Sai Sweets is the epitome of sweet shops in Chandigarh. I’ve been going to this store since the past two decades and to this day can not get over their rasmalais. Their KULFI FALOODA is a must have. The place is hygienic, and the staff is so polite and courteous. The ambience is very pleasant and nostalgia hits you as soon as you walk past the doors. They’re the best sweet shop in town and I swear by it. I would give it 10 stars if I had the option.

The best place to have best chole bhature and lassi. Don’t stop here. Some more to come. Have ras malai at the end and if you have some space left then have gulab jamun too. Your whole day would be different after this and you will love to see the day again and again. 😅

The best homely food available in the city. Nothing extra is any of their food items. Well balanced taste makes you feel at home and feels light on the stomach. Punjabi thali, rasmalai and kachori chana are my favorites. After 1 plate of chana bhatura, i bet you will find yourself sleeping within the next 30 mins.

Epic Rasmalai! Nothing compares to it. So fresh so clean! Tastes the best. Beats all the other sweet joints like Gopals etc. who cant cook it as good as them. If you want to eat rasmalai this is the only place in Tri-city. Even their thali and Indian food is pretty good.

Discovered this gem during my recent visit. This place has Cosy, clean and spacious hall. Must try are the thalis and combos.
like rajma chawal, kadhi chawal , makke ki roti n sarson ka saag. Thali also has a option of regular, punjabi and mini ones as regular is fixed and sufficient for 2.

Punjabi thali has dal makhni, paneer, curd, salad, 4 roti, gulab jamun.

Must visit for vegetarian food lovers for authentic food , and fast service and value for money.

It is good place to go for snacks. They have renovated the place and the colours used r very soothing. We tried stuffed golgappas, tikki channa, paneer naan with gravy, amritsari kulcha and chaat papri. Preparation is good, paneer naan with gravy was not that great , rest was fine. Service was quite fast. In sweet dish we had ras malai which was well prepared. Veg food is also served here. It is good to go once in a while

We still go there for their mind blowing chole bhature and papdi chat. Or maybe some dahi bhalle and tikki chat :)

We were fortunate to have been taken to this place for breakfast since it would have been a travesty to miss out on their chole bhature. The bhatures were fine but a special mention for the cholle. The gravy was medium and tasted quite simply, heavenly. This is what authentic punjabi chole would taste like, so unlike the thick/heavy gravy that gets served delhi and which makes you feel bloated after you've had some. I would recommend going in for their chole bhature, which says a lot since it's coming from someone who wouldn't touch this dish in delhi because of the after effects. A heavenly tip - please add the sweet imli-banana chutney on the chole and savour it all to glory.

We also tried their parathas and they're not your normal sized tawa parathas. What with the filling and everything, one would be enough to fill you up. Of course, add to it the butter that they serve.

A particular sweet to take away would be their kheer kadam. You'd have to bite into one to reach the syrupy mouth filling delisiousness.

nostalgia hits hard as the childhood fragrance as well as ambiance of the place transports me back decades ....and it is so good to see some of the oldest and best flavours from the past continue to sneer at the glitzy fashionable johnnie-come-latelies. The chaat, the kulfi falooda, lavang latikas and mithais of Sai remain unmatched! They quite live up to the comfort food memories too.
Revisited for the first time since their renovation last year, and came away not too happy. The menu remains the same and just as greasy and overwritten as ever. The lack of attention towards changing food habits seems a bit too sharp and many old favourite mithais seem to have disappeared from the displays. The initial idea to get food packed was dropped because the chat quality was down, though the aaloo tikki with chana was tolerably good. dared not sample the chutneys offered because well... they seemed to have transitioned across too many tables, turning the onions green with dripped mint chutney and the tamarin chutney's bananas black. Ew! The new decor n chandigarh prints on walls lighter color ambiance still needs new energy, which seems to be locked away in another dimension as yet. Sadly, walked out without sampling the rasmalai or chana bhatura (over at 4 sir, as we were informed). Sigh!

This is the place to be if you are looking at your average non expensive breakfast..... One of the oldest and most decent eateries in town... Though the standards have gone down a bit but I usually go there for the rasmalai.... Nobody in Chandigarh can beat them for that.... The extra point is only for the rasmali and milk cake

Spacious and well lit , tables are also spaced out for comfortable seating .

Presentation of the food is so so but the taste amazing .

The only punjabi place serving kheer Kadam !!!

I also tried their Ras malai , very soft and flavourful

For me it was a great experience , would recommend this place to go with family and friends .

Okay, so this place is extremely famous for the sweets it offers. Apart from that, i've heard it has amazing samosas. Ps- Everything is vegetarian!! When I went here, i ordered "Chana Bhatura", andddddd it was SUPERRRBBB!! The chana was super yummy & the bhaturas were not too oily too. A special mention goes to banana chutney they serve along with it. It's splendid!! The green chutney was good too, but the banana one stole the show for me.
If you're a chana bhatura fan, you must visit this place. I hope they expand their snack menu a bit more. It'll be great.

Highly surprised how I missed out writing about my favourite sweet shop! Sai sweets can be termed as a part of Chandigarh's Heritage..it is grand old and has been the same since the time it was constructed, with a few modifications for the good!

The place is quite lively, u often see a group of people, mainly elderly people and families sitting here and chit-chatting or just having a re-union!

The pioneer in good quality sweets, Sai sweets has a good range of sweets and Indian snacks to offer. Among the sweets, almost all milk based sweets are quite fresh and soft and all the other sweets are prepared in desi ghee! The desi ghee sweets are not just sweets meant to satiate the sweet tooth, but even a wholesome lot of nutrition! Almost like the good old ladies of the home make for their children! The sweets have a 'grandma' feel to them!

