There is great amount of nostalgia attached to this place. I have been visiting this place since I was a toddler. So many fond memories. I along with my parents use to come here every weekend. Nothing has much changed. The interior, cutlery, taste of food is almost the same. I love their food.
I loved their talumein soup. Lots of veggies, chicken and noodles. Perfect flavors and taste 💜 Must try!
One of my dad’s fav places for Chinese. He has been a regular customer to them for over a decade. The chicken noodles , chilli chicken and I can’t stress this enough (TALUMIN SOUP) are out of the world amazing. 10/10 recommended. You won’t find a better Chinese than this in the city.

Shangrila never disappoints with their quality. Very much like their food. Just wish they could prepare it much faster but i guess that's what keep their standards high and ensure that they are better than the rest.
For me this is 5star rated place. Food taste's delicious and ambience is also great. My visits are frequent and never been disappointed. Good variety of indo-mandarin food is available. Value for money. My favorite is chilly chicken. One of the best chilly chicken in Chandigarh.

Went out for dinner to Shangri-la plus. A very cosy place, the staff is extremely courteous. They received us and made sure we were comfortably seated. We ordered chicken manchow soup, chicken spring rolls and szchewan noodles gravy. The soup and spring rolls were cooked to perfection. The rolls were filled with the right amount of chicken and were not at all oily. The soup portions are also big and sufficient for 2 people. The gravy noodles were a bit disappointing. The waiter mentioned that the gravy would have vegetables and chicken. But when the dish arrived it was only chicken without any vegetables. There was no egg either. Overall a decent place to enjoy a sumptuous Chinese meal. The place is reasonably priced and a meal for two would approximately cost 1200/- .

We are a huge Chinese food lovers and I introduced this place to my hubby and many others. Being born and brought up in Chandigarh, I have been eating Chinese here since childhood. Since there were very less Chinese restaurants in 1990's, for us, Chinese meant Shangri-La Plus!!
A lot of things have changed over year's, but I applaud them for the quality of food they stand by.
Well my all time favourite are 'Chilly Chicken', love the way they cook. 'Cheese Chilly', the marination coating on the cheese cube makes it all the more delicious. 'Chicken chowmein', the quality of noodles, cooked to perfection with non stickiness and fried chicken pieces are way too delectable. 'American Chopsuey' is absolutely their forte and truly a mouth watering dish. I recommend to do try it out.
Other dishes like soups, manchurian, garlic noodles etc can be tried here too.
It's high time they pay attention to their interiors and ambience of the restaurant. It badly does need a makeover, if they wanna stay firm in the cat-race. If they add cocktails and enhance their drinks menu, who knows, they might attract crowd in large numbers!

The furniture and interiors are very comfortable just like the food . Been visiting it since 20years now . It was in sector 17 before then it came to 35 but my family has been fan and loyal customer. Everything is brilliant and the craving for Shangri-La Chinese never ends . The staff is also very helpful
Amazing Chinese . Ordered the vegetarian mini meal and garlic noodles . The mini mean comprises of munchurian and a choice of noodles and fried rice . Was a very satisfying meal .

Have become a fan of their Chinese offlate. I must confess they serve one of the best Chinese in Tricity. And i regret having not tried it sooner than later. Things that i have tried:- Veg.spring rolls, Chilly garlic noodles and Chicken monchow soup. Everything was fresh and piping hot. The taste is custom made for Indian palate with which you fall in love at the very first bite. Their Chinese is def a must try if you haven't so far.

I'm from Bangalore and have shifted to Mohali recently.. Visited this place last month.. Being a Chinese food lover, I was super excited to find a good affordable, authentic Chinese restaurant in Chandigarh.. Honestly, after reaching there, I was impressed even before I entered the restaurant, by the great aroma coming out of the gate.. We ordered Crispy Honey and Sesame Chicken and Sweet corn Chicken soup for Starters.. It was sooo good, and the quantity was so much that we were already full before we could order Main Course!! But we did have Chef's special Fried rice and Chilli Chicken and Chilli Fish for main course.. I must admit that the Rice and Chicken was worth every penny but the Fish was just bad.. It was bland, had a thick cornflour coating, with a small piece of fish inside, and just not worth it.. Anyway to sum it all, go downstairs for a better ambience, because the entrance sitting arrangement is crowded and noisy with an insect repellent machine scaring the crap out of guests every 5min.. Great food but average ambience..

We've been going there since a long time. Have always had a good experience as far as the quality is concerned. The guantity has decreased but still fine for the prize it takes. Whenever we think of chinese this is the first restaurant that comes in mind. Chicken talumein soup is simply amazing which is served a huge bowl, have never tried this quality soup anywhere else. Our favourite order is shangrila special chowmein and american chopsuey which serves me and my kids for a stomach full. Chicken garlic noodles is also worth trying. It has a good sitting capacity and very pleasant ambience. Over all a nice experience
My father loves it. I love it. Hence we're a regular here. I have always had a good experience at Shangri-La when it comes to food, its quality and quantity.
However I've always found this place way too crowded for the staff they have and they always seemed to be over worked to me. So obviously the service used to get a little too delayed.
But on my last visit I was quite surprised to find it almost empty with just two tables occupied, thus the service picked up.
Blame it on liquor ban, it proved to be a blessing in disguise for us. Enjoyed our Garlic Noodles, and Chilly Chicken in schezwan style and we were out of there within no time.

