This is a definate stop over every year. On the way back from Goa we always stop at this bakery. They have a limited stock of goodies if you go in directly. Better to order in advance and then visit and pick up your favourite bakery items. Their melting moments and chocolate eclairs are simply amazing. We always end up discovering something new to try and have so far never been disappointed.

Jila Bakery is mainly a takeway place run by a family in a old Portuguese house. They are known for their Eclairs, biscuits & cakes. I sat down on a bench at their house and ate the Chocolate Éclair. Most of their products contain eggs, so options for Vegetarians would be less.

The originality of the confectionary and the hospitality are the key highlights of this place. You may loose it to others if they reach there first, that's how its business runs and it says it all. I tried "Melting Moments" which had a unique coffee flavour and 'coconut cookie' which was well balanced with all its contents, you won't get it anywhere else, don't miss this place!

What a place it is !!
The best place to grab some goodies while you are in south goa. The place is little interior but I promise once you reach here you will find it worth.
The best thing is you can try the goodies even before buying them.
I loved the melting moments, apple strudel, rich plum cake and the best is chocolate eclair!!
They are amazingly yummy and do ask them to pack some of them for you so that you can eat them in your whole outing.

Jila Bakery is definitely among the top 10 bakeries in Goa and is located off the highway in the village of Loutolim. It's run by an old Goan family that has through the years, passed down the recipes to ensure consistent and quality products everytime.⁣

We tried the Eclairs⁣, Geneva Pastry, Cheese Straws and Melting Moments

This is hands down one of the best eclairs we have ever tasted. Each bite into this fluffy, light, delicate pastry is followed by an ooze of the creamy and flavorful custard centre. It's topped with a small layer of chocolate which is a little sweet but is balanced in the overall sweetness of the pastry.⁣

The Geneva Pastry as a whole had a very soft and nutty composition with just the right amount of caramelisation on the top. The texture complimented the flavor really well.

A regular cheese straw with a cheese flavor between layers of light, thin and crisp pastry. It's mostly made on order.

A beautiful blend of sugar, caramel and egg whites, the Melting Moments are light biscuits that actually melt in your mouth.

Taking Bakery in India to A Class Apart!!

Jila Bakey is awarded “Best Village Bakery” in India for a Reason and all its products confirms the same.

I have a Sweet Tooth and just like Alton Ego (in Ratatouille), I can say the same about sweet Dishes:

“I don’t like Food. I love It…if I don’t Love it I don’t swallow”

Now coming to review part. It is a House Business, where you will be greeted by members of the House. If you are moving from Margao to Ponda, you need to take a short detour towards Loutolim. Google map is very correct, about location. Without the map, it would have been quite tricky to find.

All their products are paper wrapped. We tried the Eclairs (which need to be consumed on same day) and what Great Eclairs they are. From the texture to the Flavor, all are top notch. The cream oozing out from the crunchy wrap will take you to 7th Heaven. We brought some other products from there to Kolkata which included “Apple Strudel” (which is another must have. The cinnamon Flavored apple lingers for several days and will lure you to ask for more), A nut Flavored Cookie (sorry I forgot the name. It is of absolute correct balance of sticky sweetness and crunchiness. Each of my family members have loved it. A perfect gift to bring back Home from Goa) and The Most Famous Rich Plum Cake (well no doubt this is tasty, but I loved the other products better, It is very much my personal opinion.)

I would request any foodie with sweet tooth to take this detour and have a taste of authentic Home Baked Goan bakery

Recently visited goa around Christmas, one of the luckiest thing that happened with me this year.

Got to know about this somewhere in some article, so i had to try it and I'm glad i did.

So its a inhouse bakery, with some very sweet and friendly people managing it. There was Ma'am i guess she was the baker, as she was one of the friendly person we met in whole goa as we didn't know it was a takeaway outlet, we thought we could sit and eat their but she was so nice she said 'if you like you can sit and eat in here' in her home.

What i had tried form their eclars, coconut cookies, cashew cookies, caramel banana cake and as it was near Christmas i was able to get my hands on Christmas cake and if you are a fan of Christmas its the best in town.

But their eclars are to die for, my personal favourite.

My Hungry 4.5/5.

When in goa you shouldn't go back without visiting this awesome place 😍.

I know everyone sings praises about Jila's eclairs, but it's not my favourite thing - I personally prefer chocolate ganache over my eclair rather than what I think is glaze made with cocoa and icing sugar. However, the eclair is a nice treat. What I loved, and would definitely go back for, is the cashew crumble. Perfect mix of crunchy and chewy. So good!Location is a little out of the way but the home adds to the charm of this quaint village bakery. Worth the visit.

I read about Jila in a travel magazine and I bookmarked it instantly!

On our recent trip to Goa, made my beau scooter me up from Colva. Luckily google maps were exact and we had no issues finding the
place.

