Came here for the beef roast, parotta and beef curry, and I was not disappointed. Easily one of best places for authentic Kerala food. You can see that the whole set up, the ambience gets you prepared for a nice Kerala feast. They know their food. Look nowhere else if you’re looking for authentic Kerala good, and yah beef *wink*
Amazing place to have an authentic kerala cuisine. The menu is completely pocket friendly and one need not worry about the pricing here. The best thing I like about the place they haven't cut the neem tree growing inside the place and have constructed the hotel around the tree and this environmental friendly act of them needs an appreciation. The staffs are so friendly and have a smile on their face anytime we see them. They serve that herbal warm water to their customers which is very good for digestion. I would strongly recommend this place for a great experience and tasty Naadan food.
Food is so good and i enjoyed my foods . It's very delicious and the prices are in budget. We go with our family and enjoy the foods in thier hotel
Best place for authentic Kerala food
Superb restaurant for the cost nd taste , best place
Deliberately for Malabar cuisine
I loved the squid gravy there. It was heavenly
R and I really enjoyed the food here and the price that accompanied it :) the parottas were really good. We ordered the roast beef gravy and the kuttanad special chicken curry. We loved the food.. The payasam was bit sweet . All in all a good experience.
I recently got a chance to visit this authentic kerala restaurant.I had veg meals along with a plate of beef dry fry.The pricing of the food is exceptional and the veg meals is priced merely at ₹85 but the quality is amazing. The matta rice with sambar is a breathtaking combination...along with papad, pickle, mooru, kootucurry and thoran.
Well taking about the porotta and beef,i must say it was good but not exceptionally good. The beef was spicy but was not tender and was a little bit tough.
Overall it was a good visit and would like to recommend all the southern cuisine lovers.
They also have varieties of fish, chicken, mutton nd beef preparations.
For onasadhya, I landed here. Not only was the food really delicious, the variety ample, the servers were very warm and welcoming and the interiors were humble.
Kuttanad is one of the restaurants in Chennai which serves Authentic Kerala food . I personally love the Kerala food here coz the Coconut oil wasnt overpowering which is common in most of the restaurants..Puttu - Coconut shavings topped puttu drives crazy with its hot steam.the puttu was soft and tender wasnt chewy.Kadala curry - the kadala curry had a good portion sufficient for 2 and the gravy was filled with mild flavors .it made a good combo to the puttu.Pichipota Chicken - Finely cut chicken along with coconut and spices. this was a fusion of Chicken Kothukari with a Malabar Punch..Vfm- 5/5Tastometer- 4.5/5

Sometimes the simplest of places dish out the most satisfying meal! This turned out to be very true at Kuttanad Restaurant when wifey and I checked it out for lunch. I’ve been here a few times, quite long ago. Its a very basic place, not a fine dine restaurants. The moment you see the prices on the menu, you’ll realize that even more vividly.
Thankyou Google guide for recommending this place. It was a gem with Malabar delicacies. Extremely tasty dishes, courteous staff , great location. The best part about this place was their effort to save a tree that grew right in the middle of the small joint. Still instead of chopping it off it has been kept and added to the beauty of this place.
I have absolutely no regrets of ordering or over ordering foods from here. The only dish which was exceptionally low in quantity and size were the dry fried prawns. May be my hungry soul was waiting for something grand and then the site of some micro prawns scattered in a plate dint reach upto my expectations.
Nevertheless, all you keralian food lovers, this is a must go to place for you.
Love the dishes served here.. been here for more than 10 times and the waste was amazing and price is also reasonably less compared to other places
Yes once I visited this restaurant a nd food was good exsepecily fish curry and chicken podimas was good the restaurant is neet and tidy will visit again
Perfect place for Kerala food.. I have been there at least 20 times..... The food is so good and the price is also very reasonable...karimeen pollichath is one dish that I couldn't deny
The best place in Chennai for authentic Kerala food. Amazing food and prompt service. The sea food dishes are a die for and Kerala beef fry is undoubtedly a must try. All these at a very reasonable price.
