Great food, VERY reasonable prices, and a beautiful place. A South Indian fast food joint that adds a dash of luxuriousness to your dining experience, making it both unique and flavorful.
I gave the Thattu Idli and the Neer Dosa a try and I think they may just be among the finest I've tasted. The idli, glazed with chilly powder and served with dollops of clarified butter and a Kannada-style sambar, was divine. The same goes for the dosa, which was light, subtle, and came with a lovely coconut-jaggery side. Both dishes were served fresh and steaming, and the portions were generous indeed. (You can easily have a full meal for less than a hundred bucks.)
While I was too replete after that to try anything else, I noticed loads of folks ordering the Sabudhana Pongal and the Upma. (Now I know what I'm going to try when I visit next!) Oh, and I definitely want to give the innovative Dosa Platter a shot too.
One standout I have to mention is the Rose Milk - it is absolutely stunning. After exiting the establishment, I actually dashed back inside to buy another cup for the road. Try it even if you try nothing else.
The service is excellent. The staff are very friendly and efficient; the waiting period didn't increase even as the crowd steadily did. And as tasteful as the food itself are the interiors (don't miss the coffee-and-cup decor on the wall, though I doubt you will).
And for those of you with hectic schedules, the food packs very nicely so you can grab a nice parcel and head out.
All in all: a great place that's worth every star I can give it. And I can't wait to go back!
Keep up the good work guys.
Tasty hot food, that enriches your tastebuds and leaves you to experience a mouth watering yummy taste of south indian food. Yummy Neer Dosa and Red rice butter dosa with yummy chutneys and delicious steaming sambar and the Rose milk was to top it all. Amazing Aashruth Rangarajan , wishing your the very best and waiting to see Eating Circles in this side of the city soon
Good concept bringing Bangalore style South Indian menu to Chennai. Great crispy dosa and open set dosa. Thoroughly enjoyed. Must try whenever you're in Kilpauk!
Awesome food awesome ambience awesome experience of having typical authentic Karnataka food ....very yummy and very tasty ...eating circles three cheers to the team ..Neer dosa ,open dosa ,rose milk ...superb ....must try it..loved it l
I waited to travel to Chennai to treat myself at eating circles. Surely it's been worth a wait. Please build an appetite to eat, for every item is simply delicious.
My favorite that all must try is the open dosa, red dosa, rose milk and of course the filter coffee!
Surely looking forward to many more visits.
Great food, great ambiance, quick service, value for money... what more can you ask for!!! Do not miss their butter dosa, neer dosa and zero oil dosa... they've got dishes to satisfy all cravings South Indian :)
Crisp service and crisp Dosas. What a perfect combination.
Best part being you just cannot choose your favourite. Their special butter dosa leaves you with the best lingering taste in your mouth, having you crave for more.
A special shout out to their much needed this summer - Kaju Rose milk. (I don't usually opt for rose milk, but this one got me going for multiple sips) and a personal bias towards the open masala dosa.
Great food, great service.
Keep up the great work guys!!
Eating circles a must go restaurant to fall in love with the tasty and yummy South Indian food especially the neer Dosa, open masala dosa and the red rice dosa.. Adding to the taste with the refreshing Rose milk and the extraordinary filter coffe which I couldn't resist. Would love to experience every time I am in Chennai..
Thank you Aashruth for the amazing experience .
Marvellous,fabulous eating circle.
I strongly recommend the place for all South Indian food lovers.
Every dish is very tasty and delicious with unique tasty side dish . Specially Red Rice Dosa ,Open Masala Dosa, Neer Dosa, & Kaju Rosemilk. .don't miss it.
Just had Rava Idly , butter dosa , dosa at the RA puram outlet. Super. Brought back memories of my Bangalore days
Awesome tasty food. Rose milk is a must have here. You need to have the food ,standing. Bit difficult to take little kids coz we don’t have chairs.
Awesome place! Must try Neer Dosa with melting ghee it comes with a delicious different sider along... It's a treat! Loved everything I ate there!
Go for it.
Delicious food, with each dish better than the other. Tried as many of the dishes as our stomachs could accommodate, and got more to take away! Tasty and different. Good stuff.
Kilpauk branch Closed for Business at Poonamalee high road , one of the best restaurants in kilpauk , will miss it , hope they find another place soon in KELLYS , kilpauk , Shenoy or Anna Nagar
This is a awesome hotels which gives two types of sambar which are Karnataka jaggery sambar and Chennai spicy sambar both the sambar given here are awesome
A small but comfortable and very hygienic place. Feel like home very tasty food. Food quality and taste is worth the price. Courtious staff. A good plus in summer is their cold water dispenser! A must try place and best place for south Indian Tiffin!
Crispy and perfectly ground dosas with a gallop of butter on top !! With variants of chutneys n sambar in authentic bengaluru style!if you want to have good breakfast hit the spot for sure ! @eating_circles 🔥
You ma man, deserve a hi5!
This must be my most favourite Dosa place in Chennai. I havent stayed long enough in Bangalore to know how the food there tastes, but having Eating Circles here has given me the entire experience intact.
Food:
Bangalore Masala Dosa: A killer crispy dosa with potato masala inside. Comes with a mint chutney which is perfect.
Open Doasa: A type of Kal Dosa with Potato Masala on top.
