Was invited for dinner here. Visiting this place after a long time. Food was tasty. But, need to comment that the prices have gone up slightly and the serving portion has suffered a bit. The soup was very tasty. The portion size has affected all dishes including the Tandoori chicken and the wheat porotta. The mushroom masala was excellent and saved the day. The quantity was very generous.
The taste was the only saving grace.
Will surely visit again for the taste and good service.

Brand speaks about this restaurant. One of well maintained branches. The one in porur is still better than this though. We had a grill chicken and naan, parotha, butter chicken and mutton briyani. Yeah you do get the best wheat parotha here but it has been the same taste for a long time. It could be better if we had a much crispier wheat parotha.
Apart from that, chicken could have been marinated better. Some burnt pieces where also found. Totally good for a day in 3 months. Little pricey though, thanks.

They have several outlets in Chennai. At any time in the afternoon, this place is flooded with people. So was the one in Annanagar. It definitely speaks of the food. Ordered chicken biriyani , Grill chicken and ginger tea. They were all good. I left the place satisfied. Service is very prompt and so are the staff.
Best place to try chicken dishes and soups. Vallet parking is a big plus at this place and the staff are courteous enough. Make sure to try the chicken 90 here is it so yummy that you will not forget the taste even after some many weeks. The mutton soup served here is out of this world!
Ambience is good and the service was good when you don’t go at the rush hours I suppose. Loved the biriyani however felt it needed a little spice. My favourite was always the chicken 2010 however this time it tasted a little bland and for desserts always go for the falooda or peach Melba

Buhari outlet at Anna Nagar offers decent biriyani and tandoor items. We ordered Mutton and Egg Biriyanis and it tasted reasonably good (not oily or overload of spices). The Chicken Tikka was delicious.

If you are living in Chennai for many years, you would have definitely seen Buhari outlets in many parts of the city. The mount road branch is the first Buhari restaurant and the birth place of famous chicken 65. The second best branch is Anna nagar East. Located right near Zaitoon, I always flutter between these two restaurants and end up in Buhari. The succulent soft mutton pieces in the mutton biriyani with the creamy onion raitha and birinjal curry.. Just Wow! The chicken 90 and egg fried rice is my favorite. The food quantity is generous and its made of good quality meat. Even the vegetarian dishes are good. But, The sea foods are not as good as the meat dishes. The ambiance is neat but the service is sometimes rude, sometimes too friendly, unpredictable. This restaurant can be visited with group of friends or family for a ravishing food, make sure you order chicken 90! 😀
One of the most highly rated restaurants in chennai. Ordered Egg fried rice and Biryani and few gravies. All of them were good in taste. Ambience is not great. And the menu is highly priced.
The place is mostly crowded, well obviously the food is great. The service takes a little hit because of that but nevertheless it's all worth the food. It is pretty decently priced for the quality of food they offer. Parking can be a bit if a problem though.

Have been a regular visitor to this place , for take away or dining. They have a seprate waiting space for take aways with calm waiters to attend. The parking space ,Interior,Environment is all good.Coming to the food chicken 65 is a must try and i have never found it disappointing even once. Chicken 2010 , Pepper paya, Chicken 90 are all too good as well. They don't have much variety with fish and chettinad cuisne available here is not great. Buhari tea and caramel custard are always a delight. They might want to include the normal parotta instead of only the wheat parotta being availble. I really find that quite unusual and there have been times i skipped just coz i wanted to have normal parotta. 😳 overall visit the place atleast for the chicken 65.

They took quite a while to deliver and I can totally agree as it was a Sunday and peak timings. But the food was delivered me piping hot.
The plain biriyani as usual was fabulous
I've never tried the prawn biriyani before. Firstly, it looked spicy because of the colour varying from the plain biriyani. It had ample pieces of prawns seasoned well and also the prawns were fresh. The biriyani on the whole had a similar taste.

Buhari is one of the best places . It was on the new year eve, were me and my family planned to have lunch , It was so crowded as usual . After 1 1/2 hrs , we gt a place and we ordered , new dishes . The Dishes are Starters fish Finger & chips , Regular Chicken 65, fish and chips sauce was so yummy . Then the main dishes are mutton Briyani, because its the all time fav dish.
To end in a good note , the BEST dishes to try are Lime soda and the Falooda . The falooda is the best . Thanks Buhari for making the new year 2017 special .
Such a lovely place, always full with people. Staff being courteous. Buzzing with activity. When it comes down to food there are ups and downs. I had their kerela parothas, 4/5. They have very good butter chicken 4/5. Prawns masala good 4/5. Appam 3/5. I had ordered two chicken main courses, two different times it tasted the same and nothing memorable. The day we landed there was quite memorable as it was the first day of the chennai floods. N we thought chennai had poor sewage system n the hotel was not taking care of it. Well, we wer proved horribly wrong.
But i have to say the water till ur knees n all wer forgotten the minute we got the chicken 65 on our table. We went there just to have this. But everything we ordered wer rich in taste n aroma.. My god the smell.. I'd give chicken 65 a 10/10 coz it was tender n spicy at the same time(well i think they own what they claim "chicken 65 is their invention"). Chicken kadai was a 9/10. And the dal was a 11/10😁. The let down was the service. Prob'ly coz of the commotion outside.

