Great place for candle light dinner. Bit expensive, but really worth it for money. Try BBQ chicken sizzler and flavoured lassi.
Best restaurant in Chennai. Good service & tasty food. Ambience can be better.
Very nice buffet.. Good taste and nice service.. Love to visit again..
Neat and tasty food... Spicy and truely Indian.....
To work a bit on their cost. Food and ambiance is superb!
Best place for a family dinner... Very nice ambience and service. They serve the best. Must visit.

All time favourite. I'm the self proclaimed brand ambassador for Salt.
Had an awesum time and dinner... good food
This place is really cool for foodies out there. The interior was really nice. The food quality and quantity was the best of all. Must visit place for all the peeps. Staffs were also really cool and helpful.
Salt is a multi-cuisine restaurant situated in the Forum Vijaya Mall, Vadapalani. This restaurant is famous for its tasty biriyanis and the Elaneer payasam. The ambiance and the interiors were good as well. We had a good experience as the management and the service was really smooth and good.

Rakesh gave the best hospitality. 🤟
I have been thinking about trying the food at this restaurant. Finally i went today and tried the food over here. The quality and taste is good. I had Malabar paratha and kadhai mushroom and really liked the way the how it is prepared. The price is little bit higher but for a fine dining restaurant it is fine. The restaurant specializes in Indian cuisine.
Food was delicious and service is nice would like to visit back. Best for family crowd
the food was excellent!!! The staff there was very friendly and corporative. A special thanks to Rakesh and abizek💓
We really loved the quality and taste of the food. When it is served in a nice ambience with a smile, you enjoy it even more. They also surprised my little one with a holy special Chikki chocolate mousse sphere.😊
Food was good and was good crowd we were waiting and having food. Food was great gave the benefit of waiting. Great staff and friendly atmosphere.Hands off to chef and team.
Food is great and they have wide variety in the option of menu. Especially the buffet on weekends are great. Will recommend to all.
Food was great. Service was a bit slow as it was a Sunday lunch rush but the waiters were very courteous and apologetic. Will come again
Food was good and excellent service.
The food and ambience was great and service from Rakesh was good
The staff here were so caring. A guy named Rakesh served quite wonderfully. Food is quite vera level.
We went for a lunch to salt restaurant. Lovely atmosphere and good service. The mutton biriyani was excellent and good flavour. The desserts was good and excellent taste. Mojito was extraordinary. Good place to visit with family and frnds.
Went for dinner and we loved the ambience ..we ordered non veg platter and briyani. Both tasted yummy and we annoyed throughly. Thanks and will visit again
Being a strict vegetarian I had many different choices of vegetarian items..totally different I had never before. Mirchi baingan salan was hyderbadi style with milder spicier peanut sauce...garlic naan was very thin good for apetite . Veg biriyani was really awesome hyderabadi dum style with mild flavors.. this restaurant was a pleasant surprise inside a mall.. A big applause to the chef.. please go with your family. Must visit..
Our first visit to salt was wonderful. Elaneer payasam was yummy😍😋. And the mojo was marvellous. Railway chicken was yummy and i loved it. Staff was good and well served. Planning to visit salt again😍🤗
Awesome dessert shahi tukda pudding friendly staff .
Ambiance was good. Quiet place to hangout with friends or family. Staffs were nice and knows their food.
Biryani was awesome. Both Veg and Non- Veg. Chilli potato was very crispy and juicy at the same time. Enjoyed the meal
Good service- rakesh our server was good and polite. The food was also great
We had a get together with friends from home town. So expected a good restaurant and searched in Zomato ... turned out to be one of the best in the area as the food and service was excellent and amazing.. the staff who server me was very attentive and especially the dish called chicken kulfi kebb was mouth watering and must try..
Finally the desserts were very eye appealing as the server suggested thanks a lot and will do visit this place again..
I had a Chicken ki dum Briyani and Pomfret Tawa fry. The quantity was enough for a single person. The dishes are little over priced but the taste were good.