Ghee Thattu Idly: No introduction needed here.Rose Milk: To die for!Maddur Vada: Cripy cold Vada - Did not like it at all, but I suppose its an acquired taste. The sweet sambar here is the best Sambar Ive ever had.
Service: Self Service.Awesome job and Kudos to the owner!
Head to eating circles for a fulfilling dosa experience. A very small place with standing tables only, better to visit in non peak hours. The red rice dosa and the benne dosa are crisped to perfection. You have the option of choosing the sweet Karnataka sambar or the spicy Chennai sambar. The chutney was a disappointment for me as it was a mint coconut one. Wish they have a plain coconut chutney as not everyone likes the green one. The thatte idly too was excellent. Good eating experience.
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THE SAMBAR HERE!!!
Good food.
Good hygiene level.
Good location.
Good quality has been maintained for a long time now..
Very friendly staff as well!!
Eating circles a long time bucketlist at last accomplished.
.
Butter dosa-
The dosa was crispy, perfect murugalana dosa 😅😍
.
Oh God their sambar, kannada style ( jaggery based) it has a slight tint of sweet. I fell in love for this sambar 😌😌 90 bucks
.
KARA Bath - the Kara bath was served hot, a masala based upma kind of dish. This was the showstopper. #must order
.
Rose milk- the rose milk was served with rose petals which was unique and tasted good. One wasn't enough to satisfy coz it tastes awesome.
.
Ambience - neat and simple ambience, u don't have seating place here. We have to stand and eat, a slight disappointment if you come from a Tiry day. So be prepared.

Ordered their butter red rice dosai, thattu idly and Rose milk.. the dosai tasted very good.. thattu idly was soft n good.. a place to have good breakfast..
The “to-go” for those who’ve had a good morning stroll and craving for something South Indian.
Please do try their Mysore masala dosa and sambhar vada which are probably the best I’ve tasted in a while. Also feel free to choose your sambhar type which is customizable as per your taste.
It’s a place which costs you reasonably having you guys walk out with a happy tummy with just under Rs. 100.
Stopped here for a quick breakfast. Ordered Ghee Pongal and open masala dosa. The food was yum. Clean and staff were very polite. Ended it coffee. This place doesn’t have seating space. But a cool tidy one for a quick breakfast.
I have been a great fan of Bangalore South Indian delicaces and was very glad when knew eating circles is here. The hopes we're definitely high and were met with expectations. Even better actually. Each and every dish is unique in taste. They specialize in karnataka Jaggery based sambhar which tastes little sweet of course but is amazing for a change. There both chutney is again worth to mention. The few items that i enjoy eating here are
Red rice dosa,
Open dosa,
Neer dosa,
Taath idli, sambhar vada
Rose milk etc.
The pricing for the breakfast for two items and a drink came 200/- which feels expensive though. But the taste will surely make someone come back again. Self service concept is good but wished they had proper seating too. 4.5/5
Right opposite to talking technologies and near to police station. Quite different timings compared to other restaurants. The place was quite small but well maintained. Ordered vada (beautifully crispy on the out and soft inside) and Butter dosa (crispy just like Ram Ki Bandi, Hyderabad). They had jaggery sambar (Kannada dish) which was quite new. The mashed potato had cashew nuts and tasted quite sweet. Overall a great experience.

I have tried their dosa and idly only. They are really amazing and yummy. I got to try them only once. Will order them soon when I get another chance.
Best for Ghee Podi Idly and Masala Dosa, Ghee Podi Idly will melt in to your mouth.Onion Podi oothappam perfectly cooked onion and Garnished with Podi
Found this place while searching for some pocket friendly options for having light dinner. Checked out both reviews and food photos to decide that it needs to be given a try. This eatery is a self service stand and eat type which can accommodate 30 patrons at a time.
Ordered the Bangalore masala dosa and ghee thattu idli. The dosa unlike the usual ones was extra thick and burnt crispy. The chilli paste provided a pungent flavour, good thing that they didn't apply it over the dosa generously, or else it would have been a disaster. All the 3 accompaniments, 2 chutneys and a sambar, were perfect for the dosa.
Then we devoured the thattu idli which was gleefully dipped in ghee probably. The moment you break into it with your fingers, you could literally feel the ghee on it. Taste wise it was awesome, accentuated by the podi sprinkled on it and tried alongwith the chutneys. We wish we could post a video of us breaking into the soft idli, it was super super soft.
We did feel that it was pricier but given the ambience and service it offers, it seemed just about right. They do have 1 more branch in Alwarpet which I planned to go to originally. A happy palate will be ensured when you visit. That was end of round 1 of our dinner.
A swanky place on EVR Periyar Road,Eating circles does justice to its name. I came here in the evening after a movie and the food was fresh and really tasty. The vada was crisp, though as advised the maddur vada was not hot;( . The Bengaluru masala dosa and the open Dosa are a complete match to the Karnataka style of food. The ambience is pleasant with A.C and it's fashioned in a Bengaluru"Darshini* style eatery. The showstopper is however the Sambar-aromatic and sweet as available across Karnataka. The chutney also does justice. The rosemilk is a must try for weary foodies.
Cons- Few people might prefer seating which is unavailable
Also the unavailability of other traditional dishes like Bisibelebath,Vangibath,Palav is a bit sad.
