Taste 4/5
Value for money 4.5/5
Purple rice is one my favourite places to go when i am craving for dimsums and noodles especially .The chicken dimsums here too die for ,the chicken were tender and juicy . The dimsums were delicious and I absolutely love them . Another favourite here would be chilly chicken and noodles ( box) they have a takeaway box which is quite convenient to carry and also eat . The noodles were perfect cooked and the chilly chicken was really nice with the right amount of flavours ( not very spicy) I also had the masala maggi here which was decent . Overall it is a good place for a quick meal . Good experience
I just loved the food. I like my food to be filled with fresh veggies, and it was just according to that. Their Purple Treasure Soup was amazing. Even the Red sauce pasta was good.
Looking forward to visit again. :)
decent place, decent food.... quite, calm and decent service as well.
a nice once in a while kinda place to hang out at, and have decently cooked chinese with a good service time!!!
Biryani was awesome and the beer offer was great . The ambience is not that cool but ovrall it was great . We had couple of beers and biryani as we were craving for good biryani so we found out purple rice . So anybody craving for good biryani then u can sit and enjoy at purple rice . Must try.
This place was on my list since long but somehow wasn't happening! Recently I visited and had a great experience. I went with family for dinner. Must say it's a great place to go to for casual dining with friends and family. The staff is very welcoming. And the food is LOVELY. We ordered simple indian food Paneer tikka masala, Dal tadka and rotis and naans. And Phad Thai (flat thai noodles with vegetables like beans, babycorn etc) which was very sumptuous. The portion is very filling. And the service is fast. Very pocket friendly. Great place to dine on a casual night. Go for it.
Phad thai noodles 4.2/5
Jasmine rice 4/5
Sliced chicken in oyster sauce 4.5/5
So I totally loved the food at Purple Rice. And the ambience is also good.
Went there just to try some Chinese, but was really impressed by the fine taste as good as any fine dine restaurant, but the pricing was just right (actually much lesser than expected. Courteous staff and good music add more fun to the great food. The Kung pao chicken was amazing and really authentic. Good place for an office treat/ team dinner.
Visited Purple Rice for our anniversary . Awesome hospitality :) Customized food . Loved peanut sauce pan fried noodles. A must visit place for Chinese food :)
It's really nice place for foodie so nice amazing food so owsome atmosphere I really like this place service staff is too good I recommend to my friend and relatives to come this place and enjoy food
Love the environment here, had tried couple of times, always loved their platter. Quality of food was good but last time I diint like much . Waiter was very slow.
We went there for lunch with a thought of some Chinese. We had ordered Veg Chop Suey and Veg Hakka Noodles. Here's what I had found
1. Ambience was good. One can choose to sit on long sofas or round table chairs. Either way it was not bad.
2. Service: As it was afternoon , there was no rush as such. But they took time to cook. Moreover, aroma from their live kitchen was converting our seconds into minutes.
3. Food Quality: Finally the food was served. Presentation was good. Taste was also good albeit I couldn't relate the taste of food what I had earlier at other places. Still it reminded me that I was in Chandigarh again but not in Gurgaon ( where not a single food joint serves the actual cuisine for what one orders for).
PS: Ratings can be 4 but being in Chandigarh, I'm sure I can get better than this.
With a Great Decor and well and good ambience ,Purple rice offers you a limited range of Chinese cousine and i must say i was amazed with the food quality.although the quantity was not so large but the taste was awsome.
we ordered their special fried rice with chilly pork and it was very much well cooked and the service was very swift and good.
A must visit place for indo chinese cousine lovers
Nice place and good ambiance.
Chilli wings are a must try though quantity is less but still a good choice.
Courteous staff as well, But empty most of the times

It is a good place to hangout with friends. Being too close to my house, I have visited it like many times. The food they offer is good enough. I like the mocktails more.
Nice food. ordered garlic noodles with chilly chicken. though not the best chinese in town but one can visit the place once atleast. service was good.
Purple rice!
A good place which i chose to treat my self with some oriental dishes.
I have visited this place earlier, but yesterday was bit disappointing there were no quick bowl forms anymore. Though there was no compromise with the quality of the food. Service was quick and efficient. Ambience and music went hand in glove for lifting your mood.
