Authentic South Indian Food and the taste is yummmmmm..... Must have if you like south Indian delicacies. Had Vada, Masala Dosa, Mysore Masala dosa, Lemon rice and Tomato rice. All dishes were perfect to the core. Highly recommended.

Located in the easily accessible market of sector 26, Sundarams offers a good glimpse of South Indian cuisine with affordable mark up on its prices. The service is well paced and the quality and taste of the food is appreciable. It is one of those places where one can easily frequent. A lot of lawyers also hang out during lunch- time for its easy access from a Company Law Tribunal right across the road from it.
I had a really good meal here. The dosa was yummy and rasam vada was fantastic too. The waiters were very nice and attentive..Great neighborhood restaurant. for some good South Indian food

A perfect place for good authentic south indian food..the upma is awesome..the variety thali is too good..the dosa also great..i have given full marks for taste and quality of food..but one mark is deducted for the service..no one bother to ask for water or anything..the waiter escapes from u..dnt know why..i ordered a thali..the waiter simply said it will take 20 min..when i gave him a look he said 10 min..and then the thali came early...

Super Sappadu place. Went there twice after intense craving for home food. Both times it was perfect. Breakfast was good the first time around with mini tiffen and payasam. Second time around had one of the best puliyogarais outside of homes and temple kitchens. Excellent experiences. The Mama and Mami running the place are so sweet. Good bonding.
This resturant is a similar one to Delhis SHREE RATNAM. Very similar menu,look,prices m and even taste. But its a good place and good food.

By and large the best south Indian restaurant in chandigarh. We had idli sambar, Masala dosa, Vada sambhar and Dahi vada. The sambhar was THE BEST. Idli was well cooked. Dahi vada was like nectar. Service was prompt and excellent. I have not had south indian better than this.

Absolutely love their preparation! From a delightfully tangy Rasam they served us with to the careful perfection with which they prepared their food, my experience there was amazing. I would highly recommend the Mysore Masala Dosa and Butter Masala Dosa.

The best place in tricity for South Indian Food- you will forget Ratna and Ratnam after going here. Authentic tasty South Indian restaurant. The place has been awarded many times. I went their unknowingly as it was adjuvant to oven-fresh. The look and feel of the flame is also authentic. The staff and the owners are from South and are very much involved in the whole experience. I saw them talking to customers and sharing pleasantries.
Ordered a veggie uttapam and a sundaram south indian platter. The entire south indian feel and taste is amazing. The pricing is also good. The place was silent and warm. Felt hot inside.

It was light and spicy. Taste was average, somewhat similar to Sambhar just that it was not that thick.
We order Masala dosa, Onion masala dosa and Dahi Vada.
And I must say all of them were amazing. Quite similar to My favourite-Saravana bhawan outlet (neither of them is in Chandigarh).
All the three chutneys were yummy.
Dahi had a smooth consistency and vada was too soft, went melting in the mouth.

This is one of the best south indian restaurant in chandigarh. Ambiance of this place will make you meet with ethnic chettinad village. We started our our dine with Rasam and masala papd and followed by one mix veg. Uttapam and one Idli. Food quality was superb. Ambiance itself was excellent. Charges were value for money. Absence of Payassam (dessert) was disapointing. Overall 4/5.

Visited last night. Very authentic and tasty south indian food u will find here. The uttapam tastes great and my favourite . coconut chuttney was good and masala dosa was yummy. The filling of dosa at Sunmarams was very good and different from other south indian outlets where it tastes like potato paste has been filled inside dosa. Good staff and great service

I was literally a kid when we started visiting here for family dinners. And till now it's a staple.
The Mysore Masala dosa, their sambhar, coconut chutney and GUNPOWDER! Everything is hell amazing.
I'm more inclined towards their dosas than any other thing yet, their uttapams are decent too.
Just 3 days back I had my lunch here and it was bliss.
A very good south Indian restaurant. Good ambiance. Gpod Taste. Courteous service.

I ordered the combo which had all 3 options. dosa, idli and vada along with butter milk. I got rasam as a complementary drink which was much like sambar gravy.
I did not like vada and idli as I never liked them at any place. perhaps they don't taste so nice to me

I have been an always fan of South Indian food and Sundarms does pacify my craving for South Indian food. They have amazing idli, dosa and vadas. If you are fan just like me, you should surely order Sundarams Mini platter which will satisfy you to the core.

Nice restaurant, food quality is good.use to visit this restaurant for south Indian delicacies. Food seems to be authentic south Indian food . even we can feel aroma of original south indian spices in rasam. Rasam is a soup like hot beverage of south indian .
Having lived in Bangalore, if there is one thing I miss about that place, it's good filter coffee. Now I know where I can satisfy my cravings for a good cuppa in Chandigarh.
We dropped in for breakfast after a tiring couple of hours spent at the hospital with my parents and husband. Between the four of us we ordered idli-vada sambhar, paper dosa, masala dosa and paneer dosa, and none of us had any leftover bits. It was a gratifying meal.
Did I already mention how good the coffee was?
I have nothing to complain about as far as their service goes, either.
What did take some points away from them was that while the overall ambiance and cleanliness in the restaurant was fine, the washroom was disappointing and smelly. Try and stay away from there and you'll be fine.

