One place that totally deserves 5 stars. Healthy and tasty food. Must try the raagi idiyappam, veg idiyappam, vazhapazha adai and the kadal paasi. Limited seating capacity is a bit of a constraint but a simple and nice veg place to dine out with family.

First of all a big thanks to provide a traditional organic and healthy food.
Went on a week day, there were not much crowd.
Food was served in arecanut leaf plates and liked the herbal drinking water.Ambiance and taste of the food was good.
Suggestion: Need to improve on the food varieties.

Absolutely love the simple yet tasty food served here. They have brought out the authentic taste in every dish. The place is small, but cozy. The staff are courteous. Invariably, we feel very satisfied after a meal here, unlike the usual bloated, guilty feeling after a heavy restaurant meal.

If you love food made they used to be made in the good old days with grain that has no chemical additives ( organic) you are in for a treat. The food menu is excellent and so is the service and ambience. I visited this place in 2006 and again in July 2018. Highly recommend this if you are vegetarian and like healthy alternatives

Food is scrumptious. Attentive staffs. If you crave for food that is "delicious yet healthy" or "fatty yet genuine organic" both, this is THE place to go in Chennai. Would be better if Restaurant can scale up to cater to large groups at a time.

Pure, Hygienic and organic food with smiling server's 👌😋. We ordered sweet and Dosa which was delicious with tasty chutneys. Everything is worth to order from the menu and the best part is they serve the helathiest food in the town👌👏👏

Nice place. We went as a party of 3. Had rice puttu, millet puttu, millet masala dosa and idli. All except the rice puttu were nice. It was too dry and it being a Kerala dish, they need to take training from God's own chefs!

My friend and I were on a typical weekly meet-up at Besant Nagar beach. And, we were wanted to try quality foods. We came across this very cosy restaurant in a quiet lane to have our food in a relaxed state of mind. What's more? This restaurant offers healthy options. It's all organic!
We ordered Kombuchaa (a fermented drink), Millet Paniyaram, and Adai Aviyal! Each of these tasted lip smacking, except Aviyal.
Do visit when you are at Besant Nagar! Be informed that they serve it a little delayed. But that's never a drawback for the quality of food you are being served.

I was looking for some healthy food option for dinner, got this place from my old bookmark and went with it. I think this is branch of Green Cafe in T.Nagar which is also a organic restaurant.

Location and Parking -
This place is easy to locate. Take first left when you enter beach road from church side. Road next to Mr.Pando restaurant. It has Cool Coco day in the front. I tried using Google map for ease but it was not pinned in Zomato. Parking is manageable in roadside.

Ambiance -
It is a small room which has 5-6 tables. Ambiance is simple and decent. No issues as such. Got table in ease. No table reservation required on weekdays.

Food -
The Menu is good with decent number of varieties. Good to see so many millet varieties. I ordered Seruthaniyam Adai Aviyal, Masala Stuffed Idly and Aazhi Amudhan. Everything is decent. All accompaniments viz Sambar, 3 varieties of chutneys and Aviyal are good. Aazhi Amudhan aka kadal paasi is excellent.

Service -
Only one person for service for all the table when I went. He was attentive and decent. Only the waiting times for food needs improvement. It will test our patience if hungry.

Pricing -
It is slightly on higher side but justifiable considering location and organic / millet ingredients in food.

Overall -
Worth visiting for having Healthy food.

Easily one of the best organic food place to go around Besant nagar. Delicious food. Was in for a treat that was healthy. Try their kadal paasi, raagi idiyappam and vazhaipazha adai.

If you are looking for tasty, healthy, flavorful south Indian food look no further. The food is vegetarian but caters to vegans too.
The portions were small but sufficient. I loved the save water messaging all around the restaurant

Ka Restaurant has a very intimate dining area. The staff came out often to interact with us and other patrons. We all had a craving for dosa and Ka Restaurant did not disappoint! The food was fresh and delivered in a timely manner. We really enjoyed dining here and will visit again.

Awesome, filling and healthy dishes. Though it takes a while for the food to arrive after placing the order, it is always fresh and piping hot. Been there a number of times and have always left content and happy.
Organic, traditional and healthy food can also be tasty; Ka proves this!

It's a small eatery which gives variety in millet based dishes. The ambience is good and max 22-23 people can be seated at a time.

We were seated and were served water. Nice mooligai (herb) water and tasted pleasant!

We had ordered a tomato soup, chilly idli and a plate of samai idli.

The soup arrived within 5 minutes of ordering. This too contained millet ingredient in it. The millet was ground and used as thickening agent.soup tasted ok.

Then we were waiting for a long time almost 20mins and we didn't get what we ordered and there was not much rush too.! Then we called the person who took order and asked what happened to the order. Apparently he had forgotten about it. Then again we told and waited.

It took 15 mins for them to give the idly.the idly was soft and delicious accompanied with 2 chutneys and sambar. After we finished eating idly we ordered a plain dosa and waited for chilly idli and dosa as well.

After 10mins got chilly idli. Chilli idli was good too. This too was made with samai idly and tasted good. Though I would have preferred it a bit more spicy(no chillies were found in the dish)

Again had to wait for the dosa and were fed up. So called the person again and asked what happened to the dosa and he said it is being prepared.we knew he had forgotten again and we cancelled the order and asked for bill. Again the billing procedure took 10mins.