Awesome Malabar Parotta at good price. This authentic Kerala dishes at the price they serve us an absolute killer. Karimeen polichathu, beef fry in coconut oil or chicken fry are absolute cravings
Good home cooking. Sometimes the egg appams get undercooked if there are too many people. Also, some of the meat, especially the beef, is inconsistent - tough as leather some days and really soft on others. A spicy treat for those who enjoy Kerala food that is authentic and hot on the plate. Helpful staff and good overall service but the quality of the meat is a major minus. Hence, I am removing one star.
I love the paratha and beef available here. Food quality is awesome. Kerala style restaurants having many dishes which have the real taste of kerala
It will take you to Kerala atmosphere, simple neat and tasty 😋 the most perfect spot to have Kerala cuisine , amongst the fancy and hotel interior this s so traditional and the songs playing there will make u feel 90s period. Puttu kadala curry, Nadan chicken curry and kappa Biriyani are the best and Onam sadya 😍 taste their jeera water rather buying water bottle😃

This restaurant focuses on quality and taste. People who love to taste the flavor of Kerala dishes, try this restaurant. The restaurant is not very spacious is the only area of concern.
Wanted to have best pocket friendly Kerala food ? Stop here !
Amazing food ! 10/10
Ambience they have improved a lot from before ! 6/10
Pocket friendly 10/10
All time fav appam and beef curry
Awesome karimeen fry Malabar briyani tasteless loaded chicken roast kerela Style spicy taste appam is a cheap cost and it is fine 10 rs only
A small place well tucked inbetween buildings in Adyar. The food was pretty good and I would be back to try more!
The food is spicy and made of coconut oil !
Love the food! If your looking for simple Authentic Kerala food , here’s the place! Ambience can be little more to the theme however Reasonable pricing and lovely food makes it a place to visit often! Will definitely recommend this place for food lovers!
Their malabar biriyanis are best in chennai😍😍.my fav restaurant in recent times❤️❤️❤️. Their chicken curry and parotas are sooo good. Worth the price😻
Perfect place to try kerelite food, parotto is really Nice n crispy, even other curries are also tasty... different n kerela taste... different rice they gave..I liked that also. If you r open try different cuisine .then you can try this..
Do visit this ..if you south indian Food lover
Pocket friendly with great taste. It will be really great to have a dine there after having a nice evening in Adyar or Bessy beach. Majority are variety Kerala dishes and can chose Puttu and Kadala curry, one of my personal favorite and Kerala Porotta and Beef.
Kuttanad is the place for quick mallu food with reasonable prices. My cousin and I were famished before we ended up at Kuttanad. Kuttanad has a mediocre ambience but you don't judge a book by its cover, do you ? I ordered a beef fry (dry) and chose Beef Biriyani. My fry was just perfect. The Biriyani was definitely not the Tamil style or the Mughal Biriyani but it was ok. Ultimately, the meal was worth every penny. It was served quick and hot and most importantly it went friendly on our pockets.
Verdict : A quicky bite in Adayar, this is a place you can try.
This is a very good kerala restaurant I can suggest for people in chennai. All the food are tasty and right priced. I really felt the taste of food I usually having from Kerala. Really good. Value for money
The best Kerala meals ever 😋 and it was easy on the pocket book! Great service ☺️ Beef biryani is the best 😍 parota and beef gravy is a must order dish here !One of the best Kerala type restaurant in Chennai😁.
It was one of the evening where I was literally craving for some flaky parotta that you get in mallu shops and that's when me and my friend Maximus zeroed into Kuttandu.
Located right next to the Adyar Signal, Towards Shastri Nagar, in my wild guess its the 4th building from the left.
Since it was dinner, we kept the order very simple. We ordered two portions of parotta and appam along with a Kerala chicken curry and Beef Ularthiyathu. Beef and parotta can never go wrong. Its one of the best combination. Parotta was flaky and crispy and went well with the gravy and the beef dish. Appam was uber soft. Chicken curry was really delicious, it had hint of coconut and tasted really different.
Customer friendly service.
Reasonabe rates. We were billed INR 350, for the above.
This place is on my list when I crave Home food. It’s a small spot, not many seatings. But it sure gives all the feels of Kerala. With the food, music and even the aroma! Visited here atleast 4 times after I moved to Chennai. It has always been fully occupied. And so, will have to wait atleast 20 min before we get the food. But it’s definitely not a problem because you will leave completely satisfied. Very pocket friendly as well. I ordered Kerala rice meals and meen pollichadhu. It was yum yum.
