Finally visited Gossip Fusion Bistro...After hearing a lot of gossip about the place in terms of ambience, decor, food and specifically their desserts, went there to check whether it’s worth the gossip. Reached there early from my work place since I'd planned well before and also, had to take my bike as it was quite far from where I live. It borders Uthandi and Kannathur on ECR road, just parallel to HP Petrol bunk.
To be frank, I hurried myself as I was very hungry and couldn't sit in my workplace any further. Reached there by 5:45 pm and I was greeted well and when I entered- wooowwww 😮
The place was lovely with extremely wonderful decor, cozy and well-arranged to look elegant. To be specific, I loved the painting of an angel which was straight across the kitchen entrance. First Love was the ambience.
My hyper excitement for being here early resulted in little disappointed since the dinner menu starts only at 7 pm. The person there said that only very few items on the menu were available.
The next question that popped out of my mouth was about the tender coconut mousse, owing to my sweet tooth. Actually my only intention to visit the place was to try the tender coconut mousse. @hungryzombie had suggested few more items, which I couldn't try as I had arrived too early. So I was punished for being too early.
Tender coconut mousse (white lady): Who says no to white lady? I won’t 😉. It was served in a fresh tender coconut. After gulping the mousse you can find the coconut flesh. It was delicious and yummmmm 😍. I would travel longer if required to have this one. A must try!
Hot chocolate pot (dark lady): Don’t think that I'm racist, but never say no to dark lady either.
The molten chocolate pudding in a pot is served with a chocolate and brandy mixed sauce. Adding sauce to the pudding, I finished it in a flash. In love with this dark lady ❤
My second visit to this place happened for desserts again, and this time it was for the Eskimo bomb, I didn’t find this huge Eskimo anywhere else for this price, and the brownie and vanilla ice cream was even huge portions. I finished all myself having this chocolaty heaven. And yeah I had the tender coconut mousse again.
I will be trying more and adding up the posts soon...
Gossip fusion bistro is not all about gossip and yeah, it’s worth the gossip...!! 😃👌🏻
Gossip fusion bistro was my dessert hopping place for almost 3 years, when I used to drive back after a tiring day at work. All alone I have been almost having desserts only. Hearing tons of good and happy reviews about their food geared up to have a late lunch at this place that too with lovely people around.
No more stories, straight to food now: Started with fresh in house made bread.
Pumpkin & Broccoli soup: Being a pumpkin person, it was a pure mix of pumpkin and broccoli bringing in a subtle & creamy flavor to the taste.
Prawn & Melon soup: Does this combination go well…?? This is what I had in my mind after hearing lots of positive reviews about this soup. Creamy puree with slices of melon bringing a crunchy feeling whenever had a bite of it. Served with grilled prawns, the combo went excellent. Yeah am convinced now.
Yamachos: Heard of nachos, but what it is…?? Yam (Karuna Kizhangu) fried and spiced a bit to crispy
texture topped with chopped veggies, sour cream and salsa. I loved it so much.
Potato Skins: skinned and half cut potatoes filled with jalapenos, olives, mozzarella cream cheese baked well served with sour cream. It was equal of cheese or potatoes or cream, and that’s the reason made me fall for it. How could I explain this more….?? Just yum
Chilly Beef: Spiced and tossed small pieces of beef. It was soggy with the masala, but each pieces tasted so good and the spicy juicy flavor was in each bite. And yeah am craving for it right now.
Mutton Ularthiyathu: Had tried the same version of beef and being my favorite one I expected this to be the same. Yeah it was well tossed with masala made dry enough with cubed of mutton pieces. Flavor of the masala, and aroma of it was I can’t come out, yeas I like it.
Skewered Fish: Thin slices of fish marinated with masala skewered with mild oil and masala served with mango mustard green chilly chutney. Fish was fresh catch and it tasted good even.
Grilled Zucchini & BBQ chicken Pizza (Half and half pizza): Grilled zucchini, bell peppers, corn and ricotta cheese topped over a thin crust pizza. Another was BBQ chicken, thought there would be more of BBQ sauce used, but it wasn’t much as I expected it to be. BBQ sauce tossed chicken, sweet pepper, jalapenos, cream cheese topped over a thin crust pizza. Everything was in equal portions which made the pizza taste yummy.
Prawns Olivetti: Fresh and small pieces of prawns fried in olive oil, chili flakes, black olives, lime juice, coriander and garlic. Tangy and juicy flavor of prawns made this starter so excellent.
Coffee Mutton: Does it sound crazy….?? Sliced and roasted mutton pieces rolled and tossed over a sauce of rum, black pepper, paprika, oregano and the special ingredient is the filter coffee. The additives were made into a sauce which made the mutton pieces taste a bit of coffee and pepper spicy. I felt the coffee had an impact in my first bite of each mutton pieces, and once the sauce wipes out it made me feel that I miss the flavor. Creamy mashed potatoes were the sides of this beautifully curated dish.
Mixed Vegetable and fruit Shashlik: grilled vegetables, dices of cottage cheese, pineapple and watermelon over a mild tomato, tamarind and coriander sauce served with same masala tossed rice. Baked beans, carrots and cauliflower were served in separate which also went well with the sauce. Didn’t have much of it, since one of pure non-veg person loved and finished it almost.
