Iam a regular customer and at times I have all three meals in a day here.
Its very tasty and they offer wide range of options specially in the evening.
Morning mini tiffen is price worthy especially with those tasty chutnies and sambar.
I suggest this place for pure n tasty vegetarian food.
Delicious South Indian Meals, we often visit here, Every time we had to wait for half an hour and we found worth waiting for such delicious meal.

Best place for a quicker lunch experience with associates
Tried Veg on a Sunday being a non vegetarian. I deserve an award for that !😒. So we tried this Cashewnut Rava Dosa and that was a totally different one I have had so far. Comes at a very nominal price but starters are on the expensive side . The paneer Tikka was spot on in terms of taste and spice 😍. Others were all regulate daily dishes we have like masala Dosa , chilly porotta etc. Overall a good dining experience.
Located in Annanagar, they serve the most amazing range of vegetarian gravies, apart from other regular dishes.

You will get good south idian dishes. The meals which they serve for lunch is rrally great. The sambar is good here. All tiffen items are great. 2 problems here. 1. You wont get seat during weekend 2. Pricey
I've gone there three days earlier at 8.00 am in the morning. I had mini tiffin and it consists of 1 idly,1 dosa , some pongal, sambar, red and white chutney and 1 cup coffee/ tea. The tiffin just costs 40/-.Enjoyed a lot

With no expectation entered this place just to give a company for my friend as I was in no mood for vegetarian dinner.
Seeing their menu I was totally dumbstruck, it was running with many pages. Below are few of the foodstuffs which impressed us.
Idili vada curry
As usual started my order with idli which arrived very soon. My total plan was to complete my dinner with it. The idili was super soft and two idlies with delicious vada curry which had good amount of Kadalai paruppu(channa dal) with propitious amount of spices and less of irritants.
When I was about to end my supper, there came my friend's order.
Garlic podi idili
This is the dish which made me to research their menu much extensively. The garlic podi mixed with nallennai (Sesame oil) intensified the dish taste. This was actually ordered by my friend but I ended up finishing the major portion.
Viruthunagar Parotta
After up and down menu scrutiny, I ordered this dish and it was worth the time spent on perusal. Crispy fried Parotta with thick salna equivalent to one at non vegetarian restaurant galvanized me.
Butter Dosai
From my trip to Mysore I am allows overfond of this ashet. I went for a blind call for this and me as well as my friend wasn't disappointed with the taste. The coconut chutney which accompanied the dosa was topnotch. It had good amount of spice from green chilli well ground with ginger and tamarind. A typical god's own country chammanthi flavour.
Entered with zero interest for eating and ended up with a tummy full of happiness worth of ₹735 which includes other dishes and desserts.
Akshayam has been good food each time we have visited.Its vegetarian and has a wide range of dishes in their menu.Their idlis with various combinations of podis are delicious and equally good are their chinese dishes.

The one restaurant which seems to b crowded from the opening time u can hardly get a table as it’s getting filled quickly parked ourselves in a place wherever it’s available else u have to keep on waiting 🤣 nd watch others eating
The food s good ,I like their mini tiffin platter,plain,ghee ,podi many dosa varaities been there many times it’s economical too u can fill ur tummy with good food for 100 bucks
Cons: the mini tiffin received with no sweet which was disappointing I was looking for it😏I was like something missing after leaving the place it strikes me tat there s no sweet dish in it🤦🏻♂️should take care of their coffee too ,may b today was my bad day🤣
Went on a late Saturday afternoon and the place was so crowded! But the staff are very courteous and the food we ordered came pretty quickly and it was delicious... one of the best vegetarian food place in the city.. They can improve their cleanliness though!

The Best Place for fine Veg Dining in the country. Excellent variety of foods; unbelievable taste, hygiene ambience ( they clean the floors every 15 mins). Economical too. The Best part is the 'Mini - Tiffen' available for breakfast !! Lunch - Full meals; Dinner - adai avaial ; podi idly !!

Located in main road of Shanti colony, Anna Nagar it's easy to locate. They do have valet parking facility too, saving us the trouble of finding a spot to park.
This place is extremely crowded even in weekdays forget about weekends. Just to avoid the crowds we pitched in for early dinner around 7 PM. Even by then the ground floor was full (non AC) Anyway we were gonna go upstairs where the first floor's AC. We were lucky to get tables as they were filling in real quick. We got seated and the menu offers varieties of South and North Indian dishes.
What we had - Manchow soup, Masala papad, Paneer tikka, Naan (butter, aloo, and paneer), Paneer butter masala, Masala dosai, and Garlic podi fried idly.
Manchow soup was just splendid. Crispy munchows on top, gracious amounts of veggies, balanced salt and pepper level we didn't even had to adjust it and it was smoking hot 💯
Masala papad - Nothing so special here, just what you usually get served.
Paneer tikka - Paneer was so soft and tender and was so yum, it was juicy as well. The one thing I disliked was they burnt the corners 🙄. Overall, it was amazing.
Ghee masala dosai - It was unlike any masala dosai. I think they just poured all the ghees they've had in that dosai. It was absolutely delicious and the ghee's aromas had me moving to places 🤩. The masala was really yum went very well with the dosai. Absolutely loved this 💯
Naan (Butter, paneer, and aloo) - They were tasty, not sticky, and was hot.
I don't even know why I chose to order paneer butter masala when all I've been having was paneer, it was really a dumb move from me. And the gravy was very sweet. I'd like my gravy to spicy a bit, so, that was bit disappointing to me.
Garlic podi fried idly - This is hands down the best dish I've had that day. I was overwhelmed by the taste and podi was so spicy and the garlic flavour added whole new dimension 💥. Now, I have a new dish to my cravings list, that needs to be tended from time to time.
The food is simply good, when heart calls Tamil food, there is Sree Akshayam serving you the best.....