In case you are sick and tired of too sweet or too hard or too stale gulab jamuns, then this is your place to revive your love of gulab jamuns! Your hot sweet would be cooked in proper proportions!

Sai sweet's snack counter has a limited and varied range of snacks everyday. Mainly they are Samosa, Kachori, Tikki and chat! The only problem is that they always have limited stuff and in case you get late by the evening, you will end up with chosing among one or two available options only! Well, actually it is quite justified given to the taste and freshness of their snacks. The chat is fresh, although not the best as compared to many other places in Chandigarh. Their samosa and kachori is served with chane. The paneer and dry fruit samosa is something that is worth savouring! If ever the tikki is available at the time, it should never be missed! They are lightly shallow fried cutlets of potato and boiled lbengal grams, with a thin yet crispy skin! Tikki too, is served with chane! From morning till afternoon, they serve Bhature chane and Puri Alu as well, which are satisfactory. They have recently started serving Rajma Chawal among their meals as well, however haven't tried it yet.

With an only shortcoming of limited preparation of snacks, everything here is the best! It is advisable to visit Sai Sweets before 7pm, to experience the best of what they have to offer!

Very old school and traditional restaurant of Chandigarh. Many of you might not have heard about it but it has a very long standing in the market. It is located in sector 22 in the same lane as hotel Piccadilly. The place is famous for serving snacks channa batura, Samosa, tikka, and some of the typical Indian sweets. The lunch hours are full of clients here and believe me they have a huge set of loyalists. I have tried their main dish Choley bature and delicious is one word I would label it with. Not much oily as you would find in many places and it comes with great accompaniments like tasty pickle, and banana slice chutney. The barure here won’t give a feeling of disgustful fullness which we generally have after this dish or we whinge why did we have it as it sits right on the stomach for sometime. Hot served Gulam Jamun are the best here to satisfy the cravings of sweet tooth. Prices are reasonable and service is fine. From service perspective, just be a little bit straightforward with what you are looking for with the service guys and do not attempt to confuse them with your attempts to look for many alternatives and options. If you understand what I mean and the staffs has been there for many years and they recognize their old guests very well. Definitely worth recommending and broadcasting. Must visit once and you wouldn't regret it.

Old school and Insane. Two words and that'll be all.

I remember visiting this place since I was 8 and as per my parents, I have been there before that age also.
Very limited offerings but the best ones. Limitation might be the reason of their food being SOOOOOO delicious.

Chhola Bhature. :D
Being a Punjabi, I have tried them at unaccountable places but Sai Sweets is one place I wish to visit every time we are planning for chhole bhature.
There is a specialty in their preparation which doesn't make it too heavy that you start bloating but still you don't want to eat anything after that for a long time. This is one thing, I have never felt anywhere else.

If you google Sai Sweets, the first thing which appears is their chutney with bananas in it. Well, I'm really not a fan of it.
I WAS but not now. As a kid, you might find it fancy having bananas in the chutney but now I always separate 'em all.

Their kachori and samosa with a GLASS of tea has always been all time favorite evening snack. It is too filling and doesn't come heavy on pocket.

The place is okay. Way too old school but any day better than Indian Coffee House. Indian Coffee House gives me the feeling of sitting at the "Central Perk" from F.R.I.E.N.D.S. TV Series but Sai Sweets doesn't.

Service is okayish. The waiters have a problem with young people visiting the restaurant. They seem VERYYY Friendly with gray haired and mid aged people but are very rough to the younger ones.

"Sweets" is one thing I have never tried here. Except the traditional 'Garam Gulab Jamun' and it was way above the expectations. So, after a rough service when I decide not to come here the next time, gulab jamun says "are you kiddin' me bro?"

And the same way, two decades down and I am still a regular customer. :D

Awesome!!

This is a veteran traditional restaurant of Chandigarh!! Located in the ancient sector 22, it presents a very limited range of flavorful Indian street snacks viz channa bhatura, dry fruit samosa, tikki etc.along with a spectrum of delectable Indian sweets. No matter when you visit, during the lunch hours on all working days, you will always find it jammed with patrons!

The age group that buzzes here is often the middle aged or gray haired people who have been the long time followers of this wonderful place!! It offers a real conventional seating with Indian rooted steel platters encompassed by the courteous service staff who have been working there since ages!

The best part of this outlet is the genuineness of the product that they serve! The chola bhaturas are the USP accompanied by the sonth chutney with banana slices in it along with pickle and green curd based chutney!! This gives a taste of homemade food!! The KheerKadam is just outstanding!!

Additionally, I would sate that this restaurant offers the finest jalebi in the town on Dusshera!!

I would recommend it to each one of us in case you are sweet toothed and have a craving for a delightful Chola Bhatura in an eatery away from the hustle bustle of life !!

Sai Sweets is an upscale vegetarian restaurant in Sector 22, Chandigarh. They offer wide range of food options (North as well as South Indian). They also have variety of sweets and breads available with them. We had papdi chaat which was average in terms of taste. We also had cheese cutlet which was good but it was quite rich and heavy, it may be difficult of a single person to consume all of it. The restaurant is however more famous for Chole Bhature, Puri And Aloo (Sunday Special). Staff is cordial and friendly. Seating is enough for 40 people. Parking here is paid and ample.

Food 5+ stars. Especially Samosa with Channa. Their channa recipe has not changed for years but samosa filling has changed since I knew it. Rasmalai 5+ stars as always. Ambience wise OK but generally clean. Only 1 washroom at the restaurant which has both male and female options but could be kept cleaner. Service was little slow which they compensated with extra Roti and sweet dish for us.