It is essentially a home bakery business, you pick your stuff and scoot. In retrospect, it would have been so lovely to have a small cafe or something attached, because the property amidst the trees
is so tranquil.

I met the genial lady, who makes the goodies with her hubby. Finally I took a pack of her famous esclairs (6 to a pack), rich plum cake and cashew crumble biscuit. All of these wrapped in paper.

While my disgruntled partner, thought the eclairs were decent but not the mega hype I gave him, LOL!, I thought they were delicious. The just right sweet custard encased in the soft pastry. I am sure, they would be stunning absolutely fresh from the oven.

The star for me was the unbelivable plum cake! Soo good. I first though of sharing with colleagues on my trip back, but sorry...all half kilo of it, went into my tummy.

The cashew biscuit/brittle was very good too.

Worth a detour, if in the area...please call ahead and ensure the goodies are available, since they run out by early evening

An Amazing place for dessert and Bakery stuff, meant only for takeaway, highly recommended only for Eclairs, the best Eclairs you can’t find anywhere in Goa.

Slightly difficult to find out though, because its not any normal restaurant as it’s run in an ancestral Portuguese House, having balcony sitting

Rating based solely on the quality and the class of Eclairs

Had heard of this place from a friend. Also I was studying Goan bakery houses and could not miss this place. This bakery is famous for it's Chocolate Eclairs which I must say are heaven sent. The crispy crust has a sinful custard cream filling inside. You cant just have one of these.

Talk about door step sale, talk about tremendous mouth publicity, talk about maker’s penchant for quality over quantity and this South Goan baker’s name would come to the fore. A heritage home really, it’s no ordinary bakery. There is no shop, no salespersons, no display and no seating. Owner is waiting in the veranda of his beautiful home, you enter the courtyard, state your order standing outside, receive, pay and move elsewhere with your packets instantly. Are the products worth the hype? Well yes and no! Coconut cookies, apple strudel and couple of other items are top notch but the hyped Eclairs proved to be just ok for my taste. The filling had strange raw custardy eggy flavour which was not to my liking. Good as a novelty item but I will go back only for coconut cookies, they are that delicious.

This bakery's éclairs are just okay, but if you're into them, they'll hit the spot. It's a local hotspot – there were five folks waiting when I ordered. So, while the éclairs won't blow your mind, they've got a hometown following that loves 'em. Worth a try if you're in the area!

We arrived here in the second half hence few of the items on the menu weren't available. But, we got to try the chocolate eclairs and geneva pastery. They were courteous and guided us on the storage and carrying of these delicacies back home.

Nice place to pick up home made cookies and cakes and eclairs. Though a bit costly and the owners refuse to give small quantities, it is really worth it. Liked the cakes and eclairs Specially the choco eclairs was really really yummy Plz do try this, if ur passing through this way from the south to the centre part of Goa.. You'll love the choco eclairs for sure

The top most priority place for my Goa trip! Travelled about 30 kms to get my hands on the good stuff! Located in by lanes of Ambora-lotoulim. The chocolate eclairs were heavenly! Filled with custard and topped with chocolate. The Geneva Pastry was delicious, perfect crust and sweet. The melting moments is a must must have! Literally melts in your mouth! Do place your orders prior to going! Highly recommended.

Jila Bakers is a homemade bakery shop located in South Goa. The place is located a bit inside from the beaches. But the trip is worth it. They make only couple of products like Eclairs, Geneva Bread, Meltings, Cookies etc. The Eclairs are delicious as they are filled with custard, but the Geneva bread is out of the world. As the name says, the Meltings just melts in the mouth. Don't miss visiting this place. The ride is worth it.

Heard a lot about this place, so I had to visit it at least once. So i bought their famous eclairs. Eclairs were way too tasty and quite reasonable in price as compared to other cafes i have visited. Also tried their walnut cake. Cakes are fresh and the taste of fresh walnuts is exceptional. Great quality and quantity.

You wouldn't miss having chocolate eclairs if you visit Jila bakers. The place is famous for the same. It is a home bakery. Apart from eclairs, there are other goodies that are worth trying too. About chocolate eclairs it's filled with custard and it has a chocolate topping. The taste is good. They are not overly sweet. It has mild sweetness and soft to eat. This is a takeaway. No dining available.

Their speciality The Eclairs is a must try. Amazingly innovative and very well curated dessert you can have. The other pastries are also really good. The place has been around for mor than 50 years and the lady that runs it really knows her stuff. Plenty of famous people have explicitly ordered their desserts and you can know why. The only problem is you can't see what you are buying before you buy it. So it's hard to try things out.

Eclairs from Jila Bakery. A definite must try, these are just so creamy and heavenly. We have been addicted to this from the first time we had this years ago, even now every bite of these Eclairs make us jump with joy. The thing that stands out in these eclairs from the rest available in the market has to be the rich creamy custard filling. They are also so reasonably priced. A must try at Jila bakery at Raia.
