While visiting Chandigarh, you should not miss " Swarn Dhaba " - one of the best places with delicious food I had in my life along with flawless service.
The restaurant has very good ambience and excellent food. I found it to be one of the best places to visit for food in Chandigarh and is recommended to be here.
Must visit place guys... another effort by Sector 30 branch of age old Swarn Dhaba... pride of chd... go n try every cuisine...

A cuisine from the excellence hand. Delicious & Healthy food ever.
Best butterchicken and dalmakhani&butter NaN
One of the oldest and best curry chicken in town, maintaining their taste and quality is the best part. Sort tender juicy and fresh chicken, good service aswell.
5/5 highly recommended

Awesome chicken and mutton...a must try place for all non veg lovers that too at a very pocket friendly price...though the food is a bit spicy but its worth a try
This is only one dhaba where you get 100% fresh and good quality non-veg. But must must try Champ on Tuesday / Yellow Dal / Bharta / White Chole / All are amazing: must must try dear food lovers......
If you are craving for desi curry chicken or mutton, this is the only place in Chandigarh which could satisfy your taste buds. You just need to be in time for lunch or dinner as they are sold out very quickly.
Good place

The perfect place for a nice Chicken curry with the quickest service ever.
1) Chicken curry
Two pieces of Chicken a drum stick and a breast along with unlimited gravy for Rs. 150 is an absolute bargain.
2) Mutton Curry
The mutton Curry is served with 4 mutton pieces along with unlimited gravy
3) Rajma
The veg food is not their speciality but Rajma is the best veg food there.
4) Tandoori roti
Hot tandoori rotis keep coming in you'll have to stop the waiter to stop service for the rotis
Its good to taste Punjabi food like homely curry. Space is bit less but awesome non veg with unlimited curry available. Salad is fresh. Bill is also available.
A hub for non vegetarians with an undisputed legacy of 50 years.
Chicken and mutton curry are their main specialty. Do visit this restaurant for lunch.
All the chichen lover in the city. This is the place for you.
It tastes so good. Feels like home made. Everything is just perfect. Must must must try!
Khana kafi achi acha milta hai taste ke sath cheap rate me available hai aur chapati bhi kam rate me aur achi milti hai aur sab restaurant se

A must try place for chicken lovers!
I ordered Chicken curry. The chicken was extremely soft, the curry was soup-y and the flavours were a bit unique.
Tandoori chapatis were crisp.
Reasonable prices.
It's a very small outlet in sector 30 and has a pretty ordinary ambience.
It is advisable to be there by 8pm, as they prepare only a limited amount of non vegetarian items.
I’ve been visiting the place since my childhood. Its been a great experience at the restaurant. The food is so delicious. Ordering mutton is a must.
The place is super amazing..no words given!
The place is best in town for home style chicken and mutton!
The vegetarian is awesome too..the shahi paneer is worth a try!
We can’t wait for the Tuesday’s..to eat the mushroom chaap..they are the best in town!
Rating are- 9.5/10
This is my favourite casual dine in food joint. When I got fed up with fine dine restaurant I always go their. Food is all most like a home cooked food .
Ate: Mutton gravy, chicken gravy, tandoori roti
Drank: none
Taste: 5/5 (it was very homemade taste and extremely less oil)
Ambience: 3/5 (this is not a place for ambience)
Serving style: 3.5/5 (Warm people)
Price: 4/5 (it's very cheap for the quality food)
Overall experience: 4.5/5
Will I go again: Yes
Any particular: Amazing place for a sumptuous meal. Food is very tasty especially the mutton gravy. In fact we like the gravy so much that I ordered extra and drank it like a soup.
I highly recommend this place if you want to taste Punjabi style in the most authentic way and no fancy stuff, just pure food and taste.
@2happysoulsblog
Enjoyed eating at Swarn’s sector 30 for the last 15/16 years the same taste and tradition continues.
The mutton dishes are the best .
Though requires better seating arrangements
Tried the home style chicken curry, best I have had in Chandigarh. The place will give you a feel of typical desi dhaba and the taste is simply awesome
It's a Dhabha (if it ain't clear from the name itself) and being a Dhabha, it serves amazing food. The food sells out almost everyday and the chicken curry is lip smackingly good!!! Only drawback is the seating, it being compact, you have to share the table with other people. That's okay if you're alone but not when you're with your family. :/
Home delivery is the best option that ways
One of the best dhabhas to have chicken and mutton.Easy on pocket and good for lunch.Only downside is the sitting space, you may have to wait during peak hours
One of the oldest dhaba in chandigarh which provides a great mutton dish. Famous for limited dishes and good food quality and taste. The mutton is slowly cooked and properly cleaned. The taste has been the same from years. You have to go early otherwise you will not get anything as the lines and time is limited for eating. Value for money one plate of mutton (4 pieces) with chapatis cost rs 330 only.
