great taste! best place to have soups
Goldie’s Roost had a carved a good name for itself in the late nineties and early millennia. Located in the upscale market of sector 8, it was a go to place for families driving by and picking up as well as a place for younger crowd to have some snacks while sitting in the comfort of their cars. The restaurant has its own limited sitting area as well.
The non- veg soups, in fact its non- vegetarian preparations have been liked a lot. However, with time it seems to have lost a lot of its ground. For me, it is still one of the good places to enjoy a bowl of soup.
Perfect place to grab your winter soup and go for a gheri on gheri route. This place has managed to serve us great soups for soo many years.
Perfect place to visit when you are on the ghedi route cuz they provide handy snacks and amazing soups on the go.
Their chicken sweet corn is amazing and their chicken manchow is also amazing, chicken donor literally I grew up having them since 2006 and still they taste amazing.
Momos tandoori chicken its all just easy handy food and they all taste yum. You can enjoy it on the go on your way to ghedi and you will crave for more..... very old place in chd but still serves one of the best on the go food ......
Craving for mutton keema?
This is one place which is my all time favourite for mutton keema naan ..
Naan n gravy is amazing and naan is filled with good quantity of keema which makes having it worthwhile

Soups are something which gives you craving at times and you hardly find good places to have sot n sour n minchow soups. They offer veg and non veg (by adding chicken in same veg soup) variety of soups but only excels in good hot n sour. Tomatoes are better at good fine dine restaurants. But their hor n sour is good.
It’s awesome wow great wonderful taste yummy delicious food 🥘 healthy fresh ingredients good service good food 🥘 amazing food great service good atmosphere
Goldie’s is a place where you can get best chicken.I live in Delhi and whenever I come to Chandigarh I always eat chicken from here. It’s best is all chicken doner, Butter Chicken and Keema naan.Must visit this place.
Have tried paneer seekh kathi, chicken kathi, butter chicken meal for one till now.
I like the kathi rolls of this place basically!
If anybody has better experience of kathis than this place, please share you experience.
Place's ambiance is decent, i like dining at such places when it's not crowdy as it allows a peaceful and calm environment to enjoy ones meal.
Their serve freshly made soups are really good. The amount of chicken in the non veg soup is good enough to deal with your hunger. One should definitely try them. Value for money.
This is the place for DONOR KEBABS and SOUPS (from Soups R Us). Though I recommend going in the night as the kebab is made fresh than day. It may be different from other donor kebabs you would have had since it is minced chicken in bread.
The soups are delicious except Lemon Coriander Soup which had too much lemon. The best is VEG MANCHOW.
They have a seating area as well.
Very nice concept American casual dining with variety of food and live soup station.
Nice family atmosphere.
Ambience also good
All the best for unique product
Good luck

Over priced every thing. I thing that's why people are not coming. I rated 3.5 only for donar kabab. That only thing i liked there. Cleanliness is average
Had soup veg munchow great place in sector 8 chd recommend you to try the place/ takeaway and dine in 😌😌😌😌😌❤️🌈✌🏽🎸visit and try other delicacies also
Whenever i fell like having a chicken doner i head to this place.. This place serves amazing doner with value for money and proper hygiene .
A decent little eatery in sector 8 chandigarh is one of the oldest shops in chandigarh famous for it's soups and north indian snacks, main course. Now comes the best part, goldie's is one of the very few places which offers seating, all the other food joints are takeaway joints except lava. This review is about food as there is not much to talk about the ambience, service and interiors. To be honest, i just don't care about them, i visit this place for its tasty food when i'm very hungry and craving for cheap and delicious north indian meal. And then i just hog on and on and on and on. When i visit goldie's i mostly order a meal for one combo( veg or non veg depending on my mood). Their food is cooked to perfection, the butter naan, cheese naan, chicken or paneer whatever the dish may be. Though, i didn't like the soups much( i tried the sweet corn chicken soup) there was nothing great about it. Then, coming to the meal i ordered kadhai chicken with butter naan which was very good. Just the way i like it. ❤ So i'll be giving them a 4/5. 😁
Though, i don't care much about the service, ambience, interiors but they do matter, none the less, the food is great. 👍
The ambience is good. Food is great specially the soup and snacks. The main course is great too. Butter chicken, afgani chicken and tandoori snacks are great here.
had the sweet corn chicken soup recently and loved it!esp with a nip in the air in the evenings these days, it worked perfectly well after a 5km walk!have heard great stuff about this place, looking fwd to more!!!
