark Ambotik, Butter Roti, Rava Fried Chonak and Chicken Biryani.

Chilli Chicken was quite the average joe and a bit too dry for my liking.

It was my first time eating Kingfish Reacheado and I was not left dissatisfied. It was a mild melange of tangy, spicy and slightly sweet flavours coupled with the gentle fishiness of the kingfish itself. The dish was wanting for more of the masala, however.

Rava fried Chonak was perfect, like I have it at home, enough said.

Fish Ambotik was had straight after, with thr accompaniment being Butter roti. This was a straight out bombardment of ambot(sour) and the tik(spice) and left me tingling. It may end up being too much to handle and hence I recommend, not Indian bread but Plain White Rice to go with this gravy to enjoy it better.

The Chicken Biryani was the final lap. After being spellbound by the preceding dishes, I expected to finish my meal on a high.

Alas, I was let down by the Chicken Biryani. Never before have I had such a pointless Biryani. It was low on everything I rate my Biryani for:
1. Aroma 2. Spice 3. Quality of rice 4. Flavour of the protein/meat

I must critique that the tables are too closely arranged and privacy is a luxury here although prices of dishes here are higher than at restaurants akin.(Even though I understand as a food reviewer that prices of dishes have no bearing on other aspects)

It is nonetheless a great place for a casual dinner with great ambience and a chill vibe.

Salt n pepper a must have on each table. Few small glitches that can be avoided and up the experience for the price. Food was good, i would expect more for the prices. All in all a good place but can do better for the customer. I would appreciate if someone asked of i wanted fries, mashed potatoes or potato celery with my steak. 5 star prices should dish 5 star services. Also no breads with the steaks. They sure can do better but then hope they don't follow brittos

I hope the owners haven't forgotten the love for good

This is one of my favourite restaurants in Goa.
Nice place. Nice food. Good music
Heaven for seafood lovers.
Hungry but Want to save some bucks? - try the Goan fish thali. The fish thali consists of rice, 3 different types of local fish curry and a big piece of fried king fish. Its a delight for anyone who wants to try a variety of local sea food at one time.

Personal suggestions:
Good for family and couples
Calamari masala fry (squid)

This is a MUST VISIT in Goa. Their pasta is gorgeous and so is the Butter Garlic prawn.
One should also try the Double chocolate cake, with vanilla ice cream.
The ambience is great and they play good music. It’s also an ideal place for match lovers. They have 2 big screens and telecast ongoing matches.
One can also pick fresh fishes (Catch of the Day) to take home or to get cooked there.

Visited this restaurant in our vacation at the new year’s time. Ordered chicken tandoor as one of us was not in favour of eating fish. Tandoor was very good in taste. Chicken was fresh. Mint chutney was very good taste. Along with that, we ordered fish tikka. It’s boneless fish served with mint chutney. It was very tasty. Soft inside and well marinated.
For the mains, we ordered Goan fish thali and chicken biryani. Goan fish thali was huge. It consists of crab, bangda and bombil in curry along with tisrya and rice. Pickle and pumpkin were also there in the thali along with papad. Every fish in the thali was fresh and very tasty.
Only thing to talk negative is about their service. It was quite slow. But considering the rush, it was acceptable.
Overall, very good option to try local delicacies of Goa.

The fish thali is a must try! There are a variety of curries to try in the thali. It is packed with flavour and it will leave you salivating. Kings beer was available here which was a pleasant surprise.
We also tried dark chocolate mousse but that was quite average.

The only downside is the service - it is slow and it is difficult to get a waiter’s attention.

I had a lovely experience here. Visited this place on a Sunday for lunch. It had 25mins waiting but totally worth the wait.

We ordered for Fish Thali, Chicken Thali, Pork Chilli and Pao, Calamari in Butter Sauce, Plain Roti and Butter Garlic Naan. Everything was so so tasty. The curries were a little too spicy for us which was accompanied in the Thali. I feel 1 thali is good for 2 people to share.

I suggest, Thali is a must try. It has a lot of variety of items in it to eat and reasonably priced.

Who ever is in Goa must visit this restaurant.

I recently dined at "Fat Fish" in Goa, a renowned seafood destination, and my experience was a bit average. The restaurant is popular for its seafood, and although the food lived up to its reputation, there were some drawbacks. Firstly, the wait time was quite frustrating. I had to wait for up to half an hour just to get a table, and once seated, it took another 15 minutes for the server to take our order. This long wait was a downside as it affected the overall dining experience. Unfortunately, I couldn't order the fish thali, which was one of the items I had been looking forward to, as I arrived slightly late for the lunch hour. This was a bit disappointing, but it's understandable that popular dishes may run out during peak hours. On a positive note, the restaurant's ambience was quite pleasant. The coastal decor added to the overall dining experience, making it a comfortable and enjoyable setting. The waiter who attended to our table was friendly and polite. He was knowledgeable about the menu and made some helpful recommendations. His service added a touch of warmth to an otherwise average experience. Fat Fish is indeed a go-to seafood spot in Goa with good food, a welcoming ambience, and polite staff. However, the extended wait times for a table and order, coupled with the unavailability of certain dishes during peak hours, did impact my overall enjoyment. I would recommend visiting during non-peak hours to avoid the long wait times and to have a more satisfying dining experience.

Our most recent meal at the popular seafood restaurant "Fat Fish" in Goa was decent, not outstanding. First of all, the wait was really annoying. I had to wait over an hour to secure a table ( probably as it was Sunday, October 22), but after we were seated, the waiter took an additional 15 mins to take our orders. The whole dinner experience was hampered by this lengthy wait. The orders were served with a significant delay. We had to wait for an hour to get some dishes. They gave about ten to fifteen minutes between each appetizer serving. That's not how food is served, particularly in a group with 3-4 kids. On a positive note, the food was top notch no doubt. I loved each item we ordered. The restaurant's ambience was quite pleasant. The coastal decor added to the overall dining experience, making it a comfortable and enjoyable setting. The waiter who attended to our table was friendly and polite. He was knowledgeable about the menu and made some helpful recommendations. Fat Fish is a well-known seafood restaurant in Goa with excellent food, a warm atmosphere, and courteous service. But my overall satisfaction was impacted by the long waits for a table and an order, as well as the absence of some meals during busy hours. To avoid long waiting time and to have a more enjoyable dining experience, I would advise going during off-peak hours.

This place is super famous and therefore there Is always a line waiting for tables. But since the place is quite big the waiting time does not extend beyond 20 to 30 minutes. There is a parking lot next to it which is always full but usually you will find a parking. Even though this place is very crowded, there service is very swift and the food is served hot. The food itself is very nice. We tried the goan thali and mussels and both were amazing. The stuffed crab was OK. Overall if you are in North Goa It's a must visit place.

I just don't give 5* because the beer was not cold as it should be. Things that NEVER, EVER should be done: put ice cubs in beer and wine, after all you're watering down the beer or the wine. The food, one dish was great but fish and ships.... come on man, even in Africa I had real fish and chips. If it wasn't for the ambience, the other food we ordered and sticking just to my fish and chips I would give 1*. Please, if you can't make it better, just erase fish and chips from your menu 👍

Fat Fish is a huge restaurant, we went for lunch and it was packed. we got a table soon enough and ordered a few beers, chonak butter garlic (which came with wedges), and masala fry calamari- which was spicy. this was my first goan food spot that i tried, and the experience was nice. the kokam beverage wasn’t my favourite- it was very candy-like and sweet. we ordered a pao (bread) to eat the calamari with because it was very spicy as is.