Had here very spl dish karimeen polichethu, it was amazing tasty, like home food, and small fresh prawn fry yummy also beef varatiyadu too good!....
Thank you team, keep it up..
It's a very nice authentic Kerala cuisine restaurant. If you love Kerala food, this is the place to be. Very simple, mess kind of ambience with fast and friendly service. It's a must try place and I will definitely visit again!
Been here couple of times with my colleagues for lunch. I must admit that this place makes you go back just like it did to me or rather us (including my colleagues :P ). I had the softest (kerala)parota here and it tastes out of the world when had along with squid/ mutton roast. Biryani, karimeen polichathu, fish fry are other favorites dishes here. Its a must visit place and a pocket friendly one :) I will be visiting this place again to taste their softest and layered parotas :D

Most liking here is beef roast made with coconut and masala. Knowing the locality, they also serve steamed ponni rice. Cheap and best Kerala cuisine.
Fabulous, amazing, and mind blowing experience. I had a lunch here and it was my first time trying Kerala cuisine. I ordered Beef roast, fish curry, parota, Kerala rice, and some more items from menu. Food was amazing, staff is well mannered and humble. Keep it up guys, will be visiting again soon 💓
If u wanna have good pure kerala cuisine at reasonable cost , this is it , maybe the best affordable kerala restaurant in chennai.
The porotta are crispy and perfect.
The beef was good.
The kappa biriyani is a must try for people looking for something new.
The only thing the place lacks is an ambience and some good drinks section.I am not complaining about ambience though because this is the same that we get bak in kerala at the same prices.
Kuttanad is a not so hidden gem in the heart of the city. We went on a weekday afternoon and it was pretty crowded. Not much to brag about in terms of ambience and service but the food; bragworthy.
We tried quite a lot of dishes: around five to six. I loved the kerala style paratha which went really well with the spicy, tamarind-y prawn masala. Another good dish was the fish Polichathu. I will definitely be going to Kuttanad another time to explore more of their Kerala cuisine.
My go to place when it comes to mallu food. Love their flaky parota, beef fry and fish fry. Their menu is extremely affordable and portion size is pretty decent. If you must go on the weekend do try the meals but make sure you head early
Tried this place for the first time on a Saturday night with family, after a shopping expedition in Phoenix Mall. We all seemed to want a place offering Kerala cuisine, so we chose to go here as it was rated well. The place was teeming with people and we were quite lucky to find a table near the entrance.
Parking: Though they do have ample 2 wheeler parking, the parking available for 4 wheelers is street parking (parallel parking in front of the restaurant, or wherever you can find space on the street if the parallel parking slots are unavailable).
Ambience - not much to talk about but was comfortable and simple, just like mid sized restaurants you may find in Kerala. The AC was not too efficient (window ac) and though we were sitting right next to it, we did not get any cooling from it. The table next to us seemed to have better luck though. But thankfully, was not too hot inside, so was bearable.
Food - We tried the appam, kerala porotta, egg masala, fish curry (ayala) and prawn masala. All the dishes were fantastic. I personally loved the prawn masala and the appam as well as the porotta. The porotta was flaky, crispy and soft, just the way it should be and not oily. Even the gravies were not too oily. The food was great and we all felt that the flavour of food was authentic! The pricing was quite reasonable too. We will definitely be going back again.
My husband introduced me to this place few months back and i instantly fell in love with their plumpy trivandrum chicken leg fry and now it's my all time fav 😍. Have tried their other dishes like beef roast , fish curry, kadala curry and what not. The best part is that it's pocket friendly 😍. We usually ask for a take away as the restaurant can get crowded at times. It ain't an authentic kerala restaurant so don't expect it to be one but definitely the food is good 🖒. Being a pucca foodie and that too from kerala am still in search for the best kerala hotel offering yummy kerala cuisine in namma chennai.
Walked into this restaurant without realising it’s specialty is non vegetarian food. No regrets however as the Chappati and aloo mutter (peas and potatoes in tangy gravy) were served quickly, served hot and went in a flash. Anyone watching would have thought I’d just landed from Mars and discovered the joy of eating 😂
The place is compact and crowded with good humoured staff. That can only mean a success story.
