It is quite surprising that I haven’t visited this place so far!  At least, I don’t remember doing so.  I may have come here long ago, during college days which I can hardly recollect.  In fact, so many times I have thought of visiting this place, just didn’t happen!  Finally, a friend accompanied me and we made it !  I should say, it was certainly worth it !

Lassi was good for the money u pay - samosa was bit hyped - it was normal but good -i need to mention that the sweet chutney was over tangy because of the excess tamarind... Can try once - very busy stall, may result in a stampede :)

What happens when a north indian searches for a samosa in chennai. He lands up at this place. I have no words for this place. Bombay lassi is my go to place whenever i crave for samosa and lassi in chennai. This place serves super yummy samosa, lassi and gajar halwa. I am in love with it. I travel 20kms just to eat samosa here and this place is worth all the travel. Highly recommended place in chennai..

A must-visit for anyone needing a pocket-friendly or quick-bite situation. Samosas were awesome and the lassi is absolutely worthy!! Though you have to stand and eat, it's worth the effort and special thanks to the family who have been there behind this, feeding people for decades! Much love to you all! I wish that this shop be well into the future of Chennai and still make kick-ass food!!!

This is a small shop behind Devi Theatre. Been satisfying the samosa, kachori, lassi and carrot Halwa lovers from almost 2 decades! Their items are not very oily and are very light! Very decently priced and the only good place for samosas and stuff in chennai! Best part is the items are always piping hot cuz they keep frying every minute!

No car park and dining space. Majority people take parcels or just stand on the road and eat.

No doubts whatsoever, the best place to have samosa..! The samosas are crispy, and wonderful stuffing which is really flavourful. They give it along with a theeka and meetha sauce. The samosas are very tasty and is a must try..!
Apart from the samosas :p, i love the carrot halwa here. It tastes really good as well.
Takeaway is the best thing to do, as the place is situated in the back of side of devi theater, and is pretty cramped with lots of traffic and rush always. Also u will have to stand and have the food.
So a must try place, and also the prices are very economical. :)

Located deep inside triplicane, it's not really easy to find but totally worth it.
We ordered samosas, special lassi, gulab jamuns and carrot halwa.
Samosas are freshly made and piping hot served with two types of chutneys, easilythe best in town .
Special lassi - they add a sweeter on top (they could increase the quantity TBH) but out of the world especially on a hot day. I felt heavy after it.
Carrot halwa - not up-to the mark
Gulab jamuns - yummy and delicious 10/10

𝙁𝙤𝙤𝙙 : 5/5 -

It literally took us lots of time to find this outlet and as we came here we just ordered one Dish and that's Special Lassi.

1. Special Lassi - ₹57 Rupees :

I have never thought that lassi would taste so amazingly good. It was so Creamy and the topping layer was so Soft and felt like butter and adding sugar on top was good combination.

Overall the Best Lassi in Town and you will never get these kind of lassi anywhere trust me.

𝘼𝙢𝙗𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚 : 3/5 -

The Place is Tough to find and there are no place to sit and eat and it is kinda a road side shop but it gets crowded due to their taste and quality of food.

𝙎𝙚𝙧𝙫𝙞𝙘𝙚 : 4/5 -

The Service was great and the Shop is clean and even though it is a road side shop they maintain the quality in their foods as their lassi is Famous all over Chennai.

Reasonable Prices and also next level taste.

This small outlet is operating for many years and is located to the backside of Devi cinemas that serves fresh and hot samosas, kachoris, lassi as well as some sweet varieties.
Was looking to blow off some heat in the afternoon and we stumbled upon here.
Ordered special lassi, samosa, and kachori.
The lassi was so thick, dense, and very refreshing. It was so so delish that you could feel it's tooth full flavour as you slurp it. This one of the best lassi I've ever had in Chennai hands down 🙌
Samosa and kachori was really hot and served fresh. I felt the pudhina/chilli chutney was sour a bit, but, nvm it.

I'm going back here to try remaining items they serve.

Would I recommend it others? Absolutely.

Value for money? Pricey compared to similar outlets but totally worth it 💯

The place is located in a back road but the taste speaks for it. It's always crowded with people and if u r non Tamil don't worry because the people at the shop can speak clear Hindi. I guess they are from Mumbai.
Now coming to the food. I had a kachori and a lassi. The kachori was freshly made and was very tasty. I took a pic after having half of it because I was too excited to have this kind of food in Chennai and forgot to take the snap before biting into it. And for the lassi I finished it in maybe 2 sips so no photos.. sorry :P
The cost is also very less compared to the quality of the food. My friend had a gulab jamun and said it was average (we say this because we are from Kolkata and sweets there are the best).

