Yesterday we had a lunch here such an amazing experience.
The starters were very good especially mutton seekh kabab,garlic chicken and chicken wings.
In the table chicken barbecue and fish was excellent, prawn was average.
And main dish mutton biryani and corn fried rice was excellent, desserts gulab jamun tastes was yummy icecreams they have only vanilla and strawberry flavour and it was also very good overall nice experience......
A great place to spend time with friends and family.food was served very very faster but we have to take our own time and ask them to serve beit slow or after some.so that we can enjoy our barbeques
Visited this place on weekend , booked on the same day morning online and got confirmation afternoon . Even in weekend floor which we sit was bit empty. Ambience is not that good, but okiesh.
Coming to the food whatever served in starter is good . Prawns are not that good. I felt varieties served in tables s bit less. Nothing much for veg. So veg guys pls stay away. In buffet biriyani, chicken gravy is too good. All the deserts steal the show .

The ambiance is not so good and it was a buffet. Welcome drink was served first. Starters were served at the table with those sticks and kept above the hot coal in the table. Prawn and fish were excellent In taste. Even in veg the fried potato was good. In main course we had only less items but briyani and veg noodles were good. Desert there were ice creams and verity of cakes. Golab jamun is also available. Pricing is bit high but can accept for there items there....
I have been there at grill box to give my birthday treat. Yummy and tummy full grilled prawns kebabs chicken tandoori and lunch at reasonable price.. and the elegant environment make us crave for the place to visit again. They can improve the variety of dishes.

The place was cool.The starters were really good.they strd it with lemon drink along with yummy potato strater.on the grill they had choice of chicken,prawn,fish,paneer.And they also served us tanoodri and kebab.the started where good.the main course was a little letdown with biriyani ,fried rice,soup,and other goodies.deserts where okayish too.but overall 650 was really really worth it.A definite place for good grilled food.
I went for dinner with my friends. FOA here ambience of the restaurant feels different and had good experience. Starting with welcome drink was ok, next starter dishes grilled chicken, chicken kebab, prawn, fish, mutton, wings, baby corn, panner, grilled pineapple were so good. Main course not up to the mark but good. From the above item I liked desserts more(that's y I added photos here) and need to increase items.

They brought their pineapple grill which literally brought me to tears ... It was so good , no words to explain ... Never in my life I have experienced such an ecstasy... Been there for lunch buffet. Ambience of the restaurant is really good. About dishes, grilled starters were really awesome. When comes to main course it didn't taste that much except curd rice. Desserts were good but it would be great if they increase the items. totaly decent

Similar to any other BBQ buffet restaurants in Chennai, except for the ambience which is more of a forest theme / dining. Youโre welcomed with warmth by the reception team, which escorts you till your table. Then pleasantly greeted with lemonade welcome drink and a lot of barbecue meat in skewers, which is 3 varieties of chicken 1 mutton 1 fish and 1 prawn. They also serve kebabs on the grill placed on the table and everything is truly unlimited. Once you're done with starters, Move on to their buffet which is a pretty standard spread like mutton biriyani, rice, curry, breads, and dessert. Overall, this is a very good restaurant to dine with friends and family.
It was a good place to treat friends! Starters weren't too good but too bad either. Chicken starters could have been a bit softer. Taste wise, it was above average for starters and decent for all others. Pretty good ambience with grill in the middle of the table. That really sounds exciting. Quite a variety of desserts to have. I have conducted my sisters daughterโs 1st year birthday function in Grillbox Mylapore very close and family friends only about 30 people, we all loved their Food, service, ambience was really good we all had a good timeโฆโฆ.
There were 3 chicken dishes, 1 fish, 1 prawn, and 1 mutton sheek kebab that were served on the table. All 3 chicken dishes and fish tasted super yummy and was the best in the whole lot. On the veg front, there were 5 varieties that were served. BBQ Paneer, pineapple & dry Gobi dish was the best in the veg lot.