A decent eatery in Sec 8 market of Chandigarh
We had their cream of veg which was really good
They also have many other options in soups
We also had their garlic noodles which was good in quantity as well as taste
The best part -
It is the only restaurant which provides seating in sector 8 market
One of the only places in the sector 8 market which offers seating. The mutton and chicken donnier are somethings that will keep getting you back. Prompt service courteous staff and ample servings makes it a great choice when you are in the area.
What: Chicken Momos
The momos were palatable, and with a soft skin( as we like it) but the filling was lesser than it shouldve been, and also the quantity wasn't satifying for a price of 180 inr.
Need the best soups in Tri-City prepared in a jiffy and delivered to you waiting in your car ? Head to Goldie's Roost. Well that is what I associate this outlet for more than a decade. A must visit during my visit to Tricity. The soups are served properly packed with all different types of sauces and are delicious. Great value for money too. A full 5 star for me 👍
#HonestView
Being preferably a vegetarian 90% of the times when I order something for myself its pure veg. But the ambiance of the very place forced me to go for the kukkad! and I must admit I liked it, and hence Goldie's roost nailed it for me.
Utilization of space does not feel great and there could have been more to the place. The restaurant cannot be called pocket friendly and for a person like me " affordable once a month".
Ambiance : 7/10
Service: 8/10
Course : 8.5/10
Being a vegetarian, I usually chose pik-n-move over Goldies, because of the number of choices I get. And as the popularity suggests, the food was great.
The Dal was quite salty but they changed it.
The breads are amazing. The tikkas are to die for.
The experiments like crunchy onion paneer turn out to be excellent.
Their new initiative of soups-r-us is just Amazing!
Already in love with their tomato soup and veg monchow soup.
It's a good place to have quality soup. The quantity however seems less as per the price but it's worth it.
Good blend of salts and spices. I personally like it salty so added a pint of salt and half tea-spoon soya sauce in it and it was purrrrrrfact.
I ordered chicken minchow.
My friend ordered sweet corn, and desired it to have more corn in it.
Fantastic soups, and Tandoori chicken. Easy on pocket and great quality. A must stop location once you're on Geri Route! No more words to say!
Great food and their all chicken donor kebab is out of this world .. the best in town I guess . So is their little combos be it butter chicken combo or kadhai paneer .... Overall a good experience.... Service not great though even very slow at times.
.
Good for hot soup and momos. Though i find the prices are little high. But it tastes good. Nice stop for soup and appetizers. Main course are okay.
Ordered Veg Minchow. According to its price I.e ₹65 it's worth.
Will try more soups and others things in coming days .
Interior is nice and staff is sweet as well. I like the way they have displayed the soups.
👍
If you love doner kebab done well this is a place you can try. This review is all about food, as there is nothing much to write about the interiors. Looks like a railway waiting room. The waiters keep coming and going out of the place. You have to keep waiting for the waiters to come in to demand something. No permanent attendent to listen to you.Food is what matters to me most. So , kebab is thoroughly filled with diced chicken. Which is cooked to perfection and has a nice roast flavour. Masalas are perfectly balanced. Bread is amazingly fresh and is soft and moist. The green mint chutny is very tasty but is given in a very little quantity, doesn't matter you can demand some more.I had been looking for a perfect doner kebab and here I found.....Ting🎸
If you are missing shaadi ka khana then Goldies is the place to eat. if lucky you get a parking bang opposite to the shop and a server serves you in the car ( a combo of drive in and dine in ) . my staple favourite is chilli chicken. the soup are a bit high on salt / most of the food is - so you need to tell the kitchen what you want
verdict: venture only if not counting calories.