Absolute fan of the chicken hungama platter. The chicken was perfectly cooked. It had a smoky aroma and grilled texture which made it perfect.
The staff was friendly and helpful.
Tasty food and excellent service.
Nice ambience.. little slow in serving
Very Nice Service by Arun! We were in hurry for a movie and requested to serve food soon.He got it done!
Excellent place and good service. The food is really awesome. The staff are more respectful with us especially the person Sanjay is awesome.
The food was very fresh. We were served by Mr. Arun, he was very courteous and friendly. This place is good value for money.
#Bassafish I would strongly recommend this dish to all seafood lovers..The fish is perfectly marinated.. best flavour .. juicy .. soft 😍
*Mint chutney combo highlighted
Ambience: very spacious.. and extremely kind staffs 👍🏻👍🏻
Service by Mr. Arun was very courteous, suggested the best from the menu! Will visit again.
Great food and ambience! To top it all off, brilliant service by Mr. Rakesh. Had a great time, will definitely visit again.
We were a group of 7 who had booked a table for dinner. The reservation was prompt. Coming to the food, there was a South Indian food festival going on and few orders from that menu like vaazhaipoo kola urundai, paneer kuchi varuval were really good. Our other orders included tilwali baby corn, dahi ke kebab which were also pretty good. For the main course, we ordered karaikudi veg rice, butter naan, roti and palak paneer which were excellent. No qualms about the food. Our final orders were the mocktails which never arrived after even after a wait of 25 mins. On being asked, the response was pretty blunt that the order was being taken up only then and no apology was given. The waiters can be a little more warm and friendly.
Service was excellent so does their food .

So, this visit to 'SALT', at Forum Mall, was long overdue, and true to form they did not disappoint at least in taste.😊
They were as usual jam packed, on a Sunday evening, and after a few minutes wait, we got seated.
Now, we have had really good experiences here before, but today, the staff, though courteous, were a bit absent minded.
Nevertheless, our order was as follows:
Starters
Our first dish was 'Vayal Nandu Ras', a delicate dish of minced crab meat with a tangy soup. The presentation of this dish was classic, but for the price (275/-) way below expectations. This was from their special on Tamil week!
Second we ordered Calcutta Fish Vara (375/-). This was really tasty with a combination of fish and dal shaped like vara served with a beetroot dip and mustard dip. In fact, this was the highlight of our meal.
Mains
'Khas Methi Murgh' (425/-) a simple chicken curry with fresh methi leaves was well paired with butter naan (95/-).
Their Biriyani is something we really like so ordered 'Chicken 65 Biriyani' (425/-). Highly recommended, as the chicken was well marinated and soft.
Dessert
This was new for us but is sure going to be a hot favourite. 'Elaneer Panacota' (195/-). A coconut Panacota with a gauva paste. The proof was definitely in the pudding😋
Though the food was good, the prices seem to have been increased. Not in proportion to the servings. It makes one feel unsatisfied, especially with starters.
Maybe, if they cater to number of people per dish, it would make it easier when ordering. In our first starter, there were only four pieces to a plate. And we were three.
It is not really possible to taste completely, especially when the quantity is miniscule.
Diet coke was a whopping 125/- which was quite surprising really as compared to the 30/- in the market.
This is a place you can visit, if you want an authentic taste. Their cooking style has more of the Bengal flavour so for us, it is very welcome.
But overall, they need to improve on their quantity and service.
Mutton and chicken were very well cooked. Masala pappad was a highlight. Sadhasivam served us and helped us try out the signature dishes.
this place gives a premium fine dining experience with a good option of menu ! tried out the desserts both the dishes tasted absolutely amazing! they make specaility sea foods too! the Chocolate Bomb is a must try and definitely my favourite!! felt the price was slightl costly for the quantity but at the end of the day it was a satisfactory eatery to try out with some really pretty interiors and really kind staffs
Nice place with decent food.
Ordered the chicken briyani and mutton kadai.
The food was good and served in right proportions.
Would definitely visit this place again.
Keep it up Salt!