Thanks for a filling dinner at a reasonable price.
This place is warm and welcoming. We ordered flower appam, kozha puttu, karimeen pollichadhu, kadala curry with parotta for 2. karimeen pollichadhu was one fantabulous and signature dish in this restaurant i wud say. kadala curry was yummy as well. Warm ambience.
Those who like real Kerala taste,it's must place to visit.they flexible to offer you some add ons out of the menu when you request.one star less for biryanis, and less choice of beverages.
This place serve authentic Kerala cuisine. We tried out their veg. meal accompanied with fried fish and beef.
About the meal there is sambar, two veg dry preparation, achar, padad and moru kacchi.Loved their sambar which was way better than any other that I had here. The fish fry was really delicious.
The service was good and the price are pocket friendly. This place is a must try.
*Try their kottu paratha and biryani it is heavenly.*
Born a malayali, I love kerala cuisine.
Wanted to try out this place for a very long time and finally did it.
Had
kerala porotta - very good
appam - good
beef masala - good
king fish pollichathu - this was kind of disappointing. the fish appeared to have been fried too much, loosing it's flavor.
Pricing is average, friendly to our pockets.
Quantity and Quality: good
Ambience: they should try to revive the place. It's dull and the interior decors are not blending in.
Service: This can be improved. (AS NOTED IN OTHER REVIEWS). The staff doesn't appear like their job; no passion (at least they need to show fake passion) and this reflects in their approach to customers.
I'll be coming here for more.
Reciding in this area for all my life i never knew such good of a restaurant exists just behind my place and and i have to kick myself for not giving a damn!
We were a group of four, so good grace we managed to try quite a list off the menu, and mind it we were 3 good eaters on the verge of becoming hangry😋 and the quantity was equally rewarding,
*⃣ Dragon Chicken,
Nice saucy variety more of Chinese flavour with no real keralian touch to it, but this was mainly for that one chap that exists in every gang who orders the same whenever or wherever he goes just to see what's different there!
*⃣ Steamed rice with Nei meen kolambu,
The one authentic traveler who knows what is best where and orders just to indulge in her own aura ordered this, me not being a fan of meen kolambu have nothing really to say!
*⃣ Barottas with Malabar chicken curry,
This guy needs no intro he's the one who's influenced a lot by movies we all have a little of him in every us😎,
Perfect sized fluffy ones with a hint of spicy punch and sweetness in the curry..One downside are their big cut vegetables it kinda ruins the purpose!
*⃣ Beef roast,
This is a no brainer, when in kerala restaurant be a keralian.
Nice meat to begin with, well cooked with the gravy giving it a nice flavour, we ended up loving this more than the other gravy.
*⃣ Idiyappam Paya,
This guy is the why take risk let's take it easy, and go Veg!
Didn't touch this either, but all i can say was there were no leftovers.
#⃣ Malabar briyani,
Before having it here i had to travel 750odd kms on my trip to Kerala which i actually loved, and for the second one approximately 750 metres! Such irony is my life.
Both times i loved it ..The company of the leftover gravy did some great justice.
Personally i am not a fan of Kerala dishes normally for their over dosage use of coconut oil, but this place is very keen in not letting that happen. Overall a must try place for what it is, not much on the pocket too!😘😇
Ambience: Pretty decent nothing posh
Service: Didn't make much time to reach us
Taste: Personally a favourite

QUICK REVIEW:
Food: Delicious, prepared fresh!
Service: slow during peak hours
Ambiance: typical Kerala style restaurant(if you haven't been to one, you'll like it)
DETAILED REVIEW:
Decided to dine for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. A nameboard which you can locate easily. Although they have enough space to occupy a lot of people, you might have to wait in queue, so suggestive to go early.
We ordered Trivandrum Chicken Fry and fish(Vanjaram) for starters. The staff were helpless when the crowd and order size increased! We received out meals(yes, they serve yummy brown rice!) late. The taste made up for the delay nevertheless. The fish kuzhambu was cooked well. The table setup and ambiance will make you feel comfortable while you dine. Malayalam songs in the background will help you enjoy your meal better.