Shangri La is one of the oldest Chinese restaurants in the city and has a special place in my heart. The food is pretty good if you know what items to order here and I hate to admit it but the service is really slow at times.
I absolutely love the Ye Fu Chow soup here, it consists of a bowl full of Chicken, Sea food and fried Noodles(I think) and while it's a soup, it feels more like a meal! I would definitely recommend this unless you're not into sea food.
My second favourite here is the American chopsuey which has crispy noodles with chicken in a sweet sauce and and egg on top. Don't try this if you don't like your main course sweet (like some of my friends)
I would recommend the Garlic Chicken or the Chilly Chicken, along with the special choumein as an alternative.
Definitely stay away from ordering kebab starters, I didn't like em at all.
For vegetarians, the options were more limited in my experience, but I've only tried ordering vegetarian food here once, so I'm not sure.

Dinner at a restaurant which had been really recommended by my host's family had me really excited for some interesting chinese cuisine.
Ambiance wise it looked like a really nice restaurant. The kind that has frequent patronage by a families from this city.
Coming to the food, we ordered yee fu chow soup-a chef special and american chowmein and garlic chicken. My vegetarian friend had a sweet corn soup and an egg chowmein.
Food was great and the quantity was good. I specially would recommend the soup, it's definitlely worth it.
From what I saw the choice for a vegetarian is very limited. So beware veg folks, not going to be a nice experience for you guys.
Service was a huge disappointment sadly. The menu card said that it would take time to get the food and I accepted the long delay. But what really annoyed me and my friends was when the waiter didn't serve us our food and at 11pm we were probably the last 3 groups having dinner. The service wasn't busy clearly and yet seemed disinterested in serving us our food.
Bill came to around 1300 bucks with a discount as well.

My first visit to Shangri-La dates back to, believe it or not, last century. It used to be our all time favourite during those days and once a month visit was must. With time, the frequency has totally reduced. But still they manage to serve good food, though you won't find much crowd here. Non veg talumein soup, manchow soup, crispy honey potato/cauliflower, crispy fried sesame baby corns, Shangri-La special chicken and chowmein, Chilli chicken in garlic sauce, Scehzuan Chicken, hot and sour vegetables, veggies diced in hot garlic sauce - these are highly recommended dishes if you visit.
Shangri La that truly signifies the meaning, Chinese. Undoubtedly they serve the best Chinese in the tricity. No doubt there will be lots more of such type doing justice to people and the venture they have invested into, but Shangri La has got the real taste worth spending money on. They serve all kinds of chinese dishes with never ending list of mouthwatering menu starting from Dumplings going till the best desserts. They have everything on their list to delight their customers.
Extravagant team of people serving the customers, we ordered Tofu Salt paper which was amazing and had a good balance of spices within it. We had Veg Dim-sums both fried and steamed. Moving to the main course we had Spicy chicken salad, Tripple Treasure Non Veg which was totally value for money.
The overall experience was totally amazing, I would totally recommend them to the people out there, give them a try and you will never repent for your decision.
I suppose the first authentic chinese place in town and still is. Nothing can beat this place in terms of food not ambience but food is delicious. Dishes to look out for would certainly be American choupsey, chicken noodles, drums of heaven and chilli chicken. Prawns can be a part of the menu too. But these are the dishes which win the deal

They serve you with a good portion of food and great taste. Talking about the decor its simple and i think need a bit more lighting but although its good. Services are bit slow. Food will always have the same taste every time you visit this place.

Up in the north a calcuttan still craves for her doze of Chinese! A friend suggested Shangri laa and I was there for lunch. A very typical Chinese restaurant sort of decor which reminded me of Our China town back home. We choose to sit in the basement as it was quieter there. The chilly noodles was yumm but id prefer it with some vegetables,perfect dry chilly chicken, the veg fried-rice was well made and our last dish vegetables in some sauce was so so(over use of cornflour). The only issue with the place was the food took good 50 minutes to come and the service was so so. I still would go back to this place whenever I'm in town :)

Best place to have an authentic Chinese food in tri-city. Tried their Talumein Soup and it was so delicious and didn't find that taste anywhere else till now. Quality & quantity is totally satisfactory. And if talk about ambiance it's cozy & nice. undoubtedly best place to try Chinese delicacy.
The way Chinese food is meant to be served. I have been all over the world, and I count on one hand the best Chinese places, and this is one of them. Good solid dishes, huge amounts of food, delicious and tasty. Sweet Sour Chicken was the best, Cantonese style (which means it was rich with veg and chicken). Not a single complaint. Will be coming back.

The best 👍💯 and oldest place in town 🌇 to have Chinese. Authentic Chinese taste served well with good nice cozy ambience. The place became much more happening after its recent renovation. They served all Vertiety of Chinese, and sea food. If you are a sea food lover then for you a must visit place. They serve alcohol too. Nice family👨👦👧👩👴👵ambience, good sitting place with sophisticated family crowd. Mostly crowded on weekends. On some visits in feel that their service is bit slow but taste 👅 worth that wait. Tubka and soups are my favorite from their menu. For Chinese a big yes for this place.

Shangri-La Plus, Sector 35 B, Chandigarh. It's an authentic Chinese restaurant, previously it was in Sector 17 C, Chandigarh with the name and style of Shangri-La, was quite popular and one had to wait to occupy a table. We patronise this restaurant since 1987.
This is a favourite Chinese restaurant of ours. Chicken Talumien Soup is our first choice and we don't find it anywhere at par with theirs. Chicken in Garlic sauce is another favourite of ours.
Quality of food is excellent and quantity is satisfactory.
A couple can enjoy a nice starter like Fried Chilly Fish Dry, Talumien Soup and Chicken Chowmin for about INR 1100/-.
Beer is available to enjoy your food and company.