Hi had recently been to this place and had a horrible experience. The soup came after the starters, the main food was cold and on top of the desert order didn’t turn up even after 20mins and when asked they said they had missed it earlier. This happened on saturday 4pm when there was not much crowd and the servers were idle and chatting around. Overall the service quality has degraded significantly. I doubt whether i’ll go here again with this ignorant attitude.
Very good service and food is both value for money and tasty ... Chef Rakesh's service is noteworthy ....keep up the good work Salt
We went here for lunch. Though nothing to complaint about the taste, prices of each dish are way up high compared to the portion they serve. We ordered Saffron Murgh Malai Tikka, Cheese Naan, Chicken 65 Biryani, Andhra Chilli Chicken and Chicken Hungama Everything was cooked to perfection and tasted good. Another call off apart from the price was, when the staff placed the plates on our table it was a little dirty, it would have been much better if they wiped the plates with tissue before placing it to the diners (can take this as a suggestion as well). Overall it was 4/5 for us. 1 point less for the price and dirty plates.
This was my first visit to salt..the ambience is very good, very courteous staff. the place is so calm and you will enjoy your time there. Coming to food it is super tasty. Staffs are very friendly, specially Rakesh he helped us in ordering the best dishes, loved his behaviour😁😁
Food was great and our server Arun was very courteous and had a very pleasant demeanor.
We had the platter (could have used a little more salt), mutton biryani (was good) and the tiramisu.
Visited thrice so far.
Taste was consistently maintained good.
I like their Biriyani very much. The Calicut biriyani during Kerala cuisine week was awesome.
Bit costly, but worth
The place is very much good to have Briyani & kebab in more authentic way , the staffs are very polite , good job by Mr.Arun, overall a good place to hangout with friends and family .
Just another fancy Indian restaurant .... did not witness the best of service probably because we visited them almost at their closing for the day ... dishes were dispensed quickly ... the gunpowder mushroom is definitely worth trying as aptly mentioned in their menu .... lot of scope for improvement overall
Nice ambience with courteous staffs. Delicious food.
We ordered the following:
1) Special Chicken 65 Biryani - The Biryani had great flavour with very tender perfectly cooked chicken. The masala was not too flavourful but was perfectly blending with the rice. Side with raita. This was just too perfect.
Taste: 5/5 Price: 4/5
2) Railway Chicken Curry - chicken in the gravy was so so tender. Haven't had such great tasting gravy before. I just enjoyed the gravy with soft Rotis.
Taste: 5/5 Price: 4/5
3) Citrus Mint Cooler - this was good but after trying their Biryani and curry was expecting it to be perfect. I have tasted better mint coolers.
Taste: 3/5 Price: 4/5
Overall: Just enjoyed this place. Great place to dine in with family when you visit the Forum Mall. Service was too good. Keep it up!
The place os quite expensive but the dishes are good
Royalty and classy, are the two names to describe this restaurant.....such a calm and serene ambience....with delicious food served and friendly staff.....little price though.....but luxury come with a price tag........worth visiting this restaurant for a fine dinning experience
Good food, good ambiance. Slightly expensive but perfect for a family lunch
One such cozy restaurant located in the forum mall! With ample seating! Been there evening! We thoroughly loved their new theme! would say courteous staffs & rapid service😍

Good ambience excellent service my favourity restaurant we had chicken dum briyani and saffroni murgh malai kebab kudo to the chef and salt team .
Nice food with good service... Ambiance was little bit poor... Otherwise food was really good...area was empty... .........................
..
Excellent place to go. Great ambience friendly staff. Nice food and very hard to find fault. Great restaurant. But little costly and often crowded. So be sure to book a table .
Great taste very polite staff. Must try Cream soup Corn Cheese balls and Masala Papad.
I recommend everyone to visit SALT.
I would also like to appreciate Rakesh(staff member) he was very polite.
The food was good especially the prawn porichathu. We ordered railway chicken its just ok. Nan was good and try the ilaneer payasam, it was good. The ambiance was good and the service was ok.