Tried out this legendary place last weekend and I had the best time. Since we were already full from a heavy and late lunch, we decided to keep it simple with the special lassi, jalebi & gulab jamun. Each and every item we tried out was mind-blowing, with the special lassi being my personal favourite. Thick and creamy and with the right amount of sweetness, it was the best lassi I've ever had. The jalebis were crispy, sweet and served piping hot. The sight of the jalebis being made is quite the feast for our eyes. The gulab jamun was perfect too. Taste: I love there Basundhi/Rabri and Carrot Halwa. Lassi is also good. Samosa, Jelebu and Kachori here is also worth trying. Cost wise it is above average comparing with other roadside eateries. See the menu picture I posted.
Location: Not easy to reach this place. Don't try it if you are in your car. It is difficult for an auto to creep through. Very easily accessible for those who exit out of Devi theatre. It is well known by people in that area.

Kind of difficult to find, located exactly at the back gate of devi cinemas. Ask anyone in ellis road and they will guide you to find this place.

One of my favourite place to have lassi and samosas.

They serve the best lassi in Chennai.

I regularly have
1. Spl lassi / malai lassi (5/5)
A delicious thick lassi made with curd sugar and basundi (rabdi)
2. Samosa (5/5)
Hot aalo samosa is topped with mint and tamarind chutney.
3. Jalebi (5/5)
Its one of the best and definitely tastes better than any other jalebi sold in the vicinity.
The best jalebi I love is from ajnabi in sowcarpet.
4. Kachori (2/5)
It’s just plain regular kachori nothing spl about it but my friends and sister loves it.

Taste:- 5/5
Price:- 5/5
Ambience:- 1/5 (its just a small shop on the road you have to stand and eat, they do not have any seating arrangement)
Service:- 5/5
Quantity:- 5/5

Will recommend all to visit this place.

This place is the paragon for typical North Indian chat dishes. All chats and sweet served on a Mandharai leaf.

Kachori & Samosa - Hot and straight from the stove. Kachori was the best among all the items. It was crispy on the outside, soft & hot on the inside with great chat flavours. The sauce and sev couldn't be replaced as they were the best toppings for both the items. Samosa had a good level of filling and it was smoky.

Jalebi & Carrot Halwa - None could hate their symmetric jalebi design. It was a treat to both the eyes and the tongue. The halwa was different from other places and I couldn't perceive how superior was their taste.

Lassi & Special Lassi - Undeniable thirst quenchers with cream and sugar topping. The difference between the both was that they add Milk halwa for the Special Lassi. That brought a completely different twist to the taste.

You could try out all their dishes in under 250 rupees. Like every chat shop in the city, this place will be packed most of the time, no seating and not much space to park your vehicles too. But, the service was prompt and excellent. Must try spot for all foodies in Chennai.

Reword this for a snack shop google review One of my favorite stop in mount road and a place I visit always when I'm in and around Mount Road. Me and friends have been visiting this place since 2002. Have seen the changes this place has gone though and how they retained the taste and quality still. If you plan to visit, I suggest take a two wheeler or take an ride that stops on main road, so you walk inside the Ellis road. Don't make the mistake of driving a car or going in an auto inside the busy streets that lead to this small shop. One of the best lassi in Chennai!

After all the hype on social media, I couldn't resist the temptation any longer and decided to visit Bombay Lassi in Mount Road. Undoubtedly, Bombay Lassi lives up to its reputation as one of the best chaat spots in Chennai, offering an array of mouthwatering delights that won't break the bank. For those seeking a delicious yet budget-friendly feast, this is your go-to place. The Kachoris stole the show, and rightly so! Bursting with flavors, these golden delights are a must-try for any chaat enthusiast. Paired with the mint and sweet sauce, topped with crunchy ompodi, each bite was an explosion of textures and taste that left me saying, "Oh my god!" But the surprises didn't end there. The Samosas were equally exceptional, boasting a crispy exterior that crumbled with every bite, revealing a delectably spiced filling that was simply yummy. And how could I forget their signature Lassi? Though a tad bit expensive, it was the perfect accompaniment to the fiery chaat dishes, offering a cooling respite to my taste buds. If you're a chaat lover on the lookout for an extraordinary culinary escapade, Bombay Lassi on Mount Road is a must-visit.