I lived in south for many years and after been shifted to Chandigarh was looking for a place where I can have good South Indian food. In the search I tried several restaurants like Sagar Ratna, Shree Ratnam, Gopal's or what not for that authentic taste of south however was not pleased with anyone. Then someone suggested me to try "SUNDARAMS" located in sector-26 and since then it's my fav go to restaurant for all the south-Indie dishes.
Food (4.5/5)- I have tried almost all of their dosas, some of my favs are masala dosa, ghee roast masala dosa, paper roast masala and rava masala dosa.
Dosas that they serve are always properly stuffed and crisp, along with that they serve sambhar and chutneys. I loveeeee their nariyal chutney and green chutney which they serve as an accompaniment with the dosas, both are filled with authentic flavors from south.
Best part of their restaurant is the rasam which they serve as a welcome drink (To have that, you have to order the food first). Its taste makes me remember of all the delicacies that I had in south.
Ambience (3/5) - It's a small and decent restaurant. Walls are painted with some nice cultural figurines. Have a section inside which has some nice wooden work. Seating provided is comfy enough for a budget restaurant.
Service (4.5/5)-Staff of the restaurant is warm and pretty quick.
A suggestion to sundaram's owner from my side is to have a proper washroom for the visitors inside the restaurant since what they have now, is kinda spooky...
Coming to the point, it is the best place in Chandigarh to have south indian food. The hygiene it offers is class. Being a great fan of south indian food, I would like to crown Sundarams as the unmatched king of all times. Way to go ✌
A place where food connects all age groups. I visited this place along with my mother on a weekend evening and ordered their special thali. Talking about the ingredients assembled in a thali all were just perfect. From upma is ghee to the slight sweetness of Dahi Wada, from the fluffiest idli to the hot served menu Wada along with the beautiful chutneys, dosa, mini uttapam, sambar rasam n to end with the sweetness of sevai. It was just "perfect".

Amazing authentic sloth Indian delicacy being served in Chandigarh. Don't know about their other outlets but i have been a regular to Sector 26 outlet.
It a small neat place, punching out good South Indian dishes.
Food items are somewhat pricey here. Saravanas serves dosas @ 150rs that too in Connaught Place and here its 170rs minus the amazing quality of saravanas.
Nevertheless dont stop from trying their Ghee Roast Masala Dosa, the best dosa of the lot they offer. Consistent crisp and amazing flavour. Thali has the authentic chennai feel to it and is throughly enjoyable. Don't miss out on the rasam served as welcome drink.

Was looking for a lunch option in sector 26 and that's how I got landed at Sundaram's!! Food is just like their name beautiful!! Started our meal with complimentary delicious rasam. Ordered 3 taste mini idli ,rava onion dosa and masala dosa. Gunpowder idlis packed a punch!! And dahi idli was something i never tasted before and it was a shining star of my meal. Sambhar and all 3 chutneys were yum!! Dosas were nicely stuffed and tasted well.. All in all aatma tript ho gayi!! Highly recommended!!
Well a very well known restaurant for authentic South Indian food. I went there with a friend who is a regular. The food is excellent,would specially recommend their dosa's. If you want a taste of everything try their platters. Ambience is OK nothing special there. Overall a good experience.
Best South Indian in tricity. Closest we can get to Sarvana bhawan. Run by a Tamil couple it's as authentic as it gets. Love the complimentary rasam and their red chutney. They eat out of the same kitchen so it's not hard to trust the quality. The waiters use caps. Delicious as well as hygienic. Favourite comfort food place hands down!

I loved this place because the food is fantastic and the service is great.We were served with a mouth watering rasam on arrival .I tried their dosa platter which was a trio of masala,Mysore masala and rava dosa and all three were fabulous.I also tried their sundarams special platter which had vada,idli,utthapam,dosa,Upma and seviyan.The entire meal was fabulous and packed a punch.Great value for money.
Excellent South Indian food. Totally authentic . It's 2nd best South Indian restaurant I've been to first being Saravanaa Bhavan . We always used to have the original masala dosas. But we came back as the owner wanted us to try the ghee roast masala dosas. And to our delight it was Delicious. It was a bit heavy being cooked in ghee but it was superb. If you go there do try their til walli sauce. It goes well with everything. Thanks for having us . We will be back.
After a long trip in North India , I was craving badly for some south indian food. So delighted to stumble upon Sundarams as i tasted my moms food here.I tried the south indian thali which was so authentic tambrahm cuisine..complete with sambar rasam dahi vethakozhambu and morkozhambu..Perfectly made and the right quantity served..Still cant believe I had this food in the other part of India.If you want to eat authentic south indian food..this is the place ...And it is also not heavy on the pocket....

Having lived in tamil nadu for 3years n having had southindian food there almost always I can say for sure this is the only place in Chandigarh where u get literally authentic South Indian food......sagar ratna is not even close....from their coconut chutney to their sambar to all their delicacies everything spells southindian magic in every bite.....personally I love their soft idlis.....this is THE place to go 4 southindian lovers!!!

One of the most authentic southern cuisine outlets in the city . The food is personally looked after by the owners and coked under their supervision. True Kerala vibes in the decorations. The vadaas are so light and melt in the mouth. Must ask for their special gun powder chutney as accompaniment to their dosas. Filter coffee is excellent. The best place for south indian food. The sambhar vada was the best I had ever had.
The complimentary rasam they served was also v tasty. Still learning about coffee but i think the south indian filter coffee served was pretty right.
Shortcomings: poor service, bad indoor lighting and the weird unbalanced plates they serve the food in. They might need to get better at presentation of food.

We ordered the "south Indian thali meals" . Had Puri bhaji, rice , sambar, appalam , poriyal,vada, vathakuzhambu, rasam ,curd etc

This is good resturant for check the South Indian food. Famous Dosa are served here with different flavours but I ordered tomato rice. All over food are good and good service. When you enter and sit on table first of all they served you a soup then he served your ordered.

Their food is authentic, unlike what you've tasted anywhere else in the city. Their preparations are always fresh and are aromatic, and light on the stomach. Their ghee roast masala dosa, malabar parantha, and filter coffee are a must try. Their seating isn't hip and is low key but definitely comfortable