Their idea of serving non vegetarian items must be appreciated! All dishes were rich in flavor, cooked fresh. We did not have space to try more items even though we wanted to!
Kuttanad, will definitely dine again!
It’s more than worth for the money you pay.. a much needed Kerela food to be tasted.. appam, puttu and kadalai curry gives the feel of the origin.. chicken currys will give the best flavours.. but must try is the one longing for the Kerela red rice.. a budget place for everyone.. you cannot expect the ambience to be impressive but you will definitely like the food..

Best Kerela Cuisine in Chennai! That too with very nominal range. Egg Appam with veg stew is a must try! Kadala Curry, Egg Curry, Puttu are the items we tried and everything was at its best. Name a Mallu dish and the probability of getting the same is high at this place. A MUST TRY PLACE!!
was jst roaming around Besant nagar with my sister and on our way back to home we were really hungry and decided to give this restaurant a try and the resto was really superb ..kadai chicken ,naan and paratha were awesome here.... a real treat for malayali food lovers
Awesome Kerala dishes. Especially the beef varieties.
The fried rice is about bland but all the Kerala dishes are terrific considering the cost. Total value for money. Order only Kerala dishes. Do not go for other dishes.
We did home delivery for about 28 friends/relatives on Christmas 2017. We live two streets away from the restaurant and are not from Kerala. Yet, we enjoyed the food! Here is what we liked:
1. Payasam was the best.
2. Poritcha Kozhi (Fried Chicken) could be eaten easily by all kids and seniors.
3. Appam with Kadala Curry (Veg) was superb. I was disappointed that Idiappam was not on menu but Appam proved a perfect replacement.
4. Beef curry was good with Appam but some senior citizens found the meat chewy.
5. Chicken Tikka was as good as you can get in Punjab.
6. The Biriyanis were good despite long grain rice was not used.
7. Chicken Kotthu Paratha and Gobi Manchurian Gravy we the only disappointment on an otherwise great day.
They delivered the food 15 minutes ahead of time!

One my favourite restaurant Long long Long Time back I visit here to take a very good Kerala style meal and here I love The fish verryyyyyyyy verryyyyyyyy much.
The prices are all Little changes only no changes in taste and the service was very Good
I spend a Time with my friend and the ambience was very Good feeling veryyyy peace The music they play inside it gives a Good mood to us ...
Veryyyy Good place ...
Food was awesome... 😋😋
Beef was exceptionally good...
Service was also Awsome..
Nice ambience.. Worth the Money spent...
Felt like home..😋😋😋
We were here on a Sunday afternoon. Their ground floor dining area was full, so they asked us to go to third floor of the building. After waiting for a while we got table. It took another 15 minutes to take our orders 👎
Food ordered: Two Chicken biryani, poricha Kozhy, Egg kothu parotta, Beef roast and kerala parotta
Chicken biryani was average 👎
Poricha Kozhy - It was simple fried chicken. It could have been more spicier.
Egg kothu - With right amount of gravy and curry leaves it was fantastic 👌👌
Beef roast and parotta - This is the first time I had beef roast. I was thinking it would be served dry because of the name roast. It was kind of semi gravy with loads of beef pieces and spicy enough to have it with kerala parotta 👌👌
Service - service was average here 👎. It took more than 20 minutes to serve us water. There were only two people serving for the entire area. They definitely need to look into improving service.
Price - we paid around 800 rupees for all the above items. Pricing was reasonable.
Overall it was mixed experience.
Restaurant with tasty food with in budget. We choose for home delivery. The only issue was little bit delay in service.Thank You very much!!!!
Heard about this small Kerala joint from my sister who said that it was for those on a budget.
We popped into the place on a weekday afternoon around 1:45pm....
It was packed with people... we managed to seat ourselves on a vacant table....
This they are short staffed as orders for all their tables are taken by a single person....
We ordered for Kerala meals with fish curry and fish fry (aila)
The meals came with coconut chammanty (chutney) pickle, broad beans vegetables, more curry (curd curry) , fish gravy, sambhar, brinjal curry and rice.
You have option to choose between Kerala Matta rice and white rice... we chose the Kerala rice...