Overall wonderful place for those who wish to have a Bengaluru/Karnataka taste on their palates.
Judgement:4.3/5
It's a stand and eat - self service eatry which serves variety of typical Mysore/Karnataka style Tiffin items. They have an option for Jain food as well. It's a small place with air conditioning. The quality of food was good. The ambience was was also good for a stand and eat - self eatry.
I personally love Bangalore style dosas.. and this place is just bang on to that taste..
my fav is Red rice dosa (as i tend to avoid white rice in general).
You have an option of 2 sambhars - chennai (spicy) and bangalore (jaggery) , so its your choice totally.
Apart from this, their other dosas are also amazing.
Thatte idli is a mandatory order from each customer i feel..
and the cherry on the icing is their filter coffee 😬
Location and Ambience :
It's a small little place on the left of the poonammale road, Kilpauk. The place does not have any chairs,so be ready to eat standing. The place has a nice vibe to it. And presents with a very South Indian smell, or better described as the spicy sambhar scent 😁.
The Food :
Eating circles offers a limited South Indian variety of dishes, with the main focus on Dosas. We decided to try the Mysore masala Dosa, the sambhar vada and Idli sambhar. They give an option of either sweet or spicy sambhar. We went for the spicy one. The Idli was soft, the Vada was crispy yet soggy and the Masala Dosa was very crispy and filled with masala. All the dishes were very tasty! I" ll be definitely coming again to try their other dosas and the famous rose milk.
Thefoodfella rating : 3.8/5
Have ordered from here so many times. A good place if you're craving dosas with a good variety. Never been to the restaurant so can't comment on the ambience. But as far as the food goes it doesn't disappoint.
Best ever place to eat vegetarian.. all time house full shop..all time Tiffin available..Best place to eat Mangalore food.. good place for Mangalore sambar..thattu ghee podi idli is awesome and butter dosa veyra level semma
Pehnomenal !! Just one word wow !! Great Bangalore style food .. just that you can't sit and eat .. considering the cost, and the crowd factor .. they should have provided place to sit .. otherwise food is wow 😍
Sunday breakfast! This one was in my list for awhile now. Chennai is full of idly dosa place. What makes this place Unique? The red rice dosa I had. They have a choice of Bangalore sweet, chennai spicy and Jain Sambar. Priced moderately, I would not say cheap or expensive. Overall good experience.
The place is located in ponamallee high road the place is overall good the rose milk and dosas are good but the place has no seating even have a try with the idlis .
Do try this place guys .. definitely worth the money u spend.. the food is definitely served hot and the taste u get wen u put it in ur tongue stays there and u crave more for food..
Oh this place is so good. I love the no nonsense interior where you stand and eat and leave. Such kind of places are required as well. And the food is great. Everything on the menu is delicious.
Been wanting to visit them for awhile now. One of the best Mysore masala dosa in Chennai. And their filter coffees are to die for !! This place is not to be missed
The only part I could complain about is the lack of seating. The food is brilliant. Everything on the limited menu is a bursting mouthful of authentic flavor and goodness. The lemonade is to die for. Probably the best in the world (totally not overstating that). PLEASE OPEN IN BENGALURU.
Eating circles is a place of typical South Indian cuisine.. the luncheon over her s amazing..
Food:
The idlis over here is fanatic.. I love the the ghee podi idly..
But the sambar and chutney they provide are avg, it is not that great..
The dosa are not really good.. too thick..!!
But I like the coffee and rose milk.😋
Ambience:
You will love the ambience over here.
No seat dining but still you will find it a nice place to be.
Negative:
The dosa they make are not that great.. they should focus that..
Positive:
Try this place for the ambience and idlis😋
Eating circles serves you south Indian breakfast at it’s best. They serve quick food as they have limited but yummy menu. Thattu idly , open podi dosas and their rose milk is to die for! Rose milk is pretty expensive for a small quantity but definitely yum. Since it’s located on the main road its easy to find the shop too. Their dosas and idlies are very soft that they melt in your mouth.
Eating Circle! Tried this place just for their banglore style sambar😍
Our order was ,
1. Red Rice dosa - tossed with a touch of ghee and rosted to perfection on one side with light redish inner ! Taste wasnt that much different but it tasted awesome with their specialty sambar. But i believe it is healthy😂
2. Open Masala podi uttapam - nice semi thick uttapam sprinkled with loads of podi with a scoop of potato masala.
3. Sambar vadai- tried it in chennai style sambar , the tamarind concentration was bit too high.
4. Neer dosa - steam cooked dosa, extremely delicate and different.
The Ambience was good and its self service. The prices are nominal too.
Overall a great place for some variety of healthy dosa's and the sambar. Best best best.

Excellent Karnataka cuisine . Don’t miss to eat the rava idly . Rose milk is a must try . Open masala dosa is the most crispy uthappam type dosa I ever hade . Dough taste is good, could improve little bit. The special butter dosa is 30% of the Mysore Mylari dosa . Service is good.
Would have given 5 if they have a proper seating arrangement. Because this place is good no doubt and so it is always crowded. It's really tough to stand and eat and sweep through the crowd to get you order.
