The place is amazing. We have been coming here for ten years. John, the host and his army of people who serve guests are very caring. I have them a 4 rating because the food is a little expensive for a shack. The menu is very vast and the food tastes so good. The beach in front of the shack is not very crowded and the water is nice. Lots of water sports in walking distance.

I am skeptical that I you will believe in me. But trust me, this is the most amazing place I have been to, Not only the food was amazing but the sweet gesture of the cafe staff was perfect. I waited for the barbecue to get started and till the time we finished with our dinner, I realised that me and my wife spent almost 3.5 hours there.
It was fun and worth the time to be there. I will definitely recommend the people reading my comment to please take my words honestly and be at this place just once. Trust me you will love it.

A hidden gem of a shack with soothing music and pleasant crowd, friendly and courteous staff and excellent food and drinks. I literally had my daily meals here the last time I visited Goa. The location is a bonus and the sunsets are to die for.

A great place to hang out and relax. The staff is courteous and helpful. The owner is extremely welcoming, warm, and friendly. You may walk in as a stranger, but will leave as a friend. Ask Johnny (owner) anything about Goa, and as a proud Goan he will do everything he can to guide/help you. We are certainly going back here.

Have been visiting this place for almost a decade now and the reason is Mr Bond / John who owns this shack and ensures his guests are felt at home and warm enough to hang out there often.
My everyday pitstop for English breakfast, juices, pancakes and coffee. Besides that my group enjoys drinks with seafood.
I love this place for it is so full of life with so many activities. Staff is sooo humble and friendly.
John also helps us with accommodation, transportation and tours.
You would never be bored of this place ever.

Sitting on the beachside with a beer and amazing sea food, what else do you need?
This unexpectedly marvellous shack hidden in the not so visited part of the calangute beach is an extraordinary little place and has an amazing view with the most exotic food.
This shack is better than any other overrated restaurant. We tried their Prawn Biryani which was amazing and so yummy, the taste of prawns with the gravy added inside the biryani was delectable and was decorated with pieces of boiled eggs.
The Goan fish curry was also good and if you love Goan fish curry then you gotta try this for sure.
The squid chilly garlic was perfectly cooked and the sauce was delicious and the prawn chilly garlic was again an excellent dish 👌
To my utter shock the Mughlai dish Paneer Butter masala was also very good and to find good mughlai food in goa and that too in a shack is quite surprising.
This shack is a must try, if you visit goa then definitely try this place.

You will not be able to see-find this place till you are in this part of Goa. Amazing location-right next to beach - nice staff n food. Owner is a gentelman. you can literally chill out in this place for the whole day, there is a pool table too :)
In season they would have these evening party- BBQ's etc. Its one of the quietest = cleanest beaches in Goa. Mostly firangs come here- so usually the crowd is good. (we stayed in Backpakers panda- another must try place. )
Try any Goan dish here, and chill on the shack with a watermelon juice or booze in hand ! On special request they will make the food extra tasty ;)

We accidentally found it while trying to find the way to the sea beach. Very nice and cool place for relaxing. Just take a chilled beer and a plate of spicy pepper chicken and enjoy the breeze.

We tried the pepper chicken, clear soup, chicken lollipops and chicken fried rice. All were good and price was reasonable.
Only downside was they took hell lot of time to serve the order. In spite of it was 9 pm and the shack was almost empty.
Absolutely love this place. It's oh-so beautiful with the most perfect view of the beach. It's calm yet so upbeat. For my 8 days stay in Goa, I went there almost everyday for breakfast. The food is heavenly . We tried the all day breakfast which includes half fried eggs , bacon, sausages, baked beans, coffee, toast, tomatoes and grilled mushrooms, beaf burger, French toasts, pancakes and the bacon cheese omelette is to die for. Definitely returning back. Hopefully soon.
This place is like heaven on earth. We lived at a place which was a walking distance from here and hence went down often to gaze at the sea. It was one of the calmest experiences ever. Beers, breezers, chilly cheese sandwich, chicken mayo sandwich and chicken pasta salad and a portable music player. No more to say on this!
The hidden gem ( I had to literally raise an error request to correct the name :P)...the only place in Goa where I went back for a second meal....the best shack experience for me. The ambience is spot on...right there on the beach, you can seat inside the shack or lounge under the beach umbrellas. They even have a pool table, a library and wifi! This is just about the ambience. Talk about the staff and they are the friendliest bunch of people, you are always welcome! The food is awesome too! I tried their prawn biriyani, noodles in lunch and both were equally good. In breakfast I tried their ham and cheese omelette which I found better than Infantaria :) with bacon sandwich and lemon tea (freshly squeezed). And these were my cheapest meals in the entire trip! The best place to laze around in Goa for me. Must visit!

This was the best shack I went to and this was even better than Souza Lobo. Stumbled onto to this place while trying to grab a bite at 2 am at Pine tree shack which is 3 mins away from this place. As they were closed we kept walking and saw Mama Cecilia's open. They were actually just having their own dinner and welcomed us to have a seat (they had actually closed up or were about to). What followed was the most friendliest bunch of people I have met who run a food joint. I ordered for the calamari at 3 in the morning and it was the BEST I had in all my days in Goa. Tried the russian broscht and loved it! Sitting on those lounge chairs watching the starry skies at 3 am in the morning, you can't describe the feeling. AND, they have a library! Would recommend this place to anyone!
I recently visited this beach cafe with my girl for a week, and it was a delightful experience! We spent a couple of hours there every day, lounging on the comfy beach beds. The service was awesome and super quick. We loved the fresh juices, coconut water, and cocktails - so refreshing! The cafe had a really relaxing vibe and free wifi, which was great. Plus, they had menus in Russian and Russian-speaking staff, which was a nice touch.
One of the best beach shacks with an uninterrupted view of the sea. Though they were busy setting up the place for the season the kitchen staff made sure we were served great food. Must try butter garlic prawns. The staff were an absolute delight, always welcoming and serving the guests with a smile.

My experience was a very pleasant one at Mama Cecilia's Beach cafe. It is the most remarkable and happening Beach cafe in Candolim Goa. John is the most comfortable, welcoming and a warm host who makes things happen at the cafe keeping everyone satisfied and in splits with his witty and funny sense of humour. He has kept various entertainment avenues (pool table, Volley Ball, Library, Big screen for watching your favourite sports) to spend good time alongwith the sumptuous meals and good music while overlooking the roaring waves of the ocean.
Enjoyed here for 4 days. Staff is really supportive. Calm area. lots of options for beer.Do try People's lager beer.