Oldest dhaba of the city
A must try place for homestyle Chicken and mutton.... Hygienic and Fit to pocket👍
Authentic Punjabi Taste!!
Even palak paneer is also very tasty👍👍
I must say a very neat and clean small n decent dhaba.
Food : 5/5
Mushroom soya chaap : U will get this only on Tuesdays. But I would say it's a must try it really mouth watering.
Shahe paneer: The best Shahi paneer I had in tri city.
Dal Makhani : Ghar Jaisi swaad dal 😊.
If u are away from home wanna have ghar jaisa khana this is place for you.
It's really pocket friendly a must visit place.
Best paneer in city I suppose paneer with kaju gravy. At least try this dish once if you are foody person. I tried once on recommendation of my colleagues in office and I liked this dish. Dal makhni was also good.
The only place i knw that has managed to not compromise on quality of meat and taste. Hats off to the owners. Best mutton curry I ever had. Make sure you reach the restaurant latest by 7:45 otherwise u won’t get anything. They prepare limited quantity and hence, it gets sold quickly.
Their shahi paneer is the best in the town (according to me atleast )👍🏻👍🏻 most recommended 😋
They have maintained their taste over so many years and that’s great 👍🏻👍🏻
A lesser known dhaba situated in sector 30 inner market is great to hop on. Providing very limited menu this place has fantastic food. We tried shahi paneer, dal tadka and palak paneer along with tandoori rotis. To my surprise, rotis were perfectly made and served hot. It was a great experience all in all.
Recommended!
I have been going to this place for a couple of years.
Their rajma and Shahi paneer is unbeatable. Combine that with their awesome laccha Parantha and you've got yourself a perfect meal.
Excellent food specially the mutton and chicken curry. Not good ambience and fine service but still a very good place to eat out and their quality of mutton is better than what most 5 star restaurants serving Indian food.
A small dhaba situated inner side of the market serving a limited menu (chicken curry, mutton curry, rahra mutton, paneer, dal) and ofcourse tandoori rotis. The chicken and mutton curry are infused with many spices and flavors that it cannot be compared with something we get in multistar hotels. The dhaba is fully packed throughout the day..
ADVICE- Do ask them to give you some decent pieces of chicken and mutton while ordering.
Best dhabha style mutton and chicken one can eat in the tricity although both are served in the same gravy. Try their soya chaap as well on a tuesday. Only downside is that most of their items have more or similar taste.
Food quality is good.. specially mutton is really finger licking..
The ambience and sitting space does not live up to its reputation .. but yes they have maintained the taste.
I have been visiting Swarn Dhaba ever since my childhood days and trust me, this place has not even once disappointed me! The food is simply irresistible and i always end up eating more than my appetite. The ambience is that of a Dhaba and their food is finger licking good.
Excellent food.. tasty full of flavour.. Must try for proper north indian flavour in both veg and non veg.. small menu but good.. sitting is small but neat..
If one looking for the dhabas flavours swarn dhaba is the best option.Had shahi paneer, dal fry and chapati..everything was perfect..properly cooked and spiced and the best part is THE DHABA TASTE..!!
Excellent punjabi mutton especially rada mutton Absolutely lip-smacking, you will never find traditional mutton dish anywhere in chandigad except this place
One thing which is beyond is difficult to understand beyond the stretch of imagination if you order one full plate mutton between two persons they apply the rate of two half mutton dishes which is 20 rupees more though they do not give you anything extra, can the owner explain the logic behind this
U won't control licking your fingers having chicken or mutton curry 👌🏻. Don't mind sharing tables with customers just concentrate on your 🐓 or 🐐 , they make limited quantity so be on time to have best ever desi Punjabi meal in Chandigarh
I would recommend this place only for people who love mutton. The mutton curry is probably the best in the town, it has great flavor, good spiciness and the quantity is good too. I go here just for having mutton curry and it is always worth it. It is also pocket friendly.
The chicken curry and other vegetarian options are also good, have tried those once only, so cant talk about the repeat value but the mutton curry is to die for.
The owner is old sardarji and he is a pleasing personality. The space for eating is small, so you will have to wait to be seated but the service is quick.
Food: 4.5/5 (Just coz of the mutton)
Service: 4/5 (Quick)
Value for money: 4/5
Hygiene: 3.5/5
Seating: 3/5 (Small Area)
They provide you very tasty food without any excessive masalas. Its non veg menu is good.
I have not tried veg menu till now.
I would recommend everyone to try this place.