Its been so long since ive been here. . . after ages i was here just for doner kebab . . we order the same for everyone but flavours were completely off balance today . . the quality was there but taste was completely off beat . . not sure will visit again or not
We ordered soups from soups r us. The soups were perfectly balanced, the flavors were rich, the consistency was a little thick though. The starch content can be reduced. The soups was generously loaded with perfectly cooked vegetables.
For chicken soups we felt the chicken quantity can be increased. But it is still fairly good.
The soups were really good, definitely recommended.

Taste: 9/10
Service: 8/10
Value for money: 10/10
This review is solely on basis of the soups I had. Had ordered Tomato coriander and chicken minchow ..
Quickly served in the car , perfectly hot enough to eat .. taste was great and set a tone for me to try some more cuisines in the ever expanding sector 8 market.
Prices were nominal and hope to pay a visit to try their other dishes soon.
This would be my first review for Goldie's Roost since i have been there customer for more than 3-4 years. Normally, i order my meal through delivery service. Food is nice but a delivery service is quite slow. It would be really great if they could improve the speed. Eggs fried rice with chicken Manchurian are my fav. It is super tasty. Sometimes if im in a mood for Indian tastebud, i go for butter naan and butter chicken. They are also yummy.. The staff are nice and the owner is friendly. I'll definitely be their customer as long as i'm in India :)
Ordered a chicken seekh wrap which was quite good..my bad that I didnt request for less spices but otherwise the ingredients were balanced..the chicken was juicy and ambience is good too..
One of the oldest joints in Chandigarh!!
Go here for their keema naans!!!
Every time I've been here that's all I've had and not bothered to order anything else!!
A must have is the keema naan + gravy!!
The place has not lost the charm of old days as it is located on the famous geri-route of Chandigarh. Ordered chicken soup, a cheese naan and felt it as good as always..... Must visit for veg and non-vegetarian food.
Such great food and service everytime I come around here. Although the restaurant is not big, the variety of food they offer is just fabulous. The seating arrangement is alright. My personal favourites are Chicken Lababdar and Chicken Hot Garlic. I also recommend the soups, which are really good. Plus, you've got Superdonuts right next to this joint to have some tasty crème donuts.
The Man Who Felt The Food
+3.5
Ordered for a butter chicken and garlic naans, the garlic naans were fine, the butter chicken can be better . It's not bad but definitely can be better.
A take away place. Has a small dining area. You would not be able to create rush at this place. Famous for its take away orders. Very convinient. Park the car, glow the dipper and the service man pops in. Try Butter Chicken.
A great place to procure "chakna" when you are planning a night out with friends ! . honey cauliflower is must try. The service is a bit slow and ambience is somehow not up to the mark.
One of the oldest restaurants in Chandigarh with air conditioning, the food quality has always been maintained , the taste isn't excellent but the quality is always the same which is a good thing ,goldys must improve on their rolls and on a few Chinese dishes . Overall an established brand
Really enjoyed dinner here. We had butter naan, roti, and pander lababdar in their air conditioned indoor area. The service was good, very attentive staff.
Old place famous for tikka's.. i enjoy their chicken kathi egg rolls, nd they always serve fresh!! Sitting is not enough here so one can park the car and enjoy the fresh and hot food!!
Really good north Indian food and the service is commendable.their portion size is good.we ordered chicken sweet corn soup which was good, and chicken lababdar along with roomali roti and pudina paratha.the chicken was cooked perfectly with the right amount of flavours and was not covered with oil/butter (unlike most places). The roomali roti and pudina paratha were soft n freshly made.the service is prompt.
One of the oldest restaurant... Superb food...... Best roasted chicken.......
Situated in the inner market of sector 8, this place is a sure shot place to visit both for vegetarians and non veggies.
The place has ample seating capacity which one does not find in other shops in the vicinity.
Now coming to the food part-the starters are yummy and the best is their soups.one should try their monchow soup for sure..they serve quality chinese, north indian food which is both delicious and in ample quantity.
Rates are justifiable with the quality, quantity and service offered.
One of the best and the oldest restaurant in Chandigarh. Situated in the inner market of sector 8. I've been there many times and the taste is the same.
The place serves authentic north Indian food. Finger lickin paneer naan and the gravy served is the best. Soups are also amazing.
Seating is a bit cramped and the interiors are no eye popper.
