Located in sector 8 this old place serves home like food which is not only tasty but has that comforting vibe to it. Most of the old chandigarhians know about this old place and every time I come here the food is fresh and tastes the same. It is a quaint old dhaba located amidst all the processed food joints, is a welcome relief for people who like hot warm comforting food.
Good place for pure vegetarian people... Nyc food with sitting arrangements... I try their Samosa really good and rash Gillan also great taste.... So yummy and satisfying food....
Most delicious Dal I ever had. They told me that it is cooked for over 24 hours to get the desired flavor. Very economical. Love this place.
Had a veg thali that had one dal, one sabzi, 2 chapati, curd & rice for ₹120!! They did not have curd & rice so we got 4 chapatis!! Also, had one hot gulabjamun for ₹15!! What i like about this place is that they serve homelike food at economical rate!!
Run short of money and this one can satisfy your meal cravings. One of our college joints!
Food is satisfactory, nothing extra ordinary. Ras malai is thick and great! Staff is quick.
Good food. If you crave punjabi veg food, this is the place. Reasonable rates. Their malai kofta is consistently good, i usually order chana masala or rajma along with it.
Tried only the rasmalai as they don't serve main course in between lunch and dinner hours...
I liked it..
It's pocket friendly
Will try other stuff too..
Great Indian food with quick service. Amidst the high end eateries around, serves the purpose if looking for desi Indian food at nominal rates.
My wife and I stopped in for lunch and sweets today. I had the thali and my wife had some paneer dish and naan. Service was a little awkward, which I attribute to the language barrier, as we don't speak Hindi. The food was much better than most dhaba food I've had in my short time in India. The sweets were very sweet, though none of them really struck my fancy. All told, we spent 330/- on lunch. Our server was very helpful so I am leaving a good rating for food and service.

Just had lunch here , ordered a rajma , chole , lassi and naan plus tandoori roti, it's a no frills joint serving good vegetarian food, not disappointed at all, thumbs up :)
The Samosas are yummy and many customers come here to have samosas with chutney or Channa. The Alu Paranthas and Pooris served in breakfast are also tasty and economical. The rates of vegatables and dals are quite reasonable as compared to other restaurants in the area and the quantity is mostly sufficient for two. However, the plate of Dal may not be sufficient for two as many customers have found out to their chagrin.
The service is not so good as there is a shortage of staff,it seems. Also, the waiters normally do not give the serving spoon. They keep two normal spoons in the plate containing the food which is rather awkward especially when sharing.
However, despite all the constraints,my friends and I prefer Vaishno Dhabha to other joints in the Sector 8 market for a quick meal and cold drink which is sold at market price.

In search of authentic dhaba food, found this mediocre looking restaurant in posh market of sec-8 and had a superb experience. Being well acquainted with dhabas of U.P. , I found the same cutlery used as in usual dhabas. The food tasted exactly like it should and was finger licking good. Daal fry was actually daal makhani without makhan and not yellow dal which was a shocker but anyways good. Shahi paneer had plenty of pieces and great in taste. Finally lassi was a delight to end the feast with. One of the best foodie experience I had with Chandigarh.
A good place to eat when you are running low on budget. Their nan's are really soft in texture and one does not feel like chewing rubber even if nan's aren't hot. All their main course dishes are good in taste and you will never feel disappointed with any one of them. They serve some really nice and hot gulab jamun's which are not mentioned in menu.
This outlet is located in the same area where biggies like Monica's, Super donuts and other great eating outlets are located.
I have visited this place 2 times and I would say that my experience was a mixed one. The first time I visited this place about 2 months ago the food and lassi was very ordinary. But I should admit that the second time I went here for lunch my experience was rather delighting. The Panner Bhurji , Chana Masala along with Tandoori Pyaaz Paratha and with a glass full of Lassi tasted like the best combination in the world.
I would rather suggest that when you go to this place and decide to order Lassi do not ask the waiter to make Special Lassi because he will then add certain items in it and make it rather worse.
I was eating there everyday during the year 2008-2009. Best in class food and service. I would recommend this place for vegetarian people.
Best pure vegetarian food shop out there. Pocket friendly. Nicest service and best ever food :)
Great samoas and sweets. Very tasty. Highly recommended