The food was really good and we enjoyed all the dishes. We had a different expectation with elaneer payasam and hence felt it wasn't upto mark.
The chicken 65 briyani and aloo kheema briyani were absolute class - rich in aroma and not too spicy.
Suprisingly the quantity, which didn't seem a lot when dishes were brought to the table, were in actually quite filling.
Dinesh, who waited on our table, was very courteous and gave us a good service.
#aMustTry
One of best restaurants in Chennai!! Every dish suprises with the taste n presentation infrastructure was perfect liked both the mew theme as well as old theme of that restaurant bit costly but worth the momey
The ambiance is absolute love. It's a nice comforting niche spot decked away in a bustling mall.
We were very warmly greeted by the staff and seated immediately. We went there for a weekday lunch, so it wasn't very crowded and noisy.
We ordered using Zomato Gold.
The food was rather underwhelming. If I had to put it in 1 line, I'd say "It wasn't too bad".
Value for money- The service is definitely too good, so I guess we can't really take an unbiased call
Salt is one of the few places in Chennai with some absolutely scrumptious Mughlai food. They never miss the mark on their tandoori items. Their seekh kebabs are to die for. Definitely give the place a try.
Shoutout to Mr. Arun Raj our server for the evening. He was at our beck and call throughout the evening and made sure we got anything we wanted.
The ambience was very nice given that the location was in a mall. The waiter was courteous and professional in his service. We ordered biryani and a starter which was good for two of us. Both the dishes were really good
Food was good, being vegetarian their is no regret going to this place, movie ,dinner and live music at salt, and timely service provided. Food priced as per mall, best experience..
Excellent place
Wonderful meal
Friendly staff
Overall fabulous place for sumptuous meal .
Thank you Rakesh for your great hospitality keep it up.
Food is decent and could have been much better. I heard that once it used to be a famous place for lunch and dinners, but I feel the taste of food can be improved much better
Mango day spring, malai broccoli and prawns starter were nice. But, the biryanis can definitely be better. Though they were not bad but they definitely didn’t taste like Hyderabadi as the name said. Also, the prices are really high compared to the quantity that they provide.
Ambience was really nice.
Taste of food is definitely very good but at a high price. Must try resturant. Don't get shocked with the price. Few points to note 1. Service charge of 10% will be charged on your bill, beware of it. 2. Water bottle with an MRP of INR 20 will be billed at INR 60. During my last visit, veg clear soup was very salty after complaining they waived off the cost in the bill. Staffs are friendly.
Food was all good and tasty but had a bad experience this time with the quality and hygiene in preparation. Was and is a great place but now the quality has gone down a lot compared to the early days. Hope you guys get back to normal soon.
Good place..good service ..tasty food. Mocktails...very good
I would give it a 4.5 but I could not so I'm just let you know - I didn't enjoy the Biryani much but everything else was on point. Service was superb on a Sunday :)
Definitely recommend the paneer tikka!
Lovely ambience
Good place to have a nice dinner. For family with kids they have 2 special isolated tables - kind of cool. Dishes were yummy and presented well. One of the very few options for a restaurant type dining in Nexus mall. Worth the money !!!
Allepey Prawns + Coconut rice, Lucknow Saffron Butter Chicken, Elaneer Payasam, Chettinas Prawn pepper, were the best dishes we ordered, absolutely delectable and a great treat to our taste buds. Thanks Abhisek for serving us.

Best North Indian food in Chennai,
Service by Mr. ArulRaj was exceptional!
Must Visit place for all chennaites
Got back here to relive my memories. Service and food were absolutely amazing. Do try their dragon chilli paneer, yeral milagu perattal and Karaikudi kebab and jamoon cheese cake, absolutely the best!!!
Please skip their ghilli biryani.
Very good ambience and the taste of the foods are really good. The customer service is also good. The restaurant is not too crowded durin weekdays. We can also reserve a table. During weekends, do reservation for safer side. The price of the foods are quite higher than other restaurant. They accept Both cash and cashless payments.
Usually it's a bit crowded. But food portions sizes are good with a decent taste. Very good service though.