We ordered sambhar vada, ghee thatu idli, red rice dosa, open masala dosa, rose milk, lemon mint cooler. Everything was good ( I didn't like lemon mint cooler), sambhar especially made the day. Next time I'd want to come here for breakfast and just have sambhar. I loved the sambhar and red rice dosa, and vada was so crispy and good. Thatu idli was good too. I'd love to have rose milk anytime anywhere and this place has some amazing rose milk.
This place is anyday visit, the price is very reasonable. Budget and south Indian eatery anytime is the best. 🤙
Desi taste with a modern ambience , Taste is perfect with an option of jaggery sambar or spicy chennai sambar. Not very budget friendly for a daily eat but would rate a 4 * for the quality and consistency.
A small restaurant in Kilpauk, Eating Circle serves karnataka cuisine (Also they have Karnataka sambar - The sweet version). I loved the last time I had in Bangalore so went on to try this place out.
Sunday morning, was craving to have some delicious pongal so headed to this place. Ordered Pongal and they had a choice of 2 sambars, One was karnataka samabar(the sweet one) and another was chennai sambar (normal one). I personally liked the sweeter version here which was made of jaggery. Then I tried some sambar vada dipped with Karnataka sambar and it was delicious. Neer Dosa was something different for me so I had it, it is supposed to be had with coconut as side and some chutneys.
Finally had some coffee to finish my scrumptious breakfast! They don't have seating here so need to stand and have and it's self service. Neat place. Overall it's worth it. Will visit the place soon. :)
Authetic south indian food. Simple and neat ambience, the only drawback being, the hotel has no seats and is more like a fastfood joint.
Food ordered :
1. Ghee thattu idli
2. Open masala dosa
3. Spl butter dosa
They are available with 2 different sambhar variants. Chennai spicy sambhar and Karnataka Jaggery sambhar.
Go for it if you love ghee/butter rich south indian food.
Satisfied! ❤️

Eating Circles took crispy Dosas to the next level. Not sure if it is a level I want to be on though. It almost didn't even feel like Dosa to me. The chutneys and sambars tasted great. Sambar Vadas were tasty. Also tried the rosemilk which was fantastic and refreshing. One of the better rosemilks in Chennai.
Lack of seating can make it uncomfortable after a while.
Satisfactory for a one time visit.
Really great food at amazingly reasonable prices. The first time we were here the place was bustlingly full so we walked out. The second time we caught a lovely lunch here. We had the Mysore masala and the neer dosa along with filter coffee. The Mysore dosa had a lovely spongy texture with a delicious potato filling. The sambhar is typical Karnataka style with its fiery red colour and slightly sweet taste. However the Neer dosa was our favourite. Light and delicate served with a sweet coconut side dish, it was the star.
All in all it was a great meal experience.
Best dosa I even have in Chennai!!!a must try place , especially the paper roast dosa was yummiest, they have two varieties of sambhar, both are awesome
Don't expect seating here only but tasty authentic South Indian breakfast everything tastes good perfectly curated menu rose milk was the highlight here which thick and creamy with rose bits but didnt find any kaju in it as it is named as kaju rose milk .I liked everything from the menu no complaints. No washroom and also very congested during nights. A must visit place!!
Ghee Thattu idly will give a feast to your taste buds. Good to visit on your weekend mornings. Rosemilk would do fine at the end but it bites your pocket as well :D
Delicious Food served here. Especially Jain Sambhar, Do try Open Masala Dosai and Neer Dosai. Its Self Service, and heavily crowded place on weekends
My second visit. Worth the money. Dosas are too good. Open Masala and red rice are must try ones. Chennai Sambar wins over Karnataka Sambar. Space is a constraint but if you are lucky, you won't have to wait long.
I was disappointed with the 'Kaju Rosemilk' as there was no 'Kaju' in it at all. I had it in my first visit, fell for it and it was a flop in my second visit. The AC was not at its best and was mildly suffocating inside.
But for the rose milk and AC, I would have given it 5 stars.
went to have a dinner. asked to wait outside for 10 minutes since max 15 people only will be possible to accomodate in that place and we need to take our food standing like fast food. however food taste was mouth watering. providing varieties of dosa and idly with tasty south indian sidedishes. trust place will be made little spacious in future.
Superb podi idly and dosa great place for a quick evening snack no seating place available but neat clean place a must try sambar not that great but tasty chutney
Found this one under Breakfast collection of Zomato...Must say this is a must try place. This place has authentic udupi taste. I tried Rava Idly, sambhar vada, Veg upma and coffee. All the items were good to have and taste. One specialty of this place is that they have 2 kind of Sambhars, One is little sweet (Banglorean) and the other one is normal (Madras). The normal sambhar is also Jain Sambhar since it does not contain onions.
This place works on fast moving crowd principles and does not have seating arrangements. But still the taste and service takes over this small thing. Going forward this will be a recurring destinations...

I love the food in chennai but having moved here from Bangalore , there are definitely times when I Absolutely crave Karnataka food. On one such day , to satiate my cravings , I visited Eating Circles in Kilpauk. And really loved everything I ate here
Ambiance:
It’s a kutti place with a counter and open kitchen on one side and tables and stools spread out on the other. The vibe is very ‘darshini’ type. That’s what we call small eateries back home. The fragrance wafting from the open kitchen was all kinds of delicious.