Try there Chicken curry. AMAZING taste. Reasonable price. Never ever I had chicken like this before. Value for money. Next time I will try there mutton as I have heard that they have awesome mutton curry
A true Dhaba. Serves amazing chicken with homelike curry and daal is must have. Good hospitality and always full. Tuesday soya chap is must try. Very good rotis, one of my favourites for lunch
No frills brilliant food!! Awesome mutton curry and prolly the best in CHD 👍 service is fast.. The place is basic but clean an the staff is friendly.. The Rotis are light n fluffy and even an over
eating doesn't feel like it.. Live this place.. Visit here every time I'm in CHD
my colleague toldme to go fr this place wid huge applause fr their mutton... i was apprehensive .. but as i taste it.. i mesmerized into d simplicty of d dish... no modernization... just as d way it is...will def go fr anther roundups ...
Wow ! Great No Nonsense Delicious Punjabi Food ! Awesome Mutton Curry, Rajmah, Dal & Tandoori Rotis... Very reasonably priced & quick service. Seating very small so could be a wait at Lunch & Dinner time ... But I guess, unless you need to take away ...it's best to eat where it is being cooked !
Used eat shahi paneer and dal makhani during my childhood but never tried their mushroom chaap. Visited after four five years and tasted shahi paneer n mushroom chaap. Paneer was very good nice consistency of cashew nut gravy. Finally had some chaap it was good only thing I didn't like was It was way too oily. Its a small place serving tasty food at lower prices.
You simply can't the simplicity of the food served here. Just can have it anytime of the day. Been visiting this place for almost 20 years now , simply amazing.😊
Rich flavours and food made from heart. My father and uncle used to eat here when they were studying many many years ago at PU and still they go and eat there for that nostalgic feel and of course great food.
Rare combination of simple yet rich food.
my dad used to eat here when he wasnt married and those kinda places stick to you . the owner would greet my dad everytime even when we were just passing by .. I used to love the cicken curry there , the shashi paneer not so much ( way to many cashews).
This place never disappoints its customers. Amazing food - simple yet rich. One of the very few places in tricity where one can have a quick hearty meal which is light on pocket.
This is one of those places which always stays in your heart.
True , authentic , clean , soul food.
The place doesn't look fancy at all.
With 5 odd tables and just fans. But you come here for the food which is amazing.
The Curry chicken and mutton are to die for. Then there's the shahi paneer with soft , creamy cashew nut gravy and the dal makhni. Also the bharta here is legendary. They also have soya champ but only on Tuesdays. Go early or you won't get any.
A highly highly recommended place.
Taste 5/5
Ambience 2/5
Service 5/5
Value 5/5
Beyond a doubt the best dhaba I have ever eaten at. The food was clean and fresh. There was a conscious effort NOT to use fat (butter or ghee) to
Enhance flavour. The cooking was doing all the talking, no wonder this place runs out of food within an hour. If you love desi food, you must give this place a try. Spoke to the old sardar Ji who owns the place, he's been doing the same thing for the past 50 years, no wonder he is so amazingly good at it.
Me and colleagues frequent this dhaba for an occasional lunch. The mutton is certainly the best you can get in chandigarh region, and the extra serving of mutton curry is a big plus:)
It might look low key from the outside, but the quality of items and fairly decent and quick service makes up for any short comings.
Do visit if you appreciate the traditional dhabas where the focus is on delicious fares rather than those with bright lights that all taste the same.
Well, This was one of the dhaba's my father used to visit in his bachelor days. And even while growing up we used to visit as it was walkable distance from my home that time. Some days when Mom was not well or Mom was not in Town or We did not like Ghiya Tori cooked ; We used to get food from there. It's not the kind of Dine-Out place as it is not well furnished, does not have an AC. A Typical Old Dhaba kind of place .. So If you are looking for Gr8 Dine-Out This might not be for you.. But if Taste is only on your Mind That this might amaze you beyond words.. The Food is neither tooo oily like some dhaba neither too spicy.. Must have delicacies are Shahi Paneer... Cashew Nut Gravy with Paneer.. Mouth-watering Ohh how can not mention amazing Mutton.. Their roti is pure crispy & Wheat and doesn't seem maida roti kinds .. There food normally finishes around 9:00 pm.
Must have for People Who Love traditional Dhabas only /-
Cheap chicken corner..
But
U shld go there for chicken n mutton!👍
Today mutton was undercooked.
But overall have it
Service is real quick.
And onion is just bonus.!
Tried Mutton and Shahi Paneer here numerous times and they've been always fantastic. Visit around 12 noon-1pm and you'll get the best mutton in the town. For those who have been flaunting about Tehal Singh or Pal Dhaba serving the best chicken for ages, try this out and you'll forget these two foods joints I mentioned above. Chappatis, are however, a bit hard sometimes and ambience/sitting might be an issue to some, but taste wise, this place is surely a must-visit one.