I frequent this place and I fell in love with the mini tiffin. I have never really tried north indian here so I did and totally loved the naan and paneer Butter masala. The chilly parotta is a must try.
P.S: Akshayam though opened not too long ago has surpassed Saravana Bhavan in taste, Price, ambience and popularity.
Bright ambience!!! Courteous staff!!!! Delicious food!!! Sree akshayam is a fine place for a quick evening bite or a delicious lunch!!!! We tried the kuzhi paniyaram which was tasty but the quantity was less!!! The set dosa vada curry was delicious!! I loved the way the vadacurry was made with very less oil!!!! Overall, a good place!!!!

Really good South Indian meals. Extremely crowded on weekends but still maintain their taste. Good parking. Good service and worth your money. Need to try out their other items.
Delicious meals and neatly packed. Karakplambu was really superb. Quantum of rice is more and that of vegetables is less. Curd was fresh and tasty.

They serve some really delicious meals. The taste and the service is spot on. One thing that really impressed me was the ambience. There are hardly few places that serves good south indian meals with such neat decors. The pricing is appropriate too. Good work.
A truly well designed snack joint. The place looks rich and seats a respectable number of patrons. The varieties are good and portions are acceptable too. The sweets aren't really off-the-charts good, but the quality is still good. I find myself visiting this place at every possible opportunity. But I would recommend not to pile your orders before trying out one. Some of the fried items like Keerai vadai may be bit too oily for some taste buds.
The only issue is the constant rush, which leads to a pretty congested seating. But then again, this isn't fine dining.

. This time it was meals 😋😋 Order was 2 south indian meals n 1 chapati kurma fr 3 of us . The food was really good .. mom dint like the garlic karakolamb - however i did relish it .. the chapati were soft n cooked well - unlike some places were it's a bit undercooked . Their ragi puttu ( sweet ) is really tasty n good - we were too full to hv it this time - so skipped it ..

Akshayam serves as one of the best veg restaurants in town. A very crowded place but the food is definitely worth the wait. I liked the breakfast more than dinner. Great south indian food .
Have already visited this place couple of times.. Tried variety of breakfast.. No complaints.. But this time I visited this place in the evening.. Their variety of halwa board attracted me.. So wanted to try one... Ordered Karupatti halwa.. It was 58 bucks for 100 grams.. Trust me it was jus HEAVEN😍😍😍 every bite was so tasty and yummy... Ghee was oozing out.. It was piping hot and tasted divine.. Definetely going again for that halwa alone!!!
Also ordered their bonda idiappam and chapathi.. Had coffee tooo.. Everything with the Halwa bill was jus 230 bucks.. Felt it was so nominal and they have increased the taste of food so much in the recent times...And I read the board outside for their dinner menu.. Tryst me.. It was so tempting... Going there again for sure...so this be one of the best restaurants serving veg oly food in Anna nagar❤️

One amazing place for vegetarians. 💯 It is always a bit crowded but still it's worth the wait. You have a variety of dishes and the the taste is too good. You must definitely try the soup and paneer tikka.

Went there on a busy Sunday on Christmas Eve, there was waiting time of 10-15 minutes, tried their special items for the day. Most of the Dosas were really tasty, it is a pure vegetarian restaurant and offer wide range of North Indian and South Indian cuisines. Surely recommend if your want to try chennai cuisine.
Very tasty south indian food. It is huge rush when i visited the place. Have to wait for my turn to get the place to dine in. But the quality and the taste of the food is excellent and ot is worth waiting. There is a limited parking facility available in front of the restaurant. The staffs are good but they are always busy due to the huge crowd inside. Lot of varieties to choose from. And the taste is superb.

A 4.5 just for the mini tiffin... Right in the middle of Anna nagar and you have the mini tiffin at the rate of 42 rupees.. Mini dosa, vada, idly and Pongal with a mini coffee is more than enough. Other dishes are also great. If you are trying to be economical in Anna nagar, then this is the spot.
I have been coming here quite often. Nice clean place, usually crowded on weekends.
Very good service and tasty food.
But of late, the wear & tear of the place is showing up. Service and food is lacking the initial excitement.
The care for details is missing. The maintenance of decor is lacking.

Update : In our recent visit we tried few indo chinese items , they tasted very good. Consistency in terms of quality and service is really keeping this place a top vegetarian restaurant in this area.

It is a great place to have good food. But the crowd is almost always high and it often requires a few mins. of waiting time. The service is quick. There is also valet parking. However the parking is done on the road. There is a parking space, which is almost always full.
At this place you can have the best south Indian breakfast! It was delicious 😋
