a charming and stylish eatery in the posh locality of boat club area of chennai. absolutely ambient and soothing. on the same floor you can visit an exclusive lifestyle store for products that are uniquely designed, before settling down for a coffee or a gourmet meal here.
I went to Chamiers a while back , the ambience is perfect the setting serene. The food is just apt and we'll presented .
The first thing that struck me the most about the place was the orb lanterns hanging by the tenting roof and the lamp stands. The soothing lighting and the cosy furniture, with a wall decked up with sepia tinted photo frames render an air of comfort, class and a certain colonial vibe to it. Since this was a post lunch coffee visit, we restricted ourselves to just that. Latte paired with their signature melt-in-the-mouth Theobroma and the not so great Blue berry cheese cake(the cheese tasted more like kalakand to me!), provided us good company while we drowned ourselves in seemingly endless talk- things important and sundry. A leisurely visit to the cafe would be highly recommendable. Pic credits:Dr Shibani Saluja
Very classy place to dine in. The quality of food is great. The ambience is very nice. A relaxed atmosphere around with good selection of food and beverages on the menu.
I have been to chamiers many times and I am yet to get bored of this place.
The first thing about this place is the ambience which makes it look calm and peaceful.
This place is famous for brunches and you could opt this place if you are interested in english breakfast.
The latte here is good.
Evening cup of coffee with friends or someone special is also a good option.
Everything is perfect.
Food ambience staff are one of the best i the city
Ambience - 10/10
Food - 10/10
Hygiene - 10/10
One of the beautiful places I have ever been to. Delicious food and courteous staff. Must place to visit when in Chennai.
Chamiers was once upon a time my go to place during my college days. The place is much better known as Anokhi. I always loved to order the Cinnamon hot chocolate which instantly gives you energy and the Theobroma.
Recently along with a couple of my friends, visited Anokhi for English breakfast. The breakfast here gave me a feel of the Ikea breakfast that I used to frequently go back in Dubai. The spread consisted of scrambled eggs, baked beans, sauages, mushroom, toasted bread. Loved tye spread. We ordered hashbrown as add on. The service is good. Sightly on the higher side but definitely worth it.

I’ve been to Chamiers Cafe twice perhaps, and both the times I had a feeling that the service wasn’t very warm! In fact, I had a feeling they were partial to foreigners and celebrities. Over the years, in spite of all the eating out, I never really pushed myself to visit this place again. This morning, I was looking to have a Western Breakfast with my usual partner in crime and foodie friend, and one of the names that popped up was Chamiers Cafe! Quite skeptical, but still decided to check it out to see if something has changed for the better.
I have been here earlier and would visit them again.
The best place to have a continental breakfast or a brunch.
The American breakfast platter I had was good and filling. It came with soft and fluffy pancakes, eggs, toast, hash browns and coffee/ juice.
Pesto Pasta- They got the dish right and did not tamper it by adding Indian spices.
Veg delight pizza- thing and crip crust with good amount of veggies and cheese.
I had a good brunch on a weekend. Place so peaceful, I got to relish every bite I ate.
A must visit place for someone who doesn't mind spending more than usual for a good meal.
It's one of the elegant places for a mighty breakfast. I liked the decor which kind of reflected the ancient and the modern era. The food was great as expected. The service was great too.
Go to place! Either for work meetings or to just to hangout with friends. Love the vibe here + good food that you can kanna moodi (blindly trust) order anything on their menu! Cane chairs, floral wall papers, old photo frames add such a warm cozy charm to the space. The stores stock interesting knick knack, clothing & jewellery lines - sort of a wholesome brunch + shopping exp if you please;)
On the pricier side ofc, but wouldn't mind considering there is no other space like chamiers in the city!
Am in love with this place, from ambiance to food, and service am pleased.
Hey chennites if you had a hectic day, and if you are around adyarnor RA poran this is your place to spice up your day. The soothing ambiance will lit up your mood. Such a relaxing ambiance. I tried their multiple dishes, and beverage in my last few visit, to be honest they serve the best food. Their coffe and pastries are heavenly. Multiple time had their English breakfast which was fully.
I have no words to describe this lovely place. Just awesome.