Been to this place and was shocked to see the taste had changed to the core, its not the old buhari those days in mount road. They need to revamp the style and taste. The best is the biryani's and tea. No one can match this combo in Chennai.
The ambience is really good. In buhari, usually my dinner starts with sweet corn chicken soup. Garlic naan and akbari chicken is really a great combo. If you want mutton briyani for dinner, visit this place before 9pm. Everytime when we visit this place, we end up being disappointed by hearing mutton briyani is over. Chicken briyani is worth trying here. Spl chicken 2010 is my all time favourite here 💯.
The special starter on my day of visit was Tawa Chicken and it was delicious. Apart from the main course the service provided by the staff was good.

And finally found this big answer : " PPL WHO HAVE EATEN BIRIYANI FROM KERALA ARE NEVER GONNA GET SATISFIED BY ANY BIRIYANI FROM TAMIL NADU for that matter"

This outlet has an excellent ambience. Ideal for reunion visits, birthday treat, family lunch/dinner. I ordered hot & sour chicken soup, mutton biryani and chicken 65. The soup tastes exactly as wat d name suggests with some spiciness. This places is famous for biryani and I highly recommend to try it and it's one of d best mutton biryani I had. Chicken 65 was so gud. The masala was well blended with chicken and tastes so gud and u can literally feel d chicken passing through your food pipe. It's a restaurant which every foodie and chicken lovers must visit.

I ordered mutton biriyani, special chicken 2010, keema samosa,veg biriyani and chicken kothu parotta. Chicken 2010 tasted really very good. Chicken is properly cooked. Keema samosa is like normal Veg samosa. Nothing special in it. Mutton Biriyani is average and not tasted like the central station buhari biriyani. Veg biriyani was good. Chicken kothu parotta didn't tasted good. Even the kothu parotta bought from the street food shop will taste better than this.Service is very fast. Ambience is really good but i can spot flies in the restaurant. Price is affordable. Quantity is very sufficient. Quality is good. Anna nagar buhari must improve a lot. I found nandambakkam branch is better than this.

After visiting the Adyar Buhari, I was so impressed, I decided to treat my friends to know lunch at the Anna Nagar Buhari. The place was good and its ideal to visit with friends or family. A large group would be nice too. So we ordered Chicken Biryani and Butter naan with Mushroom and Chicken gravy. The naan was decent and the Biryani was boring compared to the one I had in adyar. I couldn't even complete the Biryani. I'd recommend not going to this branch if you're craving for Biryani. I wonder if other dishes are good. Anyway, worth a visit coz of the ambience and experience is better going with a large Group.
Buhari is a household name for most people in Chennai, atleast for the food aficionados who know of the old Buhari opp Central.
They have modernised the brand and brought back the flavors and the hospitality synonymous with the brand itself. It was very evident as we entered this outlet, they greeted us like we were the oldest customers of theirs and we had not visited them in ages! As strange as that may seem it is endearing.
The service was quick and offered suggestions and specials for the evening and the good came out fresh and bursting with flavor.
Would definitely recommend this place for friends and foe alike.

Last month we visited chennai for some official work after the meeting in d evening we went for searching of authentic restaurant as I'm a foodie person and wanna try new thing of different places as there speciality so we order Chicken Biryani ,Grilled chicken, Buhari chicken masala with crispy pranthas and the Chicken 65. Later on with a little conversation with the restaurant manager we come to know that chicken 65 was originate by Buhari after British Rule it's hard to believe but if they said this thing then we also agree with d same...all the taste was good but not spicy as I already said to the steward for spicy but it's ok....everyone at least once try there lunch or dinner over here

The ambiance is nicely made with a loud violet colour and cream comfortable sofas! There are a lot of tables available for a large number of people. We came as a huge group and ordered a lot of dishes but I had the mutton biryani, sweet corn soup, chili chicken and pepper chicken. Their service is quick and the food tastes good. Their waiting and management staff are very respectful and makes the dining experience comfortable.

Excellent taste, especially the aroma of the food is temptful, as we know buhari is a trademark of restaurants however i felt a discomfort with bearer As he treats not like everybody else, yes this was our first time my parents are not much educated so they asked water and other stuff with a bit of voice raised, so what the person did is he left all our orders in our table and didn't serve, this is quite disappointed cause I've noticed he served every other table except, so everyone should be treated equally....

I think it’s a new building now. Ambiance is nice & so is the atmosphere. The staff is quite courteous. The starter Chicken 65 is quite yummy but the portion is small. It’s now located in front of Metro Station.
Buhari. They have some branches where in few branches the food was good. I went to shenoy nagar branch, kilpauk, purasaiwalkam, Mount road. Shenoy nagar space was huge good ambience, food was average I say. Biriyani is a food where u need to mix the right spices and mix well in the rice. The taste should melt in the mouth. But I tried in all these outlets where I never felt like eating actual biriyani. Coming to starters yes it's good, the chai was nice, 65 was good but I dont know why so much hype for it. Bun butter jam again why it was praised as if it tastes good. I heard my dad saying that the master who prepares the food was the key and may be they have changed or retired. It's ok to go people
The arrangement for banquet hall was splendid. Mr Ranjit, the manager in charge of banquet hall made the process very smooth. He was so friendly and helpful throughout the programme at the venue. The food arrangment was amazing. The mutton in the mutton biryani was cooked perfectly that it just melted in my mouth. The guest were happy, we the host, were also happy about how everything turned out. Mr Ranjit kept his word and delivered beyond promise. Unlike other banquet halls, he didn't rush us to exit nor didn't keep tab on the time. Definitely recommend this banquet hall. He also made sure to keep minimal decoration (photo attached) with out extra cost :).