Food :
Ghee idli - this is hands down one of the softest , tastiest idlis I have had. It’s a must try guys. It comes with the classic coconut chutney, tomato chutney (guessing this is the chennai twist to the dish) sweet Karnataka style sambhar (not all sambhar in Karnataka cuisine is sweet. Only eateries make them sweet). They also have a spicy chennai style sambhar that you can opt for. Going to try this the next time around
Neer dosa- my native is mangalore and I take my beer dosa very seriously . This one was very average. Tasted okay . It comes with the usual sides and a cup of coconut shavings
Open masala dosa - this is basically a thick dosa that is slathered with red garlic chutney and topped with that lovely potato masala. This was pretty good
Rose milk - was not overly sweet. It comes with a generous amount of saffron which I loved!

An amazing place to have south Indian food. It's a self service restaurant with good ambience and courtiues staff. Tried the ghee thatte idli, open masala dosa and rose milk. Definitely worth the try and will visit again.
Good place for South Indian food.... They have 3 different sambar - Karnataka Tamil Nadu and Jain sambar.... We had sambar vada, tharu idli, masal dosa, red rice dosa, rosemilk and lemonade... Ambience is good but since it was crowded we felt little hot inside... They can put one or 2 tables outside too it's just my opinion... One must place to hang out....

It offers varieties of tiffan item authentic Karnataka style..

Eating circles serves Karnataka style breakfast in Chennai.
📍Located in the Ponamalle high road, Kilpauk crossing police quarters.
1. Neer dosa: literally meaning H2O dosa the first time I tried this and it’s been already thrice am there and every time I had this one. Served with coconut sugary flakes, pudhina and Tomato chutney. Liked it soo much which was priced at ₹65
2. Red rice butter dosa: Exactly the pirandai dosa my grandma used to make for us. They have highly nutritious benefits so health freaks note this one. Served crispy with chutneys and mild sweet sambar as in Karnataka makes a good combination. Priced at ₹75
3. Kaju rose milk: Could someone explain me about Why is it named with Kaju. since I didn’t find any cashews in it. Yet this rose milk had so many dried rose petals flakes and filled with thick milk served so chill. Would suggest this one at this place. Priced at ₹40 which I fell is on higher side.
4. Ghee thattu idly: A big perfect eccentric idly topped with pure ghee and podi all over served hot with chutneys and it goes well with namma sambar. Priced at ₹50 which is a great one for the size and it fills the tummy perfectly. Have this one for sure.
5. Open masala dosa: I pictured it after closing it and people this one is a plain toasted podi ghee dosa with masala topped and I myself rolled it. Apdiyae sapiduvaen and I didn’t wanted the other sides for this. Priced at ₹75
6. Poori: they make very small poori that too they serve only two pieces with Kuruma which I didn’t like it. Not worth for ₹65
7. Pongal and sambar vadai: It was just my hand sized and it went all in with three gulps. Yet they were full of toasted cashews ❤️ priced at ₹75 and sambar vadai was very small even for ₹35
A decent kaiyendhi Bhavan is what eating circles is all is about priced on a medium side.
Had ordered the food yesterday. Their special butter Dosa was simply out of the world and sambar idli too. The coconut chutney and red chutney was simply amazing. Thr Sambhar was outstanding, it just reminded me of bangalore. Overall the food is amazing and must try. Looking forward to start their other items too.
Must order: Thattu Idli
Being a breakfast person, this place has been like second home. Ever welcoming with their service and delicious food varieties, they have earned a regular customer in me! Good job guys!
One of the best eatery in Chennai that serves some perfect karnataka style breakfast and other tiffin items.
-crispy butter dosa served with aloo which tasted really really good ❤️
- special paper roast
Both the dosa were crisp, buttery and the chutney, sambhar that was served along tasted fabulous.
I also ordered vada with sambhar which I loved vv much. The place truly satisfied my cravings for the Bangalore based sambhar which has a slight sweetness in it 💯
The best breakfast place that I would always recommend ✨

Order:
1. Red Rice Butter Dosa
2. Ghee Thattu Idli
3. Neer Dosa
4. Kaju Rose Milk
Verdict: FanEffinfTastic that’s one word for it.
The red rice butter Dosa served with Mint and tomato chutney. Ironically we specially requested for no butter or oil well that’s exactly how we were served but it was superbly crispy.
The Neer Dosa was tad oily yet delicious, served with similar chutneys and grated sweet coconut a beauty of a combination.
The Ghee Thattu Idli had to be the winner. super soft giant idly with a generous amount of podi and ghee on it. It’s like a dream.
Lastly the Kaju Rose Milk. Rose essence, milk, rose petals and some magic I guess. Every sip is like heaven. Pure bliss.
The only short coming would be , there isn’t much place to sit and enjoy the food. One has to choose between super uncomfortable stools or standing and eating.
excellent dosa in Chennai my favourite place eat to dosa small place but amazing test must be try
ambience-good
food-excellent
overall very good place
Let me start of by saying this is the best dosa you will find in the city. Famous for its ghee thick dosas we were left wanting more. Ordered the vadas on the side soaked in chutney to complete a great light snack
Eating Circles is located on the main road opp to sangam cinemas.
It's good place for South Indian dishes and they're having limited menu.
We've ordered for Thattu idly which is one of my fav dish. The taste was good but it isn't that good as kannappa's thattu idly.
Can be tried once.

Ordered from here in the evening.