The fish used for the fish fry was fresh... the coconut chammandy was the winner of the meal according to my husband.. all the gravies and accompaniments tasted great... no complaints...
My only issue was delay in service and that is expected if such a huge place is attended to by a single person...
Ambience is just basic.. so if you are looking for something fancy this is not for you...
If you want authentic Kerala food without the frills then this restaurant suits the bill...
We had aappaam and ordered many side dishes.
Chicken stew - the chicken pieces are less but the taste is good. Still, kumarakam wins in the stew taste.
Egg masala and egg curry - there is little difference in taste and color and worth of having.
We had chicken mashup also which is tasty.
The service is warm and the place is not much crowded on Sunday evening.
As a lover of the flavors from God's Own Country, this place is the one that is the closest to my heart. I really will never be able to find a replacement for this restaurant, and have the best experiences of my food journey in Chennai over here.
I have visited this place twice, once for Onam and the other for normal lunch. Apart from that, I've gotten good home delivered as well. What really stands out in this restaurant is the smile and hospitality every person here welcomes you with.
For the onam sadhya, they were overflowing with customers. But what shocked me was that none of the staffs were tensed and handled the situation with ease. We had to wait for an hour before we were given our table, but it was worth the wait.
For the second time, we decided to go with the classic: parotta and beef. Each bite was oozing with flavor and kept us wanting more.
The food is not heavy. It is not over priced. But it sure our tasty. All the dishes we had here were made well served hot and tasted fresh.
There's no doubt that we'd never think twice to visit this place again!
Best place to eat kerala style food.. Especially beef roast with parotta was awesome. But less spicy food. Don't choose this hotel if you like chettinad food
Wonderful Kerala restaurant. All the foodies must try visiting this place at least once for their BEEF varieties. Veggies shall strictly avoid. The best i found here is Parotta and Beef combination. Yet to try other recipes, will definitely keep visiting this restaurant. Parotta's are smooth and cooked well. Tried Beef Roast, Beef Curry and Beef Fry. All of them tasted awesome and my thirst for beef was fulfilled here after a very long time.
Sometime back when i tried ordering from Zomato, they didnt take my order. When i called them they said they dont take orders from Zomato for some GST issues. Thus made me visit this place. Ambiance is decent, not very rich though. Has enough tables and waiters to handle good crowd. Any beef lover should not miss this restaurant.
Cheers !!!
It was one amazing lunch at kuttanaad. The food is sooo delicious that i eat so much whenever i go there. Its one place that defines Kerala beautifully....
Been here many times. All time favourite I would say. Recently they extended their place and an upper floor is available,so more spacious it has become. I've ordered chicken Briyani, the classic kerala Briyani. Nadan chicken curry is my favourite but I've ordered chicken roast which is semi gravy this time. I find the curries a Lil spicy here as I don't fond of spicy food. But the taste is really good. Along with the gravy,I took paratha, appam, puttu. The full gravy was all good for 2-3 person and semi gravy was good for 2. Ordered chilli paratha as well, was crispy and nice, liked it. The one more thing which I would recommend is the kadalai curry. A cheaper place than other kerala restaurants which are available in Chennai. My all time fav as well. Ambience is fine, and ac is there . Gst is applied here too.
Kuttanada is a true gem nestled in the heart of Kerala, offering an unparalleled experience in the art of spice. As a fervent enthusiast of Kerala's vibrant culinary scene, I found myself captivated by the rich, aromatic flavors that Kuttanada effortlessly showcases. From the tantalizing aroma of cardamom to the warm embrace of cinnamon and the fiery kick of black pepper, this place is a haven for spice lovers.
The authenticity and quality of the spices here are unmatched, each one telling a story of Kerala's rich heritage. What truly sets Kuttanada apart is not just the spices themselves but also the warmth and knowledge of the local experts who graciously share insights into their cultivation and usage.
Moreover, the ambiance reflects the essence of Kerala's culture, enhancing the overall experience. Whether you're a culinary enthusiast or someone seeking a deeper connection with Kerala's culinary traditions, Kuttanada is a must-visit destination.
In conclusion, Kuttanada's spice haven is a delightful voyage for the senses, offering an immersive and authentic exploration of Kerala's flavors. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a flavorful journey through the heart of Kerala's spice world.