Hands down one of the best samosa & kachori. Limited menu but each and every items is worth it. Since I shifted far from triplicane, from the list of foods I miss around this area Bombay lassi is top of them. When ever I’m around I never miss stopping at this place and grab couple of hot samosas, you visit during any time of the day you will for sure served hot & fresh samosas. I have almost tried everything in menu and finally I stick with samosas and washing it down with chill lassi. Note- No upi payment, No dining option but there is a platform to sit opposite of the shop which they have recent renovated with new tyles. Parking could be difficult during weekend times. Weekdays it won’t be a problem. Shop is very clean and hygienic and also they have maintained the opposite platform area clean considering mostly peoples will eat over there. I have attached the lastest menu.

The lassi was thick and cool. It had a very refreshing taste. They had blended it well. The informal seating space is a very nice addition to the whole setting. Unknowingly it makes the place very accessible to all kinds of people. The pricing also complements that. If possible they should start it a bit early on weekends to attract more customers. We had come before time but they happily agreed to make lassi for us.

We went for Devi theatre and this Lassi shop is back side of it. No seating space(Table Chair) available as such. Snacks are finger licking good. We had 3-Samosa, 1-Milk halwa, 1- Gulab jamun, 1- carrot halwa, 1-Mixture packet and 2- Lassi. It's cost around ₹300. I personally feel Lassi is quite costlier. They did not provide any bill. Plan a movie in Devi theatre and have a quick bite here.

Bombay Lassi is the best in Chennai City. Superb taste. Try once. It's not on the main road but deep inside streets. Not much place to sit and very crowded in the evening.

The lassi took out the whole heat from Chennai. What a quality & taste. Kalakand (Milk Sweet) is fresh & ghee burst.

The location of the place is inside the streets. The crowd here tells how much popular it is. The taste of both samosa and kachori was good. The jalebi with rabdi was one of the food one should try.

Nestled amidst the vibrant streets of Chennai, Bombay Lassi emerges as a haven for connoisseurs of delightful Indian treats. This charming shop, with its inviting aroma and warm ambiance, beckons patrons into a world of exquisite lassi and irresistible sweets, notably the stellar carrot halwa. The lassi at Bombay Lassi is nothing short of a revelation. Creamy and expertly blended, it captures the essence of traditional Indian flavors. The menu boasts an array of choices, from classic mango to the enticing saffron-infused variations, ensuring a satisfying experience for every palate. Each sip unfolds a tapestry of taste, leaving one with a newfound appreciation for this timeless beverage. What truly sets Bombay Lassi apart is its delectable array of sweets, with the carrot halwa taking center stage. The halwa, a masterpiece of culinary finesse, strikes a perfect balance between the sweetness of carrots and the richness of ghee. The velvety texture and aromatic undertones make it an irresistible companion to the lassi, elevating the overall dining experience. The shop's commitment to quality extends beyond its offerings to the warm hospitality provided by its staff. Attentive and friendly, the service enhances the joy of indulging in these culinary delights, creating a memorable visit for patrons. This place is right behind Devi Theatre complex on Mount Road. The place is hard to reach by car. So park your car on Mount road and take a three wheeler/autorickshaw for the rest of the journey which is about a half kilometre journey. The place is in a crowded and congested area in a narrow street. They have a limited menu but what ever they serve a worth trying. My personal favourites are the Samosa which seem to be most favourite with the public too and the lassi to wash it down. The chutneys which come with the Samosas seem to add up the experience. Their normal Lassi is another outstanding experience. Simple but unforgettable. They also have some milk sweets and Halwas but i see most of the customers were lining up for the Samosas. Worth a visit.

If you ever feel like eating good evening snack, this place can never go wrong. I am huge fan of their samosa, kachori, jalebi and gulab jamun. Now they have renovated their place. It’s looks so good. But there is no place to dine in. You can stand near the shop and eat. I kindly request the management to serve wooden spoon instead of plastic while serving gulab jamun. It’s really kind of you to serve everything in leaf. Thank you for satisfying my gulab jamun cravings.

Many friends recommended this spot, and we visited recently in a evening. A small shop but completely crowded. It is just the backside of Devi theatre. They are Lassi was very famous, very tasty and thick. They have a special Lassi too. All the North Indian style sweets are available here. Taste & quality are remarkable.