This place is definitely the best in Chennai. Just order anything blindly and you won't be disappointed. Amazing ambience, amazing food just the bestest thing happened to Chennai
One of the best spots in Chennai, in my opinion, in terms of location, ambience and of course, food.
(And if you're bored of the great food, you can always pop downstairs to Anokhi and burn a hole in your pocket)
My personal favourites are the aglio olio pasta and waffles with maple syrup. The music is soft and it makes you feel like you're in an artsy French movie, the lighting is delicate and the decor puts you in a mood that makes you feel way more important than you are 😏
Perfect for a lazy Sunday brunch with friends, perfect for a farewell-to-the-city-for-a-while breakfast and perfect for a long slow dinner with bae. Perfect for any occasion, really.
It's got great ambience, there is a wide variety of food which is delicious. Im not really a sweet tooth but I’ve really liked the chocolate chip cake here(you can try that if you’re a chocolate person), all in all it’s a cozy place to hang out with friends. Though I feel it’s understaffed, it’s worth a try.
Quaint arty place especially if you are also looking for some shopping. A little higher priced but maybe the premium is for the who's who of Chennai who frequent this place! A good place for long conversations over light bites.
Breakfast at Chamiers....want to do all these years.
I heard about this place till the day I stepped to Chennai.
While visiting I realized the hypes are true.
The ambiance is the real reason behind all the good reviews. Nice, calm, silence and decorative ambiance gave a peaceful start for the day.
Coming to food the presentation, tastes all are good. Can improve the by increasing the portion for the price, this is my suggestion.
Else everything is worth....
Amazing ambience........it has a nice old world charm
Great food.......loved everything on my plate especially the fried mushrooms
Awesome service.........
Just Loved it..........
Cant wait to come back and try something else.....
Nice and cozy cafe, went for brunch and tried the pink sauce pasta , cheese poppers and eggless brownie. Pasta was delicious whereas the cheese poppers and brownie were below average. Would go again to try out rest of the menu
The Chamiers building doesn't scream "fancy cafe" at first glance; you'd probably just walk past it obliviously if you weren't paying attention. But eventually after you went in you'd realize it isn't just that--a fancy cafe, but a community space housing a collection of really pretty stores too: for cute gifts, clothes and shoes. So we have here an all-in-one retail therapy+cafe unit!
I loved the atmosphere at the cafe: very pleasant, despite the overall busy-ness of the place. While the food is priced on the higher side, I'd say it's definitely worth it. Very tasty Italian-style food, beautiful crockery and quick service. Chamiers has my whole heart and I can't wait to go back.
Its a decent and very happening restaurant in RA Puram. My friend take me to this place for dinner.
WE got some pancakes that was amazing and delicate and so tasty. Also grilled paprika chicken steak that was so good, served with grilled veggies and rice. Good presentation. Very loving aroma and environment.
My older one wanted to have non Indian breakfast on a lazy Sunday morning! Did some research and finalized this Cafe. The cafe is on the first floor with a laid back atmosphere. My older one wanted to have waffle. Ordered the Choco chip waffle for him. Ordered the orange banana yogurt smoothie for my younger one. Got myself a Spanish breakfast for vegetarian. Basically a sizzler with loads of veggies, topped with fried eggs and tomato based gravy. Got hot chocolate instead of coffee that came along with the breakfast combo. Everything tasted fresh. Portion size was pretty decent, a little pricey though. Good breakfast. Got back memories of breakfasts that we had outside India, not necessarily taste wise!
The ambience is soothing, with European decor, the seating is comfortable. The food is delicious and satiating. The staff were polite and non intrusive.
The ideal place if you want to meet your girl gang for coffee or take a girl you like on a first date. The tables are a little crowded for conversations but no one bothers you much. The crowd is sophisticated and mature. Their service is par to none. We had a problem with the way the Caesar salad was made and they replaced it immediately no questions asked and gave us exactly what we ordered. Great coffees strong and exactly how it should be. I go back for their hummus and pita bread. Delectable and authentic. Love their creamy cheese cakes too
A perfect Saturday afternoon late lunch with a bunch of girls , great food and gossip. The day was made. I loved the ambience. It was calm and serene. Food was excellent
We had homemade hummus and pita platter, the hummus was out of the world. French fries, veggie overload pizza. Caesar salad with grilled chicken, and a couple of teas and coffees. Excellent service. I'm definitely coming back again. Cherry on top was the cheese cake.