This is the place to go if you crave for authentic Kerala food. The food, the service and the atmosphere - everything about this place is so good. With the steamed rice in front of you and the malayalam music in the background.. trust me it will take you to Kuttanadu.
This place is best suitable for non vegetarian fare. My friends from Kerala laud their preparation as authentic Keralite cuisine. Menu has chicken, mutton, fish, prawns, squid and beef. Some of the dishes (most sea food, I guess) are prepared using coconut oil as one would expect. Chicken and mutton gravies had a much neutral. The place gets easily crowded for lunch, and more easily so on Fridays. Ambience is not great. We went there as a group of 8 and the average cost per person for the lunch came as Rs. 370.
Authentic Kerala cuisine restaurant, they never disappoint you when it comes to taste. I have been visiting them very often now. Nominal pricing and good food.
A little lovely Kerala restaurant. All their dishes are decently priced. They have all kinds of non-veg options. Staffs are polite and their service is fast too. The aroma of fresh food cooked in coconut oil is just amaze. Appams are not among the best, but the chicken and beef were so soft, tasty and tender. Portion are good too. Like, one curry can be shared by two people easily. Yummy food. Please go try this place everyone.
We previously had our dinner around 2019 when it was in the besant nagar main road. Now it had been shifted near besant nagar.
However the food taste is still the same. Adipoli !!!! Thats how I can put in words. My favourite here is "Beef varattiyathu". Awesome beef dish made in coconut oil.
For taste i would give 10 out 5. Excellent in taste and service as well as price. Must try.
For the past 10 years I'm going there. All the time they served thier best . An Authentic Kerala restaurant. Their beef dishes are delicious.
Don't try mutton dish it's not upto the mark.
Kuttanad is the most accessible and equally yummy mallu food joint in the Adyar and Besant Nagar areas. I've been eating here since I was in college and through all those years and two location changes, their atmosphere, service and food has remained unchanged.
Their hot malabar parottas and beef dry fry are my go-to order and in all these years I have never been disappointed. The beef pieces are always well-cooked and lean pieces mostly, which I enjoy more.
Be prepared for lightning fast service on most days.
The egg curry, pachakari stew, puttu and appams are also delicious. Their appams have the perfect aftertaste of a fermentation that most places hit or miss. Egg appams are next level too.
I have overheard kappa and their kothu parotta varieties being ordered often, but haven't tried them.
Once with a friend, we tried their chicken stew, which is the only subpar dish I have eaten here. I think pieces of boiled chicken were mixed into a stew base, leaving it feeling like the flavours hadn't mixed.
Expect to be served pink warm water and an ambiance of a playlist stuck in the 90s, chasing a romance that perhaps never existed.
Recently tried the beef varatiyathu with parotta – it was super tasty! A perfect combo for those craving authentic Kerala flavors. Highly recommend for a delicious and satisfying meal!
Authentic Kerala style dishes. Very tasty and service is fast till the shop crowds up. Being there early is preferable rather than after 1 hour the shop opens.
Price for 6 - 1,600/- VFM
Kerala cuisine - authentic and less jazzy but tasty 😋
Service and Atmosphere gives typical kerala feel - but when crowd comes in - the same turns into considerable waiting situation.
A good place for kerala variety.
I had lunch with kerala rice meals, meen polichathu, egg omlette. Unlimited kerala rice with sambar, more kuzhambu, chutney, pickle, papad-oh wow 👌
Clean environment. Good personal care. Food was good. Specifically, Sambar was excellent. Kerala red rice was seperate but we'll cooked. Served extra side dishes, without asking for, on seeing the plate getting empty.
Amazing place to go for authentic Malabar and Kerala cuisine. Great place for Indian spiced beef as well.
We had the beef fry, beef curry, chicken pepper and fish curry. The appam and parotta as sides were excellent! And all of this for super reasonable prices. The decor isn't much for Hangouts and the service is adequate. But this place is about the food and attention to flavours.
We went in on a pongal festival evening and I assume they were running short of staff..
They took a very long time to attend us and then getting what we ordered took long time too..
Though the staff were exhausted they were not showing that up
Food was good as expected..
Probably will visit again soon!🙂