Hi All,I have tried chicken curry here it was super fresh, clean - must say its the best !!Basically for the one's who are looking for clean fresh chicken - just kind home made.Full marks...n must try.
Best chicken and mutton curry , even dal is awesome , not much to offer on the menu but whatever is there is awesome , will forget Pal dhaba once u try this out . Caution they cook limited stock and often run out of food.
The best chicken curry in tricity.Have a opportunity to taste today. Most people dont knw abt it as not located in prime location. But whoever read my review must try once. You will get satisfied.
Best chicken, best mutton....no kidding....the gravy is light and full of flavours....i bet once u tried this chicken curry or mutton curry..u ll forget d rest...space is the only problem as sometimes u have to wait for ur turn......
Rest dal fry and shahi paneer r also good......
Whenever i get time...I always go to swarn as much hyped Pal n all cant match this stuff.....Period!!!!!
First visit to this dhaba...
I ordered mashroom soya chaap.. Which was great and finally i got a place to eat in daily routine
It's the best dhabba ever visited in Chandigarh
Plus point is they make veg on Tuesdays and it's very special soya mushroom..
Must try
You'll like it
Enjoy
Food quality - 5/5
Sitting and service - 2.5/5
I guess wats most imp is food quality. Its hygienic and tasty.
Best is take away. Chicken curry, mutton curry, dal makhani best options
Close your eyes and think about a quintessential Punjabi Dhabha...

Well Swaran is the closest you can get to that in Chandigarh. A family run outlet, they have been there since many many years. All the food is prepared by them at food and only reheated at the Dhabha. In the afternoons almost everytime we have had to wait for 15-20 minutes for being seated. Iv never been here for dinner as most of their stuff is finished by 9:30. You can very well imagine how popular they are. In summers it is a little uncomfortable to visit as the place is not air-conditioned.
Although run by a Sikh family, the dhabha does not serve non vegetarian on Tuesdays and Navratras. Their Mutton is still the best in the city. The curries are light as water and you can get an endless supply of them. The panir is rich with cashewnuts and has a unique taste which is not found at any other place in the city. The baingan bharta is also very popular. Needless to say, their Chicken and Mutton curries are the most popular!
A good place for non vegetarians.
Very good food.... Non-veg is awesome, especially Chicken... One of the thing this dhaba lacks is tawa roti....
A typical Old and popular dhaba in Chandigarh with limited yet delicious veg and non veg items.
We had Shahi Paneer, Baigan ka barta and Chicken curry. They had a very homely feeling and would love to try more. However I feel the prices could be reduced hence 4 star rating.
Excellent food. We ordered chicken curry, mutton and daal. Everything was properly cooked and tasty. It was a kind of cooked at home not like spices of restaurants. Must visit
Good food but over spicy sitting place is not good and food. It’s just average because of their use so much spices. Price is not very cheaper but staff is very friendly. They can serve food very quickly.
If you love authentic dhaba food like me , then this is the place.
We ordered chicken curry and rajma with fresh tandoori roti.
A well home made food
.recommended !!! Repeat value
Food is good, the Roti they serve is very crispy which I liked the most. Chicken curry could have been better. Shahi Paneer is a recommended dish at this place.
Amazing simple and delicious local dishes
Good old taste. Same as always. A pleasure to visit and eat here. Mutton, Paneer and Dal was ultimate
Chicken is very good
Daal and bhadtha also live upto the name.
The place is a little hidden but location on map is correct.
Try to reach before 8 as they run out of the good stuff ie chicken
Lachha parantha is a must try.
Sitting arrangement is for a limited number but they have the option of take out.
The place is value for money and a good place for dinning out with friends.
If you love food, you will like . The food good for people having daily meals. I loved it.
Must say best cheap and best dhaba in Chandigarh. Great taste and perfect quantity with very affordable price.
Tasty food, veg and non veg both are good. Totally dhaba style food and very yummy.
Very nice place for food only on minus point no space for family vage and non vage
Awesome dhabha.Nice parking space .they have 2 sitting halls and both are busy at 2pm lunch time.mutton is very tasty and chiken too they have made very less spicy and flavours of masala is coming in gravy .awesome mutton.Nicely cook .Mutton is very tender.in half they give 2 pm CS and in full 4 PC's Thier staff is very tasty in providing food. Also nice neat clean dhabha .lot of varieties is there in veg also.
Very good service given by staff .Overall good food
Best indian food!!
Have been visiting since a long time now and never came back dissatisfied or disappointed.