No wonder Chamiers is so famous, not just amongst the youth, but all age groups. Somehow it gave me a very 'posh cafe in Mumbai Bandra'-esque kind of feel when I went there. Similar kind of people, similar kind of ambiance, similar kind of food. Oh the food!!! Really nice.
And the service was pretty quick as well.
The ginger tea, though a dipping kind, was great.
The baked beans on toast, though doesn't sound too much, was actually quite good.
A pleasant experience altogether.
This is not a casual dining place. If you want luxury and sophistication, head out to Chamiers. A stairway through cute little boutiques will lead you to this place. The staff is friendly and the service quick. It's a perfect date cafe. Coffee in fancy cups and an interesting menu is what you are paying for here. Not that the place doesn't deliver on food. I had a pita and humus with a strong cup of cappuccino and i was happy with my order.
For all you quaint cafe lovers, there's a fab one in Chennai. This place is an absolute delight with it's dainty wall art and pretty as porcelain interiors. The aged green, flowy whites and wooden surfaces are worth falling in love with. We spent nearly 3 hours just chatting here over an English breakfast tray. The food is great but yes I'd expect an option of eggs Benedict instead of just fried and omelettes from such a place. The coffee too was well prepared. The slight downside is the service staff which doesn't comes across as warm as the place itself. Please go here and you'll not be disappointed!
If you love a plate of waffles for breakfast , these chocolate filled waffles with chocolate sauce and maple syrup are probably one of the best that I’ve tried.
One of the best places in Chennai. Love the food and the ambience there. Been there multiple times and never get bored! A good ambience is always a plus!
Was here for brunch on a Sunday with family. The ambience and the crowd was comforting and a great escape from the busy life in a metro
Had the french toast that melts and leaves your tongue linger for more of it...
The hot chocolate made me high on chocolate quite literally...
If you have an eye for detail Chamiers Cafe would never disappoint you. It has the old British kind of decor and crockery ,set in pastel theme wallpaper and the perfect cafe menu.
The Hazelnut iced latte was served in the long glass and unlike many other cafes/restaurants the Hazelnut syrup was served separately that'd help us moderate.
The potato casket was scrumptious and it was potato is all it's Glory.
The fungi and gravy pasta was so tasty with mushrooms and grilled chicken pieces.
Pricing is a bit on the high side compared to other cafes.
My one of the favourite places in Chennai. The decor is so warm and welcoming that u would want to savor it with awesome food they serve. My favourite was their Pan cake and a cup of black coffee..
They a 'little' space crunch but that goes easily ignored with the quick service and ambience. I usually prefer breakfast time which is slight less crowded as well.
I have left Chennai now but I do miss this beautiful place.
Great food, but quantity is disappointing compared to the price you pay for. 350 for a two egg omelette and toast is worth it in taste, but no way in amount. I would have given 5 stars if it weren’t for my growling stomach after a 1000 buck bill.
Very classy place to be in..Go to this place with you special ones..Good place to hang out for quite some time. I loved ambience, coffee aroma and decoration of this place. We orders sandwiches, chicken wings and a veg menu.Although I find the quantity of the ordered food to be less as compared to the price , yet it was well prepared and served.Bit difficult to locate this place if you are going for the first time.
We stopped at Chamiers cafe for some quick snacks and coffee. I was delighted to see the decor. The cafe has been set up beautifully. I loved the ambience. We ordered Hot chocolate, coffee and chicken cheese melt. Everything was pretty nice. I absolutely enjoyed the evening snack. It is definitely one of the prettiest cafe in town.
Great place. Especially the breakfast here is just wow. The ambiance itself is so pleasant that you'll love to revisit just to enjoy the pastel colours of the café. My husband and I had an amazing breakfast here and dint realise we were there chatting for nearly 3 hours. The staff was decent and courteous. I would recommend the place to everyone.