Though the person serving was patient but this kind of service during time, where you have rush in the resto is not acceptable.

Food was good but waiting time is very bad. I wanted to try their beetroot idiappam and some more dishes but we didn't have much time so left.

Service needs a lot of improvement. One person for taking order and one person serving on a Sunday peak time.
They don't have a clue on what customer service means. Had to keep on pushing them to get whatever you ordered.
Doesn't impress to visit again

This a neat little place in Besant Nagar , located close to the beach. I love the vazhaipoo vadai, thinai pongal and kambu dosai served here. Food is made fresh and served piping hot. The sambar and chutney are also amazing and just the right quantity.

Should say that it is the first of its kind in this area. Had some nice snacks in the evening time:
Finger Idly, Vadais, Coffee, all were nice and seemed to be different & tasty.

Healthy VEGETARIAN food and tasty too. This place is clean . Staff are friendly.

Millet Dosa, Millet Chapathi, vazhaipoo vada and Herbal coffee are worth trying.

An Ultimate Destination to healthy vegetarian snacks:

On a Friday evening after a long walk in the Bessie beach, I have reached this place along with my colleague. Although we both are foodies, it wasn't very tough to get convinced about the taste of the food.

We ordered Ragi paniyaram, raagi peanut halwa & puttu and They are amazingly yummy!

Lip-smacking varieties and assorted chutneys!!
Aiswarya Suresh
Good variety and range of millet foods is actually really good and tasty. The ambience is adequate. The water being served is loaded with flavor. Tasty food and neat ambience is what you need for a casual dinner, this is a definite place to try.

Eating out as become a ritual, which cannot be avoided so the least we could consider is the quality of food. And organic being an effectual choice it’s definitely a good pick to dine at one such restaurant. After a brilliant initiate ‘Green Café’ at T Nagar, the same management as launched KA – The Organic Restaurant at Besant Nagar. They set the perfect example when it comes to making complete use of their product; they grow, they sell, they make and they serve – Unified Agricultural Process.

Among the lonely and romantic streets of Besant Nagar, the restaurant is located on 16th Cross Street just opposite to Tovo Canteen. Glittering as gold as the Honey Bees, KA invites you into a simple yet thoughtful dining ground. Not just their food but also the paintings, the quotes on the table and the window curtains enlighten us with the importance of food and water. Coming back to the food reality, it was an invite so the food menu was completely decided by the restaurant. We were served a cluster of their signature dishes on a beautiful bamboo plate.

We started the meal with the perfect heat beater for the summer, Bajri (Kambu) Soup and Panakkam; the soup was an absolute bliss and the panakkam was just the way it should be. And once I swiped the soup-bowl clean, one by one the delightful South Indian items started to fill the plate. The Raagi Paniyaram was the best; crispy, flavorsome and yum. The Raagi Poorna Kozhukattai (sweet), Masala Vadai and Urad Dal Vada was good but could have been better as the Kozhukattai needed a little more cooking time and the Vadai missed the crispness.

As the appetizers were getting over, another sweet addition was added to the plate; the millet Sweet Pongal, subtle in sweetness and delicious to taste. The South Indian dishes wouldn’t taste good if the Chutney and Sambar weren't invented. Yes, the simple Jackfruit (seed) Masala Dosa and Idly tasted great with the sides but the Idly wasn’t as soft as it is meant to be. The best pick for the evening was the crispy and fluffy Raagi Poori, so yum. Finally, the millets Biriyani with Brinjal curry and Raitha was the best, when ‘healthy’ meets ‘taste’ that’s how it’s supposed to be.

The chilled Coconut Jelly to sign-off the meal; a unique dessert addition but jelly is never my preference so I didn’t enjoy them. Being an invite, can’t comment on the price but they are similar to Green Café. Considering the fact, organic, it is priced a little high but par with similar restaurants that are blossoming up in the town.

P.S. Late post as the restaurant wasn’t updated on Zomato earlier.

Food: 5/5
The food here definetely stands out. We ordered a plain dosa, a mushroom dosa, millet chappathi and podi dosa. All dishes were excellent in terms of taste, hygiene and health (nothing was oily). The only dish that was not on par with the rest was the podi dosa which was way too dry for my liking.

Ambience: 4.5/5
The restaurant was very clean and well-lit. It has around 6 tables and can probably accomodate a maximum of 20 people at a time. Nothing that stands out in terms of aesthetics, though.

Service: 3.75/5
The staff is very friendly and courteous but could probably be better trained.

Overall: 4.5/5
Definitely visiting again. This place offers organically sourced and healthy meals which is a great option for anyone who is looking to skip cooking at home or wants to halt eating unhealthy fast-food and wants to eat a healthy and tasty meal outside.

SERVICE IS VERY POOR !! The food is good. But the service destroys the joy of eating the food. They don't even serve a glass water while eating food.

Organic café in Besant Nagar. Great food. Super healthy and relatively inexpensive. Evening menu is more elaborate and also has a soup of the day. Ambience is comfortable and the staff is friendly. Absolutely must visit.