We had a buffet dinner. Around 7 of us went. The bbq variety was good. Seafood lovers must try the bbq fish an prawns. Veg lacked much variety but the main course was equally good in both. The squid was very soft an well made. Loved the desert stall, with a wide range of add-ons.
Have been there only once . Went for a dinner . Nice interior and nice service .but the place where u sit and where the food is kept is little far. Each and every time we have to walk to get the food. The other is the food is not been refilled soon. The trays were empty for a long time.
Good starters.. where the fish nd praws were good.. the main course had nothing great.. the crabs very very small.. which was a big drawback.. the desserts were just OK to say... and in the name of nuts in the icecream the sprinkled peanuts.. which was a terrible disaster.. finally coming to the bill.. the buffet price was not including all the taxes... +services tax was added in our bill..

The starters began to line up as soon as we took our seats. The Chicken Wings never fail to amuse me. The fish and prawns were also a big hit. In the main course I tried the Mutton Biriyani, as I am a biriyani lover. The mango shot is one of the dishes which keep me pulling here again and again. The staffs were very courteous. I just think that this place is going to satisfy each and every time I visit there.

Simply loved the ambience of the place, but the waiters were bringing the grills very fast and it was resulting in burning of it as our eating speed was lot lesser, we were asked around 4 times that whether we want to buy their extra beverages even after repeatedly telling them no, food was average..

I had known about this place a long time back. But I had the opportunity to visit it, only recently, thanks to a friend's birthday treat! Thank you Shruthi for the best b'day party ever! Since we went on a weekday, the place was quite deserted. But they've 3 floors of restaurant. So a lot of room. Still the entrance is a little cramped with some animal statues, looks a little like "Animal kingdom". But the tables are well looking and overall ambience is good. The veg starters were very good. The fried corn was the specialty. The servers take our inputs and alter the dishes immediately. But we asked for a little more spicy, we ended up getting all spicy dishes. The non vegetarians had a difficult time with all the hot dishes. ๐ The main course spread was not impressive, yet not too bad. It was satisfactory. It was all orthodox dishes for the Veg section like veg sczhwan noodles, soup and fried rice. Nothing new, nothing extraordinary, everything just made good. The dessert section with the cakes and the mixed ice cream was excellent. The small brownie cakes tickled my sweet buds for a long time. The ice-cream place could use some flavor suggestions as our suggestions sometimes do not mix well and we end up getting some weird flavored ice creams ๐ (My suggestions were luckily spot on and I had a blast with the full chocolate ice cream mix ๐ค๐).
OVERALL : A decent BBQ place, light on the pocket, heavy on heart and soul. Nice place and best times with the best people. ๐๐
We went there for a weekday dinner on occasion of a birthday treat. The starters were good. The main course spread was quite good indeed. Was quite full by the end of the starters to try out all the main course dishes. Got to try a bit of the dessert and it was really good!
The theme is mostly a fun and jungle based but not too dark.
Overall, a nice experience.
Cheaper than the other BBQ places. You can't expect the same quality as absololute or bbq nation, but definitely worth the money, given the huge spread. Deserts are really good, but I felt the brownie to be a bit too dry.

I have been here twice and both the times I have had a really great buffet. We went there this afternoon and we went at around two thirty. Being a pretty slow eater, that was the worst idea. Anyway they gave us a lemonade to start with. I didn't like the lemonade as it was little too sour. They soon started with the starters. They placed the grilled chicken, fish and prawns along with grilled pineapple, mushroom and paneer in the grill. The sauces were also perfect and provided a different flavour combination when mixed with the starters. They also served us mutton kabab, potato, tandoori chicken and chicken wings. I would have eaten atleast twelve chicken wings and that's the least number!! It was really delicious. The fish was also to die for. I didn't like the paneer much and paneer is my favorite vegetarian dish. So that was definitely a disappointment. I loved the mutton roll and the potato and the chicken as well. The prawn and the pineapple was good as well. We spent a lot of time with starters till 3:30pm almost! The staff had to come over and explain that it was almost over and they had to close soon. They were gracious enough to make another batch of chicken wings though ;) The main course was decent. The soup was pretty good which was a surprise
The Chef's special was crab!!! Thumbs up to the chef. I have rarely seen crab in any buffet and that has always disappointed me. The salads and the rice were also pretty good. We quickly moved on to desserts ... we went to the ice cream counter where we could pick our choice of ice cream along with the toppings. They had two flavors: vanilla and strawberry. I wish there were more flavors and chocolate sauce as well for topping. Maybe they ran out if it as we were too too late. The desserts were all really good. Both the mouse, the brownie, the cakes, payasam. Everything was good. The bill made it worth it all as it was only 600 per head. I loved the ambience and it was four thirty when we finally left. It was one hour beyond the end time. A real thumbs up to the staff as they were still courteous despite staying for one hour after the closing time. A MUST visit place.