Ghee podi idli and onion uthappam were good. Open masala dosa, was a new variety, which was decent. They serve Bangalore type sambar, which tastes a bit sweet.
Overall decent food.
Quaint little joint, serving karnataka style south indian food . The place nicely done with only standing tables and no seating.
We ordered :
Ghee thattu idly: Soft melt in the mouth idly with ghee and powder on top of it. Its the must try and comes with the options of karnatka sambar or chennai spicy sambar and also two chutneys.
Neer dosa: Thick crispy neer dosa, served with chutney and sambar. It was yumm. Do ask for the masala on the side and the potato filling.
Kaju rose milk: It was nice and cold , goes well with the food.
Other items also looked yum, will go back again.
I have visited this place along with my friend. We had rose milk, red rice dosa, butter dosa, need dosa, open dosa and filter coffee. We really enjoyed the food and service. The quality was of food was suprb. Red rice dosa and neer dosa i liked very much. I want to visit with my family in future here.
Amazing food!!! Delicious and appetizing south indian. Limited food items but all of them have been maintained and taste wonderful. Always looking forward to the taste.
A small clean and well maintained restaurant in the heart of Kilpauk. We ordered Red rice dosa, Onion podi dosa, podi thattu idli and a cup of Rosemilk to wash it all down.
—— Red rice dosai surprisingly tasted like a normal dosai and it was perfectly complimented by their karnataka styled sweetish-tasting sambar.
—— Onion podi dosai was delicious and fully roasted. As I like spicy foods, I preferred this over the red rice dosai.
—— Thattu Idli was the star dish of the day. Smooth and fluffy as hell👌🏽 with a dash of ghee atop, its a must try dish.
—— Rosemilk, easily the best rosemilk in city. In my opinion, this rosemilk easily beats the ‘Kalathi rose milk’ to dust. With added rose petals and perfectly balanced sweetness, try this rosemilk and you won’t be disappointed.
They have two types of sambhar. Karnataka styled sweet sambhar and Chennai styled spicy sambhar. Try them both, as they both are delicious.
P.S: Breaking the conventional table-chair seating, this place has high bar-styled round tables, hence the name Eating Circles.
Nice Rava idli just like Bangalore. Now available only for Breakfast.I wish it to be served all time. All stuff are good.An excellent place for FOODIES of Chennai
Essentially Elegant Eatery - Eating Circles. For a person who loves simple foods, this place offers a great deal of south indian staple foods is a class of its own. Though we have tried to visit this place before, the crowd was overflowing, so we decided to postpone. It was a perfect weekend morning to have a breakfast before a matinee show.
Its on the PH road just near the Kilpauk DCP office. Has got space for parking.
We started of with the sabudana Pongal which is basically a makeover of Maharashtrian Khichdi vahera. Accompanied with coconut and tomato chutney was a relish.
Red rice batter dosa is a healthy and a tasty one that's close to the Udupi style. Neer Dosa is an enigma to most of the people as the version they would have had is only owned by that chef alone, that's why this tasty dish Ain't popular. However this place has got one of the tastiest lightweight dosas I have ever had.
Sambhar here needs special mention as they have a Jain friendly one and a Madras sambhar. So, being a sambhar lover I totally was up for the sambhar Vada and sambhar idly. Idly's texture was amazing.
The kaju rosemilk was quite refreshing indeed.
The prices are quite reasonable.
The quality of dosa is excellent here. Worth the money. The red rice dosa is a different unusual variety which I liked. The choice of Chennai and Karnataka sambar is also a good one.
After all the reviews went in ordered thattu idly ,onion podi dosa and plain masala dosa it's was so dam good, especially thattu idly can't c a better idly in town.and at the finish of the dinner we a rose milk which was soooooo thick and the flavour used in that was awesome.
Location : Bang on the poonamallee high road. Very limited parking space available. Easily spottable.
Ambience: Neat, open kitchen! Typical upahara style stand-eat-go food joint. However better and modernized.
Service: Fair quick to make your food, from then its self service.
Food: Good! Quality and quantity both fit the bill. Would recommend the thatha idly, rose milk
VFM: ~250 for 2. Don't go with the mindset of "some bhavan"
Yummiest dosas and Fab sambar !! Yes they r the ones who got choice of sweet and spice sambar. I think both tastes good . We had till date had almost all the dishes ,some more than 5tyms,but no boriyat. Full marks to taste for those who like blore like south indian food taste. Just try to escape sabudana pongal from ur order...
One of my fav places to eat dosa and thatt idli. The restaurant is mostly crowded due to its popularity and success . The food is cooked in front of you in a very hygienic manner unlike many others . They even have healthy dosas such as neer dosa or red rice dosa . All the items are very good , I personally love the thattu idli and rose milk. They even have 2 types of SAmbar sweet and spicy . You can easily order from this place on Zomato Swiggy and Uber eats too .
Eating circles is located on one of the busiest roads of the city and one cannot fail to spot this eatery.
A small place with self service , usually crowded as they are quite popular for their banglore kinda food and the loved-by-all rose milk.
Been here a couple of times, but always end up ordering their dosa (with the butter on top) and rose milk . They are jus so delicious that I do not feel like trying anything else.
The only thing that pulls me back from going there often is the pain of standing and eating . Otherwise this place is worth every buck you pay!