We stopped by at Chamiers Cafe for a cup of coffee (and something to munch on). Since it was Christmas Eve, the quaint Cafe was all decked up making the charming place even more prettier.
We ordered a hot cup of cappuccino and a lemon tea with hummus and pita platter, and veggie cutlets. The food was an absolute delight.
Indeed , one of the prettiest quiet cafes in Chennai with exceptional food and dessert options. The deco is beau-tiful. Loved the breakfast platter and the desserts. The pasta was also spot on.
People who looks for good ambience ,then this place well suits you. The food here is too good but not as much the ambience.i suggest u to order some quesidillos ,it tastes good. There is also some place to shop outdoor the cafe. The service is not bad. Overall its a best romantic cafe.
Amazing menu and food is excellent. Service definitely needs to improve. Decor is English and soothing! Comfortable seating with ample parking space as well.
It’s the best cafe in terms of ambience compared to the ones I have visited in Chennai . The ambience takes away the charm even if you are disappointed with anything. The food was good . I didn’t try a lot of things though . If budget isn’t an issue it’s a must visit .
One of the most beautiful cafes in chennai. A spot every tourist must pay a visit to love their chennai experience a bit more.
There is nothing about this i would point out to be a flaw about this place except for the prices which may be a tad bit too expensive for a few. Been here a couple of times now and sure am gonna visit a couple more. Loved the deserts, especially the classic Theobroma.
Also, those interested in handcrafts can visit the boutique which is right next to the restaurant which has extremely lovely materials to buy.
Situated just adjacent to the Boat Club Road, one of the elegant landmark of Chennai, this cafe also boasts of its own charm of vintage decor and a lovely English breakfast. Ideal for catching up with friends or even for a dine alone. Price is bit heavy...
A beautifully done up place with ambience, service and food that completely merits its high rating. From courteous service staff, to the mood music, mellow lighting and the delicious grub, this place is reminiscent of an era gone by. We had the salted caramel shake, a cucumber mint cooler, club sandwiches, cheese omelette and toast, along with the lemon tart and the layer mousse cake - most of which we loved. The cherry on top of this was the addition of filter coffee in this extensive menu - an item most of us love but can’t find in typical conti restaurants.
The cake was super delicious as well and if you’re looking for abstract boutique buys, the premises has great options you’ll love too. Must visit for tourists in Chennai!
A perfect place with an elegant vibe and beautifully crafted coffee. Never underestimate to try the all the breakfast menu because they are not a bummer at all. A bit pricey and a bit cozy.
A must visit cafe in Chennai with some amazing decor and delicious cakes. I ordered the grilled fish, cold coffee and carrot cake. Everything was sumptuous- fish was cooled to perfection and the salad on side was really refreshing. The cold coffee one of the best I had but the cherry on top was the carrot cake! Light & fluffy, I packed another piece for the evening :) they have an amazing range of cakes which are must must try! Lovely place for brunch or just idling your time away !
cozy, quaint and calm little cafe. Serves continental food and has a daily specials menu.
Ideal to have conversations, business meetings or a date with your other half.
The beverages were brewed to perfection and food looked well cooked (I didn’t eat, but colleagues who ate loved it)
This is one of the best cafes in chennai. The service, the food and the ambience are pretty good. Car parking can be a slight issue due to tgr lack of proper parking space. The food is priced a bit high but its worth it. Must try
Chicken Rissotto and Blueberry cheese cake gets my double thumbs up 👍👍
One of the most finest place ever been . Loved the breakfast there. The coffee you have there will be the best you had compared to some coffee shops.
Full marks for the ambience
Nicely located just around the corner of Crown Plaza. Possibilities to sit outside in the garden. The cakes and salads are highly recommendable.
A great place with stunning interior. Loved the ambiance and the dessert. We ordered chicken fingers for starters and waffle . Both were good. Grilled chicken with mushrooms was also good, no complaints. The obroma cake was my personal favourite. Definitely recommended.
Never been to a prettier place than this. The crust of the chicken pesto pizza could have been better but other than that it was a good experience.
This is one of the first places I visited in Chennai and definitely one of my favourites!
It has a lovely ambience.
The food is good. We ordered white sauce pasta, glass noodles, cold coffee and pink lemonade.