A good place for grills. Went here for dinner and the starters were excellent,but they took so much time to bring Grilled fish. Coming to the main course, it was pretty average and the desserts were kind of good. Hope they improve the main course menu. VFM.
Had been to this place as a team on a fine weekday with prior table booking. Right from organizing the management totally took great care of it's customers. Our team had equal number vegetarians and non vegetarians, seated in the same table. The staff took utmost care. They kept refilling barbecue starters till the end and requested us not to waste the food. The food needless to say was so good.. Especially dragon potato, golden fry corn in veg and chicken wings in non veg (opinion of my team mates) was a little disappointed to note that there were limited dishes in main course of veg. Rice items were ultimate. Pastries could have been better. Ice creams were somewhere out of reach!! There was an open offer on grill juices. And they added value to the dinner. Special mention - lime mint cooler and Cranberry juice. #musttry. Special hats off to the staff!! A little noisy ambience as it is almost crowded.

I been to Grill Box today with my family. I want to take my family to this place for a long time and finally it happened. I have to say I am not very pleased this time. Last time I been here was 1 year ago with my team that time I enjoyed the starters a lot. But this time the starters was not tasting good. Non veg starers were boring. Last time I been here, we were given more chicken starters like chicken tandoori, seek kebab some sandwish which was missing now. And then the starters they bring was delayed and was not quick.ย
their main course was not good the desserts were boring. I realised Grill Box has changed so much. But again I am not sure I wil visit this plae again, but I was thinking what prob went wrong. ย ย
There are more options in the city so I think I wil try those for the next time.
Excellent restaurant & had a very great time. Had a family party for 56 people. Service was more than what i expected. They beat any foreign restaurants i been to especially will all the noise we were making because of many kids, the serving crew was very friendly & understanding. Manager Karthick of Mylapore branch took care of us & make sure we left the place with complete satisfaction. The chef took personal care & made sure we were getting the VIP treatment. Food was delivered lighting fast. We liked & ate so much starters, we get to the buffet only in the end & found that the buffet course was extremely good. Especially the mutton biriyani. Mouth watering. Definitely will go there again.
This place never disappoints me.. My third visit to the place and I still feel that I had not tried all the dishes .. So the problem was unlimited grill starters :-) liked almost everything except the sheekh kebab which was dry. I skipped the mains as wanted to check everything on the dessert bar .. The options for the Sunday buffet was good enough , with tiny bit offerings of mousse , kheer , cake , jamun , ice cream - unlimited . We had also ordered mango mock tail which was also okay. One of the good spots for family outings if you have heavy eaters for grill.. Will visit again ๐๐ป
We went there as a large group of nearly 30 people and we were all quite happy with food. The price was better in comparison to its competitors and the continuous flow of appetizers were a savoury delight.

Grill box is an average served buffet. You get for wat you paid , u wanna save money as in a big gang go for it without thinking :) don't compare grill box with other buffet restaurants like BBQ .

This review is a year old. It was a introduction meet between me and my wife's family. We were a group of 12 persons.
We sat right corner very near the buffet. The soup was got served in the table as well as the starters. Nothing extra ordinary about the meal but they did good job by not spoiling anything. The buffet was also cheap.
Looking forward to go again.