This place had been on my wish list for a while. Finally went here yesterday. It definitely was worth the 30 minute drive for me. They've got some dishes that very few places in chennai offer. I could order another 10 plates of their Neer Dose with the coconut jaggery side dish and wouldn't get bored. Really great place. If you are missing Bangalore or Karnataka while in Chennai, I'd definitely recommend that you visit this place. I had quietly been sad about the dying quality of the Udipi Hotel Sudha a few kms down the road. No longer so. Eating Circles takes the place for me.
Not many places in Chennai serve the authentic Karnataka style breakfast and other tiffin items. That's where Eating Circles steps in to cook us some amazing Benne Dosas, Neer Dosas and Jaggery infused Sambhar! Soul food for life. Apart from these two, they also make other dishes, but I guess I'll always go here for the dosas and Karnataka style sambhar. No offence for the spicy Chennai Sambhar, but if I have to pick one, it will always be the sweeter version.
We were invited for a tasting session to try their breakfast dishes. The dishes were served within minutes of ordering. It was really to savour the piping hot breakfast!
What we had:
🔘 Sabudana Pongal : Me being a person who is familiar with the Maharashtrian Sabudana Khichdi was excited to try this version. It was gooey and spicy when compared to its drier counterpart. Nevertheless it tasted good and kickstarted our breakfast trail.
🔘 Red Rice Butter Dosa : This had to be ordered if you are in for trying the authentic dosa varieties of Karnataka. It was soft yet crispy at the same time. It had a mild sweet taste to it and went so well with the Karnataka sambhar, red spicy chutney and mint chutney.
🔘 Neer Dosa : This had to be my favourite. Soft springy light dosa with the coconut jaggery combination was heaven in my mouth. I didn't need chutneys for this as I was happy with this simple combination. By now I guess you would have figured out that I prefer sweetness in my palate!
🔘 Sambhar Vada : Who will say no to a fluffy big vada dunked into that awesome sweet sambhar. I absolutely loved it.
🔘 Idly Sambhar : My friend ordered this. I am not a idly person but when I tried a small bite, it had soft and melt-in-the-mouth texture to it!
🔘 Kaju Rose Milk : We finished our meal with this awesome drink. Unlike the other rose milk that you get everywhere, this had a rich texture and flavour emanating from the cashew that was added to it. It was topped with shredded rose petals. Biting onto it was another texture profile altogether!!
On the whole, it was a very satisfying breakfast. If you are craving for some South Indian style food, then this is the place to go!
Is your definition for a perfect South Indian style breakfast include : Crispy and perfectly round Dhosas with a gallop of butter on top, with variants in sambhars and chutneys?
Then don't read further just head to eating circles tomorrow morning, and oh ! Don't forget to grab their rose milk with rose petals ♥️
I was invited by the management to try out few of their dishes one day, so I grabbed my early dinner in here.
Eating circles, is a compact stand n eat place. Their name board is attractive and catches your attention when you pass by !
Their service is quick and they specialize in it !
The decor is great, on the walls, there's a painting of Chennai Central railway station and a embossed flowing filter kapi ! Loved it.
The menu mostly consists of Dhosa varieties like Neer Dhosa, open masala Dhosa, red rice Dhosa, butter Dhosa etc. Also they have some thattu idli, sambhar vadai and few Indian sweets.
For drinks they have chilled rose milk and hot filter kapi !
I tried 3 of their Dhosas and rose milk.
First up was the crispy Red rice Dhosa, it was perfectly circular (all of their Dhosas are, increases your appetite and is pleasing for your eyes) it was glowing, because of the butter ! I suggest this for the health freaks out there, as we all know that Red rice is rich in anti oxidants !
Red rice doesn't have any standout taste variation too. Have it with the Bangalore style sambhar from eating circles, and you have no choice but to like it !
Next up was open masala Dhosa, this was so soft and it's so filling, the mashed potatoes had the right amount of spice and was cooked well.
Special mention for their Banglore type sambhar, it's a must have and it's great. It's made of jaggery, so it's mildly sweet, but I loved the twist.
Regular Chennai style sambhar is available too.
Neer Dhosa was my most favorite, thin and soft Dhosa had to accompany a mixture of coconut chunks and sugar. God it was yumm. This combination worked wonders, even though I'm not a sweet tooth kinda person. Must try.
Their rose milk with rose petals ♥️ was simply the best. Slurp slurp slurp. How good? So good !
Bottom line - Your destination for a quick and authentic south Indian breakfast !
I was at this place with one of the famous food bloggers who was heading for a tasting session.
It's a compact place with No Seating. Well..That suits for grabbin quick breakfast on a Busyy day. They have minimal decors. That mould of coffee pouring out of cup was so striking🙈❤And the place was so neat and clean.😇
They have a bounded menu.Limited dishes with a twist i would say.We ordered for Neer dosa,Open masala dosa,Red rice butter dosa, Kaju Rosemilk and Mint Lemonade Twister.
