Not a fancy bakery like we have these days but love this place for their swiss rolls and their patties. Also, So many fond memories attached to this place
One of the oldest bakery serving awesome food. I have been visiting their shop from 2009. It is favourite bakery of me and my daughter :)
Best pastries in the world.
The best bakery in Chandigarh.. A must visit.. There swiss roll reminds me of those yummy fresh Birthday cakes we used to eat as a kid.. Me and my friends love this place
The true flavor of the bakers. Natural and pure. Best in town. It's famous for it's swiss roll. Butterscotch pastry and breads. Cheese patties one of the best
Childhood memories and bachpan ka taste.. Serves the best swiss roll always fresh n creamy.. Great taste and happiness at an affordable price with best service.. I can never satiate my hunger with just one.. Two is d minimum to make me smile..
If on geri route, don’t miss their Swiss-Rolls and Patties. They make dessert of fresh cream. It reminds you of those cakes we had as kids. Recommended.
Love love love their Swiss rolls - more of nostalgia & this is the only place that serves the old style Swiss rolls with ultra soft cake rolled in cream. Their paneer patties are delicious too, so fresh and buttery.
Best Swiss Rolls Ever. Great mouth watering taste and you can never have just one roll. You are definitely gonna buy another one.
The nostalgic childhood fragrance of the bakery. Just loved it.
This is one of the best and the oldest bakery.
They have one of the best wheat n multigrain bread which is actually made of what they claim.
Their atta biscuits are also a must try.
The cream rolls are also one of the best in town.
It is One of the oldest bakeries of chandigarh. Located in sector 10 on the main road. This bakery offers a wide variety of products which include pastries, swiss rolls, cakes, biscuits, chips and other bakery items. It is quite famous for its Chocolate Swiss roll. It serves one of the best swiss rolls in the city and that too at nominal prices. I had been to this place for many a times and everytime i visit sector 10, i try to have a swiss roll from this place. I have tried almost all the rolls and pastries here and believe me they are amazing. The chocolate swiss roll is the best, and is made eggless, only issue is the way they serve their products and also they don't have a sitting capacity.
Overall a must visit place
Located alongside the willow cafe, it is a must visit bakery for those who have a great liking for sweet tasting foods and have an affinity for swiss rolls. On the inside, it has a very little space to accomodate people so one can probably get things packed.
Got vanilla swiss rolls, chocolate swiss rolls, Kulcha, brown bread and paneer patties.
Their swiss rolls are the best one could get in chandigarh. Not too much sweet, proper froth and their texture is also really very good. Chocolate swiss rolls are my personal favourite among the two options.
The paneer patty was just a random pickup and it was surprisingly very tasty. It had a crispy crust and had decent stuffing of masala paneer.Must try (Y)
Their breads are quite fresh and are made fluffy from yeast. Quite reasonable prices all in all. No such ambience all together but its their swiss rolls that makes me visit this bakery again and again and again.. :)
This place offers great cakes and bakery items. At first it doesn't seem like a fancy shop so you wont feel like eating here. But once u try it u ll be bowled over by the tasty and fresh cakes. Regular buyer of cakes, breads, fruit cake and pastries from here. each one is flavorful and has freshness. not heavy on tummy as the cakes are very light.
worth trying!! (And it isn't expensive, choco truffle cake 450 only :) Happy eating!!
The place is really good in terms of taste and price. They have really yummy bakery products. I have fan of their Swiss rolls, Pastry and biscuits. Everything feels fresh always, really a nice bakery. I agree there is nothing too gaudy or innovative but taste wise everything is fresh and yum :)Happy Eating :)
Quite a known place specially for its pineapple pastry and Swiss roll. I went to the capital bakery last week, felt like having a quick snack so I picked up a few Swiss rolls and an aloo patty and one of their paneer patties. Everything was better than another. Really liked the swill roll though. Worth going to if you're hungry and looking for a quick snack and nothing that hard on your pocket.
Capital Bakery was originally situated in Sector 11, in the same location as Cafe Coffee Day. However it moved to Sector 10 a long time ago. This is one of those places that one gets attached to because you either live in the area, or you have spent your entire college life bunking classes and enjoying Patties and Pastries here, or quite simply because the humble Uncle ji at the shop is always kind, courteous and forthcoming in treating you as a friend more than merely a visitor.
I still remember the Coconut Pastries that they used to make, back when I was in school. And although they don't make it anymore, the cakes and pastries you get here are nothing short of great. They're not the fancy Nik and Monica's fare, but the humble Pineapple and Chocolate varieties.
I was once chatting with the owner of this bakery and he had this tremendous pride in their preparations and expressed his inability to compete with bigwigs like Nik. Just then, someone came in the shop and started chatting about how he was a regular here during his college days and that for the past many years, he's been living abroad. This goes on to say the kind of connect such small eateries create with their customers, something which brands will never be able to achieve.
Let me just say this, you have to try their humble fare. Its delicious and filled with love, above everything else. There are a few things that go beyond business, glitz and marketing and you will experience it here and in many such similar bakeries and shops around the town.