The cold coffee was really good, and so was the pink lemonade.
Glass noodles were something I tried for the first time and they were nice too.
The triple layered mousse was amazing!!
It’s a lovely place to have a good time with your friends ☺️
Situated in a nice locality and with an arts & crafts shop on the ground floor, this restaurant serves some nice quick eats. When you walk in, fresh coffee aroma will hit you. Ambiance is tent-like with a chandelier in the middle. Each table has a spot light in case you wish to read. Had blueberry cake and it was good. My colleagues had chicken side and a burger. Nice place if you wish to visit with friends.
A sophisticated place at a great location. Very close to Crowne plaza. Wide variety of sandwiches, pastas, pizzas and burgers. Salads are great as well.
Simply gorgeous place. The food is so well made and delicious. Even a salad is so interesting here. The ambience is everything a cafe should be: warm, inviting and cozy. The desserts are excellent, too.
Located on the first floor right above their gift shop, this pretty place is pretty hard to identify.
Beautiful ambience - so calm and peaceful, quick service and yummy food. Loved their decor and cutlery. Classy.
The Blueberry Cheesecake was literally melt in the mouth - Soft and creamy. Blueberry compote was pretty good as well.
Hot chocolate was so soothing. Pretty decent. Good quantity as well.
This is my second time visiting this place and it's always amazing to be here. I was shocked when the place was empty and I was able to easily get the seat,I also realised that I went at 9am :p. The decor is soooooooo amazing ,the place is designed giving a European touch to it. The desserts are so good that it will be very difficult for you to decide which one you should order.
We ordered the all American break and the chicken club sandwich which was very good, the quantity is average not a lot compared to the price. The bacon was well cooked and the cappuccino was amazing.
We also ordered a rich chocolate in the dessert and the name totally agreed to the quantity of chocolate it is. The quantity is less compared to other restaurants
#mehngayiMeterForFood : average, a nice place which is difficult to find in Chennai
#mehngayiMeterForDrinks : sorry not available
Definitely a place to visit and amazing food to enjoy
Can shop, eat, smoke and meet great minds! Probably the best place in the heart of chennai which serves continental foods at its finest. The classic interior reminds you of 60's America and the place will mostly be filled with people of well mannered. Food aren't expensive as well. But still I gotta complain, please add mirror in the restroom.
Waited for 10 mins to get a seat because this place is usually jam packed.
Ordered their full fry up breakfast, chicken in mushroom sauce, spicy hot chocolate and blueberry cheesecake.
The hot chocolate came in a huge cup with the heavenly aroma of cinnamon. Chicken was well cooked and the sauce was decently seasoned. Cheesecake was the perfect combination of a crumbly crust and moist yet firm layer of cheese.
Service is quick.
Tables are too small for even two plates to fit.
But a great place to visit for the people who seek all day breakfast plates.
Overall the food was so great, we tried the English and American breakfast which is so filling and pancake with syrup is must try. As posted in other reviews we tried the potato basket and the kids loved it. Portion could have been a bit more. But yeah must try place.
**Chamiers Café: Where Culinary Dreams Take Flight! 🍽️✨**
In the heart of Chennai's RA Puram, Chamiers Café beckons with a charming British-inspired vintage theme, luring patrons into a whimsical world of delightful flavors. This culinary haven promises an enchanting experience, seamlessly blending chic décor with an eclectic menu.
Embarking on a flavorful journey, I savored the Cheddar and Jalapeno waffles – a zesty delight accompanied by a symphony of maple syrup, butter, and ketchup. While the Chicken Double Decker Sandwich and Omelette with Toast were crowd-pleasers, the Choco Chip Pancakes left me yearning for a tad more sweetness. Chamiers Café's beverage lineup, featuring the acclaimed Cold Coffee, Hazelnut Latte, and a refreshing Lime Soda, stole the spotlight. As dessert beckoned, the Blueberry Cheesecake proved to be the perfect sweet finale. Despite the slightly steep prices, the diverse menu, stylish ambiance, and ample parking make this café a culinary escapade worth experiencing. 🚀💖
*"Charm your taste buds at Chamiers – where every bite tells a story!"*
The place and the ambience is amazing ⚡️ I loved the Pasta bolognaise and chicken steak with salad 5/5 for the food.