Last Saturday was quite a fun night when we decided to dine out. It was one of those rare moments when the entire family gets together. My sister-in-law had given a positive feedback about her experience at the Grill Box located in Mylapore. Naturally, we finalized on going there.
The starters looked amazing and the flavors were perfectly balanced. Since I am allergic to pretty much everything except mutton, I had the creamy baked potatoes, grilled pineapples and paneer. The Sheek Kebab was exceptional too (or maybe because we came back from Sweden after one and half years?!).
The main course was a little disappointing though, mutton biriyani was the only edible dish in the non-vegetarian section. The Malaysian fried rice was an epic fail. The Hakka noodles saved the veg section's face as it was a little spicy and fun to eat.
There were a lot of desserts to choose from and I particularly liked the white frosting cake and cold stone ice-cream.
And that sums up my dining experience at the grill box.
If you are looking for barbecue and buffet in Chennai within the city limits, grill box is the right destination. Food is good although they need to improve the taste of some starters. But non veg is very good. Desserts are toooo gooood and main course has areas of improvement. Ambience of this place is good with decent service.ย

The place was so good. It was my first time, the food tasted awesome. The honey chicken was one of my favourite dishes. There were a wide range of desserts as well. The ambience was so good. They provided more varieties. The environment was well maintained. The overall experience was good.
Went there on weekend. Was a happy atmosphere. Got a table booked with no hassle. The staffs were all kind and took well care of out seating. Had an option to even select the table we wanted.
The on the table food was great but very minimum options available for non veg in the buffet side. Had to compromise with other options. But the other options were good enough to compensate that.
The only problem was the parking. It was very difficult to park 2 wheelers. There is valet parking for cars.

Pricing is decent. Spread is good both veg and non veg. Service could be better with a smile. This place is on Radhakrishnan Salai a.k.a RK Salai and same as Cathedral Road where US consulate is situated towards Gemini flyover. Grill box is situated towards Marina beach but comes much before CitiCenter mall. Exact spot is Yellow pages bus stand. RK Salai is an arterial road connecting many important places.
Definitely worth a try. Visited on weekend and it was almost close to full capacity. All the items are really good except for the Momos. Grill box is considerably cheap compared to other BBQ restaurant but still worthy compared to others. Cold stone and deserts section are the favourite here, queue will be always present in the chocolate fountain region.
I had a good experience, wouldn't compare this franchise with the likes of AB or BN in the offered varieties, but was satisfied with the dine in experience. During my visit, the children and my grandparents were charged half the price, and one thing I disliked was that both the veg and non veg package was of the same cost, there were very less vegetarian options available and is definitely not worth it for the veg folks.
Excellent food. I am a vegetarian, thought there wonโt be much options for Veg but I was surprised. There are good amount varieties for veg and all tasted really good. Tasty grill n other starters, super live counters n dessert. Overall stratified for the cost and taste was good.
It was strategically located at very hot place and has cool valet parking. It was so spacious and very large buffet place too. They have lots of varieties in all streams. Drinks are all awesome. A perfect stomach full of dining.
We organised team lunch for about 43 members in the grillbox, I'm really flabbergasted that we made a perfect decision on choosing this place, trust me guys this place is highly recommended for eating & spending our valuable time together as a team here, serving & atmosphere were outstanding. The restaurant guys shows their awesomeness in Food preparation & presentation, well organised & they show a perfect example for teamwork ๐๐๐

Good place for unlimited buffet for both veg & nonveg. Price is decent. Parking available. Spacious, ambience and service is good. All type of starters, main course likewise in other barbeque available. Other than that, choco fountain, chocolate dosa, honey chicken, cheesy potato, pan cake are the must try options. The taste of dahi puri, momos were not upto the mark. And also, different type of dosas & koththu parotta available. For kids, popcorn, cotton candy & paai puri available. Overall, a good & decent place to hangout with friends, families or colleagues.

We had team lunch here. Ambience was good and place was neatly maintained. We booked in a very short period and they accepted the booking. They had variety of non-veg and veg starter and served well. They also variety main courses and desserts. Live counter was good. They had duck and few more different items to try.