You know next comes my favorite part: DESSERTS
Even though you would have read more of desserts above, few of the other desserts were there to be experienced and explained about:
Fresh fruit and nut baklava tart: Baklava puff made into a cup tart, the cup was filled with mascarpone cream and fruits topped with finely chopped nuts. Crunchiness of the puff with a soggy cream, fresh fruits and a last bite of nuts, Whooooooo made this fusion man…?? Loved the taste, I could finish It all by myself and no sharing for this here after.
Tres leches Layer cake: It is a Italian based fluffy cake soaked in three levels and kind of milk say evaporated, condensed milk and heavy cream. Fresh piece of fruits and cream were dressed over the spongy milky cake. I was denying having this one since all of my previous visits since I used to crave for their tender coconut mousse alone. But am feeling it now, I had missed this earlier.
Nutella cheesecake: More of the chocolate and equal portion of cheesiness. Nutella wasn’t topped over the regular cheesecake. That’s the secret of cheesecake; the smooth silky Nutella was mixed and baked with cheese. Base of the cheesecake was again the chocolate crumbles.
Tender coconut mousse: In a single word, “ECSTATIC” is what I feel whenever I see or have this dessert here. If you think am building over hype for this dessert. Please go and try and say it back to me.
End of the lunch era here.
Here comes the long awaited Sunday only early breakfast buffet at this place. Okay it took so much of time to travel from one end of the city to another part very early to have it. But I made myself to get up early, and being out of curiosity I wanted to try them out for sure. So I dropped in the next weekend after I had their lunch. Starting from 7:30 to 10:00 AM for Rs. 499/- which is a great deal.
Okay lets go to what they served:
To drink they have butter milk, watermelon fresh extract and iced tea. Had a sip of each and each were good but ill prefer the watermelon extract for sure.
Then had the strawberry yogurt which was so fresh and yummy, being a yogurt person I loved it.
Blueberry and mixed fruit jams, butter to have with assorted bread and croissants. Also they had little cute chocolate and classic muffins. I prefer muffins here, that too the chocolate ones.
Then comes the freshly cut and chopped pieces of fresh pineapple, watermelons, papaya and banana.
Tomato, garlic and basil grilled salad: this was my favorite one. Juicy tomato with very fine chops of garlic and basil leaves.
Raw papaya and mango salad: Being this one regular at my home, I didn’t find it much interesting to me which doesn’t mean it was bad either.
Tossed green salad: This was more of sprouts and green veggies over a lime juice.
Hot and cold milk kept separately to have with corn and Kellogg’s.
Going to the south Indian options they serve:
- Pine apple kesari which was excellent like how my mom makes for me at home with more of ghee and cashew bite in each spoon.
- Spicy mashed potato cutlet
- Medhu vadai
- Sambar – typical gravy of south Indian especially Tamil Nadu based sambar.
- Veg stew: creamy vegetables chopped and cooked stew with equal portion of coconut as it must be.
- Tomato and coconut chutney
- Idiyappam and idly: Homemade taste.
- Veg Kuruma which went well with paratha.
- Chicken gravy: My mother used to make this same variety of chicken gravy which I used to have with Ghee or podi dosa, and I tried the same here which made me feel overwhelmed.
Coming to the thai based food – Khow suey: Am not a noodle person, but they made a fusion in this for me which I loved it to the core. A small bowl of half split noodle and steamed rice. Noodle and rice was topped with khow suey sauce, of which the noodle was mixed with eggs and rice were topped with fish Manchurian and sausages. The both were dressed with coriander leaves, lime juice, roasted onions. Okay am going there again for this.
Now the continental part:
Baked saucy beans: protein rich saucy beans made out of tomato puree.
Baked vegetables: finely cooked vegetables like finely diced potatoes, beans, cauliflower over a creamy texture of milky coconut sauce. These were mixed and baked enough to retain the taste of the sauce in each vegetables added.
Minced beef stew: This was excellent of the beef gravy stew had in my life. Spicy level was even mild to go with plain rice, paratha or dosa or even idlies. But Idiyappam was my choice.
They have made to order options available from table too:
- Scrambled eggs, plain, cheese or masala omelet, fried eggs and even masala scrambled eggs. Tried the onion and mushroom stuffed cheesy omelet which was so yummy.
- Plain, masala, onion, podi, ghee or egg dosa: Tried the ghee and podi topped dosa and as mentioned above personally felt my mom’s touch in it.
- Pan cakes: Topped with Nutella was so perfect in taste.
- Waffles with banana and cream and the spongy waffle were topped with honey.
You think I missed out something this time, and to your surprise I didn’t. Tender coconut mousse for which I paired with waffles topped honey. Seriously a heavenly combination, try them next time you visit and let me know about it.
Coming to their service and ambiance, it’s a great applause from me and my friends since they are doing great and being polite every time with a wide smile on their face.
Waiting to try out their festive launch menu and update it further
More than 5 would be my choice cause am overwhelmed with their food, service etc.