The hotcocolate was okay ish and the cheese cake was also okay ish only :) 3.5/5 for deserts and drinks
The price is on the higher end, good for dates :P as the ambience is stunning
Parking space is there and literally in the main road, so easy to identify ;)
Great place with old school cafe vibes. You feel like you have travelled back in time. Lovely food and courteous staff. Their breakfast/brunch menu is plentiful and they also have sumptuous options for your sweet cravings.
Amazing!!!! The food, the ambience, it was perfect. It is one of the best experiences of continental dishes in Chennai. The sea food risotto platter, *chef's kiss*!! Must visit!
Ambience is a perfect score. A victorian set up with nice jazz tune in the background. Makes me feel like in Paris for breakfast until I walk I got out of the building 😉. Latte was to a good standard. Unfortunately the waffle was a bit simplistic and the batter was too thick for me. Lacks the crispness in the outside and soft in the inside kind of texture. Necertheless will return and try other offerings in the menu.
Has a nice ambience. Pasta items are very nice, pizzas are a little disappointing. Food seems overpriced for the taste.
One of the classic cafes in chennai and I can't believe this is the first time I visited. Would 10/10 recommend it for the aesthetic and the food. (Get the potato basket, you will not regret it)
My undisputed favorite hang in town - whether it’s for a casual coffee catch up with friends or a full blown meal with the family. Chamiers’ unique character is evident in every nook and cranny of the cafe. The Anokhi store in the ground floor is an aesthetically curated boutique with frequently held exhibits from local artists and designers.
Dude at the entrance was pretty non-responsive when talked to. The food was good. Went for the aesthetic ambience.
Chamiers Cafe - highly recommend it! Their pasta and pastries were delicious, and I especially enjoyed the chef's special menu. Can't wait to go back soon!I'd definitely recommend Chamiers Cafe to friends and family! The cozy atmosphere is perfect for a gathering of friends, and their staff was eager to make sure we had an enjoyable visit. While the restaurant may be small, I was really impressed with the variety of options they had for us. I think this cafe is a great spot to just relax and binge on food of the highest quality. The food was cooked to perfection, with flavors that met and exceeded my expectations. The staff members were knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive, which made our visit even more enjoyable. The restaurant had an atmosphere that was warm and inviting, with a helpful staff that was always willing to answer any questions we had.
We were satisfied with the speed of our service and the overall experience. We ended the meal happy knowing that we made a great choice for our dinner.
Great place for breakfast. Just drive into Chennai and in looking up for good breakfast options, Chamiers popped up and it did not disappoint. We tried their Omelettes, Spanish Breakfast and Pancakes. The Eco Espresso packs a kick!
Awesome upscale continental breakfast (and brunch, and lunch, and dinner!). Everything on the menu is great, and the atmosphere is 6 stars - everything is well thought out and intentional, from the pictures on the wall to the napkins on the table. Highly recommend if you want a nice, long, luxurious meal.
It's a lovely place. I felt like I was in an English tea room. I can enjoy breakfast with tea. I think it'll be a regular place, while staying in Chennai.
Chamiers Cafe, located in the heart of the city, offers a charming and relaxed ambience that beckons you to wind down and enjoy a leisurely meal with friends and family. It's a popular spot in Chennai, attracting a diverse crowd of all ages, from casual diners to even start-up gatherings. The cafe's atmosphere makes up for its shortcomings, such as the slightly higher prices and occasionally slower service.
The cafe's location is convenient, and its ambiance is the highlight, providing a delightful escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. Although the service might not be the quickest, the overall experience is worth the visit. While valet parking is available, it's advisable to plan ahead due to limited slots.
Chamiers Cafe is a perfect destination to unwind, savor good company, and soak in the lively surroundings. Despite its minor downsides, the inviting atmosphere and the chance to immerse oneself in a relaxing dining experience make it a place worth setting aside time to explore.
It was a nice, cozy place with good music for a pleasant brunch. Bacon strips and the chicken sausage, which was part of the English breakfast plat, was the best part. Also had the pink sauce pasta - could be better. Service was quick.