Neer dosai♥
Thosee thin and soft layers Likee the petals of a flower served with grated coconut is the lightest and healthiest breakfast. The start of ur day with this sweet dish keeps your heart n mind very calm n happy which ultimately makes ur day.It can be called the south indian crepe👻❤
Red Rice butter dosa
Another healthy option. This was good with a extreme feeling of satisfaction. Well,We can always choose red rice over the white one as it contains more proteins. Served with two kinds of sambhar, Tha karnataka sambhar and the chennai sambhar and two chutneys.I loved the karnataka sambhar personally.🙈
Open masala dosa
Dosa with potato toppings👻There was some Podi spread on it.It was more or less like chilli powder so i felt they could have used some other Podi.Otherwise it was same like the normal masala dosa, and this was also served with those 2 kinda of sambar.
Kaju Rosemilkk
As the name suggests i could'nt get the taste of kaju but The drink was surely refreshing.❤❤
Mint Lemonde Twister
I loved this one thee best🙈❤The perfect flavors jus made my stomach completely satisfied❤🙈
Coming to the service it was pretty good but can be improved having the servers being more involved. The manager was quite interesting kinda person trying to bond a good relation with the customers having a casual talk. That's really appreciable.😉
Overall its a good option for a healthy morning breakiee😇
Happy Food at the most affordable prices.
A bigg thankss for this special opportunity❤😇And i would suggest they have seating too which would be more comfortable. And looking forward for more twists on their menu😉
Bang on the main road, a very nice tiffin place with a minimal yet varied menu!! Tried their ghee thattu idli, khara bath, Bangalore masala dosai, filter coffee and rose milk!! Their rose milk is a must try, incredible!!! Their ghee thattu idli was simply one of the best I have had in Chennai!!! The great thing about this place is that they offer both variants of sambar, the original kannadiga jaggery sambar and the Chennai spicy sambar!!! The Bangalore masala dosa was a bit of a let down after the amazing idli but all their chutney varieties are fabulous!!
The food is very very good. Very authentic as certified by a friend of mine who is a pseudo Banglorian. You get the jaggery sambhar here which is just a treat for Udipi lovers. The drawback is you have to stand and eat and its always crowded. Also they do not serve coffee after 8. Though it is worth every minute and all those soar feet
Really really good restaurant eating circle Kilpuk branch...
Staff are really good and friendly types...
We order ghee thattu idly no words very very excellent..
Next open dhosai add ghee with poriyal very good..
Next red rice dhosai same this one also..
Last and final we ordered rose milk really very very yummy and awesome...
Thank you so much guys....
A neat and hygienic place serving good food. They don't have a variety, but the ones offered are quite good. Most suited for people who prefer subtle food over spicy food. A well maintained place, but one has to stand and eat. Courteous staff. Reasonable price. Worth a visit.
The most trending place in town has created enough stir amongst people to visit them.
This place is a typical south Indian restaurant with food menu having just Dosa's, Vadai, Upma's. We'll they have 2 varieties of Sambhar - Karnataka style and the Chennai style.
It's USP's are Red Rice Dosa, Neer Dosa, Open Dosa
I would call this place a little overrated in terms of its pricing. However good food in terms of taste.
Overall, a good place for quick bite
Authentic Bangalore South Indian Food!
This place is the one among the best to have a good tasty breakfast in the morning.
You have a wide variety of Idly's and Dosa's to choose from. Ranging from Neer Dosa to Open Masala Dosa and Sambhar Idly to Podi Thattu Idly! You can also choose between Masala Vada and Medhu Vada.
The only drawback here maybe there is not enough seating. So you'll have to stand while you enjoy the meal.
The service is quick and everything is freshly prepared right in front of you with an open kitchen!
Do try their Podi Thattu Idly and Rose Milk. Absolutely delicious! 👌
Absolutely wonderful food. Best south Indian I've ever had. Everything on the menu is amazing.
Good place to have South Indian food. One of the Best dosai in the city
Awesome spot for a quick bite. The Neer dosa was amazing, as well as the chutneys that came with it. Staff was very friendly too!
Nice Karnataka breakfast like Maddur Vada, Neer Dose, Set Dosa, and Karnataka Sambar available
Amazing food! Open Masala Dosa MUST TRY
Best Veg food.
Good quality.
Good ambience..
Road view. Good rosemilk avail.
Good place for a family breakfast. Idly and couple of variety of sambar was good.
Their Rose Milk is amazing. I didn't like the coffee as the person who made my coffee added too much of coffee and less cream or milk. It was actually very dark.
Also the place may have little wait time if you are a group. Remember it's always crowded so that's the reason. Queue clears up easily.
Overall good experience and a new place to try your taste buds.
Fantastic Karnataka style sambar and dosa. Price is higher than general places but a decent visit. You can't sit here, it's mostly a place where food is eaten on tables without chairs, like in wedding banquets. Worth a try!
Excellent south Indian food especially Neer dosa, they have variety of sambars & their Karnataka sambar is very tasty and typical Karnataka style. Prices are nominal but there is no seating arrangement which sr citizens like me is a problem otherwise superb place for SI bfast.I definitely recommend this place.
Very nice and clean fast food center. Food quality and place is nice. Good option of choosing Sambar for taste buds from udupi style and TN style. Crispy Masala Dosa, Set Dosa, soft Thatte Idly with delicious and spicy chutney. Neerdose is a good dish to try.
Have been waiting for good dosas in Chennai and this is the best for me so far. Fast food that's healthy. Great taste, unique dishes and value for money... Do not miss their butter dosa, neer dosa and zero oil dosa... they've got dishes to satisfy all cravings South Indian.