Purple Rice brought in the revolution in Chinese food chains of tricity with their small restaurant in the inner side of sector 35. It was quite appealing to see the comfortable cushioned couches lined up in a small room, with soft purple lights and also Chinese artefacts right at the entrance.
Now Purple Rice is in a JV with Peddlers since about four years or more, and Zomato reminded me by sending a food voucher that the review for newly situated Purple Rice is long pending.
In the new location, I have had experienced two good meals, one was a lunch an year back and a cosy dinner recently. While you can see people huddled up outside peddlers' entrance, Purple Rice gives a warmth which ensures you are about to have a really good time. Low lights and nice music, and the same old favourite comfortable seats were a good set up for a Chinese restaurant, although nothing compares to the old decor.
Surprise came in, when the menu had even some Indian food options, the same which were once available at Heritage's restaurant. We stuck to our old favourite Chinese options.
Purple treasure soup, like always, satiates the soul with its rich flavour and burnt garlic garnishing. The same goes for the Purple Fried Rice, which doesnt even need a dressing of various sauces, since it has a flavour of its own. The choupsey was basically the sweet American Choupsey and was more tangy than usual. The Thai curry is a rich curry, not too runny but having meagerly added chicken. It is often served with steamed white rice which has an aroma of jasmine essence.
Among the wide range of starters, I have always been fan of their Chicken based starters, but since a lot has changed in my diet habits since I visited Purple Rice last, so I opted for the Kung Pao Mushrooms, which was a sheer delight with fresh button mushrooms glazed with a spicy sauce.
All time favourites would be the Hakka Noodles and the Pan fried noodles. The Pan-fried noodles served here are the cantonese noodles cooked in the dark sauces, having a bit of spicy flavours.
An year ago, Purple Rice used to serve combo meal platters which had a soft drink, a serving of ice cream, one starter, one main course serving and one accompaniment of either rice or noodles. I wonder if they still have that option during the lunch hours, since that was one of the best deal where everyone gets everything of their choice.
So once again, the Chinese casual diner is gaining momentum with its food, ambience and most of all, its prompt service. Would love to visit again for their signature dishes.
I went with my sister to Purple Rice after a coupon I got from Zomato. We ordered chicken and naan with lime soda. The ambience is just super classy and so is the service. The way they served the food was just pleasing to watch and we really enjoyed the meal. Chicken especially was just amazing. Purple rice a must go to place if one wants to relax and have good food.

Excellent flavours! I'm not a fan of Asian food, but Purple Rice changed my opinion. We had ordered a Schezwan styled chicken curry with rice and some sweet chicken snacks. We appreciated the experience even more because of the price. We had lunch for two for a very reasonable price! That's very rare for nice restaurants in Chandigarh. My husband ordered a mug of beer for about 70 INR. That's a steal! The only thing that could be slightly improved, is the service. We didn't find the service to be bad at all. We were served very nicely and how it's supposed to be! No complaints! But we have been to some restaurants in other areas of the country where they provided us with remarkable service. Restaurants that went beyond our expectations in regards to service.. That really left a mark on us as customers. So in order to help Purple Rice achieve even greater heights, which they definitely deserve, we'd like to mention this is a feedback point :) Other than that; kudos to Purple Rice for making me a fan of Asian food! Can't wait to visit you guys again! :)
This place was one of my favorite Chinese getaways and I was devastated to find out it got shut, lately I found out that it reopened! The food here is mouthwatering.. Chef Hemlal, he's totally the man!!
I ordered chicken in chilli bean sauce, chicken in garlic and vegetables in schezwan sauce! Loved every dish!! Must try!
New place for some great Chinese food, both veg and nonveg!
The quality is surprisingly good, in comparison with Mainland China is what I can vouch for the starters.
The menu options are limited but good for the palate. Also some options for alcohol, but no in-house specialties.
Its a small place with seating for 10 groups, but tastefully furnished and decorated.
Service is prompt.
Good music, some filtering right from Peddlers located below this resto !
Do not miss, must for Foodies and group of friends !
Highly Recommended.
Superb Food. It's part of the Peddler's area. The music and ambience is great as well. They can add a few waiters to take orders (as of now only one waiter takes orders for all the 10 tables).
Food Recommendations - Dumplings, Paneer Chilli, Pan Fried Noodles.
